Jordan- 15
When Hailey had said she didn't know where Jordan was Hank just about died, his heart stopped. His blood ran cold. No. Could he actually lose his little girl a year after he lost his son? He had finally come to terms with it. It still hurt like a bitch but he had just come to terms with it. He couldn't lose his little girl. She was all he had at this point.
Alvin had guided his friend away hoping to calm him down. Hailey knew losing her boss's daughter might as well be the end of her and possibly her career. In the small amount of time she and Jordan were together she knew Jordan was a special kid. There was something about the teen. Everyone had always said Jordan wormed her way into their hearts. She had a feeling now she knew what they meant.
Adam put a hand on her shoulder. "This wasn't on you Hailey"
"I shouldn't have let her go off alone. I should have followed her" Hailey spoke, guilt filled her voice.
"That's not true, Jo would have gone off if you had known or not. It's who she is. It's always been who she is"
"I have a feeling Patrick had something to do with it"
"What makes you say that?" Antonio spoke up.
"When he had us he kept trying to make moves on Jordan, that kid is one hell of a fighter"
"Don't we know it. We find Patrick, we find Jordan" Jay had gained his voice back.
"He's mine" Hailey's voice became icy and dangerous.
Meanwhile
Jordan was waking up, her head was groggy, she felt as if she was moving. She struggled to open her eyes. It felt as if a weight was on them finally after a few minutes she managed to open them and she blinked a few times clearing her vision. The teen looked around seeing she was in a van. Jordan had attempted to move but couldn't, her ankles were taped together and her wrists were tied behind her back.
The fifteen-year-old started to jump around trying to sit herself up; she saw a piece of broken glass on the floor. As carefully as she could she started to move towards it. Once she had it in her fingers she started to slowly take the glass and cut the tape the teen was careful not to cut herself. The thought had crossed her mind maybe it would take the edge away. The edge of wanting to drink and use. Just one little cut….
No! She couldn't. Not again. The teen swore those days were long gone, they were behind her. Never again she thought. She moved the glass faster cutting the tape slowly she felt her arms moving and her wrist becoming free. Almost done.. And then her wrists were freed. Suddenly the van stopped and she had kept her wrist behind her back to keep up the act.
Patrick opened the van door and grinned evilly. "There's my girl"
"Screw you"
"Oh believe me, you'll do plenty of that"
"Touch me and see what happens to you"
"I love my girls feisty"
"You really have no idea who you're messing with"
He reached in and pulled Jordan by her pants leg as she was being moved, she quickly moved her arms and threw one of her fists out punching him in the face in the nose. Patrick fell backwards and when he tried to go at Jordan again she had her legs pulled back and launched them as far and as hard as she could out kicking Patrick. He then fell back again hitting the ground.
The teen quickly untied her ankles and got out of the van careful not to trip on the ice and sludges of snow. Patrick saw the teen and scowled he tried to trip her up but she dodged it.
"Nice try asshole. You ain't the first person to try something, I guarantee you won't be the last"
"You little bitch" He growled.
"Been called worse" She sent a swift kick under his chin.
She started to get away; she had nearly slipped a few times but managed. Her body still hurt like hell, her midsection ached and it was sore. Most likely she had either a broken rib or they were bruised. Her arm definitely hurt, that was most likely broken and it was worse when her arms were tied. The pain was too great to bear, she wanted something. Anything for the pain to stop. Maybe just something for the pain. One pain pill shouldn't hurt.
Jordan shook her head as she continued to trudge through the ice and sludgy snow. She was getting closer and closer towards freedom. Patrick was following her and he was behind her when he grabbed her catching her off guard.
"Get the hell off me!" She yelled.
He took out another syringe from his pocket and put it in his mouth. He bit down on the top and pulled it off, spitting it out. When she caught the syringe from the corner of her eye she panicked not knowing what the drug could be.
"I...don't think...so...ass wipe" Jordan struggled.
He got the needle closer to her neck towards her vein, she was feeling scared. Fear in her eyes. She tried to use the strength that she had to fight.
"Be a good girl for me" He cooed in her ear, pulling her close and holding her tight.
"Screw you!"
She took her elbow and started ramming his ribs hard. His hold on her was loosening till he finally let her go; she then managed to bring her leg up and kick him in the midsection knocking him back.
