Another daily update brought to you by yours truly! I want to give you all a MASSIVE thank you before everything else, because this story has finally surpassed Quintessential Maids in both favorites and follows! You heard that right! I have finally beaten my own fic, and now my next goal is to surpass Five Equal Angels! This is gonna be a tough one considering the length of that fic and how well-written it is, but I'm not giving up! FLUFF WILL REIGN SUPREME AND YOU GUYS CAN'T DENY IT NO MATTER WHAT YOUR SAY!

Last chapter was a full-on flashback on what happened in Kyoto five years ago. Fuutarou seems like he met one of them at first, and then the four other girls came along which triggered the electric shock because that was the exact moment when the old god 'accidentally' bestowed Fuutarou with a harem that he never wanted. What's gonna happen in this one? Let's find out together!

"Shouldn't we get going now? I don't know if we should still be here… that feeling we all felt earlier was so scary..."

"We should wait until he wakes up, it should be any moment now…"

"Why do we need to be here, anyway? Wasn't he with you before he fainted out of nowhere?"

"Because we were all there when that happened. It would be a cruel thing to do if we leave him all alone!"

"Shhh, he's about to wake up…!"

Hearing those five different voices all at once caused Fuutarou to stir awake, opening his eyes slowly as though he had a long dream about something. The first thing he saw upon waking up was a single beautiful face but as his vision became a lot clearer by the second, he found himself being surrounded by five girls who all wore the same outfit and… they looked exactly like each other?

Oh, right.

He met a girl earlier while he was being accused by a guard for 'taking pictures of someone else without permission', and that person saved him from his dilemma. He talked with that girl for a bit, before several other people approached them, who all seemed to know about the one he was with. Oh, and they were all girls too but that wasn't the reason why he was out of it.

What caught him off guard was the fact that the girls who approached them looked exactly like the one whom he met and for some reason, he felt a huge electric shock go through his entire body that it was too much for him to handle.

And it led to him blacking out, which was akin to getting fried to a crisp by a lightning strike.

"What happened? Where am I?" he asked, frowning slightly at all of the girls out of confusion.

"You fainted all of a sudden earlier, so uhm… we brought you here, hehe…" One of the girls spoke with an embarrassed smile. From her reaction to his question, she seemed to be the one who was with him earlier…

Oh, great, this is gonna be hard. These girls looked exactly like each other and they all had the same clothes as well. Was this even possible? Or was he still out cold and he was just dreaming? There's no way he'd be able to differentiate all of them from each other using either of those, which means he'll have to ask if she was the one who was with him before he passed out!

Wait a minute…

The only difference he could recognize from these girls were the expressions on their faces! One of the traits about himself that he felt proud of was his ability to observe details, and these girls before him had very visible differences that he noticed. Two of them were smiling, one was blushing for some reason, one had a look of worry, and the last one had a blank expression on her face.

Not really helpful in figuring out who was the girl he was with…

Fuutarou turned his attention towards the girl who first spoke, thinking that asking her was the best option he had at the moment.

"Are you the one I met earlier?" he asked.

The girl's embarrassed look turned into a genuine smile of happiness, while the others looked surprised at how he was able to recognize her despite all of them looking the same. "Yep, that's me! I'm glad you remember me!"

The same energy as the girl who helped him with the security guard… yeah, this was her. She was standing second from the left and fourth from the right. He'll keep that in mind, then.

"Don't worry, we didn't kidnap you, if that's what you were worried about," the other girl who was smiling spoke, with her expression changing into one that showed amusement instead.

"I never said I was worried," he shot back, showing he was unamused in contrast to her. Fuutatou then decided to ask the question that was bugging his mind ever since he saw these four other girls. "Why do you all look like each other?"

"Care to take a guess~?"

Seriously? She's going to do some pointless teasing when he was asking a serious question? His mood was immediately ruined from that. Great going, little girl. She annoyed him just from her demeanor alone. Yeah, screw asking, it won't lead to anything by the end of this.

"You know what, I don't have time for this. I'll just be on my way," he shook his head in disappointment and rose to his feet, dusting off his clothes before he began to walk away from the girls.

The girl with the worried look quickly panicked, waving her hands before frantically. "Ah, we're quintuplets! T-That's why we look exactly alike! D-Does that answer your question?"

"Oh, that's great to hear, if only I still cared. You lost your chance," Fuutarou replied while rolling his eyes, stopping in his tracks to throw them a dirty look. "I just said I don't have time for this. I was asking a simple question earlier, expecting a simple answer. Instead, one of you thought I was in the mood to be teased. Unfortunately for you, I wasn't."

