The next day had arrived and Droite had invited Kaito out to meet her in front of his place. She didn't tell him exactly what the reason was, but Kaito could tell that it was something serious from the tone of her voice.
"You know, you guys didn't have to tag along." Droite was embarrassed because it was looking like she needed the help of Yuma and his friends, who were following her, to fight Kaito.
"How could we miss this? The duel is gonna be amazing!" Yuma exclaimed. He and his three girlfriends had spent the whole evening teaching as much as they could to the butterfly lover in preparation for her duel.
The group walked to Kaito's place, descending down into the underground area where the training area was situated. Upon reaching the gate, Droite turned to them. "Follow this hallway to the observation deck." She said, to which they agreed, with Yuma being dragged by the others, to do as told, leaving Droite to do this by herself. She took in a deep breath as she opened the door, revealing Kaito in his old clothing style, albeit larger, standing in the room.
"You came." He said, watching her take position on the other side of the room. "I guess you remember this room, correct? This is where we met."
"I do. It is also where I started to fall for you…" She said, then she looked at her duel disk. "Kaito, must we really do this?"
"I'm afraid I need to confirm everything like this, Droite. I see no other way, really. Words can be cheap, you know that as well, so better speak with actions" He replied, getting his duel disk on as well, the tattoo materializing on his face. "Ready?"
Droite clenched her fist, frustration washing over her. But she was not about to give up now, especially since she had to ask for help. Her pride would not allow it. "Ready!" She said, getting herself ready as well.

"It has begun" Dr. Faker said, looking down at the duel. He groaned as he watched his son's actions. "Damn it, Kaito."
"Is Miss Droite going to be ok?" Haruto asked, then Kotori jumped to answer.
"Of course she is!" She replied cheerfully and put on a bright smile. "Kaito is her boyfriend, so he won't harm her!" Then she thought to herself "I hope"
"I will take the first turn! I draw!" Kaito declared, drawing his card. "I summon forth Photon Thrasher!" A monster with a blue, glowing body covered in blue armor with one single, red glowing eye appeared on the field wielding a sword; 2100/0, Level 4, Warrior, LIGHT "Then I summon Photon Crusher!" A monster similar to the first emerged, only that it was slightly larger with its armor being a blue-green color and wielding a larger, blunt weapon; 2000/0, Level 4, Warrior, LIGHT
"Two monsters with 2000 or more attack" Droite muttered, reading Kaito's moves. Galaxy-Eyes was coming.
"I overlay my two Level 4 monsters!" He declared, catching her off-guard. "Xyz Summon! Descend, Starliege Lord Galaxion!" A monster clad in white armor over its bluish body appeared on the field, its armor expanding on the back to create wings and the helmet extended with spikes, creating the image of a crown of sorts. The monster was wielding two, energy-based blades in its hands;2000/2100, Rank 4, Warrior, LIGHT, OU: 2
That monster was unexpected...and new. Droite now knew one thing; she tried to read his moves based on past duels, but she sees now it is not going to work. "I use both of Galaxion's overlay units to summon Galaxy-Eyes from the deck!" He declared, throwing his arm up as the units ascended into the ceiling, entering a galaxy-like portal that emerged, then the roar of the dragon was heard. In the next second, the dragon descended, it's radiant blue body glowing powerfully in contrast with its dark-blue armor and red detailing, its beautiful, galaxy-like eyes that gave it its name looking over the field; 3000/2500, Level 8, Dragon, LIGHT.
"I set two cards face-down, ending my turn." Kaito said, then he looked at Droite. "Show me what you can do, Droite!" He urged her, making her slightly flinch.
"Kaito is not kidding around" Yuma noted. "Galaxy-Eyes on the first turn is a strong start for him"
"My turn…" She muttered. "I draw!" She shouted, drawing her card. It was a good draw. "I activate the spell, Gathering of the Butterflies! Due to its effect, if there is an Xyz monster on the field, I can pay 1000 Life Points to summon two Butterspy monsters from my deck in attack position! I summon Blue Mountain Butterspy and Swallowtail Butterspy!"