"Like I said you don't know who you're screwing with" Jordan spat.
"I'll get you….you little bitch" He growled.
"Catch me if you can"
She then kicked him in the side and stomach area, she managed to quickly find his phone and take off. She took off down the road, it was cloudy as it started to snow again. It was cold, the wind was brutal. Pulling out the phone she started to dial her father's number. It rang and rang till…
"Hello?" Hank answered.
"D-dad...daddy it's me" Jordan answered, her voice hoarse. Her throat was dry and cracking.
"Jo Jo? Baby where are you" She heard snapping as if Hank was gathering his team.
Her vision was getting blurry, she couldn't see, her body was going limp again. Patrick had managed to catch up to her and put another needle in her neck. Before she knew it she went limp and passed out against Patrick.
"Jordan?! Jordan!" Hank called through the phone.
Patrick couldn't help but grin evilly and pick up the phone. "Howdy Sergeant"
"Listen to me you son of a bitch if you so much as touch a hair on my daughter's head I will kill you"
"Now is that anyway to talk to the guy who has your precious princess? Hell for a second I thought she was Upton's kid. Both of them are fighters and they're feisty. Just the way I like them"
This time Hailey came on the phone. "Patrick, you don't wanna do this. Jordan's an innocent kid. I'm the one you want. Let's trade me for her"
"And why would I wanna do that?"
"Because I'm the one you want. I lied to you. Jordan's a kid who's done nothing to you. I'll meet you wherever you want me to"
"Deal. I'll call you in an hour with a location. You come alone, unarmed and unwired. If I see or sniff so much as one of your partners or your Sergeant. The girl dies. Are we clear"
"Crystal clear"
After that he hung up. He carried Jordan back to the van on his shoulder and put her back in the van and started driving.
Back at the district they had managed to get a location on Patrick. Everyone was gearing up putting their vests on, grabbing the weapons they needed. Hailey had worn her vest under her shirt. She still couldn't help but feel guilty.
This was her fault that Jordan got taken, she swore she'd protect the kid but she didn't. Now she was in the hands of a deranged psychopath. Patrick would kill anyone without so much as blinking. He'd kill Jordan and not even think twice about it. The blonde detective knew if anything happened to her boss's daughter, she'd feel as if she would be shunned within Intelligence. Her career would never be the same again.
After she had made sure she had her vest on and she had a weapon hidden she had walked over to Hank. Hank was barely keeping his emotions under control. The older man had kept taking deep breaths to avoid a panic attack. Taking a deep breath herself she went over.
"Sarge, I'm so sorry for getting Jordan mixed up in this. That wasn't my intention I swear" Hailey spoke, she felt nervous. She wondered if she'd get a backlash.
One thing Hailey had gathered from joining Intelligence, Hank had been fiercely protective of his daughter and for good reason too. She knew all how the job can be, they made enemies every day and did just about anything to get at Intelligence. Even if it meant using Jordan, like Patrick is currently doing.
"Just...just get my daughter back. We'll talk later" Was all Hank said. It was all he could make out.
"Copy that Sarge"
"He stopped" Adam spoke from looking at the IPad, they were tracking Patrick's cell.
Then Hailey's phone rang the blonde detective felt her heart race the entire time as they all looked at her. Any other time would be different but this time Jordan was at stake. Hank watched on with worried eyes.
Hailey had answered. "Hello"
"Meet me at a warehouse on the docks. Remember come alone, unarmed, and unwired. I see anyone and she dies"
"I want proof of life to know Jordan's alive. Not a picture or video. I want to hear her voice"
"She's asleep at the moment but I'd be happy to take a message"
"Patrick! I want to hear her voice"
There was a brief pause on the phone then what sounded like weak breathing.
"H-H-Hailey…" Came a weak groggy voice, Jordan was coming around.
"Jordan. Are you alright honey?" Hailey's voice softened.
"36. 36"
The blonde detective had frowned. 36 what? "Jo, 36 what sweetie?"
"That's enough of that," Patrick came back.
"Patrick you don't wanna do this" Hailey warned him.
"You have 1 hour or she dies"
The phone had cut out and Hailey sighed. "What did she mean 36?"
"Could be the number to one of the docks or warehouses" Jay suggested.
"Let's go. He's dead" Hank said in a cold tone.
