Chapter 42: Twin Trials

(Chazz 1700/Sartorius 2200)

Chazz had two cards in his hand, and controlled Infernity Archfiend (1800/1200) on his side of the field along with an activated Call of the Haunted. Sartorius had one card in his hand, and controlled several cards. Arcana Force IV - The Emperor (1400-1900/1400) the field spell Light Barrier, the continuous spell Second Coin Toss two continuous traps, Tour of Doom and Lucky Chance and two facedown cards.

"It's your move." Sartorius said to Chazz.

Chazz took a look at one of the cards in his hand. 'I never saw this White Veil card, before, let alone put it in my deck. But it'll let me destroy all the spells and traps he controls. Problem is it's drawback. If it gets destroyed, I lose the game.' Chazz took a look at the facedowns Sartorius had. 'Alright. I'll wait a bit before activating it then.' "I set two cards facedown and switch my Infernity Archfiend to defense mode. I end my turn."

Sartorius drew. Suddenly, a display of Light Barrier showed up, beginning to rotate. "During every one of my Standby Phases, Light Barrier will rotate. If it lands rightside up, it's effects continue like normal. But if it lands upside down, then it's effects are negated until my next Standby Phase. And with Lucky Chance, I declare it will land rightside up."

The card landed upside down. However, Sartorius used the effect of Second Coin Toss to cause it to rotate again. This time, it landed rightside up. "This means Light Barrier's effect still remains." Sartorius said as he drew a card.

"Whatever. Don't forget that Tour of Doom landed upside down, so you can't summon this turn." Chazz said.

"True. But I still control a monster. The Empeor, attack Infernity Archfiend!"

Sartorius' monster shot out it's claws at Chazz's Infernity. Chazz just smirked. "You fell for it! I activate my trap card Infernity Force. When you attack an Infernity monster while I have no cards in my hand, your monster is destroyed. And I get to special summon an Infernity monster from my graveyard! I revive my Infernity Destroyer (2300/1000)!" A beam of energy shot out of the card and towards The Emperor, incinerating it. Rising up soon afterwards on Chazz's side of the field was a brown orc-like demon wearing silver body armor and wristplates. On the armor were strange red markings.

"Impressive. I activate Graceful Charity." Sartorius drew three cards, then discarded two that he already had in his hand. "I end my turn." Sartorius said.

Chazz drew. And once again, Tour of Doom activated. It landed upright, as Sartorius called, meaning Chazz couldn't summon a monster this turn. That was fine by him. He had two monsters on the field ready to attack Sartorius directly. "I switch my Infernity Archfiend to attack mode. Now, both of you, attack directly!"

"I activate my trap card Pinpoint Guard! This allows me to special summon a level 4 monster in Defense Mode, and it can't be destroyed by battle or card effects. Come forh, Arcana Force VI - The Lovers!" (1600/1600) Sartorius summoned a gray alien in a dark robe, purple futuristic spots over it's chest, waist, and overly large hands. "With the effect of my Light Barrier, I choose for The Lovers to have it's upright effect, meaning it can count as two tributes for an Arcana Force monster.

Chazz grunted and looked at the White Veil he set. It was becoming seriously tempting. But he didn't need a card slipped into his deck by somebody else to win. "I set a card and end my turn."

"You're afraid to activate that card, I see." Sartorius said.

"What are you talking about?"

"No need to hide it from me. I already know. The Light's gift to you."

"The Light's gift? Wait a second...YOU were the one who slipped the card in my deck, weren't you?"

Sartorius drew, and Light Barrier began to rotate. "It will land upright." Sartorius said. Once again, it landed upright, Sartorius drawing an extra card for a total of five cards in his hand. "Your fear. Your hesitation to make a choice. Doesn't it remind you of someone else? The one you view as your only friend?"

"I'm getting sick of your mind games you know. Besides, The Chazz doesn't need friends."

The transparent image of Ojama Yellow popped up next to Chazz. "But what about me, boss?"

"Even if I did want any, you'd be the last person I'd consider a friend."

Sartorius shown the card that he drew to Chazz. A black and gray machine with yellow glowing dots over it's body and the fingers of it's mechanical hands, along with a blue glass circle over it's chest. It seemed to be a stais chamber of some kind as floating inside it's chest floated a light blue alien with a large head and mechanical tendrils for legs. "The Moon. Representing illusion. Deception. And Fear. Things that are all too familiar to the boy, Damian."

