I held my breath as I internally screamed bracing for impact before my body fell into the pool. The Doctor was quick to help me out, "Are you alright", he asked me.
"Yeah, are you", I asked him, he nodded as we looked up to look at the console above our heads. We climbed up and pressed a button to go forward in time and held on for dear life as the Tardis jerked us around.
The Tardis was still smoking and burning all around us, but at least it seemed to cool off a bit after we landed. However, we quickly had to get out of there since the smoke was still overwhelmingly engulfed inside of the Tardis and only when we were outside did we realize how much time had passed.
Looking around I stated, "Looks like we've been gone overnight." He nodded, then I turned to look at him, "Did you see what was at the end of the hall", I asked him.
"Yeah", he replied and then we ran back to Amelia's house, "Amelia", we both called out.
"We worked out what it was. I know what I was missing", the Doctor said as he pulled out his screwdriver to use to unlock the door. Once the door was open we quickly ran in.
"Amelia", "Amelia are you there", "Amelia are you alright", the Doctor and I both called out to her hoping for an answer as we ran up the stairs.
I pointed at the door, "There it is", I exclaimed, "I know where it is", the Doctor told me as he took out his screwdriver to examine the door he failed to notice the first time.
"Prisoner Zero is here! Prisoner Zero is here! Prisoner Zero is here! DO you understand me?! Prisoner Zero is-", the Doctor exclaimed, "Amelia! Please open the-" I exclaimed before the Doctor was knocked out and when I turned around the last thing I saw was some sort of giant wooden paddle heading straight for my face, before I blacked out.
In our heads we heard our names being called out, before we finally awoke to a woman police officer standing over us as our wrists were handcuffed to the heater.
"White male, mid-20s; white female", the woman said and then paused, "Twenty maybe a bit younger, breaking and entering. Send some back up. I've got them restrained", she said into her radio, I noticed as my vision cleared.
Then she looked over to us as we began to move, "Oi! You two! Sit still", she ordered narrowing her eyebrows.
The Doctor coughed as we both straightened up to look at her in confusion, "Cricket bat. I'm getting cricket bat", the Doctor questioned.
"Was that what that was", I asked him and he nodded at me before looking back at the woman.
"You were breaking and entering", the woman told us as she placed her hands on her hips and then raised her eyebrows at us.
"Well, that's much better. Brand new me, whack on the head. Just what I needed", the Doctor said and I narrowed my brows at him.
"Easy for you to say. You didn't get hit in the face", I complained rubbing my nose, before he turned his head to examine my face.
"Do you want to shut up now? I've got back up on the way", the woman told us and we both glanced back up at her with narrowed brows.
"Hang on, no, wait- you're a police woman", the Doctor exclaimed, "I think that was pretty obvious Doctor", I told him and he shushed me.
"And you're breaking and entering. You see how this works", she told him.
"But what are you doing here? Where's Amelia", the Doctor asked her and she seemed a bit surprised at the mention of the name.
"Amelia Pond", she questioned nervously and I narrowed my brows observing her as she spoke.
"Yeah. Little scottish girl. Where is she? We promised her five minutes, but the engines were phasing. I suppose we must have gone a bit far", the Doctor trailed off.
"Did something happen to her", I added.
"Amelia Pond hasn't lived here in a long time", the woman replied as she was now observing us.
The Doctor gaped at her, "How long", I asked her as I gulped guiltily, "Six months", she told me and my eyes widened at that.
"What?! No. No! No! We can't be six months late! We said five minutes. Didn't we say five minutes", the Doctor asked the last part to me and I nodded. "See! We promised", the Doctor told her and then reached for my hand, holding it comfortingly.
"What happened to her", "What happened to Amelia Pond", the Doctor and I asked her in a panic.
The woman turned away from us and was seemingly talking into the radio again, "Sarge, it's me again. Hurry it up, these people know something about Amelia Pond."
Both the Doctor and I stared at the door across the hall, the one that was barely visible. Then the woman turned back to face us annoyed.
"We need to speak to whoever lives in this house now", the Doctor told her.
"I live here", she told him, "But your police", the Doctor said confused. "Yes and this is where I live. You got a problem with that", she asked him hotly.
"Tell me something. How many rooms are there", I asked her and she gave me a confused look.
"I'm sorry, what", she asked me, "On this floor. How many rooms on this floor. Count them", the Doctor added.
"Why", she asked us, "Because it'll change your life", he told her.
That's a bold claim, I thought and the Doctor elbowed me playfully, I couldn't help but smirk at that as the woman gave us confused looks.
"Five", she told us and then proceeded to count each room, "One, two, three, four, fi-", "Six", the Doctor corrected her.