The team had moved out. At the docks Patrick was in a warehouse, the number outside of it read 36. He had tied Jordan up, he was taping her ankles to the wood chair. The fifteen year old had swallowed the dry lump in her throat. God what she wouldn't do for a drink of water. Or anything. She kept shaking her head. She could be in all the pain in the world right now but she still wouldn't fall.
"So I see now who your daddy is. You're Voight's kid" Patrick said to the teen.
"And...and you're an asshole" Jordan spat.
He stood tall to his height and backhanded her across the face. "Talk back like that to me again and see what I do to you"
All the teen did was chuckle dryly. "You think you're the first person to kidnap me and threaten me? Been there done that. You don't scare me. Nothing you do will scare me"
He then started taping her wrists to the chair. "Once your father and his team get here all of them and you will be dead"
"I highly doubt that. My dad and his team are invincible. There's nothing you can do to them that won't see coming. They're not stupid and neither am I"
He then tore off a long piece of tape and put it on her mouth. He took his gun out and hit her once again this time across the back of the head knocking her out.
"We'll see about that"
The hour was up, Hailey was on the docks looking around for the warehouse, the others stayed back looking to see where Jordan was being held. It was taking everything in Hank not to jump out and search all the warehouses tearing them apart looking for his little girl.
Patrick walked onto the docks and saw the blonde detective. "Hailey"
Hailey saw him. "Patrick. Where's Jordan. The deal was-" She was cut off.
"I remember the deal blondie"
"Then where is she. I'm here. Unarmed, unwired, my team's not here. Give me Jordan now"
"Or what?"
"Patrick, she's a kid. She's done nothing to you. Why are you doing this?"
"Why? Why?! I'll tell you why. When I thought you were Kelsy, I started falling in love with you. Till I found out who you really were. A diary lying cop. You used me, you lied to me. You hurt me. So I wanted to hurt you"
"And you thought using my boss's kid would hurt me?"
"Hell it would do something to the both of you"
"I'm here just give me Jordan"
"No. See it's too late for that. Jordan's dead"
When those words left his mouth Hank felt his heart drop far down into his gut. No it couldn't be, his baby wasn't...dead. The entire team went silent. Adam saw something in one of the warehouses.
"Guys, I got a heat signature in one of the warehouses, looks to be...36" Adam spoke, after getting his voice back. Pain and sadness filled his voice.
"Go" Hank ordered him. He was about to be a lion hunting his prey. If his little girl was gone, then it would cost Patrick his life. He closed his eyes, it was as if history was repeating itself a year later.
Adam, Kevin, Jay and Kim went to search the warehouse. It was taking Antonio and Alvin to keep Hank back from killing Patrick. When those words left his mouth, Hailey felt her heart drop. No. Jordan couldn't have been dead. She couldn't have been.
"Patrick, where is she?" Hailey asked, her voice slightly quivering.
He pulled his gun and aimed it at Hailey, he clocked the gun aiming it at her. Hank, Antonio and Alvin then went out. Hank in front, his gun in his hand, he was a lion hunting his prey. Antonio and Alvin were trying to hold him back, he shoved them away.
He grabbed a hold of Patrick and dragged him over near the water. The water temps were freezing. Hank shoved the man in and got down. He grabbed his head and held his head under water.
"Hank! Hank stop. Jordan wouldn't want you to do this" Antonio said trying to get his attention.
He remembered a year earlier when Erin said the same about Justin.
"Hank please. Justin wouldn't want you to do this" Erin cried, begging and pleading.
"Get out of here Erin" He replied coldly.
"Justin wouldn't want this. Hank think about Jordan. She still needs you. Please!"
"Get back in your car Erin"
Hank brought Patrick up, the man gasped and tried to suck in breaths of air only to be dunked back down into the freezing ice water.
The others were looking for Jordan, Jay busted the padlock on the door and they rushed in searching around. Kim had then spotted the unconscious teen.
"Guys over there," Kim pointed.
They rushed to the fifteen-year-old, Jay and Adam started to cut the restraints on her wrists and ankles. Kevin felt for a pulse and sighed in relief there was a pulse.
"She's alive" Kevin spoke.
"Jo, Jo come on sweetheart wake up" Jay says, gently shaking her and tapping her cheeks.
"Wake up kid. I know you can do it" Adam spoke.