"What, your next mind game relies on telling me that Damian's a traitor? Hate to tell you, but you're kinda late to the party on that." Chazz replied.

"Do you truly think he told you everything? Have you ever stopped to think why he tried to kill himself in his duel against Gagagigo? Have you ever wondered what the darkness he was harboring that Invader of Darkness talked about even was?"

"How do you know all that?!" Chazz demanded.

"I told you. I forsee it. During my Standby Phase, I activate Quick Summon. I sacrifice The Lovers, which now counts as two tributes, to summon Arcana Force XVIII - The Moon (2800/2800)!" The animated stasis chamber appeared on the field, looming over Chazz's monsters.

"Why waste a Quick Summon to summon it in your Standby Phase? What difference would it make?"

"With Light Barrier's effect, I decide that it will have it's upright effect. Now thanks to The Moon's effect, during my Standby Phase, I can special summon one Moon Token (0/0) to my field!" Bursting out of the stasis chamber was the large headed alien that The Moon held.

"In attack mode?" Chazz asked.

Sartorius smiled. "Next, I activate the spell card Creature Swap. Both of us choose a monster we control and give it to the opponent. I choose my Moon Token."

Now Chazz realized why Sartorius went through all the trouble. If Sartorius attacked the Moon Token while Chazz controled it with either Infernity that Chazz would give, then Sartroius would win the duel. "Not bad, but not good enough. I activate my counter trap card, Infernity Barrier! When you activate a spell or trap while I control an Infernity monster in attack mode and have no cards in my hand, your card is negated and destroyed!"

Sartorius sighed and put the spell card in his graveyard slot. "It seems that you continue to refuse to accept my gifts. The Moon, destroy Infernity Archfiend!" From it's fingertips, The Moon shot out laser beams at Chazz's Infernity, destroying it. (Chazz 1700-700) Once again, Chazz began to see visions.

Chazz was watching Damian's duel against Alexis. 'I'd prefer it if Alexis won. Damian's been making a fool out of Obelisk Blue students for a while. Somebody's gotta put him in his place.' Chazz thought.

Chazz was walking through the forest with Ghassan. They were heading in the same direction Jaden and Damian ran off to. "And let me guess. You'd hate Damian too if he decided to make the same bet against you as Topher did?" Ghassan asked.

"Absolutely."

"...I was joking, but nice to see that my little brother has some really shallow friends."

Chazz held his head in pain. These visions were different. They were from what already happened instead of the future.

"Perhaps you're right. You don't view Damian as a friend. But in that case, I suppose you don't really have any friends then, do you?" Sartorius asked. "Anyway, due to Light Barrier, I gain life points equal to your destroyed monster's attack points" Sartorius said. (Sartorius 2200-4000)

The pain in Chazz's head began to go away. "Ughh..." He took a look at the Moon Token that Sartorius controlled. Now that it was in attack position, Chazz could attack it next turn. But it wouldn't be enough to deplete his life points. Would he be forced to go on the defensive?

"I end my turn." Sartorius said.

Chazz drew a card. Then, Tour of Doom began to rotate. Sartorius predicted that it would land on Heads, and sure enough, it did, letting Sartorius draw thanks to Lucky Chance. "Now you can't summon this turn."

Chazz took a look at the card he drew. "I activate a second Pot of Greed." Chazz placed his hand on his deck. If he couldn't get cards to turn this around, he was through. "DRAW!"

Chazz took a look at the cards, and smled. "I activate my spell card Harpie's Feather Duster!" A feather duster in the shape of a bird wing materialized in the air. It let out a burst of wind towards Sartorius' field.

Sartorius gritted his teeth. "You still refuse to follow your fate?"

"Shut it! Nobody decides The Chazz's fate accept for himself!" The various spells and traps controlled by Sartorius shattered into pieces. The barrier of light that surrounded the two of them shattered as well. "Now your obnoxious cards are gone! Light Barrier can't negate my monster's effects anymore, and with Tour of Doom gone, I can summon again!"

"Looks like he avoided using White Veil." Chaosrider Gustaph pointed out.

D.D Master took a glance at the portal displaying Chazz's duel. "I see." He said. "But his trial isn't over."

Chazz took a look at the other card in his hand. "I summon my Infernity Sage!" (400/500) A humanoid in purple armor with a lower body that seemed to be made entirely of a dark red cape appeared. "Battle Phase! Infernity Destroyer, destroy his Moon Token!"