Droite: LP: 4000 - 3000
She said, watching her monsters appear on the field. They both looked like a mix between a human and butterfly, the lower parts being a butterfly's tail and having the wings while the upper side was covered in armor and each had a weapon. Blue Mountain had blue wings and armor and wielded what looked like pikes with shields attached to them; 0/1700, Level 4, Warrior, DARK. Swallowtail had orange wings and wielded two blades; 1800/1200, Level 4, Warrior, DARK.
"Going for your own Xyz summon?" Kaito said, but Droite smirked.
"Not quite. You see, I am familiar with Galaxy-eyes anti-Xyz effect and its capabilities, so I came prepared." She took another card from her hand. "I activate the Field Spell, Garden of the Butterspy!" The surrounding area around them changed itself, becoming a lush garden filled with flowers of many colors, multiple butterflies flying about.
"A field spell?!" Kaito gasped in mild surprise. He never knew she had something like that.
"Ha! That was a card she added in at my request!" Cathy said, smiling smugly. "It is bound to give her the edge!"
"Due to my Field Spell's effect, upon activation, I can target cards on my opponent's field up to the number of Butterspy monsters on my field and return them to the hand!" She declared, then she pointed at his back row. "I target your two face-downs!"
"Then I might as well use one of them - The trap, Eternal Galaxy!" He shouted, activating his trap. Suddenly, Galaxion was absorbed into the overlay network again. "If I control a Galaxy or Photon monster, I can target one XYZ monster on my field, and use it as material to summon a Photon or Galaxy monster that is four ranks higher!"
"Ranking up four ranks?!" Droite gasped.
"That is-" Faker's breath hitched. "Kaito, you have grown…"
"Ranking up not once, or twice, but four times?!" Yuma shouted out. "Oh man, I have to pick up the pace again!"
"And not only. This is a new addition as well. Number 62 brought a new friend over." Kaito said, making the ones in the stands widen their eyes as well. "Descend! Number 90!" The galaxy-like portal exploded, then the glow of the number 90 appeared. "Galaxy-Eyes Photon Lord!"
The new Number descended onto the field, its body shining in the light brightly. Its body was blue and shining like other Photon monsters, but it was also covered in a white cloth with golden edges around its body, then everything was covered by a dark-blue armor and armed with a shield made of what seemed to be a thick shell with the number 90 engraved on it and a large light-blue energy blade, yellow gems present in his shield, shoulders, knees, and hips; 2500/3000, Rank 8, Warrior, LIGHT, OU: 1.
"Oh, I remember that one!" Yuma shouted, pointing at the new Xyz. "Me and Astral recovered it from some guy! I never realized it goes with Kaito's deck until now, so Number 62 actually did well dragging him along."
"A new number…" She muttered, then the other card returned to Kaito's hand. She then shook her head. "But I cannot just stay awed and let you win. I use my field spell's other effect! Once per turn, if I control a Butterspy monster on my field while my opponent controls an Xyz monster, I can Xyz summon using only one monster as material! I overlay both my monsters to double Xyz summon!"
The two monsters entered two separate overlay units. "Descend! Photon Alexandra Queen and Photon and Photon Papilloperative!" Two female monsters appeared on the field, each having large butterfly wings on their back. The first one had large pink wings with a light-blue glow in their center along with a white cloak covering their body with its lower body being that of a butterfly's abdomen; 2400/1200, Rank 4, Warrior, LIGHT, OU: 1.The other one had large black and purple wings and its lower body was actually humane, with legs. It was dressed in a blak suit with its face covered, gracefully floating above the field. 2100/1800, Rank 4, Warrior, LIGHT, OU: 1.
"Two Xyz monsters at once? But...They are Photon monsters." Kaito said, then he grabbed a card from his hand. "I activate the Trap, Photon Rebellion! When my opponent controls a Photon monster, I can activate this card from my hand! This is the other card you returned to my hand, Droite."
"A trap from his hand?!" Anna shouted out. "I thought only Yuma did that kind of thing!"
"It looks like Yuma rubbed off a bit on Kaito as well," Gauche noted. "He learned a few new tricks."