When Jay checked her head he felt blood in her hair. "Come on Jo wake up, wake up kiddo"
"J-J-J..Jay" Came a small weak voice, Jordan was coming too.
"Attagirl. Open your eyes"
"S-stop...shaking me….before I...puke on..you"
The young detective couldn't help but chuckle and stopped shaking the teen. She tried to pry her eyes open. Her vision was still a bit blurry. When she saw the others she couldn't make them out. They were blurry and looked like shapes.
"I..I can't see. W-why can't I see?" Jordan panicked.
"Hey hey Jo, calm down. Listen to my voice and relax. You're gonna be alright" Jay soothed her.
"Why can't I see? W-where's my dad?"
"We'll take you to him," Adam told her gently.
They quickly got the teen out of there. Hank was continuing drowning Patrick unaware his daughter was alive. He brought Patrick up again and the man was gasping for air.
"SHE'S ALIVE! SHE'S ALIVE JUST STOP!" Patrick yelled.
"Hank stop!" Antonio yelled next.
Alvin started to pull his friend back, Antonio and Hailey grabbed Patrick out of the water and quickly cuffed him. Jay and Adam were holding Jordan up while Kevin and Kim were in tow.
Jordan felt weak in the two detective's arms and she gave out and passed out again. The two dropped beside her.
"Jo. Jo wake up. Come on sweetheart wake up" Adam shook her shoulder.
Jay pulled his radio out. "5021 George Emergency, I got a 15 year old female victim down, head wound. I need a bus to my location. Tell the bus to kick it in the ass"
"10-4 bus en route"
Adam took his jacket off and placed it under her head. Alvin guided Hank to where Jordan was, without a second thought Hank had run over dropping to his knees not caring about the slushy snow soaking his jeans.
He took in his daughter's features of her face, her eye was black and blue, dried blood covered around her eye, a huge scar there. Her cheeks were a rosy pink color from the cold. Her skin was pale white almost like a ghost, her skin was cold to the touch.
The two detectives handed Jordan to her father and Hank took his baby girl into his arms holding her close. He kissed her forehead softly.
"I'm here Jo Jo, daddy's here. Wake up sweetheart. Wake up" Hank murmured softly in her hair. Tears threatened to fall from his eyes.
After what seemed like an eternity the ambulance got there, the two paramedics quickly got to work stabilizing Jordan. Once she was secure on the gurney they loaded her into the ambulance. Hank hopped in not leaving his daughter, the ambulance took off for Med. The Intelligence unit followed closely behind.
Maggie got the page on the phone. "Dr. Rhodes! Dr. Halstead you're up! It's Jordan"
The two quickly got suited and gloved up. The paramedics rushed her in rambling off the information. They got her into the trauma room.
"On my count, 1 2 3" Connor and Will moved her from the gunnery to the bed.
"Jo, sweetheart can you hear me?" Will asked, looking into her eyes.
Her finger twitched and she tried to pry her eyes open. The older Halstead had faith the teen would be ok. She was a fighter after all. She was a Voight. Hank kept trying to get in the room but they wouldn't let him.
Connor had rushed out of the room running Jordan's bed to the elevators, Hank's heart dropped and he tried to chase after them but Will had caught the older father.
"Hank, hey listen to me. Jordan's in the best hands with Connor. As soon as I hear anything. I'll let you know" Will told him.
"Is she...she's not" Hank choked out, unable to say the words. He couldn't lose his little girl. He just couldn't. She was all he had left.
"Jordan's alive. She has what looks like a broken arm, she has multiple bruises, scratches, a couple broken ribs" He took a deep breath, this part may be hard. "There's a head wound and she may have a concussion. Jordan briefly told me she couldn't see Connor or myself"
The older father felt his heart race as he swallowed the lump in his throat. "Will, what are you saying?"
"Judging from where she was hit and how hard. There could be a chance that Jordan maybe. She may be blind. It could be temporary, it could be permanent. It's unclear until she wakes up"
Feeling his knees buckle he slowly started to drop till the redhead caught him. "It's alright Hank. Let's go sit down"
"I...I gotta be with her"
"I can't let you, I'm so sorry"
"Will please, I gotta be with my little girl"
"I'll get you as soon as I can. Do you want me to page Dr. Charles?"