"I activate the effect of Arcana Force XIV - The Temperance from my hand. By discarding it during a battle, I take no battle damage!"

Infernity Destroyer punched the Moon Token, causing it to shatter into pieces. "You might not be taking battle damage, but that doesn't protect you from effect damage! When Infernity Destroyer destroys a monster you control while I have no cards in my hand, you take 1600 points of damage!"

"What?!"

"Infernity Burst!" Infernity Destroyer's hand glowed with red energy before launching it at Sartorius. (Sartorius 4000-2400) "You haven't seen nothing yet! Now in the Main Phase 2, I tune my Level 2 Infernity Sage to my Level 6 Infernity Destroyer!" The two Infernites jumped into the air, Infernity Sage transforming into two green circles which Destroyer went through. "Witness these sinister spirits combine their power! I synchro summon the Level 8 Infernity Doom Dragon!" (3000/2400)

A green flash shot out before the dragon descended on to the field. "You're using the deck that your friend sold to you rather well." Sartorius said.

"Huh? What are you-" Chazz suddenly remembered what Damian, Ghassan, and Scott said in Sheppard's office. They were the ones who brought these new monsters to their world. Though technically, this was a new Infernity Deck since Chazz's old decks all sunk at North Academy.

"I activate Infernity Sage's effect. When sent to the graveyard when I have no cards in my hand, I send another Infernity monster from my deck to the graveyard. I choose Infernity Patriarch. Next, I activate Doom Dragon's effect!" Chazz declared. "If I have no cards in my hand, I can destroy a monster you control. Then, you take damage equal to half the destroyed monster's attack points! But Doom Dragon can't attack the turn I use it's effect."

Infernity Doom Dragon's eyes lit up before a fire engufled The Moon. (Sartorius 2400-1000)

"I suppose you truly don't care about The Moon after all. Or anybody at Duel Academy besides yourself for that matter."

"Enough already! These are just random Duel Monsters that you're saying represent people I know." Chazz's head suddenly began to ache again. 'Ugh...not again...'

Chazz and Damian were standing inside Chazz's room. Chazz's bags were nearly packed up. "You just wanted to look like the hero. You didn't once think about how it would make me look pathetic. Give people more reason to disrespect me."

"Chazz, I-" Damian began to say.

"Save it." Chazz interrupted. "I'll show you and this entire academy that I don't need anybody else to be strong."

"The Moon tried to help you. Tried to stand up for you when you were being harassed. And you treated him with nothing but contempt." Sartorius said.

"Alright...good luck out there man." Damian said.

"Just get out of my room Damian." Chazz replied.

"Do you finally understand? Your pride, your arrogance. It leads you nowhere except to further pain. And not just for you. You led to the school turning against you! You are the one responsible for Damian being consumed by darkness! And if you remain complacent with how you are, you, Chazz Princeton, will cause the Sacred Beasts to awaken!"

Chazz widened his eyes. "That...that's not true!"

"But there is a way to salvation. As I said before." Sartorius put a card on his deck. "You must accept The Light!" Sartorius drew a card and immediately activated it. "I activate my spell card, Reverse Reborn! This lets me special summon an Arcana Force monster from my graevyard, and it automatically gains it's upside down effect. Witness the Arcana that represents you Chazz Princeton. I special summon Arcana Force XII - The Hangman!" (2200/2200)

A green amorphous blob hanging from what looked to be a tree-branch made out of a similar material as the blob appeared. But that wasn't all. The area itself around Chazz and Sartorius began to change. Trees and grass began to grow all around the area. The sky darkened. And suddenly, Chazz and Sartorius were standing in what looked to be the woods of Duel Academy.

"Wh-what did you-?!" Chazz began to ask.

"This is where I led you to salvation in a past timeline, Chazz. And when you decided to stop being satisfied with your stagnation."

From the various trees, several tendrils shot out and wrapped themselves around Chazz. "Boss!" Ojama Yellow yelled in concern.

"When The Hangman has it's upside down effect, I destroy one monster you control. Then, you take damage equal to it's attack points!"

"WHAT?!" Chazz yelled.

"The game is over Chazz. But your new path has just begun. Through The Light's salvation, you'll be able to escape from stagnation. You'll be able to save The Moon, Damian Abunura. And you'll be able to surpass the ones you fear. The Magician, Bastion Misawa. The Emperor, Adrian Gecko. And The Fool, Jaden Yuki."