Droite clenched her teeth seeing that her field spell was useless in the end. "Due to my trap's effect, I target the Photon monster with the highest attack on the field, then force all other monsters my opponent controls into defense position!" Droite's monsters both crossed their arms, going into defense. "Then, for each Photon monster affected, I draw 1 card!" He drew two new cards.
Droite, however, smiled. "Then it is good I never planned for my monsters to stick around." Kaito looked back at her. "I activate the spell, Photon Liberation!" She declared, her two monsters vanishing. "By tributing two or more Photon monsters, I can then reduce the attack of all monsters on my opponent's side of the field to 0 until the End Phase!"
"What?!" Kaito gasped as he watched both of his monsters lose their glow. Both of their attack values dropped to zero.
"She got him!" Anna and Cathy shouted together.
"And I am not done!" She continued. "Since an Xyz monster on my field was tributed, I special summon Monarch Butterspy!" She declared as a new female monster with the lower body of a butterfly appearing on the field, this one having large orange and black wings with two antennas stretching from its head while a cloak covered its eyes; 1000/2000, Level 4, Warrior, LIGHT. "When Monarch is special summoned by its own effect, I can revive as many monsters in my graveyard up to the number of monsters you control! Return, Blue Mountain, Swallowtail!" Her two other monsters returned to the field. "I overlay my three Level 4 monsters!" She declared, watching her monsters turn into streams of energy as they went into a galaxy-like portal. "Descend! Marbled Butterspy!" A new monster took to the field, this one having a more humane body with actual human legs appeared on the field wearing a white and black jumpsuit with two large white and black wings on its back, its eyes large and fully black surrounded by a dark-blue mask and two daggers strapped to her hips; 2600/1700, Rank 4, Warrior, LIGHT, OU: 3.
"That's new." Kaito mused, then he analyzed the situation. His monsters had no attack value, but his dragon still had his effect. If she attacks him, then he can banish both monsters and even give Galaxy-Eyes a boost. The only one who will suffer is Photon Lord.
"That monster is something she was hesitant to use" Kotori said. "But we managed to convince her."
"Battle! Marbled Butterspy attacks Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon!" She declared, shocking everyone, but Kaito turned his gaze.
"Have you learned nothing?! Galaxy-Eye activates his effect, banishing both of our-"
"No! It is you who hasn't learned!" She replied, stunning him. "When an opponent's monster tries to activate their effect during the Battle Phase, by detaching one overlay unit, that effect is negated and that monster is equipped to Marbled Butterspy as an equip spell!"
"What?!" Kaito gasped seeing his dragon try to fight back, sending forth a stream from its maw only for Marbled to fly above it and dodge it, then throw one of her daggers through a overlay unit into Galaxy-Eye's chest, the dragon vanishing as the dagger itself started glowing blue, Marbled picking it up again and setting it on her hip. Kaito girths his teeth seeing his dragon captured. Silver lining? He didn't take any damage. She wasted the attack.
"Now, that is what I call a twist!" Gauche shouted. "Way to go, Droite!"
"I move to my main phase 2." Droite said, her monster settling next to her. "I set 1 card face-down on my field, ending my turn. At this moment, the final effect of my field spell activates, forcing all monsters on the field to defense position." She said as all monsters switched to defense.
Droite: LP: 3000. H: 2
VS Kaito: LP: 4000. H: 4
"My turn!" Kaito declared. "I draw!" He drew his card, giving it a look. "I must admit Droite, working around my dragon's effect and taking it down like that is not half bad. But I didn't reach this level without knowing how to use other cards. I activate the spell, Galaxy Trance! I pay 2000 Life Points to summon a Photon monster from my graveyard and one Galaxy monster from my deck! Come! Photon Crusher and Galaxy Wizard!" A monster resembling a cleric with a large, dark-blue cloak around it with its head covered by a large white head-piece appeared on the field; 0/1800, Level 4, Spellcaster, LIGHT.
