harmony735: I'm glad you enjoyed it :D. Yes some challenges may be a little over the top.
beanoamy: I hope the merge was a surprise. I didn't want to reveal it until this chapter. Now things will become messier.
Dannycs: I'm experimenting a lot with Duncan in this fic. I'm glad you enjoy him in the past episode.
WhatTheHeck23: Jejeje, about Amy, you're right, I'm trying to humanize her but not change her core if that makes sense. I hope in future chapters will explain that better.
And about Heather, c'mon she is a really bad liar and was not really good at fooling people, showing her mean face sooner or later. So she is probably the same right now ;).
Also I wanted to share with everyone my happiness because there is an announcement on Facebook that HBO Max will release 2 new seasons of Total Drama. The fandom is alive again :D.
And as always, a HUGE shoutout and THANKS to Geofics, who helps me proofread the episodes. This small paragraph is the least I can do tio show my gratitude. Thanks a lot.

Life is like a carnival Part 3
Last time on Total Drama Tyranny of the Masses, the carnival came to town. And not any carnival. It's the awesomest Total Drama Carnival of Pain. And it brought a lot of surprises, being the first challenge of the merge and also the first one with the returnees, cheater e-gamer Charlotte and our resident simp Cody.
And for this challenge, the campers have to compete against each other in classic carnival games in 1 vs. 1 events. The winner gets one point, and the loser is eliminated. If a contestant get three points they will win immunity in tonight's elimination.
Sammy leads with 2 points, followed by Brick, Alejandro, Charlotte, and Duncan with 1 point each. Amy, Shawn, Cody, Lilly, Heather, and Sky are already eliminated. Who will win the immunity, and who will go home tonight? Find out next on Total Drama: Tyranny of the Masses.
Round 7- Hot Dog stand
In fairs and carnivals, there are always food stands. Cotton candy, popcorns, hot dogs, ice cream, and French fries are the most common. But you can find almost everything, including waffles, crepes, and even bananas.
"Welcome, welcome dear customers. This is the hot dog stand, and as you imagine, the challenge is pretty easy. It's an eating contest! You have to eat AND KEEP DOWN as many hot dogs as you can in 3 minutes. This will be a fast one," announced Chris while twirling his cane around.
"This isn't really like a real contest," said Alejandro, folding his arms, "Can´t we change it to make it into a real challenge like making the hot dogs instead of just eating them?"
The host made a mocking smile and shook his head, "No my amigo. I'm sorry, but the rules are absolute. So give up and sit down so we can get started."
Alejandro's mouth twisted, but he didn't say anything else while Courtney sat with a serene and serious expression.
"You knew this would happen, right señorita? That was a low blow," said the Spaniard, who sounded hurt.
Courtney replied with a small smile. "Alejandro, I'm sure you would do the same. So enjoy your meal."
But before he could reply, the interns brought a plate full of hotdogs, but the sausages had a strange color.
"I'm sure that hot dogs aren't supposed to be green," said Courtney, taking one and observing it carefully, "What is this meat?"
Chris laughed, "Don´t worry, it's mystery meat. I assure you it's not poisonous, it's not rotten, and is edible. Bon appetit."
Alejandro looked with wide eyes at the pile of hotdogs and then at Courtney that began to chow down the first one easily and then the second.
He took one and bit it. The flavor was disgusting, and the bun was dry. There was no way he could eat something like this without throwing up. How could Courtney do this? He looked at his opponent, narrowing his eyes, but what he found was totally unexpected.
The Latin girl cleaned her mouth with a napkin and looked at Alejandro with the same small smile as before. She was watching him eating his first hotdog.
The Spaniard used all his willpower to finish the hotdog, and just then, Courtney ate another one, Alejandro forced the second one in his mouth, and Courtney then ate her fourth. It was obvious she was keeping a 2 hot dogs advantage. There was no way to beat her.
So he decided to give up, and after 3 minutes that seemed eternal, the challenge was over.
"What are you doing? This was supposed to be a gorge challenge! You can't just finish it like this, in a measly 4 vs. 2," shouted the host in an upset tone.
"Stop whining Chris. The rules are absolute and I think I ate 1 more hotdog than I should," replied the former CIT, looking at Alejandro who had only eaten 2 hotdogs.
The Spaniard nodded, showing a charming smile. "You win this one fair and square señorita. Congratulations, you outsmarted me."
The Latin girl also nodded and then walked back to the other contestants. There Duncan gave her a bottle of water.
Confessional: Alejandro
He was sitting in the confessional frowning. His face had a greenish tone. "I can´t believe there was an eating conquest, my only punto debil. It's not a surprise she remembered it after our small alliance in China during the World Tour season. Maybe she didn't lose her fangs after all."
Confessional: Courtney
"Ok, just to be fair, I would challenge Alejandro in the hotdogs stand even if Duncan didn't tell me. It was such an obvious idea," said Courtney looking down at the camera. She then sighed. "Ok maybe I wouldn´t. I admit that he had a good idea there."
Confessional: Chef
"I slaved for 1 hour making those sausages from all the meat I found in the freezer from the past season, and they just ate 6 damn hotdogs! Ungrateful kids. Now I know what'll be tomorrow's menu," said Chef glaring at the camera.
Chris sighed and shook his head while waiting for the campers to stand again in front of the wheel of fortune. "That was disappointing but fair. Let's forget about that challenge and see if the next contestants can do a more entertaining one. Chef please do the honors."
The big man looked angrier than usual and turned the wheel with such strength that it crackled. It spun and spun really quickly and took almost twice as long to stop and show who was the next camper, stopping at last at Charlotte.
"Charlotte, it's your turn again. It seems gamers also had good luck. What challenge will you choose this time? Maybe Chef's Mountain again?" asked Chris clapping at the e-gamer.