"Six", she questioned, "Behind you", I told her and she narrowed her brows at me, "Look", the Doctor encouraged her.
"Where", she questioned nervously, "Exactly where you don't want to look, the corner of your eye", the Doctor clarified.
Then the woman slowly turned around to look behind her straight at the door at the end of the hallway.
"That's...that's not possible. How's that possible", she asked us.
"There's a perception filter around that door. We sensed it last time we were here. Should've seen it", the Doctor told her.
"But that's a whole room. That's a whole room I've never even noticed", she told us.
"Because you were never supposed to see it or didn't want to", I told her.
"The filter stops you. Something came a while ago to hide. It's still hiding", the Doctor added.
"You need to uncuff us so we can help", I told her.
"I don't have the key, I lost it", she told me, "How could you have lost it", the Doctor exclaimed as the woman slowly made her way down the hall towards the camouflaged door.
"Stay away from that door", I called out to her, "Don't touch that door", the Doctor called out as well, but she just ignored us, fully inraptured by the "mysterious door."
"Listen", "Don't touch that door", the Doctor and I both exclaimed, but she continued to ignore us as she began to open it.
"Hey! Are you listening", I called out, but she ignored me.
The Doctor sighed in annoyance, "Why does no one ever listen? Do we just have faces that no one listens to", the Doctor called out to her and I shook my head as she stepped into the room.
He then dug into his pocket and then searched around his person, "Have you seen my screwdriver", he asked me and then I began searching around for it before shaking my head at him.
"My screwdriver, Where is it? Silver thing, blue at the end? Where did it go", the Doctor called out to the woman.
"There's nothing here", she called out to us from within the room.
"Whatever's there stopped you from seeing the room. What makes you think you can see it", the Doctor told her. "Please, just get out of there", I called out to her.
"Silver, blue at the end", she asked, "My screwdriver? Yeah", the Doctor told her. "It's here", she told him.
"Must have rolled under the door", I wondered, "Yeah, must have", the woman said unconvincingly and then added, "And then it must of jumped on the table."
"Get out of there", the Doctor called out to her, "Get out of that room now", I called out as well in panic as we pulled on our handcuffs to see into the room.
We saw her partially through the door and watched as she walked forward, "What is it", I asked her, "What are you doing",the Doctor added.
"There's nothing here, but…", the woman trailed off, "The corner of your eye…", the Doctor told her.
"What is it", the woman asked, "Whatever you do don't look at it", I warned.
"Don't try to see it. If it knows you've seen it, it will kill you", the Doctor told her. I stared at the Doctor in shock, before looking back towards the door worried.
"Do. Not. Look", the Doctor told her after looking at me. Then she screamed, "GET OUT", we both yelled at her.
The woman quickly got out and ran towards the Doctor and I, handing him his screwdriver. "Give me that", he ordered, before she handed it to him.
The Doctor was quick to raise his arm, pressed the button on the screwdriver, and used it to lock the door at the end of the hall. After that he swiftly used it to free our wrists.
"What's the bad alien done to you", the Doctor asked her, she and I gave him a funny look, "Will the door hold it", the woman asked him.
"It should", I told her, "Yes, of course", the Doctor added, "Doctor, what is it", I asked him.
"It's an interdimensional multiform from outer space, they're all terrified of wood", the Doctor told me.
Both the woman and I narrowed our brows at him, "You could've said it was just a shapeshifter from outer space. Less complicated", I told him.
"But it is more complicated than that", the Doctor argued.
"What's it doing", the woman asked us, "I don't know getting dressed? Run. Just go. Your back up's coming. We'll be fine", the Doctor told her.
She sighed, "There is no backup", the woman admitted and I looked up at her with narrowed brows.
"What do you mean by that", I asked her, "We heard you on the radio, you called for backup", the Doctor added.
"It's pretend. It's a pretend radio", she told us, "So...you're not a policewoman", I wanted to clarify.
She sighed, "No", then took off her hat and revealed her long red hair as she said, "I'm a kissogram."
That's when the door at the end of the hall decided to fall down to reveal a man and his dog and I narrowed my eyes at the pair as something seemed off.
"What the hell", I said quietly, "But it's just…" the woman triled off.
"No it isn't. Look at the faces", the Doctor told her, there was a weird filter on their faces as the dog remained calm, and the man growled and barked at us.
"What? I'm sorry, but what", the woman asked us baffled.
"It's all one creature. One creature disguised as two. Clever old multiform", the Doctor explained.
"Looks like they got the minds mixed up", I commented, "Yes, a rush job. Got the voice a bit muddled, did you", the Doctor told the creature who looked straight at us.
