Bailey sighed and stared at the ceiling, it was two in the morning and Bill would have to get up in an hour. He snored loudly in her ear. She would be lying if she said it didn't bother her. She scooted closer into his warm side and slowly melted into him. She was thankful to have someone. Someone that loved her dearly. A warmth washed over her soul, she would give him a baby that he so desperately wanted. It was awkward when he would bring it up during love making no matter how hard she tried to be into it. She held her stomach, she should stop smoking in case she got pregnant. It was hard to put down now.
She didn't want him to leave for the day again. It upset her that he couldn't just leave the military and run away with her. He had every intention of reenlisting too. He did love job. She felt guilty. He did look pretty handsome in his uniform. She thought back to their wedding when he wore his dress uniform, her face warmed up. She did have a nice husband, even if he was falling behind on his share of the housework. He worked hard. So he deserves a little slack...
Bailey laced their fingers together and buried her face into his chest. She loved his warm and soft body. She just wanted to stay in bed with him forever. They were safe from the world there where they could revel in each other without a care.
She sighed heavily again. What was sleep? Who knows. Bailey wanted to wake Bill up but thought better of it. He would need his rest for work. At least he was off tomorrow. The weekends went by too fast. She didn't have a car either so she was stuck at the house and Bill didn't want her going anywhere without him. What was she to do? Rot there? At least she had her cigarettes to keep her company since nothing else felt worthwhile anymore.
The loneliness was getting to her. Sure she had been invited out a few times but what would she even say? The only thing on her mind was the shit Amy put her through. She liked to put on music and get lost in her own daydreams. A life away from life. Silent tears soaked the pillow and Bill's bicep. She was itching to get up and smoke and pace but it was way too dark. She was tired of seeing shit in the dark too. She was tired of everything. Amy stole her life from her. She balled her fists tightly. There was nothing she could except cry pathetically.
The alarm went off, startling Bill awake. He smashed the snooze button and laid there bleary eyed. He blinked the sleep away and draped an arm over Bailey's waist. "What's wrong?" He asked, barely awake.
"Huh? Nothing..." She croaked.
"It's not nothing, you're crying." He said softly.
"I love you, Mr. Bill." She whispered hoarsely.
"Aw, I love you too." He said sleepily and kissed her cheek.
A clap of thunder shook the house. Bill shrieked and held Bailey tighter. "Are you okay, Billy?" She asked worriedly, shoving her own problems to the back of her mind. She held his face softly and caressed his cheek with her thumb. He clung to her and pulled a blanket over them both. A flash of lightning lit up the room briefly before a huge boom of thunder shook the house again. The wind picked up and then came the rain. Bailey held Bill, trying to comfort him and calm him down. She shushed him and kept him grounded. She liked the weather but for Bill's sake she wanted it to blow over soon.
"It's okay, I got you, Billy." She whispered sweet reassurances. He held her tightly and tried to hide from the storm under the blankets. "Don't you have to get up for work?" She asked softly, stroking his back in a soothing manner. Bill didn't even want to think about getting up for work, let alone driving in this crazy weather.
He groaned and shook his head, content to stay in his wife's warm embrace. More lightening flashed. He was conflicted, he should really go to work, he was pretty much out of any kind of leave. Bill sighed heavily and cuddled up impossibly closer to Bailey. He just wanted to stay buried between her tits and go back to sleep. Bill mustered every bit of strength and will power to get up. He would just throw on his uniform and go. Like he used to before. At least for today. "Yeah, I should probably get up now." He groaned and then kissed her softly. He liked how she would cling tighter every time he gave her any kind of affection. She was the reason he bothered getting up. Bill felt like he should be embarrassed but he didn't and that was what gave him the will to go out in the storm. His ex-wife always made fun of him for it. The rain picked up right on cue. He sighed, it was going to be a long drive to base.
Bill rolled out of bed and fumbled with the dresser, he was still getting used to only having one eye now. Driving certainly wasn't any easier but he wasn't about to worry his wife about it. Bill threw on his neatly pressed fatigues. He buried his face in the fabric of his shirt and smelled it. He looked warmly at his wife, who was staring back at him with a worried look. He would never tire of the way she took care of him and fussed over his well being. It was nice to have someone look out for him other than Hank. He had never felt so loved before in his life. He would go to work for his wife. He didn't want her to deal with the world after being forced to deal with that evil bitch Amy. His Bailey was so sweet and pure. He put his shirt on and kissed her with intensity. He didn't want to leave her for the day. Bill reluctantly parted from her and went into the bathroom to finish getting ready.
Bailey turned on every light in the house on the way to the kitchen. She got to work making him some coffee to go. Would he make it to work okay? She hoped the coffee was a nice comforting distraction. "Oh! I'll make him some pop-tarts." She muttered to herself as she put the pop-tarts into the toaster. Bailey grabbed her travel mug and poured some sugar in it, she grabbed the half and half as she waited on the coffee to finish. Once it was just done, she poured it into the mug and poured the creamer in to his liking. She grabbed a few paper towels and put the warm pop tarts in it.
Bill emerged from the bathroom to the smell of coffee. His heart swelled with so much love it almost hurt. He wrapped his arms around her and kissed her sweetly. It hurt even more to leave her now. He tore himself away from her and grabbed his coffee and pop-tarts. "Thank you, Bailey. I love you so fucking much." He gushed, ready to say fuck it to work. He jumped slightly when another clap of thunder rolled through. She gave him a sympathetic look and squeezed his forearm. "I love you too. Let me know when you get to work please. Be careful." She said, her hand still on his arm.
"Always. I love you. I'll see you later." He gave her another kiss and made his way out the door. He got into the car and sloshed some of the coffee in the cup holder. He sighed heavily. It was going to be a long day.
Bailey looked out the window and watched him back out of the driveway. She hoped he would be okay, she worried about his vision and the shitty weather. She felt alone and cold again. Bailey eventually sunk down on the couch and waited for him to text her. She watched the time go by tensely until she got his text. She sighed in relief and stared at the ceiling now. It certainly was going to be a long day...She needed a cigarette.
