Jane POV

I arrive at the beach and see that everyone is already here. Our guests, few but carefully chosen: all the people present are our family, beyond blood ties.

The two cellists we hired begin to play: we asked them nothing "traditional" for this wedding, then we agreed individually with them for the "wedding marches", I choose yours and you mine, so as to give each other the right push. I don't immediately recognize what song it is, until... well, you surprised me this time too. In fact, played with strings it is not so immediate to recognise: you know how much I love rock, in particular Bon Jovi, so you chose "Always"... God, how much I love you!

I begin to walk under my brother's arm in that section of the walkway that separates me from the officiant and with each step I squeeze my brother's arm more tightly, in agitation. He is my rock, he looks at me and in an instant he sweeps away my fears.

"You are wonderful Jane. I'm proud to have a sister like you" he whispers to me, like when we were little and we used to say things quietly to not let our mother overhear us. Thinking about that memory calms me instantly. I meet your mother's gaze, sitting in the front row smiling, lowering her eyes ... she has entrusted the most precious thing for her to me: I will do everything to be worthy of it.

My brother leaves me a kiss on the cheek before going to sit down... I look at my super best man before allowing myself to turn my gaze to the sea, just for a second. Your insistence on getting married at all costs on the beach really has its why, I have to admit.

Korsak gives me a light tap with his elbow, discreetly and I turn around. I think I stopped breathing for a few seconds... it's like everything else is inside a bubble, I only see you, only you exist right now. And you truly are the most beautiful bride I've ever seen.

Maura POV

You have your back turned… you are looking at the sea, when I see Vince give you a nudge, pointing you in the right direction to turn your gaze. I hope you liked the song I chose for your entry, although I must admit that the man by my side played a fundamental role in a decision that was in line with your musical tastes.

"Are you ready Maura?" Kent asks me, to which I reply with a shy nod. The music is melodious, delicate, it seems to have been written especially for this type of instrument... you have chosen "Make you feel my love". Also on this occasion you did it, once again you managed to make me feel your love.

As I walk to reach you, I look at you and you are beautiful, the dress is gorgeous and your eyes are radiant. I part with Kent and stand by your side, after meeting the excited gaze of my bridesmaid Susie for a second.

"You are beautiful, I could not wait to tell you" you whisper to me, before the celebrant begins the rite.

"Love is the eternal force of life. Love is the force that allows us to face fear and uncertainty with courage. Today, on this beach, we are gathered to recognize this strength, to celebrate the love of Maura and Jane, who have decided to walk the path of marriage together, of a life together. They want to do it with you, their loved ones, their affections, you who have seen this love born and grow. Now, I would like to read you a short extract, taken from 'The art of marriage' by Wilferd A. Peterson... "

As he reads those words our eyes do not leave each other even for a second: each sentence seems to perfectly reflect our past and that which I hope will be our future together.

"Happiness in marriage is not something that just happens ..."

And we know how much happiness costs, how much sacrifice and commitment it requires.

"It is at no time taking the other for granted..."

We won't, I won't ... you are a too precious gift, Jane.

"It's not only marrying the right partner, it's being the right partner."

And I will be... for you. I will try with all my strength.

"Now is the time for your promises..." says the celebrant.

"Ok, I'll start..." I say taking the floor. I'm sure if I spoke after hearing your words, I probably wouldn't be able to control the emotion. So I take your hands in mine and turn completely towards you.

"Jane, I love you. I love everything about you, the way you greet me mumbling in the morning as soon as you get up, I love the effort you put into your work, your humanity. I love your clumsiness because it always manages to make me smile, even on the hardest days. I love your devotion, to me, but above all to our love... I know that by your side I will always be protected and loved. When I realized that I fell in love with you, I feared I was in trouble. It would have been impossible to do without you in my life. When I realized that my feelings were reciprocated, you made me the happiest woman in the world for the first time. And that was just the first of a long series of situations you made me feel this way! "

You understand that the emotion is about to take over, because I feel you hold my hands, as if to give me strength, so I take a breath and continue.

"I can't imagine living without you. I love you" I conclude, looking at your eyes and the effect my words have had on you. You are excited, I can read it on your face.

"Ok, well I think it's my turn now, right? Ok then ..." You're also a bit embarrassed, as you imagined it would happen. Now it's me holding your hands... you've already written everything on that letter.