The world was zoning out for Hank, he didn't hear Will anymore. He felt numb just completely numb. He wasn't able to be with his little girl and there was a chance she could go blind. He didn't really care about her being blind. As long as she was alive. That was his only main concern. Being away from her was killing him.
Will had guided the older father to the lounge, Hank had just walked like a zombie. Intelligence had run in, Jay seeing his brother he ran over.
"Will, how's Jordan?" Jay asked.
Hailey had felt her heart race, if anything happened to the teen she wouldn't forgive herself. Jordan was hurt and kidnapped because of her. She was nearly left for dead hadn't they found her in time.
Will had told the team Jordan's condition, they all fell silent. Hailey looked down feeling guilty. Jordan could be blind and it was on her. Maybe if she had left the young Voight alone and stayed at the district this wouldn't be happening. Adam saw the look on her face.
"This wasn't on you Hailey" Adam told her.
"It might as well be. She was hurt, kidnapped, and may possibly lose her eyesight because I took her out. If I had just kept her at the district.." She stopped feeling a lump in her throat.
"Hailey, it could have happened to any of us not just you"
The blonde walked away. Jay had followed his partner, he got them cups of coffee. He handed her one and she took it as she started to sip it.
"When Jordan was 11, I picked her up from school one day. Hank was in the middle of interrogation and the suspect we had in custody Hank didn't want Jordan to be at the district. I kept her out for a little while. My brother Will was in town for a visit. I took Jordan to get some pizza. A guy from my old Ranger platoon saw her. He assumed because she was with me she was my daughter" Jay started, remembering that day.
Hailey looked to her partner wide eyed. "What...what happened"
"Dom lost everything and I tried to help him but he didn't want help, he blamed me for it. In his eyes he wanted to settle the score. One day Jordan was at school he went to her school and told her I sent him to pick her up. Being as smart as she is she didn't believe him she ran back inside and called me. I called Will to go get her, Will took her back to my place. Dom broke in Will had stalled him so Jordan could get away eventually he found Jordan. She twisted her ankle and was about to get away with her but we got there in time"
She wiped her eyes. "What's your point?"
"My point, I thought my career in Intelligence was over. I put my boss's daughter in danger. I thought for sure Hank wanted me out of his unit but he didn't. He knew what happened wasn't my fault. It wasn't Will's fault. It was Dom's fault. Hank or Jordan aren't gonna blame you. I've been where you are. Hank's scared, give him time to cool off then talk to him"
The blonde looked down into her cup. "I slowly started to get to know Jordan a bit"
"It's gonna take some time to get to know her"
"I will say, she's a great kid"
"That she is"
After what seemed like forever Jordan had woken up, her vision wasn't back yet. Connor was checking her over. She made out a blurry shape.
"D-d-dad?" She asked, her voice hoarse.
Connor smiled down at her. "It's Connor kiddo, it's good to see you awake. Can you tell me what you see"
"Everything is blurry. I can't see you"
He brushed her hair back a bit. "It's gonna be ok kiddo. It'll come back, I know it will"
"Connor, no pain meds. I don't want any please. If I'm in pain I'll suffer"
"Jo it's ok to have pain meds. Your arm in broken, you have a few broken ribs, your gonna be in a lot of pain"
"Connor please, I can't. I can't go back down that road. I don't want any"
"How about for the time just some Tylenol? I'll give you a low dose. I promise it won't cause you to relapse"
"I..I guess that would be ok. Umm.. when I was with him..he injected me with something. It wasn't … tell me he didn't give me any.." She trailed off choking up.
"When ran all tests, your system is clean of any and all drugs, the most he gave you was a sedative"
The teen let out a sigh of relief. She didn't relapse. She was still clean and sober.
"Can I see Hailey?"
"You sure you don't wanna see you're dad?"
"I have to talk to Hailey"
"If your feeling up to it I can go get her"
"Thanks Con"
"No problem sweetheart, I'll be right back"
Connor left the room leaving the teen in her thoughts, Jordan felt tears streaming down her face. There was a chance she could go blind if she isn't already. She wouldn't be able to see anymore, she wouldn't see her father, if she ever got a chance, her nephew, it would be gone. The teen had let out a shaky breath.
She was broken out of her thoughts by a soft knock on the door, Hailey was there.
"Hey kiddo, you asked to see me" Hailey spoke softly.
"I can't really see but yeah" Jordan mused.
A pang of guilt hit the blonde detective as she went in to sit next to the young teen.