But she shook her head, narrowing her eyes at a camper. "No. This time I chose to go against Brick in his P1 costume. And the stage will be the Haunted House."
"It will be an honor to go against you, ma'am," said Brick, saluting, but he had a nervous look in his eyes, his knees trembling a little.
"The haunted house, are you brave enough to challenge it?" asked Chris, winking his painted eye. "I need to warn you it's not for the weak-willed and that we can't let you take the challenge if you have previous heart ailments."
Brick gulped but Charlotte only smiled. This was just what she wanted.
Round 8 -Haunted House
The haunted houses' official name is haunted locations, and these are simulations of actual haunted houses made for entertaining and scaring guests. The dilapidated and old building looked like a 2 story house with its windows blocked with wooden planks. There were no signs that showed it was an attraction.
The wind felt colder near the old building, and there was a creepy atmosphere around it. Lilly hugged Amy, and the twin stood near Mike. Cody hugged Heather, and Sammy hugged Shawn.
"Welcome Campers to the scariest attraction in the fair," said Chris using an eerie tone. "Hehehe, if we can call it an attraction. Because this one is actually a real haunted house we brought all the way from Muskoka."
Charlotte made a small smile while Brick looked at him with a nervous expression.
"Real haunted house?" asked the cadet in a choked voice.
Chris put the staff on the ground and nodded. "Yes, this was the set for Camp TV, a reality show concept before Total Drama. But during the first week a gruesome accident took the life of 3 contestants and the host. So the show was canceled. Since then the house seems to be haunted."
"And you're telling us that the show took the whole building and moved to Pahkitew island," said Topher raising an eyebrow, mocking the host, "And how did you do that? Carrying the building in a helicopter? Dismantling it and building it here again?"
"I don't have time to explain every single detail to you," replied Chris rolling his eyes, "Anyway the rules for this attraction are simple-"
"Yes, ALL the rules to every attraction are simple. Do you have to repeat that line every single time?" asked Heather glaring at the host.
Chris glared back at her. "I say that because they are SIMPLE. And now STOP interrupting me," he adjusted his top hat and smiled again. "You have to enter the house and try to survive inside until you find the exit. If you pass out, die, or force your way out of the house, you will be eliminated. The first to exit using the official exit wins the challenge.
While the host talked, Logan gave Charlotte and Brick a pair of metal bracelets, identical to those they gave to the e-gamer and Sky in the roller coaster challenge.
"You're giving us the item to read our vital signs again?" asked Charlotte unimpressed.
"I'm glad you have a good memory," replied Chirs nodding, "yes, these are to know if you're still with us or you fainted." He then opened the door with his staff. "Now please come in. There are two ways left and right. Charlotte you choose first."
The e-gamer nodded and entered into the building using the right door, glaring one last time at the cadet before entering.
"Good luck ma'am," said Brick while saluting, oblivious to Charlotte's attitude. He then entered the left side
Charlotte was in a dimly lit hall. There were sets of armor on both sides of the passage. She smiled confidently.
"This is nothing compared to horror games like Evil Guest or Silent Mountain. And with this atmosphere, the only question is if I'll find the exit before Brick quit the game," an evil smirk appeared on the dark-skinned girl.
But suddenly an ax almost fell over her. Charlotte jumped out of the way just in the nick of time, the weapon getting stuck in the ground.
The e-gamer looked at it, cold sweat running down through her neck. "That is a real ax! What was the game designer thinking?" But there was no time to go back, no if she wanted to eliminate Brick.
On the other side Brick was walking to the second floor of the building. He was cowering around the dark place. It wasn't the chance of something wandering in the dark that scared him. It was the darkness itself what made him feel anxious.
"Don't be afraid Brick. It's only an attraction. There is nothing to be scared about," he said under his breath, trying to psych himself up.
Then he heard something behind him, it was the sound of steps, loud and heavy footsteps.
"Charlotte? Is that you?" asked the cadet in a crackling voice.
But the answer was the footsteps advancing quicker in his direction. The footsteps were so heavy that they made the floor tremble.
Brick began to run as fast as he could. He didn't know what that was but he had no desire to find out.
Meanwhile, Charlotte was exploring the dining hall. Her heart was still beating fast after the ax trap.
She advanced in the dark and dusty hall. She could feel the dust and something else sticking to her face.
"What's this?" said Charlotte trying to take the dust from her face realizing it was a cobweb.
The e-gamer then began to panic as she felt a dozen of small spiders climbing her legs.
"AAAHHHH!" Charlotte shouted and ran as fast as she could, entering into the kitchen, hoping to leave the small insects behind.
Brick entered a bedroom and was startled after hearing a scream. He quickly blocked the door with a drawer and looked around the room for something to use as a weapon.
He was panicking in the dark room, only illuminated by the attraction lights that entered through the wooden planks' gaps on the window.
The cadet was damp with sweat and hoped he didn't wet himself. He opened the closet and found what he was looking for. He took the metal rod used to hang the clothes and pull it out. Then he used it to smash the window's planks.
In a few seconds, the room was illuminated by the attraction's light. It was a short distance to the ground. If the cadet wanted, he could just jump to the ground. But before he could make a decision, someone or something began to pound the door.
At the same time Charlotte entered the kitchen, she took a cloth over the table and cleaned her legs of spiders. She winced and stomped on them.
"Low-level mobs, I'll teach you the cost of scaring me," said the e-gamer, still nervous after what happened.
Suddenly she was startled by something falling into the yard. Charlotte went next to the door and tried to look at what that sound was.
But she didn't realize that there was something behind her. When it was closer to her, the e-gamer turned and found a zombie. The chubby undead had green skin, big bags under the eyes, and the white of its eyes was red-colored. The creature was groaning and squinting as it advanced toward her.