"I knew that embarrassment would come forward right now, so I'll try to keep it simple. Maura, ever since I met you you have illuminated my life, you have made me happier, more vital... you have turned me on. You've always been there for me, long before we discovered our love. You're the best thing that could ever happen to me, and if you're happy, I'm happy too. "

I wonder how you do it... your heart is in your hand, your hands are shaking, despite my grip, but your eyes... your eyes are determined, sure and steadfast in what you are telling me.

"All that I am, I give it to you. I love you Maura"

We observe a few seconds of silence, then the celebrant gestures to the witnesses to hand us the rings.

"And now the exchange of the rings ..."

Susie hands me the ring and I take a deep breath, before taking your hand and turning my eyes back only to you. Every word, every single word I'm about to say is my promise to you, for our future. It is not a simple formula, it is full of meaning, of importance.

"I Maura Dorothea Isles take you Jane Clementine Rizzoli to be my bride and I promise to always be faithful to you, in joy and pain, in health and in sickness, and to love and honor you every day of my life." I say, admiring the wedding ring finally on your finger. Now it's your turn, I watch Korsak giving you the ring for me and he's really so excited. It touches me to see him like this.

You seem to be standing at attention as you cast your vows, not a single hint of hesitation in your voice.

"I Jane Clementine Rizzoli take you Maura Dorothea Isles to be my bride and I promise to always be faithful to you, in joy and pain, in health and in sickness, and to love and honor you every day of my life."

I feel you slide the ring over my ring finger. I watch you while you do it, I will never forget this moment, what I am feeling.

"With the power conferred on me by the state of Massachusetts I officially declare you wife and wife. You can kiss each other"

You do not allow the celebrant to almost finish the sentence that you take my face in your hands and kiss me. Was it possible that I already missed your lips from yesterday? I hug you, kissing you. We don't want to put on a show but happiness must be celebrated!

Jane POV

We can finally celebrate. Throughout the reception, whenever I can I hold your hand. Sometimes I'm so enchanted by seeing the wedding ring on your finger, that I can't resist the temptation to kiss you tenderly, right where that symbol of our love is.

There was a moment of the reception that I was looking forward to most of all... and it finally arrived: our first dance. We hardly ever go dancing, well... not since we're a couple at least. We have never loved that kind of place, we have always preferred the evenings in front of a beer in some pub. But all I want to do now is hold you to me, slow dancing, with your head resting on my chest.

So I get up and turn towards you, holding out my hand, asking you to follow me, without the need for words, only with a look. You grab it and as soon as we reach the center of the terrace, where they have set up the banquet, I stop and hold you to me, while the musicians start playing a melody that seems to have been written especially for us ...

What would I do without your smart mouth

Drawing me in and you kicking me out?

Got my head spinning, no kidding

I can't pin you down

What's going on in that beautiful mind?

I'm on your magical mystery ride

And I'm so dizzy, do not know what hit me,

But I'll be alright

I have wanted with my whole being, and then fled, trying to suppress my feelings... you made me fall in love with your absurd speeches, with your encyclopedic terms, with your wonderful mind. You look at me: you know that these words can only make me think of the beautiful woman who is here in my arms.

My head's underwater

But I'm breathing fine

You're crazy and I'm outta my mind

I remember the feeling that accompanied me as I tried to survive in the cold waters of Boston, when I dived to save that man... the thought of you was what gave me the strength to hold on, to stay alive. We are both crazy, out of the ordinary... for this reason we are perfect together! Your gaze does not leave me even for a moment.

Cause all of me loves all of you

Love your curves and all your edges

All your perfect imperfections

Give your all to me, I'll give my all to you

You're my end and my beginning

Even when I lose, I'm winning

Cause I give you all of me

And you give me all of you

I love you, completely, with all of me. You are my everything and without you, I am nothing. I will do everything to make you happy. I want to give you all of myself, you are the beginning and the end of my everything.

How many times do I have to tell you

Even when you're crying, you're beautiful too?

The world is beating you down

I'm around through every move

You're my downfall, you're my muse

My worst distraction, my rhythm and blues

Can't stop singing, this ringing in my head for you

You're so beautiful... the way your hair falls soft to your shoulders. I made you suffer, saw you cry... but I admire the strength you have in facing the trials that life puts before you. You are my inspiration, my muse. My days are marked by your presence, by the moments we spend together: I fall asleep in the evening by your side and every morning you are the first thing I see when I open my eyes; I just have to steal a kiss from you when we cross paths to turn a bad day into a wonderful one.

Feel these notes, the warmth of your body against mine, see your smile. We stay like that, letting ourselves be lulled by these harmonious notes. These are the first moments of our life together, this... is the beginning of our happiness.