"How are you?"
"Pain's a bitch but I'll live"
"Jo you handled yourself really well out there"
"I was taught by the best. Besides it wasn't my first time being kidnapped and taken hostage. Probably won't be the last time"
"Does any of it really affect you in the end?"
"Nightmares occasionally but that's about it. I learned long ago not to let it get to me"
"Why did you tell Patrick to shoot you?"
"I was bluffing. He wouldn't do it"
"How do you know?"
"One, he's not a child murderer. Two, he knew if he killed me he'd have the entire CPD looking for him. He knew I was a cop's kid. When they find out who my dad is they figure out quickly I'm more valuable alive than dead because if I'm dead they have no leverage. I'm alive they have all the leverage"
"Are you sure you're not a cop and not a kid?" Hailey chuckled.
Jordan chuckled but quickly hissed in pain. "Shouldn't have done that"
"Jo, I know you feel and probably think I replaced Erin. I can't, I never could. You two share a bond that was something special. I know taking over for her I have pretty big shoes to fill. I also know your very protective of the others"
"They're family. And now you're here so that makes you family too. Just promise you won't screw up or leave. I can't take it if another person leaves"
"I'm not going anywhere kiddo, the 21st is my home. You guys are my family now. There's nothing I wouldn't do for you guys"
"Welcome to the family Hailey"
"Glad to be here honey"
What the two didn't know was that Hank was outside listening and he had a smile on his face. His team was his family. He was the father, Jay, Adam, Kevin, they were his sons. Kim and Hailey were his daughters. Alvin was his brother. Trudy was his sister. And even with Erin gone she has been and always will be his daughter. They were his family. Which meant they were Jordan's family and there's nothing they wouldn't do for them. He'd protect them all till his last breath.
Jay had an idea, Jordan's 1 year was coming up for her being clean and sober. It was a huge milestone and accomplishment for her. He wanted to do something special. He had gone over to his boss.
"Hey Sarge, you got a moment," Jay said softly, wanting to keep this a surprise.
"What's up Jay?" Hank replied.
"Jordan's 1 year is coming up, she's been clean and sober a year. I was thinking of doing a small party to celebrate"
"I think she'd like that"
"I can set everything up"
"She's gonna appreciate it. I do"
"Anything I can do to help out"
"I know since Erin left you've been a big help Jay. Helping Jordan attend her meetings, her classes. I'm very grateful Jay"
"That's what family does, Sarge. Jo's family"
The two men shook hands. Hailey was still beside Jordan. The teen tried to reach out for sme water.
"I got it sweetheart" Hailey took the cup and put the straw and the teen's dry lips.
Jordan took hold of the straw and started drinking the cold water to moist her dry throat. She was finished as she backed off the straw.
"Thanks, I needed that"
"Tell me about Erin, I wasn't here long enough to fully know her"
A smile appeared on the fifteen year old's face. "Erin was the best, growing up all I had was an older brother. I've always wanted a sister. That's what Erin was to me, my sister. She met me when I was 2 and since then she helped my dad and brother. Erin was very protective. She was protective of me, my brother, my dad. We were her family. We did everything sisters did, had sleepovers, shared secrets, that stuff. Me and Erin were very much alike"
"How so?"
"We were former addicts. Erin's mom, Bunny" Venom was in her voice when she said Bunny's name. "Bunny got Erin hooked to drugs when she was a kid. My age. After.. After Nadia died" She had choked up a bit. "Erin wasn't the same Bunny pulled her down a dark path she got Erin using and drinking again. She did it to me to, she had actually set me up to be raped"
Hailey had then looked wide eyed. "She what?"
"After my brother died was when I started spiraling out of control. Using, drinking, I uh..I even cut myself because I was so angry. I was like Erin blinded with anger and grief. I turned to Bunny. She gave me whatever I wanted, booze, drugs, money. I was a pawn in her game and I didn't know till it was too late. She took me to this party and sold me out to this drug dealer my dad and the others were looking for. Hadn't Adam and Kim kicked the door in and found me I don't know what would have happened"
The blonde was shocked. "I-I'm so sorry"
"Wasn't your fault. It was mine mainly. I trusted the wrong person when I shouldn't have"
"It wasn't your fault"
"In a way it was my fault I was out of control and not listening, doing my own thing. I'm over it, it was a year ago. I'm a new me again"
"I'm glad to hear that"
"I have a feeling we're gonna be good friends Hailey"
The blonde detective smiled. "I have that feeling too"
Jordan had spent a good few days in the hospital, her vision was slowly coming back. She looked between her father, Connor, and Will. Her vision was clearing as she was managing to make out the three adults.
