Saphira was able to have a nice beef stir fry and rice for lunch today, she spoke with Jane who decided to keep her company while Caius spoke to Demetri and Felix about fixing up the empty room downstairs to use as a vampire furnace chamber. The day had been mostly quiet, though Saphira did feel a bit lonely without her mates. She knew she would need time to be away from them, as she has noticed she was getting attached to them to a point where she would be lonely without them. She has considered staying overnight somewhere in Italy for a break, but the kings were fully against it unless someone went with her. She didn't have a choice about that, but she hoped when the issue was resolved with Stefan, Vladimir, Sulpicia and Athenodora that she could do that from time to time. She didn't know how that would go down, but she would at least ask as it would be a break from being queen for a short time.

After lunch, she made her way to the top of the castle and stood at the same point overlooking the garden. The table and chairs were still set up from the first breakfast she had with them. They already had several dawn breakfasts with Saphira, but it wasn't everyday as Saphira would often be more tired on those days. Plus, the nightmare she had came back several times so the kings made sure she had sleep. If only vampires didn't glitter in the sunlight, that could have high teas up here, but she would have make do with a dawn breakfast or a sunset dinner, both were pleasant to have. Plus, as she stayed up top the breeze turned cool as a light overcast overshadows the castle. She smiled, breathing in the cool air and the hint of rain tickled her senses. She decided it was time to get back inside, and as she stood up she saw a figure standing at the opposite side from her. She was caught off guard and frowned, thinking it was the same person she had seen watching her weeks ago. She clenched her eyes shut and opened them to see the person had come closer, it was a vampire and he had short platinum blonde hair. Saphira stepped back instinctively.

"Don't come closer, I am the Queen of the Volturi and you will keep your distance," Saphira spoke in an authoritative tone.

The vampire simply smiled, but there was a sadness in his eyes that made Saphira surprise. "It is a pleasure to finally meet the queen," He spoke, she was surprised to hear his accent. It was an old accent, he has seen many years it seemed and she guessed he was Roman or French. "I have waited sometime to meet you. I trust that letter we sent you was a nice gift from us."

Saphira widened her eyes as fear took hold, realizing this was either Stefan or Vladimir. "Identify yourself please."

"I am Vladimir," He spoke softly, moving closer. Saphira moved to step back. "Please don't. I want to get a better look at you. You look so much like her…"

"Like who?" Saphira asked nervously. "I don't know you Vladimir. I do know of your past, but please know I am not responsible."

"That maybe true, but an eye for an eye is fair," Vladimir said, grabbing Saphira's arm firmly. She yelped and tried to pull back as he brushed her hair with his fingers. "My mate had emerald eyes when we first met." Saphira froze as he spoke. "They sparkled like the gemstones they were coloured after before her transformation, and her raven hair was as silky as yours. I didn't think she would reincarnate."

"Y-y-you're mistaken," Saphira said nervously, silently calling out to her mates to come. "I am not your mate."

"Your scent is like hers too…" Vladimir whispered, she shuddered in disgust as he breathes on her neck. "How can you come back and be their mate…after what they did to you." He seemed so sad as he spoke, Saphira had no feelings of déjà vu with him, and knew she simply looked like his mate out of coincidence. "And I am sorry that you are caught in the middle of this."

"You don't have to," Saphira said, swallowing nervously. "I mean…if you have anger towards the kings, fine I completely understand, but you know that humans would have turned on you eventually."

"Perhaps…but we were in our power and prime," Vladimir said, smiling as he remembered their past. "It was a great time in our lives. But, it came to a halt when the Volturi grew in power and sought to destroy our castles. Stefan, myself and our mates fought against them with our own guard. But Aro is smart, he picked the strongest vampires and defeated us. But…"

Saphira squirmed, not liking where he was going with his words when he gripped more harshly and pulled, dislocating her shoulder making her scream in pain. "Please let me go!" She screamed desperately.

She looked up and saw Vladimir had a sad expression. "Our mates were killed in battle…it is fitting we return the favour," He said bluntly. He softened his voice, leaning closer to her. "This isn't personal to you Saphira, if you were a mate to any other vampire, you wouldn't have this happen to you. I wish you were mine…my Amelia who died to Aro's hand."

Saphira dropped down as Vladimir attempted to kiss her, and she hears a door slam off it's hinges. She glanced towards the door and then at Vladimir who has seen them. He glanced at her before glancing at them.

"Let's see how good you are at catch," Vladimir mocks, before throwing Saphira off the roof.

Saphira screamed as she fell, Vladimir had already run from the scene before the guards could catch him, and she felt Aro's body grab her. She held onto him with her left arm and legs as he slid down a wall and landing, holding her tightly. She was trembling and crying, she felt disgusting that Vladimir even dared to try and kiss her, and she didn't know how he got to her. Somebody knew he was there and she wanted to find out.

"Sono qui amore mio, mi dispiace tanto," Aro cooed, holding her as he moved towards a door to get inside quickly. "We thought you were in the garden first." Saphira doesn't respond. "GUARDS! We need a medic!"