Charlotte screamed, kicking the zombie. She tried to open the door, but it was locked. The zombie stood up, and the e-gamer decided to tackle the door, breaking it and escaping the room.
On the second floor, a giant creature of more than 2,10 meters(7 feet) broke into the room. As soon as it entered, it went to watch outside the window. Did the cadet escape the house?
But from behind the bed, Brick ran toward the giant creature and pushed it out of the window. It tried to grab the cadet but only got hold of the iron pole. Falling to the yard. Brick realized the monster was Chef at the last moment.
A voice then came from both bracelets. "Congratulations, the challenge is over!" shouted Chris in an excited tone, "and the winner is Brick. Charlotte went out of the house through the kitchen door when the right door was in the basement."
"What!?" protested the e-gamer, "that's cheating. I just left the stage because you used a jump scare."
The host laughed, "Sorry, but the rules were clear: don't exit the house. Also, I can't believe you got scared by Steve of all people."
The chubby intern went out of the house, cleaned the green paint off his face and put on his glasses. He looked tired. The bags under his eyes and the red eyes remained there. "Mr. McLean, can I go to sleep now?"
Chris shook his head. "What? Of course not. We still have a lot of events to do. Brick got his second victory. Now everyone let's get back to the wheel of fortune."
Brick jumped off the window and fell next to Chef that glared at him.
"Sorry sir, I didn't know it was you," said Brick, saluting.
Chef chuckled, "Save it, soldier. I'm not angry at you. I'm angry at myself because I fell for such an obvious ambush. But even if your knees were trembling, you still pushed me out of the window. Well done."
The big man stood up and returned the salute before he went to change his clothes again while Brick went back with the other contestants.
Confessional: Charlotte
The E-gamer was frowning at the camera with her arms folded. "I can't believe it. That was a glitch! If we weren't supposed to go out from the kitchen, the kitchen's door should be sturdier. Whoever designed this scenario hated the players."
Confessional: Brick
"This was a hard and distressing challenge. Luckily it's already over, and look, I didn't wet my pants," said the cadet showing his camouflage pants proudly. "I was probably too scared to pee myself, but a victory is a victory."
The show continued after Chef got changed into his Mardi Gras dress. He kept spinning the wheel of fortune, and more contenders showed in it and played on the Drama Carnival.
For Round 9, Topher was against Courtney, and the challenge was the drop tower, trying to use Courtney's fear of heights. The gigantic tower let them fall from different heights and had a moat to submerge them. At the end the former CIT won even if both ended gasping after many plunges in the cold water.
Round 10 was Duncan vs. Mike. The delinquent chose the shooting gallery, where both have to try to shoot many targets. Every one of them had a nasty surprise for you or your opponent. After 11 rounds of nasty surprises, the delinquent won the duel because his shorter height helped him aim for the lower targets.
Chris looked at the beaten and tired contestants with a big grin on his face, "There are still 4 of you in the game, and all have 2 wins, so 2 of you will get that sweet immunity. Let's see who is favored by lady luck. Chef, please do your job."
"This isn't my job. You will have to pay me a lot for this. Oh, you will pay, " said Chef under his breath, as he spun the wheel of fortune again, falling in the image of Duncan.
"It seems lady luck loves our dastardly criminal, so who will you choose?" Asked the host, looking intently at the remaining challengers, "will it be your former teammate Brick? Your crashing companion Samey? Or your old flame Courtney?"
Duncan watched at each of the contestants that remained in the competition and smirked. "I chose the cheerleader, and the challenge will be the Ferris wheel."
"Bring it on," said Sammy, gulping. She knew she was the weakest link among the four. She thought Duncan was kind of a friend to her, so his decision was a painful realization that he didn't think the same.
Round 11 – Ferris Wheel
The Ferris wheel is a classic of all the fairs. It's a rotating upright wheel that has multiple passenger cars attached to the wheel's rim. As it turns, the cars are lifted, keeping the upright position so the passengers can remain seated inside it.
The Drama Carnival version was a gigantic wheel called the 1000 feet wheel. It was the tallest attraction in the fair. (but it wasn't 100 feet tall)
"Welcome, and please board the car. The 1000 feet wheel is about to start," said Chris, opening the door of the passenger's car with his cane.
"You'll not tell us what the challenge is about?" asked Sammy, looking at the attraction with wide eyes.
Chris chuckled and winked with his painted eye. "That is a surprise, but believe me, you'll find out soon."
"Whatever. C'mon cheerleader, we have a date," said Duncan entering the car.
"Ugh! IT'S NOT A DATE," replied Sammy blushing and throwing her fists down and following her former teammate.
Once both were inside the attraction, it started, lifting them slowly. Courtney, Topher, Amy, and Brick watched them with special interest.
"Do you think Chris will begin to speed up this until one of us gives up?" asked Sammy, looking nervous out of the window.
Duncan smirked and leaned toward her, "what happened cheerleader? Are you afraid of a little speed?"
"Of course not, but you know it won't be a little speed," replied Sammy, folding her arms. Why does he always have to be like that?
"The roller coaster challenge was already a speed endurance battle. I doubt Chris will repeat challenges. After all, he wants to make an 'entertaining show.'" Duncan made air quotes when he mentioned the last part.
Sammy nodded, putting a hand below her chin, "You're right. But with that man you never know."
The delinquent stood up and sat next to her, "We'll find out soon, so there is no use in getting worried about it."
"Hey! you're too close!" protested the younger twin. The cabins didn't have a lot of space. She couldn´t stretch her arm without touching him.
But he ignored her, his smirk disappearing from his face. Then he came closer to her.
The Ferris still took some moments to reach the wheel's tallest point, and then it stopped. The door of the car opened automatically.
