Chapter 39: Two In A Million

Drew went to his room and saw May on the bed, looking down at the floor and crying. He approached her quietly.

"May." Drew said.

May stopped crying and she looked up to meet the eyes of Drew. Drew sat down next to May and wiped her tears with his thumbs.

Once Drew finished wiping May's tears, he pulled her into a hug. "Shh...it's okay, May." He whispered in her ear. "I'm here for you."

"I-I…" May started. "Lost something…"

"What did you lose?" Drew asked.

"B-but you'll be mad at me if I tell you."

"No I won't."

"Promise?"

Drew pulled away from May and stared into her eyes. "Promise." He confirmed.

"O-okay." May lifted up her right hand and showed it to Drew.

Drew instantly knew what May was missing. Her wedding ring. Now he knows why May was hiding this from him. It is very important and to be missing it will make him mad.

May dropped her right hand onto the bed and looked down. "You're mad I lost it, aren't you?"

"...No, I'm not." Drew said truthfully.

May looked up. "But...I lost my wedding ring, Drew. It's a symbol of your love for me. It means a lot to me and without it I feel...sad and depressed. And I lost it today of all days. And that's why I don't deserve the gifts you give me, Drew. Like an ice-skating rink in the castle. I'm not worthy of it…" May started crying again.

"And why don't you deserve it?" Drew asked.

"B-because you said that as long as your gifts bring us closer together, then you spoil me with gifts to begin with. And...I kept a really big secret from you. You want us to be close, but I didn't tell you about the ring. And I just ruined our Valentine's Day. I should've never taken off my ring. I was just helping Kiara with a school project that requires glue and I took it off, but...I need it. I can't do anything fun with you today without it."

Drew smiled. "I'm not mad, because of how much you said that ring means to you. And it was an accident, so I can't be mad at you for it. And you do deserve to be spoiled with presents from me. I love you, May." He brushed May's cheek and started wiping her tears with his thumb. "And you know that. You know that I always want to see your smile. I want you to always be happy. And I know what you love to do for fun, so I had an ice-skating rink installed in the castle."

"Sure, I want us to be the closest a couple could get." Drew continued. "But that takes time. I just hope that next time...you'll tell me what's going on, so I could help. Okay?"

After a moment, May nodded and gave a small smile. "Okay, Drew."

Drew lowered his hand from her face. "I'll help you look. Have you tried using the scepter to locate it?"

"I have, but our jewels don't have that strong of power. We need to know exactly where it is to teleport it to us. But since I don't know where it is...the teleport power won't work."

"I see...then how about this?" Drew stood up and walked to the center of the room. He pulled out his sword. "Honesty Outfit!" Drew's clothes glowed green and started changing.

In a minute, the glow stopped to reveal Drew in his different outfit, his Honesty Outfit. He looked at May. "Come over here and transform."

"Umm...why?" May asked.

"Just trust me on this."

May stood up and walked to Drew. She pulled out her scepter. "Love Outfit!" Her clothes glowed pink and started changing.

In a minute, the glow stopped to reveal May in her Love Outfit.

"Okay. Magic together." Drew said, stepping back. He held up his sword diagonally to May.

May understood what Drew wanted to do and she smiled. She raised up her scepter and connected the jewel with the blade of Drew's sword. Both jewels glowed brightly.

"At the same time we say 'teleport', okay?" Drew asked. May nodded. "And make sure you imagine the ring. 1...2…"

"Teleport!" They said together. They're both thinking of May's wedding ring right now. Both of their jewels are responding to each other.

Both jewels glow even brighter and release streams of light that circle the scepter and sword. The green and pink streams spiral around the magical items while May and Drew focus on getting the ring back.

Both jewels glow even brighter and cause May and Drew to look away, shutting their eyes to not get blinded. After a minute, the glows completely faded out and May's wedding ring appeared in between May and Drew, floating down.

Drew was the first to look at the ring. He put his sword away and walked forward, the ring falling into his hand. May faced forward and saw Drew staring at his palm. She walked forward and met Drew's eyes.

Drew lifted up May's right hand. "I believe this belongs to you." He showed her the ring that's in his right hand and he put her ring finger through it.

May stared at the wedding ring, a smile coming to her mouth. "You did it…" May said. "You really did it." She looked up at Drew.

"We did it. It took our combined powers to do it."

"But still, you're the one that knew what to do to begin with."

Drew smiled. "I'm glad we got it back." He raised her right hand up higher and he leaned down slightly, placing a kiss on her ring. May blushed.

Drew lowered their hands. "So, can I treat you to some ice-skating? Our ice-skating outfits that we got to keep from our honeymoon are somewhere in the closet."

May smiled. "I'd love to try out the rink."

"I knew you would. You change first."

"Kay."

May and Drew got to keep their skates and clothes when they went to that ice-skating rink during their honeymoon. They're both in their baby blue ice-skating outfits. They're both putting on their skates to get ready to get in the rink.