"I...I'll be able to beat Jaden?" Chazz asked. The life in Chazz's eyes began to dim.

"Chazz, before you said that destiny can be chosen. And you're correct in some regards. You can choose with destined path you walk. I can lead you to your desired destiny."

"Boss, don't listen to him!" Ojama Yellow yelled.

"Will you continue your mediocre life? Or will you choose to improve yourself?"

"I...I...I WANT TO BE STRONG!" Chazz yelled.

D.D Master turned back to Jaden's portal. "Princeton failed his test."

The tendrils wrapping around Chazz began to life him into the air. "Then let me welcome you to your new life. A life of embracing The Light!"

Infernity Doom Dragon began to glow up. Soon, it would explode, and Chazz's life points would deplete.

"But I'll do it WITHOUT your help!" Chazz yelled.

D.D Master turned back to Chazz's portal in interest. "Huh?"

"What are you-?" Sartorius began to ask. He then took a look at Chazz's monster. "Infernity Doom Dragon...it's still standing?!"

"That's right!" Chazz said. Sartorius loked up in the air. Rather than being held upside down, Chazz was standing on top of the extended branches. "I activated Infernity Patriarch's effect! By removing it from play while in the graveyard, I negate the destruction of an Infernity I control!"

"Boss!" Ojama Yellow exclaimed.

"You still choose to refuse The Light? You choose to stay stagnant?" Sartorius asked.

Chazz smirked. "Don't lecture me with your 30 dollar haircut. I'm gonna escape this stagnation. I'll beat my rivals. And I'll save Damian. All on my own!"

Sartorius gritted his teeth. "I activate Magician's Scales to tribute The Hangman to add a spell card to my hand. I add and activate my Swords of Revealing Light."

Three swords made out of light shot down from the sky, surrounding Chazz's dragon. "This prevents you from attacking for three turns. And now that I control no monsters, your Doom Dragon can't use it's effect. I end my turn."

Chazz drew a card, looked at it, and smiled. "Sorry. But that won't matter. I summon Infernity Necromancer (0/2000) in defense mode. Then, I use it's effect to special summon my Infernity Wildcat!" (1400/0) The flaming demonic cat returned. "I tune my level 3 Infernity Wildcat to my level 3 Infernity Necromancer!" Wildcat jumped into the air and transformed into three green circles, Infernity Necromancer going through them. "Climb out from the depths of hell to lay waste to everyone in our way! I synchro summon my level 6 Infernity Doom Archfiend! (2200/1600)"

A flash of green light occured before a monster looking incredily similar to Infernity Archfiend descended onto the field. However, it was wearing a red and purple robe, and had large spiked gold bracelets over it's wrists. "I activate Infernity Doom Archfiend's effect. I can target any card on the field, and negate it's effects. Then, if I have no cards in my hand, it gets destroyed!"

"WHAT?!" Sartorius reacted.

"Demonic Infernal Pressure!" Doom Archfiend summoned several alchemic circles, each shooting out a large hand made out of pink energy that grabbed onto one of the swords. Soon, the swords surrounding Chazz's monsters began to glow purple before dissipating. "Infernity Doom Dragon, attack directly!" The dragon flew towards Sartorius and slashed through him.

"GRAHHHHHH!" (Sartorius 1000-0) A flash of bright white light shot out, engulfing the area.

Chazz suddenly found himself laying on a stone platform in the dimensional void yet again. "What the-?!" Chazz asked.

"Good job. You passed the test." Gustaph said.

Chazz stood up, turning to D.D Master and Chaosrider Gustaph. "So, you brought in that Sartorius guy to duel me?"

"More like I created an illusion in his likeness." D.D Master replied. "You avoided the temptation to use White Veil, and rejected his offer. It seems that you can avoid being tempted by The Light after all."

"I get it now. It doesn't matter if we win our duels or not. Our opponents aren't real. To pass the test, we just have to avoid being tempted, right?" Chazz asked.

"In your case, that's spot on. But that Kuriboh haired kid isn't dueling an illusion." Gustaph said.

"What?"

"He's been sent to a dimension where damage done in duels is real." D.D Master said.

"Wait a sec...you'll let Jaden die if he loses his duel?!" Chazz yelled.