Chris talked through a purple megaphone. "Your attention, please. You're ready to take on the challenge. It's quite easy. You just have to jump from the Ferris well into this pool of water. As you can see, the pool has score points across it from 5 to 300. The further away from the wheel, the more points you get."
Chris walked to the further point of the pool. "So you just have to jump, and the contender with more points wins! In case of a tie, you have to jump again." The host chuckled and looked at the passenger car again. "The challenge starts NOW!"
"Ladies first," said Duncan walking away from the door and giving Sammy enough space.
She ignored him and took a deep breath. "See you down there."
The younger twin ran across the small car and jumped with all her strength, not looking at the pool to avoid vertigo. It was a great jump, she tried to change into a dive, but it was too late. She made a belly flop in the 300 points, all the witnesses wincing in pain.
"Ouch! But not bad. Can our resident delinquent jump as far as her? I really hope so, or he'll lose the challenge," said Chris laughing.
Duncan looked down, smirked, and ran across the car, jumping at the end. But he did it too early, falling in the 100 points zone.
"WHAT THE HELL MAN?" said Duncan while going out of the water, "those small coffins don't have enough room to make the jump."
Chris was taken aback by Duncan's sudden burst, but he recovered his composure after a moment. "Don't make excuses, Samey could do it, and you failed. So it's game over! Samey wins the first immunity!"
Shawn and Sky hugged Sammy as her sister glared at them. Courtney and Cody looked at the delinquent without saying a word.
Confessional: Duncan
The delinquent was smirking at the camera, running his hand across his mohawk. "What can I say? Sometimes you win, and sometimes you lose."
Confessional: Sammy
"Ok, I won immunity, so at least I'm in the best 13th. Now, if we can just get Amy out of the competition, this will be a perfect day," said Sammy fist-pumping, "I just hope I'll not regret my decision."
"Congratulations Samey, you won the first immunity," announced Chris with a mocking smile. Both twins glared at him. Amy was angry because she can't vote for her sister tonight, and Sammy because he called her Samey.
But the host simply ignored them and continued with the show. "Now there are only 2 campers left, Courtney the only person with Counselor training in the history of the show, and our sensitive fashion-cadet Brick. Now the wheel of fortune will only decide who chooses the challenge. Chef, spin that babe one last time."
Both Courtney and Brick also glared at the host. Chris has the talent to always use the worst choice of words when talking about the contestants.
Chef smirked and spun the wheel. Only two panels remained illuminated. He spun it with all his strength, so the wheel began with a lot of speed: Brick, Courtney, Brick, Courtney, their changes alternating until it stopped.
"Congratulations Brick! You get to choose the challenge. Go for it cadet," said Chirs mocking a salute.
"Yes sir," said the cadet saluting honestly, "in fact, I already have chosen the challenge."
Round 12 – Carousel
One of the oldest fair attractions, also called merry-go-round, is an attraction that consists of a circular rotating platform with seats moving along the platform. These seats are traditionally in the form of wooden horses, but there are a lot of variants.
"Carousel? Really?" asked Courtney, raising an eyebrow at the cadet.
He just blushed and rubbed his neck, "As a child, I really liked this ride. And probably all the others are equally dangerous, so why not try one that at least I'm familiar with. You don´t like it?"
"I don't hate it. But I've never ridden on it," said Courtney, shrugging.
"You've never ridden a merry-go-round?" asked Brick with wide eyes.
Courtney chuckled, "I never went to fairgrounds or carnivals. It was just a waste of time, according to my mother."
Brick never talked a lot with Courtney. Especially after the quarry challenge and Zoey's elimination. But at that moment, he thought about how little he knew about his now former teammate.
But Chris interrupted them, "Ladies and Gentleman, this is the last challenge of the night, the carousel. The rules are simple, the last one standing is the winner and gets the immunity. Just try to not die."
Brick and Courtney looked at each other and made a small smile. This will be a wild ride.
"Ready? The challenge starts NOW!" said Chris in a loud voice, starting the machine with his cane.
An organ melody started playing as the circular platform began to move. Both Brick and Courtney walking along the line at first, avoiding the horses easily.
"I thought it would be harder than this," commented Brick side-stepping and avoiding a horse.
Courtney looked at him, frowning, "never say that in this show!"
And as if the carousel heard them, it began to speed up. The horses moved along the platform in random paths, making them harder to avoid.
Brick just let one pass and felt a sting in his cheek. He rubbed it, and it hurt him.
"A cut?" he said, realizing that some horses now had blades attached to their bodies.
Courtney jumped out of the way of a horse as it began to throw fire, "Surprised? Chris is the one that built this challenge."
"I hoped he at least respected this one," said Brick, crouching and avoiding a horse.
"That man doesn't respect his own mother," said Courtney stepping on a horse head and avoiding it.
Chris frowned, "Hey that hurt me, and when I'm hurt, I do things like this…" the host then pulled the speed lever of the carousel from 5 to Max.
Both contestants began to try to run as fast as possible while avoiding the horses, but it was like a treadmill. It was an endurance test between two of the fittest campers in the competition.
But even they had a limit, and this time it came in the form of two horses going against Courtney at the same time. There was no way for the former CIT to avoid them. So she jumped as far as she could and braced for the impact. But suddenly someone pulled her out of the way.
She opened her eyes and saw Brick, covering her head while avoiding another fire-throwing horse.
"Why did you save me? If you let them hit me, you would have won!" asked Courtney in a distressed tone.
Brick just smiled, "Maybe, but it's against my code to let a friend get hurt."
Courtney looked at him with a distressed expression and shook her head, "But this is a competition! You'll never win with that attitude."
"Maybe you're right," said Brick, huffing, "but there are things more important than winning."
The Latin girl kept silent and then jumped out of the carousel. "I give up. Brick wins this one."
Chef stopped the machine as Chris looked at her shocked, "Why? You can keep going. Did you, COURTNEY, really give up?"
