RAW: 5/2/2007
Monday Night RAW was live at the Tyson Event Center in Sioux City, Iowa. A video airs recapping the Royal Rumble and some of the events that happened on SmackDown and ECW last week, as the Undertaker attempts to make his decision as to whom he'll face at WrestleMania 23.
We then go to the arena, and Adam-Martin Land looks like it's pretty excited for Wrasslin'.
The Undertaker's gong hit to a loud pop from the WWE fans and the Deadman came out to the ramp and begins making his way down to the ring. The WrestleMania 23 sign was shown hanging in the background.
"Yes, Ladies and Gentlemen, the Undertaker is here! Live on Monday Night RAW!" JR said. "We are live in Sioux City, Iowa. The Undertaker has a huge decision to make here tonight. We understand the Undertaker will decide which champion he will face at WrestleMania 23."
"It doesn't get any better than this!" Jerry said. "The Undertaker, making a rare appearance right here tonight on RAW! What a sight, JR. He has to choose between Batista, Bobby Lashley, and his own little brother, the Bladewolf. One of those three are about to find out if they will be the Undertaker's opponent at WrestleMania."
The Undertaker enters the ring and takes his coat off before lowering his head to take off his hat and lightning and thunder is heard as he does so, revealing hsi rolled up eyes. His theme dies down as the Deadman turns his stare to the stage, awaiting the arrival of the three World Champions.
OOOOOOWHOOOOOO!
The Devil's Wolf plays to a loud pop and the lights dim to a blood red, casting a sinister glow as the Bladewolf walks out with his WWE Championship around his waist. He makes his way down the ramp and steps onto the ring apron then steps foot over the top rope and enters the ring. He pulls his hood down then takes off his WWE Title and raises it without breaking eye contact with his brother.
"Brother staring down brother." JR said as Bladewolf's theme dies down. "This a match many have wanted ti see. Both are undefeated at WrestleMania, Bladewolf is 8-0 at WrestleMania, the Undertaker is 14-0."
"The end of the world will come if these two battle at WrestleMania!" Jerry exclaimed.
Bobby Lashley's theme hit next and out came the ECW World Heavyweight Champion. He makes his way down the ramp and enters the ring, meeting the Undertaker's stare as he raises his ECW World Heavyweight Championship.
Batista's theme hits next and out comes the World Heavyweight Champion. He makes his usual entrance and comes down to the ring, the Undertaker staring him down as he enters the ring.
Batista's theme dies down as the three World Champions stand in a line, staring at the Undertaker who stared back with a blank look. The Undertaker walks towards Bladewolf first and looks at the WWE Championship before he walks over to Bobby Lashley and stares him down, glancing at his ECW Championship. Undertaker then walks over to Batista and has an intense staredown with his partner for No Way Out
He pulled away from Batista but then got back in his face and gave the thumb across the neck signalling that he was picking Dave Batista. Bladewolf and Lashley backed up as Batista raises his World Heavyweight Championship.
Suddenly the DX theme hit and out comes Shawn Michaels who makes his way down the ramp and enters the ring. He stares the Bladewolf down, both men the current World Tag Team Champions.
Shawn grabs a microphone. "Oh my, oh my, oh my! I know! i know I have been quite the party crasher lately but it is obvious to me that the Undertaker has made his decsion. And I could not help but notice that leaves the WWE Champion, Bladewolf, without an opponent for WrestleMania!"
The crowd cheered at the idea of seeing Bladewolf and Shawn Michaels one on one at WrestleManai for the WWE Championship, similar to their WrestleMania 14 match that involved Stone Cold Steve Austin.
"So, I'm here to help a brother out-" Shawn was interrupted when Randy Orton's theme hits and out comes the Legend Killer.
"Shawn Michaels! Shawn Michaels, you ain't challenging the Bladewolf at Wrestlemania for the WWE Title...because I am!" Orton declared which got boos from the fans. "And I'm not asking for it, I'm demanding it. I will be the next WWE Heavyweight-"
Edge's theme hits and out comes Orton's partner in Rated RKO. Bladewolf just tilted his head at the mess of the WWE Title picture, he didn't care who he faced at WrestleMania, no one was taking his title off him,
Edge's theme dies down as Edge stares his partner down before speaking. "Okay, how do I put this so it's absolutely clear? you see, like the Undertaker and the Bladewolf, I have never lost at WrestleMania. So that means I deserve a title shot. Two undefeated guys at WrestleMania for the WWE title is what these people want to see."
