AN: Hello Everyone, I'm back with a new chapter!
Previously: Skye turned 18, she and Bobbi kissed and learned they were platonic soulmates, Christmas has passed, and she, Sharon and Maria have had sexytime.
When Sharon, Maria, and Skye arrived in the shared common room, Peggy looked at them, "So that is why you are late," Peggy said, amused. Skye's face got as red as a tomato, Natasha laughed.
"Sorry, we were distracted," Sharon said with a smirk, sitting down on a chair and pulling Skye down on her lap.
"Hmm, I can see that," Peggy said with a thoughtful look.
"What is it Peggy?" Maria asked.
"I was just thinking about your soulmate bond, and that it would probably be muted or not existing at all, yet. Not until and if we restore your and Sharon's words, on Skye," Peggy said to Maria.
Skye swallowed hard, and leaned in to Sharon, who wrapped an arm around her. Maria looked back to Skye in question and said, "It's up to you, if you want the words back."
Skye was quiet for a few minutes, "I think I would like them back. I can kind of feel you through the soulmate bond, though it feels like I am under water or something. I know it is a deeper kind of feeling, then the wolf bond, even if it is damped, if that makes sense?" Skye said, looking up to Sharon and then looking at Maria.
"It does, I feel the same kind of bubble with you, that I don't with Maria, but like Maria said, it is up to you. You are the one that has to undergo the procedure to get the words back," Sharon said.
"If we have to do this, I would like to do it before you present," Peggy said.
"Why?" Skye asked confused, Peggy smiled at Skye's confused face.
"Because if you present as a Sigma, Beta, or even an Alpha you will probably try to challenge Sharon or Maria for a higher rank in the pack, and depending on if you win or lose, that will be your rank. I am afraid though that your presenting and the procedure would have a bad side effect, if you were to present first and then we did the procedure," Peggy said.
"So, we have to do it tonight?" Sharon asked.
"Yes. If we don't, we have to wait, I would say at least a year, before we can do the procedure, so it doesn't get mixed into the pack hierarchy," Peggy said.
"Okay," Skye said.
"What?" Maria asked.
"I want to do it tonight, I don't think I can wait a year. I don't like the feeling or the knowledge that our soulmate bond is dampened. We have been talking about this for months," Skye answered, only now noticing that Natasha and Kara had left the room, probably giving them some privacy.
"Okay, do you want to do it now, or after dinner? I would recommend we did it now. You can after all present any moment," Peggy asked.
"Now," Skye said.
"Okay, follow me," Peggy said, walking towards the door with Skye, Sharon, and Maria following.
They went to the small medical area of the Lair, "Only Skye is to come, you two can wait here. I have already informed Kara and Natasha, and they are on their way," Peggy said.
"Why are Nat and Kara coming?" Sharon asked.
"To make sure you two don't interrupt me while I am doing the procedure. Remember, there is a big chance this won't work, it only has a thirty-five percent success rate," Peggy answered.
Maria and Sharon looked at each other, then at Skye, "Okay, let's hope it works, but why would we interrupt?" Maria asked.
"You have already bonded, so what do you think will happen when I start to restore your marks?" Peggy asked. When Maria and Sharon just gave Peggy a lost or confused look, Peggy sighed, "You both will react to the distress Skye will be in. It will hurt, a lot, and can't be stopped once I have started," Peggy said.
"Uh," Sharon said while Maria looked down, Skye had been standing in the doorway, watching the conversation unfold. Down the hall she could see Natasha, Kara, and surprisingly Samantha too.
"Sam, I didn't know you were here," Skye said, stopping Peggy staring Maria and Sharon down.
"I just arrived, and met Nat and Kara, they told me what was happening. I thought I could offer my help since it can be dangerous to do this alone, Peggy," the Sigma said, giving Peggy a hard look, which Peggy allowed, to Skye's surprise.
"I am well aware Samantha. if I had known you would be here, I would have asked for your help," Peggy said calmly and smiled at Samantha.
Skye was confused by the dynamic between Peggy and Sam. She had started noticing that Sam and Peggy had a weird relationship, like what just happened. Skye knew that if it had been anyone else who called Peggy out like that, they would have been done for. She didn't have time to ask though, before she was rushed into the room and the door closed, but she did manage to see Nat and Kara position themselves in front of the room door.
"Okay Skye, we need you to take off your shoes, socks, pants, hoodie, and shirt and please lay down on this table," Sam said.
"That table looks cold," Skye said while she took off her clothes, Sam chuckled.
"I think you are right about it being cold," Sam said, laying a hand on top of the metal table.
Skye groaned, but jumped on top of the table, "Okay, I am getting a little nervous about this," Skye said.
Peggy laid a calming hand on Skye's shoulder, "You can still back out, no one will think any less of you," Peggy said gently.
"No, I want to do this," Skye said, determinant. "I'm ready," Skye said, taking a deep breath and laying down, squirming a little at the cold metal she was lying on.
"Okay, put this in your mouth," Peggy said, holding a weird short looking thick tube out to Skye.