She sighed, "say what you want, but I could keep going because Brick saved me. Logically, he gets the win."
She didn't look back at Brick or Chris, leaving the fairgrounds with a serious expression.
"Then we have our second winner. Brick and Sammy get the immunity. The rest of you, let's meet at 8:00 pm at the campfire for the first merge elimination. This was the Drama carnival. I hope you enjoy it and until next time." Chris bowed at the camera as the image faded in black.
Confessional: Courtney
The hair of the former CIT was covering her eyes while she folded her arms. "There are things more important than win? Don't make me laugh. Winning is everything. The winner gets the glory, the fame, the friends. The loser gets nothing. Brick only saved me because he knew I'll forfeit after that."
Confessional: Brick
"I never talked a lot with Courtney. After all she and Heather are friends, and that means they're Alejandro's enemies. But right now I think that maybe I should talk with her more. She seems to have quite a harsh past, and maybe she needs someone who listens to her. And Brick McArthur is the best listener in this unit." He said, saluting at the camera with a proud smile.
In the cave that used to be the Waneyihtam Maskwak home, Sky and Shawn were waiting for Sammy to talk about tonight's elimination.
"I can't believe I lost against a government drone," said Shawn shaking his head.
"What's done is done, so stop blaming yourself. Right now, we should focus on tonight's eliminations," said Sky, putting a hand on his shoulder.
Shawn nodded, "You're right, but there is no use to talk about it without Sammy."
"Sorry I'm late!" said Sammy while entering the cave. Both Sky and Shawn looked at her.
Sky smiled and waved at her, "don´t worry Sammy we j-" but the Cree girl stopped when she realized that Sammy wasn't alone.
Walking next to Sammy was Heather, looking with a small smile at Shawn and Sky.
There was an awkward silence in the room. Sammy tried to fix it as fast as possible.
"Shawn, Sky, she's Heather. She helped me a lot during the team swap, and she said she wanted to help me to take care of Amy," said the younger twin with a small smile, "Heather, they're Shawn and Sky, some of my best friends."
Heather bowed politely, "We already met in the past challenges. And even if we had our differences, any friend of Samantha is also my friend."
"Oh, yes of course. Any friend of Sammy is also our friend," said Sky, standing up and shaking hands with the Queen Bee.
The conspiranoic frowned and nodded silently, his eyes locked on the Asian girl.
"So tonight Samantha and Brick won immunity, so it's a good chance to get Samantha's sister out of the game," said Heather tossing her braid.
Sky rubbed her chin with a thoughtful expression, "I don't like to vote in group or form alliances, but I was also planning to vote for Amy. So do we have enough votes?"
"We're 14, we need at least another 4 votes to assure her going home," said Shawn frowning, "If we do this recklessly, we'll end making the same mistake we did with Jasmine."
"If you don't like Amy, we can vote for anyone else. But remember we´re in the merge. Right now, the blunders don´t count. We need to just eliminate the more dangerous opponents before they eliminate us," said Heather glaring at the conspiranoic.
Sammy looked at Heather and then at Shawn, "I agree with Heather. We need to try to use this chance to vote her off. I'll try to convince more people."
"I'll also try my best to get us those 4 votes. Good luck to everyone, and a pleasure to meet you again," said Heather making a beautiful smile that contrasted with her icy stare.
As soon as she and Sammy went out of the cave, Shawn stood up and glared at the cave entrance, "I don't like this."
"What you don't like?" asked Sky, tilting her head.
But Shawn didn't answer, just went out of the cave.
Confessional: Shawn
The conspiranoic was folding his arms with a thoughtful expression. "If life and zombie movies had taught me something, it's that if something seems too good to be true, usually isn't true. I don´t understand why Heather is helping us to get rid of Amy. Maybe I should also try to get some votes. Just in case."
Mike walked into the forest, just where Amy told him he would find a cabin on a tree. She asked him to come to talk about tonight's elimination, but what he found inside it wasn't what he was expecting.
"Welcome amigo mío. We were waiting for you."
Mike was surprised. Inside the room were Amy and Lilly, who he was expecting, but also Alejandro and Brick.
"Good evening," said Mike smiling sheepishly. "I didn't expect to meet you here Al, Brick."
The Spaniard winced a little but kept the smile on his face. "Please call me Alejandro. Yes, I had a small conversation with your beautiful friend, and she agreed to hear our proposition."
"Our?" exclaimed Brick, raising an eyebrow. Alejandro didn't talk about this with him before.
"Yes our," said Alejandro as if that was also planned, "after all we're now in the merge. But we need strength in numbers so we can advance to the final."
"And you're proposing an alliance? Just like that? Why should we trust you?" asked Amy glaring at the Spaniard.
Alejandro stood up and made a small but charming smile. "There are many reasons. First, because your sister and my ex-girlfriend seem to have a strong friendship. Which means they're going against us."
Mike, Amy, and Lilly look at each other. It wasn't a secret that Sammy was around the Queen Bee a lot after the team switch.
"Alejandro, you aren´t exactly a trustful person. How can we know you're honest?" asked Mike, glaring at him. After all, the guy with spiky hair was blackmailed by Al in the past, and even if Cameron and Beth said he changed, Mike still had some doubts.
"I know I did some underhanded things in the past, and I'm sorry," said Alejandro lowering his head, ashamed. "But think about it. Right now, our enemies are acting together. It's not better to join forces at least until they are out of the game?"
Amy narrowed her eyes at him, and then she looked at Brick. "We're not really an alliance, we're just friends, so I can't talk for Mike and Lilly. But I'm in. After all, Sammy wants me out of the game."
"What? Wait a minute Amy," said Mike looking surprised at the older twin, and then turned to Alejandro, "Can you give us a moment alone?"