She looked surprised at his answer for a few moments, before her look of panic turned into something else. The girl puffed her cheeks and gave Fuutarou a big pout that only made her look cuter than she already was, all while clenching her fists tightly in anger.

"T-T-That's mean…! Mouuuuuu, you're a meanie!"

"Wow, 'meanie'… that's such a strong word, you know?" Fuutarou deadpanned at her childish response, before rolling his eyes. "Whatever."

The girl continued to pout as she pointed towards him in accusing manner. If that wasn't enough for her to considered as childish, tears even started leaking out of her eyes, which was likely because of his 'harsh' words…

"Meanie! Meanie! You're a meanie!"

"What a crybaby…" was all that he could think of while deadpanning at her.

The next one who spoke among them was the girl who had blushing cheeks. Surprisingly, she wasn't shy upon saying her next words, so she must be blushing because of something else…

"What were you doing out here all alone?"

"It's none of your business," he said coldly, causing the girl to turn away, either because she was intimidated or she didn't want to make him angry.

"You wanted to be alone?" asked the girl with a blank look on her face, her expression somehow shifting into one that showed slight concern.

Fuutarou didn't hesitate to give her a bored look, as if he was getting tired of their questions already. Well, he was, but he didn't want to say something like that straight to their faces. He'll play it off by acting cold towards them and they'll leave him alone out of their own will. One of them was already angry with him, anyway.

"So what if I did? What's it to you?"

The girl only shrugged her shoulders.

He resisted the urge to chuckle at that moment, thinking it might end up making his situation worse. "That's what I thought. Goodbye, and I hope we never see each other again," he spoke while waving an arm lazily.

Before he could truly leave though, one of the girls spoke up again to stop him in his tracks. Unfortunately for him, he had his back turned against them and prevented him from seeing who it was.

Not like he could even distinguish one from the other, anyway.

"You're leaving already? That's unfair to us, don't you think?"

"And how am I being unfair?" he asked rhetorically, not even bothering to turn around to face her when that was a stupid question. "We don't even know each other for you to say that. Whatever, it's not my problem."

"Because we helped you after you passed out and brought you here. You owe us some of your time at least. If you leave already, then you really are a meanie," the girl explained calmly, before finishing her words with a pout.

Okay, that was good, he had to admit.

Welp, he couldn't find a way to refute her words because they were true, damn it! These girls helped him out when he fainted out of nowhere, even though they didn't have to! Sure, he could say that he didn't need their help, but that would be lying to himself and as much as he acted like a delinquent, he hated the idea of lying! Even when he would get caught, he'll just say the truth and face the consequences head-on instead of prolonging the interrogation.

Who knows? Things might have turned out a lot worse if someone else found him passed out on that bridge. These girls really didn't have to help him out since they had no reason to, but they still did. Because of this, Fuutarou couldn't help but grimace at what he thought of as an answer to them.

Fuutarou resisted the urge to groan loudly at his situation right now, while also questioning his own train of thought. Urgh, he hated to admit it, but he had to repay them somehow! Maybe it was just him or it's because of him being an Uesugi, but he couldn't stand the thought of an unpaid debt, especially if it involved him.

Hey, look at the bright side! If he sticks around with these girls for a bit, he can avoid being seen by the teachers and students of his school, right? Plus, they were supposed to be here until four in the afternoon, so the stupid tour guides won't bother looking for him until it's time for the buses to leave.

All right, time to get this over with.

Although he was initially against it, Fuutarou groaned anyway and turned around to face the girls with a displeased look on his face. He didn't want to do this, but it would satisfy that feeling inside him that seeked to repay these strangers for what they did to help him.

"Fine, but I'm only here because you do make a good point about helping me, and that's it. As far as I'm concerned, we are strangers to each other."

The girls had varying reactions to his words, but Fuutarou kept his attention to the one who bore that same amused smile on her face. She must be the girl who was teasing him earlier, and there's little to no doubt that she was also the one who mentioned saving him!

This girl was sneaky, but quite crafty at the same time… she's somehow like him, if that's the case. She's also different from the one who saved him from the security guard, then. Whereas she was someone who's full of smiles, this girl was a teaser!

Gotta watch out for her then!

"That's alright. Guess you aren't much of a meanie, after all," she smiled as if nothing happened. That wasn't the case for her other sisters, who were staring at her in surprise for managing to convince him to stick around for a while.

"Believe me, I am…" he sighed in his thoughts.

"What are you doing?! He's mean to us, we can't trust him!"

