Matt "Elektra is many things but there's no way she'd do this..." Peter to sandman "excuse us." Sandman nodded while Peter set a hand on Matt's shoulder and walked with him off to the side for privacy. Peter was also doing it to protect Matt's identity. "Matt, listen—" "no Peter." Matt moved Peter's hand away. "Maybe the cardinal is dirty. Maybe not. But even Elektra still has a code..." "she's a mercenary Matt." "I know damned well what she is Peter."

Peter exhaled. He wanted to say more. Marko "you guys better check this out." The heroes shared a look before rejoining marko at the rooftop edge. Hand ninjas were showing up; along with hydra soldiers...

"What the hell is this?" Said Matt; his extended radar sense returning to his mind what their eyes saw. Peter "war." It was a good guess. All forces were moving heavy arms inside. "All against mutants?" Matt said in disbelief. "Apparently" said Peter. Matt "when do these forces ever work together? It doesn't add up." Peter "you're right it doesn't. But when you factor Mephisto into it..." Matt nodded "it all comes together." "Bingo."

Marko "do we call in backup?" Matt and Peter shared looks. "This will likely play out like the other church" said Peter. And that got Tasha hurt... but she had been right. He had a job to do. And he was in charge.

"We go in." Sandman nodded. Matt had his clubs ready. "Marvel alert shield." "Will do." "Let's go." "Approach?" Said Matt. "Through the front door."

Peter flew for the church's front door; marko as a sandstorm; and Matt inserted via baton grappler.

Peter was first from the improvised hero team to hit this weird assemblage of baddies. There was still a red skull in the mix too but even he was just another agent. The hell lord was always the real villain in this mix.

He shot suit generated web balls at the mixed baddies. It pelted them and scattered them. As he dove in he fired repulsor blasts next to hit more yet.

Marko surged ahead of Matt by hitting the unprotected baddies as a full on sandstorm. They immediately inhaled his countless particles and suffocated. Marko then ripped his particles through their bodies and reformed them into himself. His hands turned into large sand weapons. He bashed away and flattened them. The enemy fought back but as Peter knew well their fire/blows went right through marko's mutated structure to cause no harm. Peter blasted a few more before Matt dove in and went to town on the enemy. Matt focused on the hand ninjas as they were old enemies of his. Peter and marko focused on the others more.

Having these other heroes made all the difference. Peter was glad he didn't have to do it alone. He wished Tasha were here but that's the way it was for now. Do your job Pete. That's what she'd want. And you know it.

Peter continued to throw down with the enemy. He now flanked one side of Matt while marko the other. They were the most powerful and could better protect Matt this way.

New baddies came in. Probable hidden reinforcements. Peter felt them coming. "Heads up!" His allies adjusted their tactics.

Peter and Matt took on the baddies before the church while marko charged at the backup baddies and smashed his sand weapons into them. Sandman could buy them the extra time they needed.

Elektra then emerged from the church, twin sai in hand. Her and Matt's eyes locked despite all the fighting taking place. Peter saw this as he knocked baddies away. "Matt; focus!" This snapped Matt out of it and he kept fighting.

Elektra ordered hand ninjas into the fight. Peter didn't know what was going on with her or if she too had made a Faustian deal but right now she was bad until she wasn't. And she sure as hell seemed bad.

Then the cackle... oh shit! Goblin flew in; his glider guns fired at Matt and Pete. Pete quickly threw himself in the way of Matt and took the goblin's rounds on his spider armor. Goblin swooped up and came about. "Watch the air!" He told Matt. "Got it."

Goblin reached into his deadly bag of tricks and pulled out his famous Jack o lantern grenades and threw them at Peter and Matt. Peter targeted them with repulsors and hit them midair to explode them with both spider reflexes and suit scanners working together.

Goblin opened fire with his glider guns again. Again Peter took the rounds; but this time fired off his chest repulsor similar to iron man. The more intense beam clipped the glider's edge and goblin lost control. He flew off.

Peter spun to now find Matt engaging Elektra's forces in order to get to her. Ex's... marko was beating back the baddie backup good. The heroes still had the advantage for now. Now we have to finish this.

"We're not done yet Spider-Man!" Said goblin into his comms. What?! Suit scans showed that goblin's glider was now undamaged... but that's impossible... Mephisto...

The cackling villain fired off more missiles and gunfire this time in a combined salvo. Peter flew fast for Matt mid fight nabbed him with a web line and carried him out of harm's way.

The missiles struck wherever targeted and destroyed whatever they hit. Other baddies were hit as before at the first church. This was all just a game for Mephisto...

Peter landed out of harm's way caught Matt and set him down. "Thanks." "Sure thing." Marko was still winning on his end. Matt "we need to get back into it." "Agreed. On foot. Measure our strides." Matt nodded and they went forward.

Above goblin circled and came back for them...
