All rights to Kiera Cass. This book is designed to make story edits that largely follow the original plot. So even in the edited parts, it is often largely Cass's writing.

…. …. ….. …...

Author's note: This is it. The Epilogue is definitely in my top three favorite chapters of all the rewrites. Cass went for the wedding, but I felt like that wasn't the resolution of this version because it's more than just a love story. Hope you like it as much as I do!

Author's Note 2: A lot of you want a story with Rebecca so I'll put that on the list. It may be a while till I get there though so follow my profile! It will be one of the shorts I do and I will put all of those in the same story.

Author's Note 3: I'm glad you guys aren't mad about the king's death! I felt it was the poetic way for it to end, but I thought it may rub a few feathers.

EPILOGUE

MAXON AND I HAVE BEEN MARRIED for a few weeks now. Moving on from the attack was hard, there were so many people that were gone forever, but it could have been much worse. The worst of it was Anne, she had never reappeared.

My dad wasn't there to walk me down the aisle, but Aspen did. And I returned the favor by being the ring bearer at his wedding with Lucy. They had moved into a small cottage not too far from where my family was. Maxon bought a house for them so they could stay close and it was big enough that Kenna could come with Astra.

I was in Maxon and I's bedroom trying to read through a final piece of rebel entail before we had to go. "Maxon come look at Zuni. I wonder if they are trying to recover something from the mine? Or if there was more to the base."

(Harsh T warning: 7 paragraphs)

He walked up behind me and wrapped his hands around my waist. "Can't that wait? We have thirty minutes till we have to go and there's...other things I'd rather spend that time doing."

I couldn't help but smile, "Well if you help me, I can finish faster."

"Oh, I very much intend to help you finish. Just not the reports." He nipped at my ear.

I turned into him and kissed him. "It is a miracle we get anything done with your work ethic." I joked.

"Well you know: work hard, play hard…" He joked back.

The report fell to the ground almost forgotten as he picked me up and pushed me up against the wall. I broke the kiss "Agree to send extra spies to the mine area." he tried to kiss me again but I stopped him, "Work first."

"You can have all the spies you want." He agreed, kissing me again.

Thirty minutes came far too soon and we had to leave. King Maxon, former Queen Amberly, Princess Rebecca, and I, Queen America, piled into a car. There were four cars of guards around us. Security was high as we had a public event.

I stared at the one-story building that Maxon and I had poured our hearts into.

"Today we stand here today excited to present the final product of our orphanage. Queen America and I intend on implementing many of these around the country to give children of any caste with nowhere else to go a better option than the streets."

I spoke next. "While today this seems small, it is the first step in something much larger. The first change that comes from King Maxon and I's respect for our citizens' livelihoods. We love each of you for simply being a person and believe that alone gives you the right to live a full life. This is our promise to fight for you."

They took some pictures of us before Rebecca stepped up. She looked regal. The castle maids made her a beautiful purple floor-length dress with sheer sleeves. She was only wearing something so fancy because of the day. Otherwise, she had special permission from the king to wear pants. I smiled to myself knowing the dress was floor length solely to cover her sneakers. "As a former orphan myself, and one that got the chance to live with Queen America in the garden, it's hard to find the words of how much this means to me….It's hope. As an eightborn, hope isn't something I had a lot. But this is hope of something better. For all of us."

The cameras lingered, but they didn't bother me like they used to. I'll have to get used to living in the spotlight. I moved over to Amanda, Maryland, and October, pulling them into hugs. They were graduated kids we got to come work at the new orphanage. I knew as long as they were there this would work.

The other garden gremlins were still at the castle. The threat of rebel attacks decreased significantly after Maxon made his choice, mostly due to the Northern Rebels' intelligence. It was far better than anything we had ever gotten on our own. As such, they were able to play outside again and were happy working in the garden.

As we returned to the castle I caught a glimpse of Marlee and Carter kissing behind the stables. I have gotten to see them a lot more since becoming queen, and Marlee's expecting!

Maxon and I quickly moved up to the conference room, where the advisors were waiting for us. Though if I judged the mixture right this was the New Asia war group.

"Well My America, today is the day." Maxon declared.

"The day for what?"

"Didn't you ever wonder why my father insisted so strongly that you have no part in the war?" He asked.

I shook my head, should I have? The general spoke up, "It's because he was afraid you'd find a way to end it in ten seconds. The war is pointless, we have no good reason to be there, and are getting hundreds of men killed a day."

Marco handed me a pile. "Well your Majesty how do we end it?"

King Clarkson was wrong...it only took seven seconds. "If there's nothing we want from them, put troops here and here, while getting ready to bomb here. We won't have to deploy anything, we just need to get them talking. We'll offer a total retreat, a peace treaty, and a trade agreement…" I flipped the page, "Like we should have in the first place."

I caught Maxon's eye and looked up. He was looking at me in a way that spelled me into focusing on him and nothing else in the world. "What?"

He turned my chin and kissed me gently. "You're an amazing queen."

THE END.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE comment and tell me what you thought in the end. Even if you are reading this years later or haven't posted a single comment I would love to hear your final thoughts. The comments really are what makes me feel like real people actually read this and validates all the hours I pour into these projects.

And if you have a question I'll try to answer questions in the comment section so don't be discouraged!

Thank you for sticking with the story and I hope you had as much fun reading it as I did writing it!

If you like my selection rewrites follow my profile because I am planning on doing more stuff: a collection of short stories, probably a Georgia and August story, etc!

Where to go now?

- Right now I am also slowly posting my alternate story rewrite called The Junior Advisor. That story goes the direction of America being kicked out at the end of the Elite but stays in the castle as an advisor. It isn't the cute little Maxamerica story this is and is rated M. If you're looking for something a bit older you may want to give that a try!

- If you like my writing you can also check out my Wattpad ElizabethSeamoore for short stories and food for thoughts.
