Hey everyone. Sorry it's been a while. I hope you like this chapter!
Marinette yawned, sitting up slowly.
"What time is it," she groaned sleepily. Adrien opened his eyes, grinning.
"Time to wake up," he sing-songed. She turned to glare at him.
"Are you a morning person?"
Adrien nodded. "I thought you'd noticed that already from our group outings."
Marinette groaned. "I thought you were hyped up on coffee! I didn't realize that was actually you!"
Adrien laughed. "Yeah, no. My father doesn't let me drink coffee, because of the whole 'stunts your growth' thing. He didn't want me to have that happen."
"You're father's a party pooper."
"You can say that again," Adrien mumbled.
"Your father's a party pooper," came the muffled reply. Adrien glanced at the pile of blankets that encased his partner.
"I didn't mean literally," he chuckled.
Marinette's head popped out, and she smiled softly. "Look, kitty. Um, everyone else is still sleeping, so… maybe we should go back to sleep."
"But I'm not tired…" he whined. She rolled her eyes fondly.
"Come on," she shifted so there was a space next to her on the beanbag. He climbed on gratefully, and the two snuggled in.
"Whoa," Adrien heard. What's going on? "How long…"
"My ship is SAILING! Who even cares how long it was? We need pictures!" Marinette shifted as Alya's voice cut through the silence, reminding him that he wasn't alone on the beanbag. As he lay there, he realized they must have fallen asleep. Sitting up, he nudged Marinette.
"Bugaboo," he whispered. "It's time to wake up."
"Don't wanna," she mumbled, pulling him closer. "Tired."
"Come on, Mari," he chuckled. "You've had hours of sleep."
"No. Not enough."
Adrien looked helplessly at Alya, who smirked back.
"What? You can wake her up."
Sighing, he turned back to his (beautiful, can he just say?) friend.
"Mari," he tried, louder. "We need to get up now."
Marinette moaned. Finally, Adrien sighed.
"Okay, I'm going to get up now. You can join me if you want."
With that, he stood up out of the beanbag, walking away. Marinette shot up, suddenly wide awake.
"Did we fall back asleep?" She slumped. "And I was up so early, too."
As she looked around, she noticed the whole class was gathered around the beanbag she slept on.
"Um… was I snoring or something?"
Alya just grinned, holding out her phone. As Marinette saw the picture of her and Adrien cuddling, she turned bright red.
"Oh, come on Alya, it was only a few hours!"
She cringed as a smirk came to her best friend's face. "Only? As far as I remember, you've never-"
"Okay," Marinette interrupted, standing up. "Anyone want breakfast?"
As soon as the words left her lips, the screen behind her flickered to life to show Lucy.
"Hey guys," she grinned. "I bet you're hungry?"
There was a murmur of assent.
"Well, I couldn't make you food myself, but there's pancake mix in the kitchen!"
Grinning, Adrien whooped. "Pancakes?!"
"Yep," Lucy confirmed. "And don't worry, while there's low fat and sugar mix, I also put just plain stop-up-your-body pancakes in there."
"Yes," Adrien squealed, running into the kitchen. Marinette rolled her eyes fondly.Thank you, Lucy," she grinned, following everyone else into the kitchen. Lucy watched her go, smiling.
"It's no problem," she mumbled. "It's the least I can do for trapping you here."
"So… who knows how to make pancakes?" Adrien had realized too late that he actually had no idea how to cook.
Marinette shook her head. "Step aside, Adrien." As she stepped forward, she put her hair back into a ponytail and tied an apron around her waist.
"Alya, you're on baking duty. I'll help you. Mylene, Ivan, can you figure out a place to eat? See if there's a table, or a picnic blanket or something?"
The couple nodded, walking away together. Marinette turned her focus back to the task at hand.
"Nino, see if you can get some tunes going."
"On it!"
"Kim, Alix, how about we see who can find dishes to eat with first?"
"You got it," Alix saluted before skating away in pursuit of the tall Asian boy.
"Rose, Juleka, once Mylene and Ivan find somewhere to eat, can you get it set up?"
The pair shot her a thumbs up.
"Okay, and everyone else, if you could help with dishes…"
The classmates groaned, but stepped up nonetheless.
"Um, Dupain-Cheng, I am definitely not getting my hands dirty. I'll sit this one out," Chloe sneered.
Marinette shrugged. "Whatever. Only those who help get pancakes."
Chloe sniffed. "I'm sure I can find something more… suitable for me in the kitchen. Sabrina?"
Marinette just sighed. Suddenly, she straightened. "Adrien," she smiled. "Can you go around and see what everyone wants? Sugar and fat free or regular? Also, ask if they want chocolate chips."
Adrien beamed. "You got it!"
Marinette stepped back, looking around.
"Okay," she stepped towards Alya, "What do you want me to do?"
"Delicious," Adrien proclaimed around a mouthful of pancake. "You and Alya are amazing, Bugaboo."
Marinette giggled. "Thanks!" She looked around, before leaning in.
"When you're done eating, Kitty… do you want to talk about things?"
Adrien nodded gratefully. "Please. It's been a crazy 24 hours."
"Don't I know it." Marinette shook her head, biting into a pancake.
After about fifteen minutes, everyone was starting to stand up. Marinette clapped her hands to get their attention.
