YAMI'S POV

CHAPTER FORTY TWO

Yami rushed through the hallway, pushing aside guards and dodging spears. A guard shouted at him. "Stop! in the name of the Pharaoh!" Yami didn't slow down.

"Out of my way!" He demanded.

The hallway opened up to the main throne room, where several people seemed to be holding a meeting. They turned at the commotion, as about ten guards burst into the room. "Stop him!" They shouted.

The people glanced at each other and rustled their robes in distain.

"Everyone freeze!" A voice commanded. All heads turned to the front of the room. Yami grudgingly skidded to a stop.
The Pharaoh rose from his feet, staring at Yami. "What in the name of Ra are you doing?"

Yami found he had no words, not like anyone would understand what he was feeling. Seto appeared from the other hallway, scowling. "You dare disregard our hospitality?"

Yami scowled back at him, then turned to the king. "I mean no disrespect, but I have an emergency." He forced himself to stay calm, despite his skin prickling.

The Pharaoh frowned, contemplating his words. "What is this emergency?" Again Yami hesitated, then spoke.

"The boy I told you about, he's...in danger. I have to go rescue him! He's very important to me!" Seto scoffed.

"An excuse my king. Don't fall for it."

The Pharaoh raised his hand. "Enough. I have decided. You may go, but Seto must accompany you. Once you find the boy, return at once."

"What? I have to go with him?!" Yami and Seto complained simultaneously.

The Pharaoh stared at them silently. Seto harrumphed. Turning around with a flick of his robe, he stalked off. "Follow, knave."

Yami grumbled to himself as he followed the irritated priest, down the long hallway, turning at the corner, until at last, they reached the main entranceway. The Sphinx from before was still there, judging them silently, still guarding the door to who knows where.

Seto put two fingers in his mouth and whistled shrilly. A whinny sounded and a black horse galloped through the door and to Seto, rearing up before standing still. Seto smiled, saying soothing words to it in another language.

Yami waited impatiently as Seto took his time pampering the horse. It was a good ten minutes before he had enough.

"Seto if you don't stop right now I'll take your precious horse and go myself you windbag."

Seto turned to face him, a smug smile on his face. "Hah. Radinyeusi will only listen to me. (It means Black Thunder in Swahili.) You're wasting your breath."

Yami shut his mouth, fuming. 'This obnoxious little...who knows what's happening to Yugi. He certainly doesn't think it's anything to worry about. I'll give him something to worry about.'

Seto hopped onto the horse, glancing down at Yami. "Get up here already. I thought it was an emergency."

Ignoring him, Yami got up onto Radinyeusi. The horse snorted, pointing his ears back. Seto patted his head gently. "You better hold on to something, otherwise you'll fly off."

Yami scowled, and dug his knees into Radinyeusi's haunches, refusing to hold Seto for support. Seto smiled unkindly and looked foward. "Forwards!"

With no warning the horse charged towards the door, forcing Yami to grab Seto's waist for support. Wind wipped by as he tucked his head in and shut his eyes. 'I'm coming Partner.'