"Of course," replied Alejandro, making a wonderful smile that made Lilly blush, "c´mon Brick."
Brick and Alejandro went down the stairs, the cadet frowning worried.
"Alejandro, what is this?" asked Brick as soon as they were on the ground.
"I'm sorry mi amigo," said Alejandro rubbing his neck. "As soon as I realized that mi amor and Amy's sister were in an alliance, I thought it was better to take measures to protect us."
The cadet folded his arms, "but you could at least tell me beforehand."
"Do you hate Amy?" asked Alejandro with wide eyes.
"Eh? No, of course not," replied Brick blushing, "I think she sometimes treats Sammy unfairly, but deep down she's a good person."
Alejandro put his arm across Brick's shoulder, "exactly! And we can't leave them alone, can we? You may not care because you won that immunity, but the rest of us need to get votes to warrant our place in the competition."
"What did you say? Alejandro, of course I care about you and the rest! I mean, we're friends. It's just that …" Brick hesitated to complete the sentence.
"It's just that what? Sorry Brick, I choose my words poorly, certainly you care about us. Then why are you doubting?" asked the Spaniard, hugging Brick tighter.
The cadet turned his face, "it's just that I also care for Sammy and the others. I think it's unfair to take a side."
"My friend, you say that because you've never reached a merge," said Alejandro with watery eyes, "but you can´t stand in the middle. Now is everyone for themselves, and you need to take a side. Even if you chose Heather, I wouldn't judge you."
"No Alejandro, I didn't mean it like that," said Brick. He has his doubts about the Spaniard but never meant to betray him. "Ok, you win. I'll vote with you tonight. But only tonight."
"Really!" said Alejandro hugging him with both arms, "Gracias amigo, we'll go to the best two together."
Brick nodded, blushing at the display of affection, "No problem soldier. But there are a couple of things that I wanted to ask you."
"Ask my friend that I'll answer them the best I can," replied Alejandro, releasing Brick and smacking his own chest.
"Why didn't you call Duncan? I thought he was one of our friends," said the cadet. He knew that Duncan was against the Spaniard but was curious about his reasons.
Alejandro shook his head, "I told him, but he seems to be on Heather's side. Such a shame, I consider him my friend."
"Of course," said Brick scratching his head, but he tried to keep his composure, "and another question, what will we do if they don't accept the alliance?".
"Don´t worry about that. They will accept," said Alejandro, smirking, the cadet looking at him raising an eyebrow.
And even if Brick wasn't sure, Alejandro was right. At the same time, the discussion in the treehouse was following Alejandro's script.
"We can't trust him Amy." said Mike pointing at the room door. "He's one of the most cunning schemers in the show's history."
"But maybe he changed," said Lilly, twiddling her fingers, "Beth said he was a new person. And so far, he seems to be playing fairly."
Mike looked at her with wide eyes, "Fairly? He cheated on the tiebreaker to eliminate Zoey!"
"Even then, he's right about us needing more allies," said Amy with an arrogant expression, "and even if he's a snake, Brick is trustworthy. So even if it's risky, it's the best idea."
"I don't like it. What about trying to ally ourselves with Charlotte or Topher?" asked the guy with spiky hair, trying to found an alternative to Alejandro.
The older twin looked at Lilly, who sighed sadly and began to talk. "We try to get Charlotte into our alliance, but it seems she wants to eliminate those who voted for Jasmine, including Amy and me," said Lilly in a sad tone.
"And we couldn't find Topher. So right now Eviljandro is our only alternative," added the older twin, shrugging.
"And the foxes? Maybe Duncan, Courtney, or Cody would help us?" asked Mike, Zoey praised Duncan a lot, and Courtney and Cody seemed like nice people.
"Cody!" exclaimed Lilly blushing, "Oh please, Amy, we need to try to make an alliance with him!
Amy rolled her eyes, "Even if they ally with us, it's already too late. We don't have time. So it's better to at least vote in this one with them and decide what to do in the next elimination."
"Ok, but for the next elimination, let me try to get more trusty allies," said Mike, looking fiercely at the older twin.
"Of course, Mike," said Amy hugging him. "Sorry about this, but it's only for this time."
Mike blushed. At that moment, he knew he needed to foil Alejandro's plans, not only for him but also for Amy.
Then they called Brick and Alejandro, the five of them agreed to vote together in tonight's elimination.
Confessional: Brick
The cadet was frowning at the camera. "Duncan with Heather? Impossible, especially after Zoey's elimination. Does Alejandro really believe that? Or is he trying to fool me? It seems I need to talk again with my favorite punk," Said Brick in a snarky tone, unusual in him.
On the picnic tables behind the cabins, two former foxes were waiting.
"I was really surprised that you came back. I didn't believe you'll be one of the returnees," said Courtney, smiling at the brunette boy.
"Hehehe, you seem to underestimate the Codemesiter," he said, making finger guns at her, "but to be honest, I was also surprised. I need to thank all the fans out there for their support."
Courtney nodded, "And also, your performance as a clown was incredible. You're a natural."
"Thanks a lot, It's a pleasure to bring smiles to both young and old," said Cody making an exaggerated bow.
"Hehehe, I'm sorry, I was just messing with you," chuckled Courtney, not expecting that reaction, "but nice comeback, I thought you would get angry."
The brunette guy made a big smile that showed the gap between his teeth, "Angry? I get a second chance to get a million dollars. There is no way I can get angry today." He then made a small pause, lowering his eyebrows, "well, except if I'm eliminated tonight, that would be really disappointing."
Both laughed, but a third person replied before Cody got his chance.
"Don´t worry about it. You're safe tonight," said the third person, walking toward the tables.
"Heather, you're late," the Latin girl narrowing her eyes at the Queen Bee.
But Heather ignored her and ran toward Cody, hugging him. "Welcome back! I really miss you, scarecrow."
