I poured through the holonet searching for any information about Maul leaning against the couch. Obi wan was sitting at the desk.
"Kenobi I haven't found anything from the crime families relating to Maul or Savage." I told the worn and exhausted looking man.
"We have to find something." He rubbed a hand through his hair.
"Get some sleep I'm going to continue." I said he opened his mouth in protest. "Your no use to me or this search without rest." I looked at him
"Fine wake me if you find anything" he said. I nodded.
I flipped through the data and information endlessly coming up empty article after article.
"You should be asleep" Thira said when she stepped through the door.
"I will in a bit. How was the bar?" I asked
"It's fine get some sleep it wouldn't kill you to take a break." She said plucking the data pad from my hands.
"Fine" I said I sent her a smilie before walking into our bedroom laying on the bed. Sleep coming easily but not peacefully.
I was woken by my comm beeping
"Embo do you know what time it is." I groaned.
"Sorry but we know you work for the Jedi what the hell are they doing attacking the Hutts?Sugi asked
"What are you talking about?" I sat up.
"We were on Nal Hutta and two Psycho Zabaraks attacked Gardullas palace we barely escaped with our lives" she said.
"Do you know where they went?" I urged
"No we had fled before they left." She said.
"Alright thank you be careful." I said they both nodded before ending the call. I opened the guest room. Kenobi sat up."They were on Nal Hutta they attacked the hutts. They left the system going who knows where" I told him.
" we must speak with the council. " he said I nodded.
" Babe we will be back" I shouted. The two of us left not giving her the chance to say anything.
We took of in a speeder to the temple.
"Master Jedi. I come bearing news about Maul and Savage they launched an attack on the Hutt clans and my sources in the underworld say that the pykes and black sun have joined them as well." I said. The council eyed me curiously.
"What do you have to say about this Master Kenobi" Windu said
"I believe that this is officially a large problem." Kenobi said.
"Discuss it we will" Yoda said
"Of course master" Kenobi said the two of us left.
"Speak to you I must Obi Wan" Yoda said. We walked into the war room.
" We received this transmission from Duchess Satine,"
"This is a message for Obi-Wan Kenobi. I've lost Mandalore, My people have been massacred. Obi-Wan I need your help." She said she was surrounded by Mandalorian soldiers the largest wearing a helmet with the horns of maul on them.
"Your thoughts on this master kenobi." Yoda said
"Satine has been at odds with the Death Watch for years. And according to a report from Padawan Tano, they're no longer in league with the separatists. If there was a take over on mandalore it was most likely an independent act caused by the Death Watch alone." Kenobi said
"Without involvement from the seperatists, this is an internal affair for the Mandalorians. I'm afraid we cannot help." Mundi said
"We cannot just hand Mandalore over to these crime families and let Satine become a martyr." Kenobi said
"I'm afraid her decision to keep Mandalore neutral makes this situation difficult." Mundi said
"Understand your feelings I do, Obi wan. But to take action support from the Republic senate we will need." Yoda said
"You know what the senate will decide. They will not send aid to a neutral system." Kenobi said
"At this time, nothing more can we do." Yoda said
" Wait a minute I just freelance I can go on a job and bring Kenobi with as an aid" I said. Yoda and Mundi looked at each other before nodding.
We flew into Mandalorian space. The crap ship smoking as we enter the atmosphere. The engine spluttered.
"Ah. Ah! Anakin that's the last time I borrow a ship from you." Kenobi said he grabbed the helmet and we walked to the hangar. The ramp got stuck half way. I stomped on it and it lowered most of the way. Kenobi and I jumped out and smacked the hydraulics oil leaking down them .
"You better get your ship looked at." A soldier said
"Oh it's my friends ship."kenobi said leaning on the ramp. It dropped sending him tumbling he barely caught himself.
"He told us it was perfectly fine." I said a piece of metal fell of the ship.
"Terribly sorry about that." Kenobi said
"Do you have a landing permit?" he asked.
"Uhm I think I left it in the ship. Come with me and I'll get it." Kenobi said. The two of them entered the ship and I snuck and jumped one of the female soldiers. I tied her up and stole her armor throwing her in a spice container.
