-Chapter-44-Sectionals part 1-

-Cassandra pov-

I was really hoping for a longer break. I forgot this was happening. We are doing sectionals for this year's competition. We are prepared for this though.

We have gotten better through practicing. The club started attending my dance classes too. That's another competition I have to get ready for. Brody sent a deal for a winner/loser agreement.

I don't think I'm gonna agree to it though. I have nothing to gain through it. I just hope we win both competitions. But one is right now and the other happens a while away.

The thing that sucks is we start it off. I don't know the schools that we are up against. Honestly I just wanna curl up and be babied. It would just be so much easier.

"Hey Cass" I look over and smile at Madison "You ok?"

"Just wanna crawl up and be babied" I pout "Being an adult and stressed is so hard! I just want it to be over with! They should just give us the award and let us go! I am so ti~"

"Cass!" I look at Shelby who holds a finger to her lips "Please be quiet and calm down ok? Those kids in there need you to be calm"

"They are just as scared as you are" Judy walks over to me "They wanna win just as bad too! You need to help calm them down"

Madison leans and to me ear and whispers "Plus if you're good we can get ice cream!" I step back and look at her shocked "If you win you be able to pick whatever size you want toooooo!"

"Large?" She nods and I head toward the green room "I am gonna calm them down! We are going to win! FOR ICE CREAM LARGE!"

"Miss July!" I open the door to see everyone ready "Is it time to head out?"

"Uhh not yet" I look around and see smiling mixed with determined faces "You all aren't freaking out?"

"No" Sugar shrugs "We all aren't that worried"

"We know we got this" Sam smirks and pulls grace into her "We already got that award in the bag"

"You've been a great teacher" I smile at the praise "We are going out there and winning this for you teach"

"Thank you" I wipe my eyes as the lights flicker "It's time to go out there! GO SHOW THEM WHOS THE BEST!"

They cheer and charge out of the room. I could not have asked for better students. They have been the best in every way. I'm proud of all of them.

Now it's time to show what their hard work was all for. They definitely have a winner's attitude going into this. I'm not too worried about them losing. I'm worried about sugar though.

That hand has had a few issues. We got it tightened but it could still fall. I walk out and follow my fiancés back stage. Time to watch them do their magic.

-Samantha-Kate-Both-

Right from the start

You were a thief

You stole my heart

And I your willing victim

I let you see the parts of me

That weren't all that pretty

And with every touch you fixed them

Now you've been talking in your sleep, oh, oh

Things you never say to me, oh, oh

Tell me that you've had enough

Of our love, our love

Just give me a reason

Just a little bit's enough

Just a second we're not broken just bent

And we can learn to love again

It's in the stars

It's been written in the scars on our hearts

We're not broken just bent

And we can learn to love again

I'm sorry I don't understand

Where all of this is coming from

I thought that we were fine

(Oh, we had everything)

Your head is running wild again

My dear we still have everythin'

And it's all in your mind

(Yeah, but this is happenin')

You've been havin' real bad dreams, oh, oh

You used to lie so close to me, oh, oh

There's nothing more than empty sheets

Between our love, our love

Oh, our love, our love

Just give me a reason

Just a little bit's enough

Just a second we're not broken just bent

And we can learn to love again

I never stopped

You're still written in the scars on my heart

You're not broken just bent

And we can learn to love again

Oh, tear ducts and rust

I'll fix it for us

We're collecting dust

But our love's enough

You're holding it in

You're pouring a drink

No nothing is as bad as it seems

We'll come clean

Just give me a reason

Just a little bit's enough

Just a second we're not broken just bent

And we can learn to love again

It's in the stars

It's been written in the scars on our hearts

That we're not broken just bent

And we can learn to love again

Just give me a reason

Just a little bit's enough

Just a second we're not broken just bent

And we can learn to love again

It's in the stars

It's been written in the scars on our hearts

That we're not broken just bent

And we can learn to love again

Oh, we can learn to love again

Oh, we can learn to love again

Oh, oh, that we're not broken just bent

And we can learn to love again

The crowd applauds and our duet steps off. Up next is the solo. I look around and see Abby having a panic attack. This is not supposed to be happening! Wait I'm the teacher!

"Abby!" I run over "Are you gonna be able to do this?"

"N-no" She has tears in her eyes "My throat feels sore and I just didn't wanna disappoint anyone"

"You aren't gonna disappoint anyone if you can't sing from being sick" I give her a smile and look over at Marley "Can you do the solo? You're the next best Broadway voice"

"I-I" she looks around then nods "I'm on it"

She walks out as the music begins. Hopefully we don't lose things from points. Judy takes Abby away to get some water. Her well-being is more important then her trying to sing and hurting more.

-Marley singing-

Don't tell me not to live

Just sit and putter

Life's candy and the sun's

A ball of butter

Don't bring around a cloud

To rain on my parade

Don't tell me not to fly

I've simply got to

If someone takes a spill

It's me and not you

Who told you you're allowed

To rain on my parade!