"Er, uhm, yes Heather, I'm also glad to be here," said Cody blushing, Heather's skin was smooth, and she had a discreet citrus chypre scent.
She then sat in front of them, "so tonight is the first merge elimination. Doesn't it bring back memories of our time on the World Tour?"
"Did you really have to mention that?" asked Courtney glaring daggers at the Asian girl.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to offend you," replied Heather, smirking. "That time we weren't on the best terms."
The Latin girl folded her arms, "I was in a very bad moment. Cody was obsessed with Sierra and you with Blaineley. It was a disaster of first elimination.
"And somehow it was poor Owen who was the one that was eliminated," said Cody, making a sad smile. "I voted for Sierra, and I know Heather also voted for her. Did you vote for Owen, Courtney?"
"No, I vote for Heather," said Courtney, frowning, "I was still angry because she was on Gwen's side, and she was against Alejandro. Looking back, I was pretty stupid, wanting to make Duncan jealous after the cheating and break up."
Heather chuckled, "all that is water under the bridge. And if you want to know, I voted for Owen."
"Eeeehhhh?" exclaimed Cody, Courtney also looking at her with wide eyes, "Why? I mean, you had a feud against Blaineley and Alejandro. Why vote Owen if it was what he wanted?"
"Cody, don´t be naïve, because it would give me an advantage. Owen was allied with both Blaineley and Alejandro. If they wanted to get rid of him, why not help them?" Heather made a devilish smile, looking at both Cody and Courtney, "to win you must forget about personal feelings and vote for the right target."
Courtney looked at both, but before she could talk, Cody was already replying, "I don't agree. That may be the smart way to play it, but you're also falling in the hands of your opponent."
"Maybe you're right. But what's done is done." Heather shrugged. "And right now, there are more important matters we need to talk about."
"Tonight's elimination, right?" said Courtney, sounding harsher than she intended.
But Heather either didn't care or didn't notice it. "That's true, we're thinking of voting tonight for Amanda, Samantha's sister."
"What!?" shouted Cody, frowning, "didn't we agree that Alejandro was our main target? That we were voting for him until he's eliminated?"
"So we're again sparing Alejandro? I agree with Cody. That wasn't what we agreed," said Courtney, but she already suspected the Queen Bee would say something like this.
Heather sighed and then tossed her braid, "Ple-e-ease, right now we need a strong group, and if Samantha and her friends want to eliminate the older twin, I think we must help them."
"But that will give that snake time to strengthen his position in the game!" said Cody, in an unusual display of anger.
"Then you can vote for him! But we already have 4 votes against Amanda. With yours, we'll be 6," said Heather, looking fiercely at Cody's eyes, "but if you want to vote for Alejandro, I'll vote with you."
There was a small silence among the three. "Ok, we'll vote with you," said Cody, rubbing his neck.
"Awesome, I'll go and tell Samantha about it, let's talk some more later," said the Queen Bee, standing up and walking away.
Courtney raised an eyebrow, "how weird that you get so passionate about Alejandro."
"Hehehe, was that obvious? I just wanted to look at her reaction, but it didn't seem she was protecting him," explained the brunette guy.
The Latin girl looked at Cody with a thoughtful expression. But didn't said anything after that.
Confessional: Courtney
"Maybe it's my imagination. But there was something weird about this whole situation. In a moment, Heather turned the tables, and now the decision of not voting Alejandro was of Cody and me. I don't like this, but voting Alejandro right now would be useless. I'll go with the flow, at least in tonight's elimination," said Courtney putting a hand under her chin.
On the pier, Duncan was writing in a small notebook. It was just after the sunset, and there was less than one hour for the elimination ceremony.
He then heard some steps behind him, he didn't turn. By now he already knew those heavy steps.
"Good evening G.I. Joe. Congratulations on your Immunity," said Duncan, closing his notebook and turning to meet his visitor.
"Good evening, soldier, but I need to insist, stop calling me that name," said Brick, saluting but lowering his eyebrow.
Duncan smirked, "I say it as a pet name, but if you like the name your mother gave you, I can make a compromise."
"You remember that," said Brick blushing, he thought that Duncan was the type to forget those kinds of details in 10 minutes. "If you can, I would be grateful."
"But I don't think that's the reason you came here, so tell me. What can I do for you?" asked Duncan, wiggling his eyebrows.
The delinquent as usual went right to the point. Brick didn't dislike that about him. "I wanted to ask you about tonight's elimination."
"Really? I'm kind of surprised. I didn't expect that of all people you would be the one to look for me," said the delinquent, looking with wide eyes at the cadet.
"Didn't you talk with Heather or Alejandro?" asked Brick, tilting his head.
The delinquent chuckled, "I'm not on good terms with that lovely lady, and Ale-hunk-dro has ignored me since the end of the challenge. So I'm right now deciding who to vote."
"That's weird," said Brick. Looking at the ground with a thoughtful expression, "then who're you gonna vote tonight?"
"I'm still deciding, maybe the wicked older twin. And you?" replied Duncan. He wasn't really sure who was the right option.
The cadet looked at him with wide eyes, "Amy? Why? There are a lot of more dangerous opponents. Like Shawn."
"The stoner? Yes, he's great at physical challenges, and I'm not sure if I can beat him in a one-on-one challenge," Brick had the right idea.
But then Duncan realized something, something dreadful. If he was right then, he might have been fooled during the entire season.
"Brick, did you decide to vote for the stoner because you're in an alliance with Amy!?" asked Duncan, standing up in a moment.
The cadet couldn't tell him the truth, so he just tried his best to lie, "W-what? No! No, of course, no, Alejandro and I wouldn't make an alliance with her to vote Shawn out. It was just an idea I had because he's a pretty good opponent. Please don´t think too deep about it."