I stepped back towards the ship as Kenobi stepped out.
He pulled on the helmet and we walked to the transport.
"Let's hope this works I whispered as we neared the prison. We stepped inside and began searching for the duchess.
We stopped at her cell her back to us. I opened the cell and Kenobi stepped inside.
"Here to do more of your masters bidding?" She asked. Kenobi removed his helmet dramatically
"I do my own bidding." He said.
"Obi-Wan." Satine hugged him."are you alone?" She asked
"Nope nice to see you again Duchess" I said popping my head in.
"But the Jedi council and galactic senate will be of no help to us here," Kenobi said he grabbed her arm and we left stepping up to the lift he secured the helmet.
"I'm sure you have an escape plan." She said
"As always, my dear." Obi wan replied. The lift opened and another guard stood in front of the lift Kenobi forcefully pushed the duchess into the lift.
"There's no record of a prisoner transfer here."the guard said.
"The order came from upstairs." Kenobi replied
"What's the authorization code?" He asked.
"Oh um.." Kenobi said. I slammed my fist into the guys face knocking him out. We snuck back into the transport.
"Hey you! Stop!"A gaurd shouted.
We took of in the speeder towards the ship. I fired my blaster at them. We boarded the ship. I started the guns firing at the soldiers.
"We have to contact my sister for help. She'll send reinforcements." Satine said
"Who's your sister?" Kenobi asked
The ship took off an explosion rocked its left flank.
"Brace yourselves!" I shouted. We were going down the ship beeped rapidly
"Let's get out of here " Kenobi shouted. We opened the hangar door and were sucked out onto the platform. I covered my head as the ship exploded. I shook my head trying to clear my blurred vision. My body ached all over
"No it can't be." Kenobi said standing and igniting his lightsaber. He was lifted into the air by Maul and dropped his lightsaber. I watched Savage pick up the duchess and as the death watch surrounded me.
"We meet again Kenobi welcome to my world." Maul said"take them back to the palace."
We were dragged into the throne room. Maul took a seat on the throne the duchess kneeling beside him.
"Your noble flaw is a weakness shared by you... and your duchess." Maul lifted Satine in the air, force choking her. Kenobi leaned forward and was pulled back" you should have chosen the dark side, Master Jedi. Your emotions betray you. Your dear and yes your anger. Let your anger deepen your hatred." Maul said
"Don't listen to him Obi—" Satine said
"Quiet." Savage growled.
"You can kill me but you will never destroy me. It takes strength to resist the dark side. Only the weak embrace it." Kenobi growled
"It is more powerful than you know." Maul said
"And those who oppose it are more powerful than you'll ever be." Kenobi said." I know where your from I've been to your village. I know the decision to join the dark side wasn't yours. The nightsisters made it for you."
"Silence you think you know me?" Maul started to monologue. I listened blankly keeping my gaze focused on Satine. Satine was pulled into the dark saber it punctured through her. She gasped. The soldiers let Kenobi go and he ran towards her.
I watched as she died in his arms and I saw Mauls smug expression. Anger rised in me
"Imprison them below let him drown in his misery." Maul said."Take them to their cell to rot."
We were lead away. One of the gaurds cried out in pain
"It's the rebels!" Another shouted. Kenobi kicked the man away as his jet pack exploded.
"Sorry I don't believe we've met. You are"kenobi said she ignited the lightsaber and cut out bonds
"Bo-Katan . I'm here to rescue you." She said
"Sounds good to me" I said.
"You ever use one of these before?" She asked
" no but in this case I'm a fast learner" Kenobi replied. We took off. We entered a tunnel and were shot at. We returned the fire before the hangar doors opened a fire fight was raging on the platform.
"Maul must really want you dead." Bo-Katan muttered.
"You have no idea." Kenobi replied. We foughtboarding a ship.
"Go back to your republic and tell them what has happened." Bo said
"That would likely lead to a republic invasion of Mandalore." Kenobi said
"Yes and maul will die. But Mandalore will survive. We always survive now go" she said
"You Satines sister aren't you? I'm so sorry" I said. We boarded the ship and made our escape back to the republic leaving Mandalore in flames.
