After a night of wild sex and filling meals, Zephyr rounded up his minions and the elven rangers, heading back into the under roads to finish his conquest. When he arrived at Hammerstone city, the dwarves offered no resistance, even opening the gate for him.
"Keep an eye out if this is a trap." Zephyr ordered his troops as he entered the city. they were then greeted by the clan's elders, who did not look at all happy to see him.
"So you're the bloodthirsty psychopath that has been butchering and enslaving our people?"
"Of course the elves would be involved with this! Filthy knife-eared cunts, all of ya!"
"We are here to surrender but ask that a meeting be held in neutral territory to discuss the terms." The elders said they looked like they were just as ready to kill as they were to talk.
"First, indeed I am. Overlord Zephyr, but you may call me sire or master. Second, The elves of Evernight are my loyal vassals, and as such, accompany me to war whenever I see fit. And lastly, what could we possibly discuss? I have won. Your armies have been crushed, and your population has been decimated. What could you offer me that I could not simply take outright?"
"Relics of your predecessors." One of the elders said as an object that looked like one of the health ones he had collected, but shorter, almost squat.
"And you have a stalk pile of these relics, do you?"
"Yes, we have been studying them, seeing if we could recreate them ourselves. And if you agree to talks, we will give all of them to you. Refuse, and we will destroy them! Sure, you probably could kill us all and take them, but how many of them would we smash to powder before then?"
"You have made your point. Where will the talks be held?" The dwarves gave depraved toothy grins. The only reason Zephyr did not chop them off with his ax was for the relics.
"At the farthest most northern edges of our mountain range is a tiny village called Blossom Hollow. The humans there are friendly enough and do not belong to either of our factions."
"Fine, give me its location, and my delegation will meet you there." Zephyr then left with the location and the date of the meeting. The elves grumbled about not getting to kill more dwarves, but all it took was the back of Zephyr's had to get them to shut up.
...
Zephyr had the meeting spot searched by green minion infiltrators well before the meeting took place. As he suspected, the dwarves had a plan if the negotiations turned south, bombs placed throughout the town, ready to be set off and kill everyone. He was almost impressed by it. Zephyr arrived with no minion support; he wanted the dwarves to feel safe. But his succubi honor guard, minus Impella, did flank him. He also brought the chapter masters of the black dragon orders that helped him with the campaign and queen Luna of Evernight. They met the elders of the last remaining dwarven clans, Hammerstone and Flintlock, respectively.
"What is that elven bitch doing here?!" One of the elders screeched as Zephyr and company walked into the tavern to discuss the dwarven surrender.
"Queen Luna has grievances to discuss with you runts, now what do you expect to get out of all this?" Zephyr asked as he sat down at the table.
"That your forces withdraw from our lands and return our stolen treasure. In exchange, we will swear out allegiance to you, overlord Zephyr. as well as surrender the relics to you." The overlord in question then began to laugh hard at what he was hearing. This clearly angered the dwarven elders.
"What's so funny!? You think tha-"
"I don't think any of you elderly fucks did any thinking before coming here. Now shut up and hear what you're going to get! The two dwarven cities that my undead force has taken may be returned to you, but we are keeping the other two. The one conquered by my knights connects to my Ruborian territories. I will not have a divided empire. And the Illirium forests that I know you captured will be turned over to the kingdom of Evernight and any elven slaves you currently have as well."
"Are you forgetting about the relics? We are willing to destroy them if you are not willing to part with more than that. As for the elven land, we gave it to our trade partners in Greenvale, so that is off the table."
"WHAT!?" Luna looked absolutely lived, her rage manifesting as a darkness enveloping the room.
"You're telling me that you gave sacred elven lands to human farmers to grow wheat for your repulsive beer!?" The queen screamed, her rage bearly contained.
"No... We gave it to halflings." The look on the elder's face as he said that was more than enough to send Luna into a frenzy. Her skin turned ghostly white, her eyes turned black, and the cold touch of winter began to envelop the room.
"Neat magic trick, bitch. Tell your pet elf to simmer down if you want these talks to continue." Zephyr simply sat there, looking the dwarven elders dead in the eyes as frost began to form on their aged bodies.
"Stop this! If we die, then the relics are lost to you forever!"
"I think you underestimate me. My minions already infiltrated your city and are in position to assassinate everyone who is a threat to my relics. And besides, I'm not the one killing you. She is. If you want your lives and the lives of your people to be spared, ask her, beg her." The dwarven elders looked like they were ready to accept death before begging at the feet of an elf, but maybe it was the fact that it was not just their lives on the line that broke them.
"Please, elf, spare us!"
"Have mercy, we are old and weak!"
"Do not doom our people for our mistakes! Please!"
"I imagine your soldiers heard similar pleas for mercy from my people when they invaded my home. Your kind does not deserve mercy, and I will smile on the day when the dwarven race has gasped its last." Luna said in a calm, cold manner. But then the freezing cold left the room as fast as it came, and Luna returned to her, not as pale complexion.
"But it will not be by my hand that you vermin are put down. Because unlike you little hairy freaks, my kind is merciful. Prey to the mother goddess that our overlord is just as kind." Luna then turned and left the room, leaving the elders gasping and wide-eyed with terror.
"My, my, she is one for theatrics, is she not? So here is what I'm willing to do. If you give me the relics and take the territory that I am ready to part with, I will give you back most of the tools we took from the conquered cities. But I think you need to be shown your place in the new world order. When you are ready to crown a new king, I will be the one to crown him, to symbolically show that I am the one giving you the right to even have a king at all. Hell, act now, and I will just flat out give you all the surface territory I took, minus the lands above the brewery city, of course." The clan leaders looked to one another. The all-to-familiar defeated look that Zephyr had grown accustomed to seeing on the faces of his enemies was clear to see.
"Fine, we surrender the relics, and our freedom, to you. The Golden Hills belong to the overlord now."
"Good, have the relics delivered to me today. Remember, my minions are already there. We already know exactly how many relics there are and in what condition they are in. Luna might not have the nerve to wipe out the dwarven people for revenge, but I would! GOT IT!?"
"Yes... Sire..."
"Fantastic, now if you'll excuse me." Zephyr then got up and left, his knights and honor guard following him out. He spotted Luna. She was looking into a fountain, deep in thought.
"You guys have your fun conquering this village. I need a moment alone with the queen." To the sounds of death and destruction raging all around him, Zephyr walked over to where Luna was standing. The air around her was cold, misting even.
"I would have let you do it, you know. Hell, after they give me the relics, I don't give a flying fuck if you massacre the lot of them. Just as long as the territory is still usable after."
"Thank you, sire. But after being witness to my own people's genocide, I'm unsure if I am capable of doing the same to another, even against my people's murderers."
"Suit yourself. After getting my hands on the relics, I'm going to Greenvale. Do you want to come? It might be cathartic to be the one to retake your people's territory with your own hands."
"I will... Consider your offer."
"You do that." Zephyr then walked off, helping his forces casually conquer the village. The battle did not even take ten minutes.