D.D Master said nothing.

"All we can do now is wait and watch." Gustaph said to Chazz.

(Jaden 1400/Supreme King 1500)

Jaden didn't know how to react. His own monster was used as a fusion material by his opponent. He had four cards in his hand and a clear field. The Supreme King had five cards in his hand and controlled Evil Hero Malicious Bane (3000/3000) along with the field spell Supreme King's Castle.

"Well? It's your move." The Supreme King said to Jaden.

Jaden took a look at one of the cards in his hand. 'Still...I have the same Super Polymerization card that he just used. I don't really know how to use it, but if I have no other option...' "I...I set three cards facedown. Then I activate Card of Demise. I draw until I have five cards in my hand. Then, durign my fifth standby phase after activation, I send all cards in my hand to the graveyard." Jaden went from an empty hand to having five cards. "I end my turn."

The Supreme King drew. "I activate Burial from a Different Dimension to return my banished Wildheart, Avian, and Sinister Necrom to my graveyard. Next, I activate a second Dark Calling to remove Avian and Wildheart from my graveyard once again."

Jaden widened his eyes. "Don't tell me..."

"I special summon a second Evil Hero Wild Cyclone!" (1900/2300) A large amount of wind began to build up before Wild Cyclone burst out of it.

The Duelists of Death were certain that the game was over. When Wild Cyclone attacks, the boy couldn't activate his set cards.

"I activate my quickplay spell, Flute of Summoning Kuriboh! I get to special summon a Winged Kuriboh (300/300) from my deck!" The winged puffball appeared in defense position.

"That little runt is the best protection you have?" Guardian Baou asked.

The Supreme King paused. "Winged Kuriboh's effect. When it's destroyed, you won't take battle damage for the rest of the turn."

"You got that right." Jaden said.

"Hmph. I activate Malicious Bane's effect. It destroys all monsters you control with attack points lower than it. Then, Malicious Bane gains 200 ATK for each monster destroyed." Malicious Bane shot out a wave of dark aura at Winged Kuriboh.

"Kuriiiiii!" The spirit yelled in pain.

"Partner!" Jaden yelled in concern.

Winged Kuriboh was slowly engulfed by the aura, which was then dragged back into Malicious Bane. (Evil Hero Malicious Bane 3000-3200/3000)

"You won't take battle damage if Wild Cyclone attacks, so for now, I can't destroy your other facedown card. I set two cards and end my turn." The Supreme King said. "It seems that you aren't simply trying to imitate me."

"Huh?" Jaden asked.

"Your Elemental Heroes. Your Winged Kuriboh. I remember using them."

Jaden widened his eyes. "So it is true...you ARE me." The Supreme King nodded.

The Duelists of Death were all taken aback by this. "No wonder the kid had so many similarities." Guardian Baou said.

"Then why...why would you do something so terrible?!" Jaden asked.

"There are times where, in order to defeat evil, you need to cross some lines yourself." The Supreme King answered. "Believe it or not, before I realized this, this dimension was at an even worse state than before. Brron, the Mad King of Dark World, regularly massacred villages of people who couldn't fight, and enslaved Duel Spirits. But I didn't take him seriously. I simply attacked stronghold after stronghold of his, thinking my passion alone would be enough to solve matters. That's when I learned my mistake."

"What do you mean?" Jaden asked.

"I defeated Brron, but lost all my companions. They were either killed, or turned their backs from me because of my recklessness." The Supreme King closed his eyes. "If I didn't take control over this dimension, another of Brron's men would have simply took over and continued his way of ruling. That's why I needed to eliminate the problem entirely."

"By taking over this world yourself?" Jaden asked.

The Supreme King nodded. "It's ture that I've killed many duelists myself. But that's nothing compared to what would be done if I didn't take over. Being heroic does nothing but leave to more misery."

"You're wrong!" Jaden yelled. "No matter what happens, you can always make things better without hurting innocent people! That's what being a Hero is all about!"

"You haven't lost everyone who you held dear yet, have you?" The Supreme King asked. Jaden didn't respond. "As I thought. I wouldn't expect someone who never felt complete loss to understand."

"It's my move!" Jaden drew. smiling as he looked at the card. "I activate Polymerization to fuse my Elemental Hero Avian with my Elemental Hero Burstinatrix!" The two monsters swirled together in the vortex. "I special summon my Elemental Hero Flame Wingman!" (2100/1200)

"I see your plan. Destroy my Wild Cyclone, then use Flame Wingman's effect to deplete the rest of my life points. But don't forget. The Supreme King's Castle allows my Fiend Monsters to gain attack points whenever they battle one of your monsters."

