Schreave Palace. Province of Angeles. 4 Months into the selection.
The departure of Anna Bristol had been unpleasant for Crown Princess Melody Schreave. In an attempt to get her mind off of it, she decided to go on a date with Rosa Quinton. She decided to keep it simple and took her into the royal kitchen where the freezer was and in that freezer were several tubs of ice cream. It was a freaking buffet as the princess and the law student each sat down on the floor, grabbed a spoon and a tub of ice cream and proceeded to dig into it. Melody had spumoni while Rosa broke into the mint chocolate chip.
"Oh my God...this is so good!" Rosa exclaimed as she stuffed her face with minty and chocolatey goodness.
"I know right, I get the servants to always keep in stocked with ice cream for emergencies: time of the month, getting left home alone, a need to drown my sorrows." Melody explained as she enjoyed spoonfuls of mint, chocolate, and strawberry ice cream.
"Well, it's a good thing that you can afford to have a freezer packed with ice cream for when you need to deal with life's worries." Rosa replied as she snuck a spoonful of the spumoni which caused Melody to even the scales and steal some of the mint chocolate chip. As the two women filled their bellies, the topic of conversation turned to the selection.
"So, do you have an idea of who will win the selection?" Rosa inquired. She wasn't trying to field out Melody's feelings towards her or gossip about the other elites. She simply did not know what else to talk about because it was all that had been taking up her thoughts.
"Well, Romeo seems like a nice guy...and Lucrezia is so beautiful and an amazing actress...and Noah is, he is just amazing." Melody replied as she thought of the options that still remained.
"Seems like you have a hard choice in front of you." Rosa said as she licked her spoon clean. The Princess nodded as she leaned in close and rubbed noses with the lawyer to be.
"The fact that you are so wonderful makes it harder." Melody whispered as she pushed the ice cream aside and began to passionately make out with miss Quinton.
Later that afternoon.
Lucrezia made a point to put on her Sunday best as she was summoned to another private audience with her majesty: Queen Jessamine Schreave. Once she was picture perfect, she arrived at the Queen's receiving room where she was met by the ladies in waiting.
"Your Majesty, Miss Lucrezia Bellincioni is here to see you." One of the ladies announced as the Queen came into the receiving room.
"Very good...leave us." Queen Jessamine commanded as the ladies in waiting all bowed to their mistress before vacating the room. She invited Lucrezia to have a cup of lemon tea as she sat down.
"In light of our new...alliance, I have an issue. See it attended to and you will be one step closer to our goal." the Queen replied.
"Marrying Melody." Lucrezia replied dreamily.
"And securing the matriarch." the Queen added as she gently gave Lucrezia's hand a squeeze. She then pulled out an emerald necklace.
"It is very beautiful, your majesty." the actress remarked as she touched the emeralds and admired their green beauty.
"It is one of my favorite necklaces." Jessamine replied as she petted the necklace as if it was a kitten that she had raised from birth.
"Do you wish to give it to me?" Lucrezia asked which earned a laugh from the royal matriarch.
"Of course not, I want you to take this necklace and hide it in the room of miss Rosa Quinton." the Queen instructed as Lucrezia was taken by surprise.
"Why would you want me to do that?" the actress asked in surprise.
"I will realize that one of my favorite necklaces has been stolen which will prompt the royal guards to a complete search of the palace. Eventually, they will find it in the room of miss Quinton and she will be offered a deal: We will not charge her with treason if she agrees to bow out gracefully." Queen Jessa explained as Lucrezia swallowed every word.
"It is a brilliant plan, my Queen!" Miss Bellincioni exclaimed as she let out a glee of delight. She knew that stealing and framing someone for a crime that they did not commit was wrong. However, any guilt or shame that the actress from Waverly may have felt was overshadowed by her desire to be Melody's wife and co-Queen of Illèa.
"I will see it done, Your Majesty." Lucrezia insisted with determination in her face and voice.
"I sincerely hope that you will." the Queen replied as she finished her tea. She needed the actress to be her pawn in the chess game that she was playing for the throne of Illèa. Jessamine Schreave would not see all her plans fall to pieces when she was so close.
A PLOT IS IN MOTION. WILL ROSA BE ABLE TO SURVIVE IT? REVIEWS NEEDED AND APPRECIATED.
