Beckett sighs as she opens the door to the loft and finally gets to take off the heels that's been killing her all day.
"Castle?" she calls out when she's been able to pull her shoes off and dissolved her jacket before he's given any life sign at all. He's always so quick to meet her at the door when he's been forced to be at home all day writing.
When he's still not answering she sets her feet towards his office and stops when she sees him wearing headphones with his eyes observing the screen of his computer. She waves a little and he immediately looks up at the movement. His lips break up in a big smile as he quickly pauses whatever he's watching and taking off the headphones.
"Beckett, you're home," he says as he stands and walks over to her, pulling her into a hug and kisses her cheek.
She smiles while confusion enters her mind. "What's going on?"
"Have I told you I love you today?" he asks and she groans.
"What did you do?" she immediately asks with narrowed eyes.
"Nothing," he says as innocently as he can. "Yet," he adds.
She tilts her head with eyes narrowed, her smile in a straight line now. Giving him the look and lets the silence speak for itself until he cracks.
"Okay, just listen to this. How about you and me auditioning for America's Got Talent?"
At first she's just stunned. Then she can't stop herself from bursting out laughing.
"Doing what?" she laughs and he crosses his arms.
"We are very talented," he says and she tries to hide her laugh behind her hand.
"Yeah uh, no, babe. Not like that," she says and he pouts. "Besides, isn't it enough you're a famous writer?"
"Oh! I could write something while you show your amazing singing," he says and she shakes her head.
"Not gonna happen babe," she says and before he can say another word she's stepping onto her toes to kiss his lips. "Stop watching the videos and start to do your job instead."
"Why?" he questions and she bites her lip.
"Because I don't like it when your ex-wife calls you in the middle of us having sex to remind you that you have a chapter due."
"She didn't call in the middle of…"
"No, but ten minutes later and she had," she reminds him and he smirks. "What?"
"Good thing I finished two chapters earlier today then," he says as he walks closer to her, his hands landing on her hips to pull her flush against his body.
She bites her lip. "Good," she nods with a smile before his lips claim hers and she starts to push him towards their bedroom.