Saphira flinched when he yelled. She still said nothing, she wanted to have a shower to wash his scent off her body, she felt so disgusted and angry. She didn't even know if the kings knew she looked like his mate. Vladimir's reassurance that this wasn't personal didn't make her relax for one moment. And it happened on a day when the castle was quiet.

"I'm so sorry Saphira!" Marcus's voice echoed through the hallway. "I was so distracted with Didyme, I didn't even feel your call until I realized Aro had already gone."

"Me too, I checked the garden first with Aro," Caius said in a worried voice. "You're safe now. I can't believe he tried kissing you."

Saphira tensed when he spoke of that. "Don't feel it's your fault Saphira, because it is not," Aro soothed. They enter a room that was extremely bright and he sat Saphira on a bed, she realized it was a small hospital. "A doctor will be here in a moment."

Saphira rubbed her shoulder and looked at Aro. "You can pop it back in…it's not broken," She said with a hiccup.

"Are you certain? We might break it," Caius said with a worried expression.

"It'll feel better…" Saphira said, glancing away from him and clenching her eyes.

"Hey, hey, il mio amore," Aro said, gently grabbing her chin to have her look at him. "It's not your fault. Somebody let him in and we'll find out who. But please don't blame yourself. We can wash his scent off you later."

Saphira nods solemnly. She still felt disgusting and dirty. She didn't know how to feel about Vladimir. She knew he was still hurting over the loss of his mate, and his quest for revenge was clouding his mind, but to look like his mate must hurt a lot more especially since she is the mate to the Volturi kings and not him. It must seem like his mate reincarnated to be mated to them.

"I think we should try getting her shoulder back in, it won't make the doctor's work as difficult," Marcus suggests, gently picking up Saphira's shoulder. She winced and he felt her shoulder to feel how it should be popped back in. "Alright, this might hurt a bit, but I will be gentle Saphira."

Saphira nods and Aro's hand held hers tightly. He also read her mind of what happened with Vladimir so he didn't have to ask her what happened. Saphira whimpered as Marcus put some pressure on her shoulder, moving up slightly and pushing before hearing and feeling a pop, a sense of relief came over her despite the pain.

"That feels better," Saphira said with a slight smile. She then looked at Aro. "Do I look like his dead mate?"

"Not exactly the same, but similar," Aro said quietly. The other two were confused, but didn't question. "Amelia was more of African decent then Asian like you are. You share similarities, but Vladimir making it seem like you look and smell like her is a bit extreme. Don't let him get to you about reincarnation."

"I'll try," Saphira muttered and leaned against him. "Thank you for coming…I hope it won't happen again."

"Nor do I," He said, kissing her forehead gently. Aro glanced at Marcus. "I think we have to make Didyme's birthday and death anniversary a short thing from now on."

"But…"

"No buts," Aro interrupts. "We can't have this happen again. We have a spy among us."

"My kings," Jane's voice spoke as she arrived at the room. "We were unable to catch Vladimir, he fled very quickly when Saphira was thrown from the castle. Felix, Alec and Demetri are gathering everyone right now. We are suspecting a few of the newer recruits at this time."

"Thank you Jane," Caius said with an appreciative smile. "I think Saphira's going to be out of action for a while."

"Indeed, and we also got a letter letting us know that Bella and Edward are now married," Jane continued with a slight smile.

Saphira blinked in surprise. "Oh, they didn't invite me?" She said softly.

"I'm afraid not, my queen, Carlisle informed me he felt it was better to let you have time with the kings," Jane explains. "I will be waiting in the throne room.

"Please wait for me," Saphira said, looking at the kings. "I don't want you to leave me alone."

"And we won't, I do need to tell Caius and Marcus what happened," Aro said softly. "I'll tell them when the doctor arrives."

That was a good timed sentence as a doctor walked through a door in the opposite side that led into the public area. He saw Saphira with the injured shoulder and quickly began to inspect her. In the meantime, Aro took the other kings aside to tell them what Vladimir had done. They both were horrified and disgusted at the same time. They were deeply angry at themselves for not getting to her sooner, though Saphira may have been thrown off, at least she wouldn't have been injured. They stayed in the medical centre with Saphira to ensure she was treated well. The doctor was happy with her shoulder back in place properly, but she was put in a light cast, given painkillers and some sleeping pills so she was able to have enough sleep. There was not other damage, but it certainly could have been worse if Aro had caught her wrong. The kings paid the doctor for his service and helped Saphira out, even though it was only her arm injured this time. Saphira did wonder if she should become a vampire now, but then it might make Vladimir do something worse to her then if she was human. She wasn't sure, she needed to know who the rat is. Aro can find that out easily. She felt their wrath boiling, it needed to be let out and they needed to feed too, their energy into trying to help her was drained and needed to be replenished. But they will deal with that after they find the traitor. It worried everyone what Vladimir's plans were for Saphira.