"You're right Brick," replied Duncan, patting Brick on the arm. "You're right. It was a silly idea."
Brick huffed, making a wide smile. Little he knew that the delinquent wasn't honest.
Confessional: Duncan
"I can't believe it! But after talking with G.I. Joe, I just realized what is happening," said Duncan smirking at the camera, "And if I'm right, maybe we can use it to our advantage."
On the campfire, the 14 contestants were waiting for the host to start the elimination ceremony. There was a heavy atmosphere. Amy glaring at Sammy, and Sammy at her Sister. Heather and Cody at Alejandro that was leaning absentmindedly on the trunk stump. Duncan was sitting in the last row, observing the remaining contestants.
Chris was standing in front of them, enjoying the atmosphere. On his hand, he had a plate with 13 marshmallows. "Welcome campers, this is the first merge elimination ceremony of the season. I confess I'm surprised. I didn't believe any of you would get the immunity in the challenge."
"Can you stop the small talk and get into the business? It's been a long day" said Heather rolling her eyes.
"hehehe, it seems like someone without immunity is getting nervous, so sad. I expected you as a favorite to have more composure," said Chris chuckling.
"But you're right, we're under a schedule. I have 13 marshmallows here. These treaties are your lifeline. The one that doesn't get one of these tonight will put the vest of failure, board the chopper of shame and get a one-way ticket out the island, FOREVER." The host then winked at the brunette boy, "Charlotte and Cody this time I mean it."
The E-gamer shook her head. "Your forevers are more unreliable than top games' release dates."
"Yes, I know," said Chris, who actually didn't understand what she was saying, "Now go and vote. I'm eager to announce who is going out tonight."
No more foxes or ferrets. The 14 remaining contestants went to the voting cabin to choose tonight's elimination.
Vote confessional: Topher
"I talked with Mike, and honestly, I'm not sure who to vote for tonight. But I also don't want to betray Sammy, so I will probably vote for someone else." Said the host wannabe while voting.
Vote confessional: Mike
"I'm not good at this. The only time I voted on a merge, it was quite easy. Now almost everyone's a friend or a friend of a friend. But in the end only one can win. Sorry." said Mike, pressing the button on his pad, his face with a conflicted expression.
Vote confessional: Charlotte
"With my main target out of range. I would need to focus my gameplay on my next opponent. Maybe it's a bad play, but right now, the rules are changing, so it's the moment to make daring moves," said the e-gamer pressing the image on her pad.
"This elimination was close. I feared that after the merge we would lose the excitement of the elimination. But I'm glad to see I was mistaken," said Chris chuckling. "So let's get started."
"Brick, Samey, Heather, Courtney, Charlotte, and Topher. You're safe." The host picked a handful of marshmallows and began to throw them to the contestants, all catching them.
Chris then threw more marshmallows to the rest of the campers. "I also have some for Lilly, Sky, Mike, Duncan, Cody, and Alejandro." They also caught the treats. Cody seemed especially happy with the result.
"And there is only one marshmallow in my plate and 2 campers. Amy, your bossy attitude and feud with Samey created many enemies. And Shawn, your strange theories don't win you many friends, nor does being the last season's winner," said Chris, enjoying the heavy atmosphere.
Amy clenched her teeth but didn't say anything. Shawn folded his arms tapping his foot while looking at the host.
"So tonight the final marshmallow is for . . ."

"Amy."
Amy, Alejandro, Mike, and Lilly smiled. While Samey, Sky, Courtney, and Cody were shocked. Shawn and Duncan were unusually calm.
"That's impossible," shouted Heather standing up and pointing angrily at the host.
Chris shook his head, "There is no mistake. Remember that DAM is auditing the voting. So Shawn, if you please."
The conspiranoic scratched his head and stood up, "Darn it, I think I could be the first double winner. I needed that second million."
Sammy ran and hugged him, "Shawn! It's so unfair."
"Don´t worry, now it's your turn, you have to beat your sister and win the game. Jass and I'll be watching over you." Said Shawn patting her head.
"This friendship is so beautiful, but remember that we're under schedule," said Chris patting his wrist. "So Shawn, come with me to the pier. Your Vest of Failure is waiting for you."
Shawn walked to the pier, followed by Heather, Sky, and Sammy. He examined the vest before putting it.
"It was a short time, but it was a pleasure to meet you," said Heather showing a small smile.
The conspiranoic returned the smile. "It's cool, glad to meet you. I just hope you also mean it."
Heather was taken aback by the comment but made an effort to keep smiling. The hobo was smarter than he seemed.
"Thanks for everything." Said Sky hugging him.
"Yes. Now it's up to you and Sammy to win this game." He then turned to face Sammy, "you hear me. I hope you are in the final two of the competition."
Sammy was about to say something, but then the chopper took Shawn away. The conspiranoic seemed ready, holding the rope after it hooked him and going away with the chopper.
Heather hugged Sammy and patted her back before Sky could do it. The rest of the campers slowly return to their cabins.
"And with this, we reach the merge, but the season continues." Said Chris facing the camera. "What will happen with Heather's alliance now that they lose Shawn? Did Cody and Courtney still trust her? What will happen with the Alejandro/Amy alliance? And why is Duncan acting so suspicious? Find the answer for all of them in the next episode of Total Drama, Tyranny of the Masses."
Author Notes:
And the first episode after the merge is done. What will happen next? What did Duncan find out after talking with Brick? Does Cody fully trusts Heather? And which Twin will win the bet? This and more answers in the next episode of Total Drama Tyranny of the masses.
And sadly, Shawn went away. I really enjoy the Zombie expert, and I loved to make him also a conspiranoic, but someone had to go. I hope you enjoy his antics as much as I enjoyed writing them. Also there is a lot of lies and schemes going on. I wonder how many you find out.
