The next part of the Junior Champion League has begun. It was city-wide battle royale. Each of the remaining duelists in the adolescence division is to last until time runs out. With the whole city as their dueling arena, there's bound to be lots of action. Yukin found that as he was faced with two members from Battlegrounds Boarding School, but he was saved by someone named Klaus.

"Who are you?" Yukin asked.

"Don't worry, Yukin. I'm here to help." Klaus said. "Two against one just doesn't seem fair. I'm here to even the odds."

"Oh yeah? You think you can take us?" Chang said.

"Just try it." Fung said.

"If you insist. Just remembered that you asked for it." Klaus said as he drew a card. "Watch this. I activate Polymerization!"

"You're fusion summoning?" Yukin said.

"That's right. I fuse Elemental Hero Stratos with Elemental Hero Ice Edge!" Klaus said as he began to fuse two hero-like monsters together. "With two heroes flying high, this monster gets his power from the sky! I fusion summon Elemental Hero Great Tornado!" He summoned out a warrior that command the wind with a powerful tornado arriving from his summon. He also had 2800atk points. "When Elemental Hero Great Tornado is summoned, he can cut the attack points of all your monsters in half!" Great Tornado unleashed some wind and cut the attack points of every monster to 550, 600, 850, and another 850. "There. This way, your monsters can't be a threat to others. They look as vile and weak as you two really are."

"Hey!" Both of the said.

"Don't get mad at me. If you had any class or real strength, you jerks in Battleground wouldn't act the way you do." Klaus said. "Great Tornado, attack now!" Great Tornado unleashed a powerful gust of wind that created a tornado. It blasted Axe Raider as Chang's life points dropped to 2050. When the wind died down, they both saw Klaus and Yukin were gone.

"Hey! Where'd they go?!" Chang said.

"They just gave us the slip! They won't get far!" Fung said as they were out hunting.

The Arena

"Looks like Yukin was saved and managed to escape thanks to a fellow competitor." Nemo said as everyone in the arena was able to watch what was happening. "That's one of the better things about this battle. You can help a fellow duelist and you can pull out at any time.

"Lucky for Yukin." Augustus said.

"No joke. No telling what those brutes in Battleground would have done to him if that other guy didn't show." Alyssa said.

"If you ask me, Yukin should have stayed and fought back." Nathan said.

"But that would have put him at a significant disadvantage." Yuzu said. "It doesn't matter how many duels you win. The key to winning this part of the tournament is to last as long as you can."

"Yuzu's right. I just hope they can handle the competition out there." Eli said. All they can do is sit and watch the show. However, it is a little nerve-wracking to watch and not know what's really going to happen. Yukin and the others can be attacked anywhere at any time.

"By the way, who was that guy that just saved Yukin?" Alyssa asked.

"I don't know. I haven't seen him before now." Nathan said. A good question. Up until now, none of them has seen Klaus. Who is he and where did he come from?

...

Yukin

Yukin was able to give those two from Battleground the slip thanks to Klaus. They kept a low profile and kept their eyes open in case they get attacked again.

"Thanks for helping me back there." Yukin said. "You didn't have to do that."

"If I hadn't, you would have been in serious trouble. Those two were clearly teaming against you." Klaus said. "I'm sure you would have been able to handle it, but I couldn't just stand around and do nothing when there was something I could have done."

"Who are you anyway? I haven't really seen your duels." Yukin asked.

"My name is Klaus Manner. It is a pleasure to meet you Yukin Sakuma."

"It is?" Yukin said.

"Yes. I'm actually a fan of your father." Klaus said.

"You were?" Yukin said.

"Yes. I remember his duels from when I was little." Klaus said. "I was always amazed at what I saw. That's why I feel honored to meet you, his son."

"Thanks, I guess." Yukin said. "That monster you summoned was a little impressive. Every monster that was on the field lost half of their power just from that monster being summoned."

"My hero deck." Klaus said. "Don't let my fancy attire fool you. I've always been a fan of heroes with all those amazing powers. Your father was actually my hero with how amazing he looked in his duels. That's why I believe, like most heroes, your father will return one day and will be stronger than ever."

"Thank you. I like to believe that myself, and I'm hoping that day will be soon." Yukin said. "Well, since you are here, I take it you want to duel me yourself."

"I would love to have a duel against you, but not here. Not now at least." Klaus said. "I think a duel between us deserves a grand stage. Something like the finals of this tournament. Just be sure you don't lose until then."

"I wasn't planning on it." Yukin said. "Besides, I need to use this as an opportunity to get to Shun."

"Shun? From LID? Why are you looking for him?" Klaus said. "Planning to get payback for what he did to that Soto? You and he are in the same school after all."

"Nothing like that." Yukin said. "All I can tell you is that I need to talk to him about something important. If I lose before that can happen, I might not get another chance."

