Luz charged at Belos and held her hand up. Her glove's glyph lit up and she launched fire at Belos. He easily dodged it but wasn't able to dodge the staff she slammed against the side of his head. Luz spun the staff around and sent a blast of magic at him. He was knocked back a little but remained standing.
"You've grown stronger in the past five years." He said.
"Shut up."
Luz slammed a glyph on the ground and sent an Ice spike at him. He melted into the ground and rose from behind her.
"Did you not learn from our first meeting?" He said.
"Yes, I did."
Luz rose her foot and revealed a fire glyph she put down. The fire hit Belos mask and he wiped as much fire away as he could. When he could see, he saw the heel of Luz's foot heading for his face. Luz's foot landed right on the mark. Belos stumbled and Luz smacked him across his, mask covered, face with the base of her staff. Belos was dazed and Luz pulled out her knife. She ran at him and started to push her knife through his mask. It started cracking as she pushed it in. He grabbed her hands and pushed her off. She dropped her knife and slides on her back. Luz groaned as her back rubbed against the hard floor. If it wasn't for her cape, she would've had a very damaged back. That's when she remembered, her cape. She did a Kip Up and ran at him again. She grabbed her cape and hit him with her cape, which she followed up with a hard punch. She repeated the process several times, using her cape to hide the follow up strike. With each strike, Belos' mask cracked more. Belos waited for the next strike and caught it. He stood up and grabbed Luz by the neck. He slammed her on the ground. And stomped on her ribs and, just like with Boscha, Luz's ribs broke. She started spitting up blood and Belos grabbed her by the cape. He took it off and tossed it aside. He pressed his foot on her neck. Luz started gasping for air.
"I never understood what my daughter saw in you. You're human, you're weak, you shouldn't be in this world to begin with. That's when I saw you five years ago, during our fight you looked around, looking for something. I finally understood, you heard the Titan, didn't you?" He picked her up and threw her into a wall, "I was curious as to how you, a mere human, could hear a God. Then I found your blood." He hit her hard in the stomach, making her bend over and vomit blood, "I had my Coven leader's run test, and to my surprise, I found a match." He used his staff and stabbed her in the leg with the tip. He continues as Luz screamed, "I wonder, how does it feel, to have failed her. To watch her die in your arms. Knowing that it's your fault. How does it feel... to be the one that caused your mother's death?"
Luz shook her head.
"No, you're lying! You're just trying to get inside my head!"
"I had a feeling you'll say that." He said, "This should prove the truth though."
He summoned a folder and sent it to her. Luz looked through the folder, her hands start shaking as she quickly realized that he was right. Eda was her mom. Her mom was killed and it was all her fault. Luz started to break down, crying. She blamed herself for Eda dying, that is now even worse because, now she knows, she got her mom killed. She looked up and instantly got backhanded into a wall. She fell to the ground and looked over to her right. She weakly reached out to it when Belos stepped on her arm. She screamed as he stood above her with her knife in his hand.
"Do you feel guilty for your mother's death?" He snapped the blade of her knife and dropped the pieces in front of her, "Don't worry, you'll see her soon."
He stomped on her head and threw her into another wall. She soon saw darkness. She opened her eyes and saw her in the same way when she connected to the Isles. Time was frozen and no one was around except for her unconscious body. She started to get up when a pair of feet stopped in front of her. Luz looked up at the person's face.
"Eda?"
"Hey, Kiddo." Eda picked her and looked at her, "Look at you, all grown up. Well, you definitely get your height from me. I'm still taller though."
"You're wearing heels." Luz said, "E-E-Eda, I-I-I missed you so much."
Eda opened her arms.
"Come on, do the parallel arm thing."
Luz hugged her.
"Eda, I-"
"How about you call me what I really am." Eda suggested.
"I-I-I... mom, I missed you." Luz said, "I'm sorry I failed you."
"Luz, it wasn't your fault." Eda looked at Luz's hand, "I see you have my ring."
Luz looked down at it.
"Yeah, Lilith said it has some special power." Luz said.
"Yeah, it allows you to speak to a dead relative. It's the reason you can talk to me right now." Eda let out a sigh, "Luz, I'm sorry. Had I known about you, I would've stayed."
Luz looked at the ground and stayed quiet for a minute.
"What happened?"
"Well, when a man and a woman love each other, the man sticks his-"
"I meant! How am I your daughter, what happened? How did you and my mom meet?"
"Well... it started when I was running from the Coven. I figured I'd hide in the Human Realm, seeing as I stole my dad portal when I ran away, there was no way they could follow. I found my way to bar and that's where I met Camila, that hot piece of ass. The way her hips moved when she danced, her face begging for me to join her, her eyes staring at me for the better part of twenty minutes. We started off talking, then we ordered a drink. That drink turned into two, then three, then ten. Before we knew it our drunk asses were in a cab back to Cami's house. I don't remember much, but I remember a drunk spell that I botched and I guess she ended up pregnant. The next morning, I ran, afraid of what would happen. Luz, I'm sorry I wasn't there for you. Let me fix that, anything you need to know, I'll tell you."
"Is it true that I can speak to the Titan?"
"Yeah, you didn't inherit my magic because of your world be devoid of it, probably a good thing, or else you would've inherited my curse too. But you managed to inherit that, due to our family connection to him." Eda said, "If you let him in, he will guide you. He will show you how to become a great ruler. My father used that power and abused it. I know that you won't." Eda looked up and down at Luz, "You look a little out of it, probably the heart transplant still affecting you."
"How did-"
"Kid, I know a lot about what's going on, I've been talking to the Titan for years. I learned a lot and got my magic back." Eda cupped Luz's face, "I know how to help you."
Eda closed her eyes and Luz felt her chest tighten and she looked at Eda with pain in her eyes.
"Remember, Luz. I will always love you. Before I died, I tried to tell you that I considered you my daughter, but now I want to say, I'm proud to be your mother."
Luz woke up and started to stand up. Belos turned to look at her, she was facing the wall and the only thing everyone saw was her back.
"You just won't give up, will you?" Belos asked, "Stay down and I'll make your death as painless as possible."
"Sorry, Grandpa. But this time..." Luz held out her hand, "I'm going to take you down."
Her staff flew into her hand and she knew that, this time, she can end this war.