"What is it?" Skye asked.
"Since we can't give you any pain reliever, we can give you this, to bite down on. It won't make the pain any less, but it will help. It is made of a material that Leo and Jemma made, so it will hold up, and not break," Peggy said.
"So it is like biting on a stick?" Skye asked amusedly.
"Yes, it is, we also have to restrain you," Peggy said, watching Skye's reaction.
"O-okay," Skye whispered nervously.
After Skye was restrained and the tube thing was in her mouth, Peggy asked if she was ready to begin, to which Skye nodded. At first Skye felt nothing, but then it itched, then became uncomfortable, and then it started to hurt. Soon after that, Skye was screaming through her clenched teeth on the tube.
Maria was leaning on the wall in front of the door Skye was behind, with Natasha beside the door, Sharon on Natasha's other side, and Kara on the other side of the doorway, when they heard Skye's muffled screams.
Natasha was fast to pin Sharon against the wall, while Kara jumped in front of Maria, "Easy Maria, remember Peggy said not to interrupt her," Kara said, knowing that between the two of them, Maria was the strongest.
Maria stopped in her tracks and growled angrily at Kara, before turning around and punching the wall.
"Why don't we move away from this hallway and more importantly the door?" Natasha asked, letting go of Sharon who had stopped trying to get past her.
Maria growled at Natasha.
"No, I am not leaving this hallway without Skye," Sharon also growled at Natasha.
Natasha put her hands up in surrender, "Okay, we'll stay," Natasha said looking to Kara who looked relieved that there wasn't going to be a fight.
Over the next two-and-a-half hours, all that could be heard was Skye's muffled screams, growls from both Sharon and Maria, and Sharon and Maria's pacing.
During this time, both Maria and Sharon had started to rub the spots where Skye's words were on them.
When Samantha opened the door Maria, who had sat down with her head between her legs to try to block out the screams, jumped up and stood beside Sharon, "We're done," she said.
"Was it a success?" Maria asked hopefully.
"Yes, it was," Sam answered smiling.
Maria and Sharon rushed into the room, where they saw Skye laying on a metal table breathing hard and full of sweat. Peggy had helped Skye dress in something loose fitting.
Skye turned her head to them when they entered, "I want to see," Skye said.
Maria was about to ask what she wanted to see when she saw Sharon lift up her shirt to show black words on her left upper hip. She understood Skye wanted to see her words on them, so Maria turned around and pulled her shirt off to show Skye her left shoulder blade.
"Can we see ours too?" Sharon asked gently, Skye nodded. Sharon and Maria looked first at the one on Skye's shoulder close to her collarbone, Sharon almost purred at the sight. It was her words to Skye; the scar was still there but they could read the words I was too when I had my first. Sharon couldn't stop herself, she reached out and ran her fingers over the words, Skye shivered and winced.
"Careful Sharon, the areas are sore. Skye needs to rest, and eat; we still haven't eaten, we can reschedule our dinner plans to another day," Peggy said.
Sharon nodded while Maria went to pick Skye up bridal style, "Hmm, I like this," Skye mumbled and buried her face in Maria's shoulder, before wincing again.
"Come on, let's get you somewhere more comfortable and get some food in us," Sharon said.
Skye just mumbled something no one understood, "Thank you Peggy and Sam for doing this, it means a lot to us," Sharon said.
"Glad I could help," Sam said nodding, before walking away.
Natasha and Kara came closer, "Do you think you three are up for breakfast or lunch tomorrow?" Kara asked, her and Natasha had talked about it while Sharon and Maria were fussing over Skye.
"We will let you know if Skye is up for it," Sharon answered.
"Of course," Natasha said, looking at Skye in Maria's arms, "she is a tough one," she commented.
"Yeah, she is," Maria said lovingly.
Peggy then shooed them out of the room and told Maria and Sharon to get Skye comfortable.
When Maria and Sharon had said their goodbyes to Kara and Natasha, they went to their lair and laid Skye on one of the couches and got their duvets and pillows. Skye woke up when a pillow was put under her legs. She blinked a few times looking around, her eyes landed on Maria who was kneeling in front of her.
"Hi, are you okay?" Maria asked.
"Yea- ahh," Skye whimpered when she had tried to sit up, Maria was at her side immediately, with Sharon not long after.
"What happened?" Sharon asked concernedly.
"Nothing, I am just sore. I am fine now," Skye assured them.
Maria was about to say something, but Skye's stomach rumbled. Maria smiled, "Dinner should be ready in a minute, right Sharon?" Maria said.
"What? Oh yeah, it is done. I was in the process of putting food on our plates, when I felt Skye was in pain and you panicking," Sharon answered. "You sure you're okay?" Sharon asked looking at Skye.
"Yes," Skye answered, pulling first Sharon down for a kiss and then Maria to assure them. Sharon nodded and went to get the food.
She returned a few minutes later with the food. She handed Maria her plate first and then sat down on Skye's other side and handed her her plate, "So what are we watching?" Maria asked.
