Chapter 39, enjoy!

It was a lazy Friday evening, Julie was watching a movie with Shelley and Tim was raiding the kitchen, complaining that Tami needed to go shopping.

"Jules, you wanna go get some food somewhere?" Tim asked.

"Like where...? And why?" She asked with obvious disinterest.

"I don't know, maybe the deli inside the grocery store? We haven't gone on a real date in forever, it'll be my treat to you," Tim answered.

"Aww how sweet," Julie responded sarcastically.

"And there is like nothing in the fridge," Tim added.

"Yep, I knew it,"

"Come on, it'll be nice to get out of the house," Tim pleaded. Julie looked to Shelley who had just turned on a movie for the two of them to watch.

"Go enjoy your evening. Who would want to spent their night watching a movie with their lame aunt when their boyfriend is offering them dinner?" Shelley added in.

"Ok fine," Julie finally agreed. "Do we have to go in? I don't really wanna put on nice clothes?" She asked, looking down at the baggy sweatpants and oversized sweatshirt she was sporting.

"We can do whatever you want," Tim responded.

"Please bring me back some food, I'm betting Tami won't want to cook after this school board meeting," Shelley requested. Tim grabbed his keys from the hook and he and Julie made their way to his truck. He put the key in the ignition and started the engine. Before backing out of the driveway, Tim change the radio station to the one that was broadcasting the Dillon basketball game that night.

"Missing high school sports so much you're gonna listen to a basketball game?" Julie teased. "You've only been done playing what, a month?"

"I don't mind basketball," Tim defended.

"Uh huh, you never watch basketball,"

"I watch the recaps on ESPN," Tim argued. "And yeah, I guess I'm still getting used to not playing football on a Friday night." He finally backed out of the parking spot and made his way to the grocery store. Julie gave Tim her request and he went inside the store to get their food.

"Shit," Tim cussed once he got back in the pickup.

"What?" Julie asked alarmed.

"Somethings leakin' under my truck," Tim answered. "Wait, Billy was working at the shop tonight getting ready for the big opening. Let me call him and see if he's still there." Tim pulled out his phone and dialed Billy's number.

"Billy, are you still at the shop?" He asked into the phone.

"Yep Timmy, I'm still out here," Billy responded on the other end.

"I've got a fluid leak in my truck," Tim explained.

"Think you can get it to the shop?" Billy asked.

"Yeah probably."

"'Kay see you in a bit," Billy replied, hanging up. Tim drove to the not yet opened Riggins' Rigs, his brother's newest business venture that Tim would eventually be working at. Once they got there, Tim and Julie got out of the truck.

"Hey lovebirds," Billy greeted them. Tim rolled his eyes at his brother.

"Just fix my damn truck," Tim requested. Julie and Tim took their food into the shop, where there was a couch and small coffee table.

"You know I should really be showing you how to do this, you know since your going to work here and all," Billy stated.

"I'm eating!" Tim exclaimed.

"And this was supposed to be our date, because I lounge around the house too much," Julie added.

"Gah Tim, she's pregnant give her a break," Billy joked.

"I didn't say it like that," Tim argued.

"Well you sure implied it," Julie shot back.

"Now now, don't get into a fight over what Tim did or didn't say," Billy replied. "But I do have to side with you Julie," He added.

"Shut up would ya, I'm trying to listen to the basketball game," Tim stated, adjusting the shop radio to the basketball game.

"Since when do you pay attention to round-balled sports?" Billy asked jokingly.

"That's what I said!" Julie chimed in. "He say's he's still getting used to not playing on Friday nights," Julie added, sounding sarcastically sympathetic.

"Regretting not taking that scholarship yet?" Billy insensitively asked.

"No, I turned it down for a reason. I want to help Julie raise our daughter," Tim replied, now annoyed at Billy.

"I was just asking..." Billy defended. "Oh and since your living at the Taylor's now, you've still got some stuff in your room you might want."

"Ok I'll go pick it up when we're done here," Tim replied.

"How much longer you got until that baby girl is born anyway?" Billy asked after the group went silent.

"I'm due in April," Julie answered in between bites of her sandwich, realizing that the date was didn't respond, just finished working on Tim's truck.

Once Billy was done repairing the leaky hose in Tim's truck, Tim and Julie drove to his house. Tim hadn't been back there since the incident with his dad back before the State Championship. Julie and Tim walked into the house and to his old room together. Tim gathered up some clothes he hadn't brought with him and few other things. Julie took the opportunity to lay on Tim's bed. She laid on her side, facing where Tim was packing. On the wall she was facing was a giant Texas Tech, Tim's favorite college team, poster.

"Be honest with me Tim, do you regret not taking that scholarship?" She asked. "Please tell me the truth."

"No, I don't. Like I told Billy, I turned it down for a reason. I want to spend my time with you, and our baby. I will never regret choosing my girls over college football," Tim stated honestly. Tim began sifting though his nightstand drawer for anything he may want when he found a dusty old photo album. He held it in his hands and stared at it.

"What is that Tim?" Julie curiously asked, sitting up. He carefully turned the cover to reveal an old picture of a young child, probably 2 or 3, with a toothless smile and a head full of brown hair. "Oh my gosh! Is that you?" Julie gushed. Tim just nodded and flipped the page. On the next page was a picture of a woman with beautiful dark brown hair and a weak smile holding a small baby. "Is that your mom?" Julie carefully asked, knowing his mom wad a sensitive subject. Again, Tim nodded.

"I didn't know these were here.." Tim finally responded. He closed the photo album that held many memories and carefully placed it in his bag.

"Are you ready?" He asked zipping up the bag. Julie got up from his bed and they both walked out of the house together.

Ahhh so much dialog in these past few chapters, but it was sooo much fun to write their bantering and joking, as well as some light-hearted stuff. I am very excited to post these next couple of chapters, I am very proud of them and can't wait for y'all to read them.