Vince McMahon's theme hits and out comes the Chairman. "What in God's name are we doing standing in the middle of a cornfield in this godforsaken part of the country known as Iowa? Now it seems like everyone is challenging you, Mr. Bladewolf, but notice how no one is challenging the ECW Champion, Bobby Lashley. And the reason for that could very well be is Bobby Lashley is the best champion standing in the ring at that very moment. But I'm sure there's someone in the RAW Locker room who's gonna step forward tonight and challenge you, Mr. Lashley, and when they do, tonight you will defend the ECW World Heavyweight Championship. Now, Mr. Batista knows he's gonna face the Undertaker at WrestleMania. So therefore, Bladewolf, you are gonna be facing...who are you gonna be facing? I say we find that out...tonight. Because tonight, in that very ring, it will be Randy Orton vs Edge...vs Shawn Michaels! tonight there's a Triple Threat match! And whoever wins that match will face the Bladewolf at WrestleMania for the WWE Championship!"
The crowd popped for this as Vince's theme played. Bladewolf stared Shawn down before he turned his gaze to Rated RKO.
"Bladewolf's got his hands full." JR said. "It will be either Randy Orton, Edge, or Shawn Michaels he faces at WrestleMania for the WWE Championship! We will find out who the Bladewolf's 9th WrestleMania opponent shall be."
Later
The Main Event had come. It was Shawn Michaels vs Edge vs Randy Orton with the winner facing the Bladewolf at WrestleMania for the WWE Championship.
Michaels dove into the ring and Orton and Edge came right at him. The two stomped away on his body and put a pretty mean beat-down on him before tossing him through the ropes to the floor. The two spent some time arguing before RAW went to commercial break.
RAW comes back from commercial to Edge and HBK going at it. Edge hit a back suplex while Randy Orton rolled around on the outside of the ring. Edge whipped Michaels who drop kicked Orton through the ropes and then hit a Lou Thesz press before whaling away on him on the mat. Edge reversed the hold and hit a nasty boot to the face on HBK before planting him with a back breaker and going for a quick cover attempt.
Edge hit a body slam and went to the buckles but HBK cut him off. Edge threw him off before Orton tossed HBK into the buckles, crotching Edge on the buckles and laying out HBK. Orton hit his inverted back breaker and then gave a garvin stomp to HBK.
Michaels and Orton exchanged blows a little bit before Orton connected with a big European upper cut, flooring him. Orton gathered HBK and hit a standing drop kick and went for a cover but HBK kicked out. Orton continued with the Euro uppercuts, but HBK got a roll up. Orton kicked out and immediately RKO'd HBK. He went for the cover but Edge dragged him off.
Orton and Edge stared each other down. They shook hands before going at each other. Orton hit some blows before Edge caught him with a boot to the face. Orton went for an RKO but Edge pushed him off and went for a spear but Orton leap frogged him. The two both went for clotheslines and connected, leaving both laid out.
HBK got back into the ring and amped up the crowd. He began tuning up the band. Edge ducked under the kick and Orton caught it. Edge came through and hammered Orton with a spear, sending HBK careening to the corner. Edge turned around only to get cold cocked by sweet chin music. HBK covered Orton for the 1, 2, 3.
As Michaels celebrated his win, however...
OOOOOOWHOOOOOO!
The lights go out after the wolf howl and when they come back on...THE BLADEWOLF WAS IN THE RING!
Shawn turned around to see the WWE Champion standing there, still dressed as he was earlier tonight at the start of the show, with the WWE Championship in hand. Michaels walked up and got in the Bladewolf's face.
Batista's music and he came out to the ramp. Undertaker came out to the ramp and he and Batista stared each other down while HBK and the Bladewolf did the same these four men will team and face the other duo at No Way Out...
I really, REALLY, loved the buildup for No Way Out 2007. 2007 was one of the WWE's best years, especially for the Undertaker, he won the Royal Rumble, he became World Heavyweight Champion, remained undefeated at WrestleMania, and was in the best shape then.