"Drew, the rink is huge." May said.

"Well, you know royals...they have everything huge." Drew said.

May giggled. "True."

Drew stood up and held out his hand to May. May finished putting on her skates and she took Drew's hand, standing up. They entered the rink, holding the railing.

"Do you remember how to skate?" May asked.

"I think so, but maybe just a little bit of help?"

May smiled and pushed herself off of the railing. "Sure, Drew." She turned around on the ice and stopped in front of Drew. She took his hand. "Just push yourself off. I got you."

Drew pushed himself off of the railing towards May. May took his other hand, gliding backwards while Drew glided forward.

"See? Nothing to it." May said.

Drew smiled. "You're right. I remember how fun we had ice-skating last time."

They started skating to the right of the rink hand-in-hand. "I know. We had a lot of fun." May agreed. "And now we have this in here…"

"We can have fun all over again." Drew released May's hand and skated ahead of her.

May smiled and skated faster to catch up to Drew. Drew saw May pass him.

"So, we're having a race?" Drew asked, speeding up himself.

May stopped herself. Drew went past her and immediately put on the brakes, turning around and skating back to her. "No." May answered. "But I didn't want you to outspeed me."

Drew chuckled. "Sorry, but I can't help challenging you...Teacher."

"Why do you always want to challenge me when I'm the teacher and you're the student?"

Drew skated around May. "Because it's fun." He answered. May spun around and watched Drew skate off. She raised her right hand, admiring her wedding ring. She smiled and lowered her hand to her side, watching Drew skate away from her.

(This song is "Two In A Million" from Austin & Ally.)

"Planets align." May sang. "Suddenly, I'm alive." Drew stopped himself and spun around. They're looking at each other from opposite sides of the rink.

"Eyes full of stars." Drew sang. "Guide me to where you are."

"Pinch me if"

"I'm asleep." They sang together as they both started skating toward each other.

"Cause this feels like" May sang.

"It's a dream." They sang together. "We're like two in a million." They passed each other and put on the brakes as they spun around, gliding backwards. "Can't even begin to find where I found you." Drew stopped and then he started skating forward towards May. "What are the chances that there'd be this magic we touch?" At that moment, Drew was in front of May and he took her hand.

They started skating hand-in-hand as May sang. "We've got something special."

"Ohh…" Drew sang.

"On another level." May sang as Drew went in front of her and spun around, facing her.

"Like it's just you and me in the room." They sang together as Drew twirled May into him. They're gliding with May's back to Drew's stomach and his arms wrapped around her stomach. "Because something so brilliant is meant for just two in a million." They sang as they spun slowly in circles in their current position. Drew gently twirled May away from him, still holding onto her hand.

May slipped her hand out of Drew's and started gliding backwards. Drew watched May skate away. "Sparks start to fly." Drew sang. "It's in the air tonight."

"Light in the dark." May sang as she started skating back to Drew. "Holding me in your arms. Pinch me if"

"I'm asleep." They sang together. May got to Drew and skated around him.

"Cause this feels like" May sang, circling around Drew to the front of him.

"It's a dream." They sang together. "We're like two in a million." They started skating again to the center of the rink. "Can't even begin to find where I found you." They got to the center and slowly started skating in a circle, looking at the other across the circle. "What are the chances and there'll be this magic we touch?"

They never lost eye contact with each other. "We've got something special." May sang.

"Yeah…" Drew sang.

"On another level."

"Like it's just me and you in the room." They sang together. "Because something so brilliant, it's meant for just two in a million. Two in a million."

"Yeah!" May sang. They stopped themselves and faced each other. Drew took May's hand. May skated closer to Drew, looking up in his eyes.

"We're like two in a million." They sang together as Drew twirled May into him, wrapping his arms around her stomach, both of them gliding backwards. "Can't even begin to find where I found you." Drew twirled May away from him to the side. They're still smiling at each other. "What are the chances that there'll be this magic we touch?" May spun herself into Drew's arms again, spinning them both in circles.

"We've got something special. (We've got something.)" May sang with Drew echoing. May twirled away from Drew, releasing his hand. Drew skated to May and took her hand, stopping her from spinning. "On another level. (No, it's not like this.) Like it's just me and you in the room."

Drew pulled May closer to him, both gliding backwards and staring into the other's eyes. Drew brushed May's cheek, tucking strands of hair behind her ear. "Because something so brilliant is meant for just two in a million." They sang together. "Because something so brilliant is meant for just two in a million." They started leaning in closer to each other. "Two in a million." They sang, finishing the song.

They keep leaning in closer. They both closed their eyes and gently pressed their lips against the other's, still gliding on the ice.

When they pulled away from each other, they smiled. They stopped themselves from gliding. Drew lowered his hand from her face.

"Happy Valentine's Day, May." Drew said.

"Happy Valentine's Day." May said.