"Mind you, where did you get the pattern from? You'll need a psychic link, a live feed. How did you fix that", the Doctor asked it and the man/creature snarled in reply.
"To do a quick job of that and seeing as it hasn't left the house all this time...the person that they copied would have to be nearby", I told the Doctor who nodded in agreement.
Then the creature stepped forward still snarling before opening its mouth to reveal rows of razor sharp teeth.
"Stay boy", the Doctor ordered, but the creature didn't listen, "Us three. We're safe. Want to know why? She-", the Doctor said pointing upwards towards the woman, "Sent for backup."
"I didn't send for backup", the woman reminded him and I closed my eyes and mentally facepalmed.
"I know, that was a clever lie to save our lives", the Doctor told her annoyed, " Ok, yeah, NO back up. And that's why we're safe. Alone, we're not a threat to you. If we HAD backup you'd have to kill us", the Doctor told the creature.
"Doctor are you sure that's going to help", I asked him quietly, "It might, shh", the Doctor said quietly and then quickly shushed me.
Suddenly a loud booming voice could be heard from outside, "Attention, Prisoner Zero, the human residence is surrounded. Attention Prisoner Zero. The human residence is surrounded."
"Well, that's just great", I said quietly, the Doctor glanced over at me before coughing nervously looking back at the creature.
"What's that", the woman asked us, "Oh that? Would be back up", I told her smiling sarcastically.
"Right, from the top. We do have backup and that's definitely why we're safe", the Doctor told the creature relieved, however what the booming voice said next proved contrary wise.
"Prisoner Zero will vacate the human residence or the human residence will be incinerated", the booming voice said from outside.
I sighed and shook my head, "It'll be alright", the Doctor told me, "We're safe apart, from you know, incineration", the Doctor told the creature/Prisoner Zero left the hallway.
"Prisoner Zero will vacate the human residence or the human residence will be incinerated", the booming voice said again.
"ALRIGHT, we get it", I said annoyed as the Doctor tried getting his sonic screwdriver to work. He banged on the floor a couple of times before it finally worked as the booming voice kept repeating what it said.
Then the Doctor pressed the blue end of his screwdriver against the keyhole of each handcuff, then it detached itself, and we were free.
"Run", he told us quickly pushing the woman ahead and pulled me behind him. We ran down the hall, then down the stairs, and out the door. The Doctor was quick to shut it behind us and locked it using his sonic screwdriver.
"Kissogram", the Doctor exclaimed as we all quickly got away from the door, "Yes", the woman replied simply.
"Why pretend to be a police woman", I asked her, "You two broke into my house! It was this or a french maid! What's going on? Tell me", she yelled as we ran over to the Tardis.
"Tell me", she yelled again.
"An alien convict is hiding in your spare room disguised as a man and a dog", the Doctor told her, "And there's another alien, possibly warden of said convict, who wants the alien in your house. Who's about to incinerate it", I added.
"Exactly. Any questions", the Doctor asked her as he tried to open the Tardis, "Yes", she said, now seemingly even more confused.
"Me too. Wait...no, no don't do that! Not now", the Doctor yelled, "What's wrong", I asked him.
"It's still rebuilding, not letting us in", he told me. Then we heard Prisoner Zero who was disguised as a man and his dog, at the window of the woman's house, barking at us.
The booming voice kept repeating what it said as the woman dragged us both along, "Come on", she exclaimed.
"What", I asked confused and the Doctor was struggling to get free, "NO, wait, hang on. Wait, wait, wait", the Doctor said, before freeing himself from the woman's grasp before running to a shed.
"What is it", I asked confused, prying off the woman's hand and then walked up beside him.
"The shed", the Doctor told me, "What about it", I asked him confused.
"We destroyed it remember? The last time we were here, smashed to pieces", he told me.
"So there's a new one. Let's go", the woman told us.
"But the new one's got old. It's ten years old at least", the Doctor said studying the shed, before licking it and I narrowed my brows at him.
"Taste buds. We can taste the chemical components on our tongues and in this case the year. Twelve years. We're not six months late, we're twelve years late", he told me, before we looked over to the woman and a thought crossed my mind...but that couldn't be true could it?
The Doctor glanced over at me as the woman said, "He's coming", and he looked back over to her.
"You said six months", the Doctor said as we walked up to her, "Why did you say that", I asked confused and she refused to answer.
"Why did you say six months", the Doctor tried asking her and the woman started to get nervous, "We've got to go", she told us.
"This matters. This is important. Why did you say six months", he asked again and she hesitated before shaking her head.
"Why", I yelled demanding an answer, "Well, why did you promise five minutes", she yelled back.
The Doctor and I were taken aback by what she said, "What", the Doctor and I asked breathlessly at the same time.