"Well it isn't staying around for long. From my hand, I activate Mystical Space Typhoon to destroy your field spell!" A blue cyclone shot out from the card, and engulfed the castle behind the Supreme King. The moat of lava began to morph back to regular ground.

The Duelists of Death started to get worried. "If the King doesn't have his field spell, then the boy's monster can destroy his Wild Cyclone!" Skilled White Magician pointed out.

"Flame Wingman's effect is similar to Infernal Wing's. So if the attack goes through..." Skull Knight began to say.

"Fame Wingman, destroy Wild Cyclone! Infernal Rage!" Flame Wingman aimed it's dragon arm at the Evil Hero and shot out a torrent of flames.

"I activate my trap card, Nightmare Archfiends." The Supreme King said. Before the flames reached it, Wild Cyclone disappeared.

"What the-?" Jaden asked. Suddenly, three jet black devils with long blue hair appeared on Jaden's side of the field. "Wh-what's going on?!"

"With Nightmare Archfiends, I can tribute a monster I control. Then, I special summon three Nightmare Archfiend Tokens (2000/2000) on your side of the field."

Jaden gritted his teeth. With Wild Cyclone gone, Flame Wingman's only attack target was Malicious Bane, which was stronger than Flame Wingman. "I end my turn."

The Supreme King drew. "It's over. When a Nightmare Archfiend Token is destroyed, you take 800 points of damage."

Jaden gasped. Malicious Bane could use it's effect to destroy all the monsters on Jaden's field. Then Jaden would take 2400 points of damage in total. It was now or never. "I activate my quickplay spell, Super Polymerization!"

"What?!" The Supreme King asked.

"Impossible! That boy has it too?!" Chaos Sorcerer reacted.

A huge vortex formed behind Jaden. "I fuse my Elemental Hero Flame Wingman with your Evil Hero Malicious Bane!"

The Supreme King's Evil Hero was forcibly dragged to Jaden's side of the field, merging with his Flame Wingman. "I summon my newest hero! Elemental Hero Sunrise-!" Jaden suddenly felt a stabbing pain in his head. "Arghhhh!"

The vortex faded away. Flame Wingman and Malicious Bane were back in their original positions. "Super Polymerization's effect was cancelled?" The Supreme King asked himself.

Jaden was duelling a purple demon demonic creature with white fur and bones sprouting from his head. Chazz, Alexis, Atticus, and some musuclar dark skinned boy wearing a dinosaur bandana were chained up. Chazz was angrily screaming at Jaden for putting them in danger and not considering what they were going through. Soon, Chazz dissolved into light. Soon afterwards, Alexis, Atticus, and the unknown fourth person all dissolved into light as well.

"Wh-what was...?" Jaden asked.

The Supreme King composed himself. "It's still my turn. I activate Malicious Bane's effect to-"

"GYAHHHHHHH!" Jaden screamed. More visions rushed through his head. Syrus, now in Ra Yellow clothing, yelling at Jaden for his actions before leaving him. Duels where Jaden as the Supreme King killed his opponents. And finally, a pink skinned demon with bat wings, white and dark hair, and a third eye in it's forehead. It looked oddly familiar to Jaden.

"Jaden. My love." It said.

Soon, all the displayed monsters disappeared.

"What the hell?!" Skull Knight asked.

Jaden collapsed onto the ground, unconscious.

"What...what happened?" Skilled Dark Magician asked.

"Duels don't end in this dimension unless there's a loser, but here..." Chaos Sorcerer said.

"Perhaps we could kill the boy the old fashioned way." Skull Knight suggested, drawing out a sword.

"No." The Supreme King said "There's many things that I want to discuss with him about."

The Supreme King started to walk towards Jaden's body before Guardiana Baou spoke up. "Look! Above the boy!"

A small multicolored vortex opened up. It engulfed Jaden's body before disappearing.

D.D Master put Jaden's unconscious body on the ground. "He'll wake up soon."

"How did the duel stop anyway?" Chaosrider Gustaph asked. "I thought duels couldn't end in that world unless someone died."

"There are exceptions. If a duelist is physically unable to continue the duel, then it will end without anyone needing to die." D.D Master answered.

