After the teens and their mothers broke apart, Hilary turned to Ash. A serious expression appeared on her face.

"Now, Ash, I need you to look out for Hilda for me. I need you to help make sure she stays safe and out of trouble," she said to him. "Can I trust you with the job?"

"Absolutely, Ms. White. I won't let you down," Ash told her, feeling slightly intimidated by Hilary's current demeanor.

Hilary then smiled and backed up away from Ash. Then, with a final nod to their parents, Ash and Hilda turned and began to walk away.

"Take care, you two!" Delia called out to them.

"And be safe!" Hilary called afterwards before blowing her nose into a tissue.

"Good luck, and have fun!" Professor Oak called out next.

This is it. I'm off to become the very best like no one ever was! I have my new Oshawott, and I even have my old preschool friend traveling alongside me. Together with them, we can accomplish anything. Look out, world! Ash thought.

Ash and Hilda had both been waiting so long for this day, and now they were finally off on their adventure. Nothing could stop them now! They felt tough. They felt powerful. They felt...

"Don't forget to change your you-know-whats, every day, honey!" Delia called out to Ash.

Ash stopped short and slumped. "D'oh, why does she have to go and say that," he moaned, embarrassed.

Hilda was about to laugh at his predicament, but before she could utter out even a chuckle...

"The same goes for you, dear!" Hilary called out to her.

Hilda fell over in embarrassment.