"Well, I be happy to help you out." Klaus said. "I'll be sure to keep my eyes open for anything. Until then, I'll see you around." Klaus turned around and walked off.

"Weird guy, but he helped me out. I guess he's okay." Yukin said. "I better stay focus. I could be attacked at any moment. I've got to find Shun before I lose all my life points." With that, Yukin took off. There's a lot going on in this battle royale, and a lot more to come.

...

Zoey

Zoey was roaming around Merge City herself. She was keeping her guard up for any sign of an opponent. She also had the same goal as Yukin. She wanted to find Shun and know the truth of this Promin Academy.

"No sign of anyone. It's like a creepy ghost town." Zoey said.

"It's not that bad." Someone suddenly appeared behind Zoey and it scared her so much that she actually screamed. "Sorry. I didn't mean to scare you." Zoey turned around and was met with a guy that was dressed like he came from Egypt.

"Who are you?" Zoey asked.

"My name is Alad. I am here to represent LID. You're that pretty Zoey girl from True Duel, aren't you?"

"Yes, I am. Wait, did you just call me pretty?" Zoey said.

"Well, would you care for a duel?" Alad asked.

"You're asking? You know this is a battel royale, right? You could have just attacked me." Zoey said.

"While your back was turned? I couldn't." Alad said. Zoey's a little impressed. This guy wasn't like most people from LID. He seemed really nice.

...

Siegrain

While Zoey was dueling and Yukin was on his own, Siegrain was doing the same. He moved through the city and was looking around for anything.

"So far, so good." Siegrain said as he looked around for an opponent himself. He kept moving through the city until he heard a series of explosions go off. He looked to the sky and saw Shun riding on one of his Battlize-Raptors in the sky, flying away from where the explosion came from.

"Pathetic." Shun said as he just flew off.

"That was Shun! That's who Yukin was looking for. Where's he flying from?" Siegrain hurried to where Shun came from. Once he got there, he was shocked at what he saw. He saw a few of the duelists beaten as each one of them had zero life points. "Shun took on all these guys by himself?" Siegrain couldn't believe how skilled Shun was. He was starting to see that Shun was really unlike any other duelist in this tournament.

"Out of the frying pan and into the fire. Is that not the saying?" Siegrain turned around and was met with a girl speaking with a Russian accent and looked Russian.

"And who might you be?" Siegrain said.

"You may call me Alexa, and you are my next prey."

"You want me? Come and get me." Siegrain said. This was one opponent Siegrain didn't mind taking on.

...

Klaus

Klaus actually managed to hack into the live fee of what was happening around the city. He kept his eyes on Siegrain, Zoey, and Yukin.

"So these are Yukin's friends." Klaus said. "They certainly do hold some skill and talent. I'm curious to see how this will all turn out." Just who is this Klaus? Is he a friend or a foe?

...

Promin Academy

Meanwhile, Promin Academy was getting ready to move out once more. Soto was back to his normal self, but he was still looking for some payback.

"About time I get out of here." Soto said as he walked through some halls. "I need to get payback at that Shun for when he beat me. No rebel scum is going to get the better of me like that." Soto had his mind set on getting even with Shun for what happened. As he made it to the end of the hall, he entered a chamber to speak with someone. "You wanted to see me, Headmaster Promin?"

"I did." Promin said as he stood from his chair. Promin, the head of the academy and the one behind all that the academy has done. He wore purple coat over himself with a red cape. He had long and edgy-looking black hair with a metal headband and a small mechanical computer piece that curved around the left side of his face.

"What do you need? I do have other places to be and payback to get." Soto said.

"I'm aware that you're heading back to Merge City. You're taking some of our soldiers with you. There's a girl there that I want you to bring back with you." Promin said as he showed a holographic image of Siri.

"Is that Zoey?" Soto said.

"No. This is Siri, one of us." Promin said. "She went to Merge City against my orders. I need her here. This is the girl you saw back in Merge City." He showed another hologram of Zoey. "These two girls share the same face, but they are different people."

"So you want me to find Siri and bring her back here? That's all?" Soto said.

"Yes, but Siri is a fighter and can be stubborn. It won't be as easy as you think." Promin said.

"I'm sure I can handle it." Soto said as he walked off and left Promin.

"I can tell he's grown rather attached to that Zoey girl. I don't want to take chances." Promin said as someone else came out of hiding.

"That's where I come in. You want me to find this Zoey and bring her to you, don't you? Just like I did with the others."

"Yes." Promin said as he looked at his other subordinate. His subordinate wore a purple suit-like attire with him wearing white pants and a suit. He wore a cape that was red on the inside and purple on the out. He also had short spikey pink hair with a sly grin on his face. "My elite duelist, Yuan." Trouble is heading for Merge City and Yukin and his friends are going to get all caught up in it. They better be ready for whatever is coming their way.
