We were shorter.
Our body shuddered. Only one of us knew how to finely control our body to maintain our powers, and something about our insides had changed to make it harder. "We've got this, don't worry," we said with our mouth.
"We hope... we can be good partners." We replied.
We stepped towards the bone wall, and we said, "Something feels different, from the other time," we said.
"Which time?" We responded, our memories blurring together strangely. "We're strange beings. Perhaps that is it."
We put our hand to the wall, and our hand liquified. But we were full of determination. Even rendered down, destroyed at a deep level, we maintained our form, a shimmering, glowing crimson liquid - our blood. But more than that. Our power... to escape our prison.
We stepped through the wall, flowing between the bones as every molecule in our body liquified from the damage, our immortality so absolute that destruction on the atomic level was not enough to slow us down. "Sorry, Sans," we said, "We're going to end this fight now."
Sans took a step back, fear visible in his eyes for the first time. "Oh sh-"
No.
"-it." Sans said.
We could feel the timeline in our hand - metaphorically. "Sans." We said, "We understand why you are worried. Don't worry. We won't kill time."
Something in us wanted to kill time, though. Something very deep, something very dark. A ball of searing black hatred. Something from our past. It was stirring. And with the timeline in our hand... it felt so easy to crush. We had to finish this quickly.
We quick-stepped in front of Sans, ext-
We said no, Sans. We meant it.
-ending our hand to touch him gently. He zipped away in a blur of blue and white, but where he landed, we were already there.
"Stagnet." Sans was pulled into our hand.
We closed our eyes. Having defeated Sans, only our fury remained.
But we figured that was going to happen. We focused and put everything we had into fighting off... not only Magia Erebea, but something deeper, more sinister. Something that came from both of us. We fought off the dark thoughts beneath the surface of our mind, pushing it back down, burning through our power...
...until we could feel ourselves falling asleep.