"I...I think I can see" She said tearfully.
"Who am I, Jo?" Will asked.
She looked over to the older Halstead. "Will. You're Will"
"Good. Good job"
"What about me kid" Connor spoke.
"Your Connor"
"Good job sweetie"
"How about me sweetheart" Hank says, hope filled his voice.
"I can't forget my dad" She smiled.
Hank smiled and hugged her. "That's my girl"
"Everything is coming back"
"You're good to go home kiddo" Will said with a smile.
"Thanks guys" She hugged them.
"Let's go home baby" Hank smoothed her hair back.
Hank had kept Jay's party for his daughter a secret he knew she'd love it, it was gonna celebrate a huge accomplishment for her. She was officially clean and sober for 1 year. It was a very big deal. Soon the father and daughter headed home.
Over at Hank's house the team was getting set up for the party they ran out to get food, some refreshments, Jay had gotten a huge cake. It read 'Welcome Home and Happy 1 year' It was a chocolate cake with chocolate frosting, Jordan's favorite.
Adam and Kevin were working on the banner, it read, 'Welcome Home and Happy 1 year'
Jay looked over the banner watching his partners put it up. "Looks good guys"
"Good, I hate ladders and heights" Adam spoke, getting down.
"Hey Adam there's a mouse" Kevin teased.
"Wha" He jumped about 10 feet in the air.
Everyone had laughed as they recorded it. Adam huffed. "Would you all quit it"
"Sorry man that was priceless" Kevin laughed.
"It was worth the price of admission," Jay laughed.
"Everything is just about set up" Hailey spoke up.
Antonio was looking out the window and saw the car pull. "There here!"
"Everyone take your places" Jay told them.
They quickly got in their places. Hank and Jordan walked up, Jordan's vision was just about back. She was able to see more clearly. Hank opened the door and let his daughter go in first just as she was in she jumped when she heard a choir of
"Welcome Home! Happy 1 year!"
Tears immediately came to her eyes. "Wha….what is this"
Jay walked forward. "Happy 1 year being clean and sober. It's a big accomplishment"
"You...you remembered" She had choked up a bit.
He wrapped her in a hug. "Of course I remembered. We always will"
"I was scared that I relapsed when Patrick stuck me with the sedatives"
"You're good kiddo"
"We'll never let that happen" Kevin patted her shoulder.
"Not to my partner in crime" Adam picked her up.
She squealed. "Adam, put me down"
"I don't think so" He tickled her.
"Don't drop her Ruzek" Hank warned him lightly.
"I won't Sarge"
He set her back down, Hailey had gotten the teen some food and brought it to her.
"Figured you could use some real food after the crappy hospital food" Hailey said.
The plate contained a burger, pizza, mac and cheese, and chicken.
"Man this looks great" Jordan dug into her food.
Everyone had eaten, Jay cut the cake after he cut a piece and smashed it into the teen's face. Jordan laughed.
"I'm gonna get you Detective Chuckles" She teased.
"I'd like to see you try"
She ended up grabbing two plates that both had pieces of cake. She brought one to the back of his head bringing it down to the other piece. Everyone had chuckled and took pictures.
"You win. This time" Jay wiped the frosting off his face.
"I win every time"
"Ain't that the truth"
After the party everyone cleaned up and headed home for the night. Hank and Jordan were on the couch, Jordan tucked into her father's side. The teen was glad she had her vision back. Slowly she was going to sleep, Hank gently rubbed her arm.
"Sleep baby girl" He murmured.
"G'night daddy" She mumbled.
Hank pressed a kiss to her forehead. The last few days were very indeed stressful and emotional. They were unsure if Jordan would get her vision back or not. But the teen bounced back as always. The older father knew his daughter was strong and a fighter like he was. Nothing would stop her from fighting. She was tough, brave, strong, fearless, but most of all she was a Voight.

A/N: This story arch is over. I don't know much about blindness or temporary blindness I researched and did the best I could. I hope I did this justice!