Kaito: LP: 4000 - 2000
"He was willing to pay heavy Life Points to activate that card…" Yuma mused, then he narrowed his gaze. "Droite better be ready...He is planning something"
"Both of their effects are negated and their attack becomes 2000, but now I sacrifice them both to summon Photon Caesar!" He declared, then the two monsters vanished, revealing a larger monster dressed in royal armor with a large blade and shield in its hands; 2000/2800, Level 8, Warrior, LIGHT. "When Photon Caesar is normal or flip summoned, I can special summon a copy of it from my hand or deck! From my deck, I summon another Photon Caesar, then I activate Nova Galaxy!"
"This continuous spell allows me to attach a Galaxy monster to an Xyz monster I control once per turn from my hand or field!" He explained. "Now, I overlay my two Level 8 Caesars!" He shouted, then the overlay network appeared, a blade falling from the sky before him. "Descend at my command…" He grabbed it, then he threw it upwards. "Number 62! Galaxy-Eyes Prime Photon Dragon!"
The monster resembling Galaxy-Eyes appeared on the field, the number letting out a powerful roar as it hit the field; 4000/3000, Rank 8, Dragon, LIGHT, OU: 2 "Then, via the effect of Nova Galaxy, I attach Galaxy-Eyes Afterglow Dragon to it as material from my hand!" Kaito stated, adding another material to his dragon. "I switch Lord to attack mode, and move to the Battle Phase! Lord attacks Marbled Butterspy!"
Droite allowed the attack to commence, watching Kaito's monster swing its blade down at her monster, but only for it to be stopped by a barrier. "What?!" Kaito gasped seeing the barrier protecting her monster. "What is going on?"
"The effect of Marbled Butterspy makes it so while it is in defense position and equipped it cannot be destroyed by battle!" Droite explained, watching Kaito's expression shift.
"She is safe!" Haruto cheered, but then he turned to his father.
"No, she is not…" Dr. Faker said. "My son still has a card in his hand"
"Well, this requires some change of strategy then. Luckily, I didn't attack with Prime, so this is going to end it." He said, making Droite look at him confused. "I attack Marbled with Prime!"
"What for?" Droite asked. "My monster is in defense mode and cannot be destroyed by battle!"
"I activate the last effect of Nova Galaxy, sending it to the graveyard in order to reduce the attack of one monster I control by 1000, but it grants the ability to do piercing damage!"
"What?!" Droite gasped. "Regardless, my monster still won't be destroyed, and next turn I'll-"
"There won't be another turn!" Kaito declared. "I activate the effect of Prime to detach one overlay unit and have it gain 200 attack points for each Rank on the field!" he declared, his monster devouring one unit and its attack increasing, the glow of its wings intensifying. "But, since the detached material was Afterglow I can use its effect to take Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon from my hand or deck and either summon it or attach it to an Xyz monster I control as material!"
"But Galaxy-Eyes is equipped to Marbled Butterspy!"
"Is he? I summon Galaxy-Eyes Mimic Dragon from my hand!" A smaller dragon monster appeared on the field, bearing a slight resemblance to Galaxy-Eyes, but smaller, almost like a chick. However, it had white-glowing eyes instead of the beautiful swirling galaxies; 2100/1000, Level 4, Dragon, LIGHT. "While in my hand or field, Mimic is treated as Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon!"
Droite's fears came to fruition in that moment, but she was still not ready to give up. "I activate my trap, Butterspy Cocoon!" The trap flipped itself, then a wall of white silk surrounded Marbled. "This card equips itself to a Butterspy monster I control and cuts all damage I take from battles involving it in half!"
"I doubt that matters in the end." Kaito muttered. "When Afterglow's effect is used, the attack of all Number Xyz monsters on my field is doubled!"
Everyone shouted at once. "Doubled?!"
"Doubled?!" Droite echoed, watching Prime's wings erupt with energy as its attack increased. From Afterglow: 4000 - 8000. From Prime's effect. 8000 - 11200. From Nova Galaxy: 11200 - 10200 "It has 10200 attack points?!"
"No matter if you half the damage, this is too much to survive. Prime Photon Stream!" Kaito's dragon struck Droite's field full-on, tearing down the cocoon and blowing Marbled away along with Droite, the girl getting sent back on the floor.