"Wait, what was all that about?!" Chazz demanded. "It's one thing to hear about Jaden having some evil side inside him. But what the hell is that Super Polymerization card? Let alone why it caused him to pass out?"

D.D Master turned to Chazz. "It shouldn't conern you. You're never seeing the boy again."

"Huh?" Chazz reacted.

"The boy was unable to handle the strain of what he did in a different timeline. Not only did he fall unconscious, but if I didn't drag him back, he might have been taken over by the darkness inside him. Then that would mean there are TWO Supreme Kings in one dimension. That's something I absolutely wouldn't want to happen. I never should have allowed him to take a test in the first place. Regardless, he failed the test."

"Hold on a second! Jaden didn't buy into the spiel from that Supreme King guy, remember?"

"Kid's got a point." Gustaph said.

"And yet he used Super Polymerization, and nearly fell to the darkness." D.D Master countered.

"True, true."

"Would you shut up already?!" Chazz yelled at Gustaph.

Winged Kuriboh materialized and flew in front of D.D Master. "Kuri! Kuri, kuri!" It yelled angrily.

Ojama Yellow flew up next to it. "Yeah! Jaden didn't even do anything wrong yet! And now that he knows about what might happen, he can try to avoid it!"

"Did your foget about the Invader of Darkness?" D.D Master asked. "If he draws out the darkness fom inside Jaden, The Supreme King will reawaken. And that's not even considering how The Light of Destruction may hasten his memories returning."

Winged Kuriboh glared at D.D Master, but didn't seem to have a counter.

"And what about if I take those two down?" Chazz asked.

"Hm?"

"My trial was all about fighting off being tempted by The Light of Destruction. I passed. You said so yourself. And I already had plans to find The Invader of Darkness and take him out. Then Jaden can come back without a risk, right?"

"Boss...I thought you hated Jaden." Ojama Yellow said.

"Don't misunderstand. I'm only doing this because I have a score to settle with Jaden."

"The Invader of Darkness is one thing. But you're severely overestimating your abilities if you think you can singlehandedly defeat The Light of Destruction." D.D Master said,

"Don't underestimate The Chazz!" Chazz replied.

"Besides boss. Jaden's Gentle Darkness is the best shot at taking out The Light of Destruction anyway." Gustaph pointed out.

D.D Master said nothing for a little while. "Gustaph. Take Jaden to Neo Space. It's the best opportunity for him to train his powers."

"Neo Space?" Chazz asked. This whole time, it seemed like random words were being flinged at Chazz.

Gustaph nodded, as he hauled the unconscious Jaden onto his bike. "I'll explain the situation to the Neo Spacians." Gustaph revved up his bike and rode off.

"Hang on, what's-"

D.D Master turned to Chazz. "Jaden Yuki will be returned to your dimension when Invader of Darkness is defeated, and no sooner. And that's only if he leanrs to control the Gentle Darkness."

"And this Light of Destruction thing?" Chazz asked.

"At the moment, the most you can do is drive it out of some of the duelists it inhabits. Only The Gentle Darkness can destroy it at it's source." D.D Master opened up a vortex "This will take you to your dimension, where your friends are waiting for you. I'd recommend that you don't bring up The Light of Destruction to the students at Duel Academy however."

"Huh? Why's that?"

"Because there are multiple duelists at Duel Academy who serve under it. If they find out you know about it, they'll find a way to kill you."

Chazz's eyes widened. He remembered what Damian said to Scott after defeating Crowler.

"I'm going to get us home Scott. WITHOUT The Light."

"Damian, Scott, and Ghassan. Those three work for The Light, don't they?" Chazz asked.

I would have gotten this chapter out about a week or so ago. But then I started getting back into a certain game, Yakuza 0. It's an incredibly fun time, and I'm pretty addicted to it. One day, I spent 10 hours of the day on it, the majority of it being spent on a sidestory about managing a Cabaret Club. Well, hopefully I'll be better at tearing myself away from it in the future, lol.

Things are getting tense. Jaden has been taken to Neo-Space, and Chazz has pieced together that our villain protagonists are...well, VILLAIN protagonists. And with Jaden in another dimension for a while, the might spell doom for Adrian and Damian's plans to take Jaden's Gentle Darkness for themselves. How will things play out from here?

Hope you guys enjoyed the chapter, and have a great day!