"Guys," she said, "After the day we had yesterday I think we should all take some time to talk about things. I want to talk with Adrien first," she tried not to turn red as people laughed suggestively, "and then I was thinking we could have a class discussion? If that's alright with you, of course."
There were murmurs of assent all across the room.
"Great," Marinette beamed. "Dishes people, if you could do that, Adrien and I will be in this room over here," she gestured to the room Adrien had fled to the day before, "and… yeah. We'll be back!"
She grabbed Adrien's hand, pulling him into the door. As they walked in, Adrien took a deep breath.
"Wow, I don't really think we stopped to actually talk the entire time," he noted. Marinette nodded.
"I think Lucy said we got through about a season and a half of the show… that's insane!"
Adrien shook his head in disbelief. "This whole thing is. Who knew something like this was even possible?"
Marinette laughed. "Right? I never would have expected this."
The two of them fell silent, avoiding each other's gaze.
"Well," Adrien broke the silence tentatively, "this really isn't how I imagined this all to go. Um… I don't know if this is the best time to ask… in fact I honestly was trying to remember if I already did, but yesterday was so long and full of new information that I can't remember. But, if I did already ask, I promise I won't ask again, just this one time-"
Marinette chuckled. "Adrien. What are you, me? You're rambling."
Adrien smiled sheepishly. "Sorry. Anyway, will you be my girlfriend?"
Marinette beamed. "Of course, Kitty!"
Adrien reached out, and the two met in a hug. Looking up, Marinette noticed Adrien staring at her. Tentatively, she leaned closer to him until finally their lips met in a kiss.
As they pulled apart, Marinette smiled widely at him.
"Maybe this isn't something I should say on our first "date", but I love you, Adrien."
Leaning in for another kiss, Adrien murmured, "I love you too, Marinette."
Alya looked up as she heard the door open, and immediately her face broke into a wide grin. She nudged Nino, who followed her gaze and punched his fist in the air.
Out of the door had come Adrien and Marinette, both looking slightly disheveled and clearly noticing nothing but each other. They were holding hands and as they walked over to Alya and Nino, Alya stood up.
"Hey girl," she smirked. "What were you up to?"
Marinette turned bright red before avoiding Alya's gaze. Finally, Alya dropped it.
"Well, you said we could do a class discussion, so…"
As the class migrated over to the center of the room, Trixx suddenly shot out of Alya's pocket.
"Finally," the kwami exclaimed. "I just noticed that there's a pillow for myself out here!"
Alya chuckled as she watched her overexcited kwami settle down on an orange pillow. Then she frowned.
"Wait, why do I even have the necklace?"
Marinette furrowed her brow. "I don't remember giving it to you permanently…"
Adrien tilted his head. "Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I can't remember what happened the day before yesterday at all?"
Marinette gasped. "You're right! I wonder how many others have their mira- I mean… um… never mind."
Alya narrowed her eyes suspiciously but decided to move on. They would find out everyone's identity later on, she supposed.
"Everyone," Marinette spoke up. "Are you ready?"
Alya nodded, speaking up before anyone could react. "How did you keep this a secret? It was hard enough not telling you about Rena Rouge, but you had to lie to me every day! How did you do that?"
Marinette laughed. "Believe me, if I knew, I'd tell you. Honestly Alya, I'm surprised you didn't figure me out a long time ago. And I really wanted to tell you, but…"
"It was my fault," Tikki piped up. "I wouldn't let her tell you."
Alya mock-glared at the little kwami. "You!" Suddenly, her face softened, and she cooed. "Aw, I can't stay mad at you, you're so cute!"
Tikki giggled.
Mylene cleared her throat. "How do you… I mean, how do you not get scared? You know, fighting akumas and everything?"
Marinette's face softened as she looked at Mylene. "Honestly? I am terrified almost every time I get out there. Obviously not with Mr. Pigeon," she chuckled, "but most regular akumas are pretty terrifying to fight."
Mylene nodded, looking amazed. "But you do it anyway."
Marinette nodded. "But I do it anyway."
With a smile, she looked around, waiting for another question. Finally Alix smirked.
"How stupid do the two of you feel knowing you were in a two-person love square?"
Adrien and Marinette burst into laughter, shaking their heads.
"So dumb," Marinette gasped. "We're so stupid."
Adrien nodded. "I can't believe we- yeah, it was really dumb."
Max tilted his head. "How does it work? How do the costumes fit in the miraculous? How does Tikki go in? It shouldn't be scientifically possible?"
Marinette chuckled, turning to Tikki. "You want to try and explain?"
Tikki giggled. "It's magic! It won't make any sense no matter how I explain it!
"Thank you for doing this," Alya smiled at her best friend. "I know it must have been exhausting to answer so many questions." Marinette shrugged.
"I figured you all had a lot that you were wondering, you know? Anyway, it's probably time to go keep watching."
Alya nodded. "Let's go, everyone!"
As they made their way back into comfortable viewing positions, they looked at the next episode. Marinette stared in shock, rounding on a terrified Adrien.
"That's right," she whispered. "You could have transformed out of that."
Adrien cringed. "All's well that ends well?"
Marinette stonily turned back to the screen, pushing play.
Well there you go lol I'll probably update in the next month or so. Hope you liked it! See you next time y'all