Fuutarou didn't hesitate to turn his attention to the one who spoke, and it was surprisingly easy to point out where she was among the five quintuplets. This girl made it easy for him because she was the only one with a pout on her face and tears in her eyes, all while pointing towards him accusingly.

"Oi, would you stop being such a crybaby already?" he said, resisting another urge to groan.

Ugh, this just makes him want to take back his words and leave so that things would be easier for the two of them, but it's probably too late for that.

"There, you see?! He's a meanie…!" she cried out, flailing her arms about to try and emphasize her point, when the only thing she was doing was show her overreaction to how Fuutarou acted towards her earlier.

"He does have a point, though…" the girl with the blank expression switched to an amused demeanor for a quick second, snickering at her sister's wailing.

The young man shook his head, covering his face with his hand in the process. "This is gonna be a pain in the neck…"

"C-Can you tell us your name…?"

That sudden question caught him off guard, and it quickly caused him to look up and see who just spoke. Luckily, he was able to catch her in the act just as she was finished talking, and it was the girl who was blushing earlier for whatever reason. What's strange about her was that she was still blushing up until now but nonetheless, it was a question that he pushed to back of his mind in order to answer the girl's question properly.

He folded his arms and simply raised an eyebrow, looking curious instead of being unamused. "Why the hell do you want to know my name and why should I tell you?" he asked.

Fuutarou turned his gaze towards the girl with that teasing look, who began to giggle in an earnest manner, which was very different to how she looked like while teasing him. Was this her being genuine with him or something?

"So we can be friends, silly! You said it, didn't you? We're only strangers to each other right now, but we can change that! Don't you have any friends?"

His response to that was short and simple, accompanied with a shake of his head.

"No."

The reaction it got from the girls was superb, because it got all of them to widen their eyes in total shock at what they just heard. Even the girl with the pout, who was trying to convince her sisters that he was a bad person, froze in her place and looked at him with her jaw slowly dropping open.

He didn't have any friends? That's gotta be a joke, right? That could be answer they needed, if only he didn't look completely serious while saying those words! How can someone like him have no friends? Everyone should have friends in their lives, and that's how they saw each other! They were not only family, but they were friends as well!

"Oh… that's… that's sad…"

Fuutarou didn't seem affected from the girl's reaction to his words, and simply shrugged his shoulders. It didn't really matter to him that he didn't have any friends, because he preferred being alone, but most people won't be able to understand such a thing.

"Whatever. I don't really care."

"We'll be your friends, then! You won't have to be alone!"

An energetic voice cut through the serious tension that was created between them, which Fuutarou recognized fairly quickly due to her cheerfulness. There's no doubt that the girl who spoke was the one he met during that little issue with the security guard. Alright, he was getting better at this! He could recognize three of them from their expressions and actions alone, and he didn't even know who they were!

So, they want to be 'friends' with him? He was really tempted to laugh at the idea for how stupid it sounded, but kept himself quiet.

"Hey, I don't want to be friends with him! He's bad!"

Ah, there's the tsundere among them. Her look of shock disappeared the moment one of her sisters suggested that they all befriend him, which was replaced by her pout from earlier. No, there was no way she will ever befriend this boy!

"Calm down, it's not the end of the world."

The girl with the blank expression spoke, and Fuutarou quickly took note of this. Okay, she didn't seem like she was open with her own emotions, but had a clear understanding of what's happening around her! She's also pretty reasonable… when she implied that he only wanted to be alone and he asked her if she had a problem with it, which led to her just shrugging her shoulders.

Hmm, maybe he can get along with that girl because they had the same mindset or something?

"I don't want to! Blegh!"

The pouting quintuplet continued to stubbornly shake her head and even stuck her tongue out in defiance, unwilling to entertain the idea of being friends with Fuutarou. Well, at least this girl had convictions?

Her sister, who was supposed to have a teasing look on her face, was replaced with a nervous expression before turning towards Fuutarou while chuckling to herself.

"Well? Care to tell us your name?" she asked, doing her best to pull off a friendly look with the rest of the girls willingly listening closely to see what he was going to say.

Would you look at that? He's already interacting with his future soulmates and he is confused about what to do! One of the five girls hates him now, all because he was being mean to hear. Jeez, I wonder who that is, lol. They have also asked for his name, and the chapter ended right there, so I guess we're gonna be seeing that in the next chapter. Heads up, the next one is gonna be the last of the Kyoto flashbacks for a while, because it is all from Fuutarou's POV but what about how the girls thought about this meeting? See you in 24 hours, guys!

Goodbye... and good night! BANG! *too sweet gesture*