I'll march my band out

I'll beat my drum

And if I'm fanned out

Your turn at bat, sir

At least I didn't fake it

Hat, sir, I guess I didn't make it!

But whether I'm the rose

Of sheer perfection

Or freckle on the nose

Of life's complexion

The cinder or the shiny apple of its eye

I gotta fly once

I gotta try once

Only can die once, right, sir?

Ooh, life is juicy

Juicy, and you'll see

I'm gonna have my bite, sir!

Get ready for me, love

'Cause I'm a "comer"

I simply gotta march

My heart's a drummer

Don't bring around a cloud

To rain on my parade!

I'm gonna live and live now

Get what I want, I know how

One roll for the whole shebang

One throw, that bell will go clang

Eye on the target, and wham

One shot, one gun shot, and bam

Hey, Mister Arnstein, here I am!

I'll march my band out

I will beat my drum

And if I'm fanned out

Your turn at bat, sir

At least I didn't fake it

Hat, sir, I guess I didn't make it

Get ready for me, love

'Cause I'm a "comer"

I simply gotta march

My heart's a drummer

Nobody, no, nobody

Is gonna rain on my parade!

The crowd is silent before erupting. Marleys face breaks out into a smile. She's going to go very far. Now is the group number. The music begins as everyone rushes out.

This has taken a lot of time to perfect. The kids wanted to make sure it was perfect. I think it's beyond perfect. This is where they will shine the brightest.

This is where they get their win.

-Candy-Angie-Doug-Jasmine-All-

Come, they told me (pa-rum-pa-pum-pum)

A newborn king to see (pa-rum-pa-pum-pum)

Our finest gifts we bring (pa-rum-pa-pum-pum)

To lay before the king (pa-rum-pa-pum-pum)

(Rum-pa-pum-pum)

(Rum-pa-pum-pum)

So, to honor Him (pa-rum-pa-pum-pum)

When we come

Baby Jesus (pa-rum-pa-pum-pum)

I am a poor boy too (pa-rum-pa-pum-pum)

I have no gifts to bring (pa-rum-pa-pum-pum)

That's fit to give a king (pa-rum-pa-pum-pum)

(Rum-pa-pum-pum)

(Rum-pa-pum-pum)

Shall I play for you (pa-rum-pa-pum-pum)

On my drum?

Mary nodded (pa-rum-pa-pum-pum)

The ox and lass kept time (pa-rum-pa-pum-pum)

I played my drum for Him (pa-rum-pa-pum-pum)

I played my best for Him (pa-rum-pa-pum-pum)

(Rum-pa-pum-pum)

(Rum-pa-pum-pum)

Then, He smiled at me (pa-rum-pa-pum-pum)

Me and my drum

Me and my drum

The crowd is filling the place with cheers. I smile as the kids all bow. They did excellent work out there. I feel a hand on my shoulder and turn.

"You did great work with them" Shelby smiles "You have outdone even me as a teacher"

"I wanted to make you proud with this" I smile as tears begin to form "I'm so happy to hear you say that"

"You don't have to try to impress me" She gives me a chaste kiss "I love everything you do and everything about you! Win or lose I know those kids love you too Cass! A teachers job is to make a difference in their students lives"

"You definitely do that" Madison hugs me "You earned that large ice cream"

I smile and hug her back "I love you both" I pull back as the kids come back stage "Let's head to the green room"

-Boy-Group-

Ah you gonna take me home tonight

Ah down beside that red fire light

Ah you gonna let it all hang out

Fat bottomed girls you make the rocking world go round

Hey I was just a skinny lad

Never knew no good from bad

But I knew life before I left my nursery (huh)

Left alone with big fat Fanny

She was such a naughty nanny

Heap big woman, you made a bad boy out of me

Hey hey!

I've been singing with my band

Across the water, across the land

I've seen every blue eyed floozy on the way (hey)

But their beauty and their style

Went kind of smooth after a while

Take me to them dirty ladies every time

C'mon!

Ah, won't you take me home tonight?

Ah, down beside your red fire light

Ah, and you give it all you got

Fat bottomed girls you make the rocking world go round

Fat bottomed girls you make the rocking world go round

Hey, listen here

Now I got mortgages and homes

I got stiffness in the bones

Ain't no beauty queens in this locality (I tell you)

Oh, but I still get my pleasure

Still got my greatest treasure

Heap big woman you done made a big man of me (now get this)

Oh (I know), you gonna take me home tonight (please)

Oh, down beside that red fire light

Oh, you gonna let it all hang out

Fat bottomed girls you make the rocking world go round (yeah)

Fat bottomed girls you make the rocking world go round

Get on your bikes and ride

Ooh, yeah, oh, yeah, them fat bottomed girls

Fat bottomed girls, yeah, yeah, yeah

Allright

Ride 'em come on

Fat bottomed girls

Yeah, yeah, right

"I got asked to be a choir director" We all turn to see a smirking mohawked boy "You all are going down"

"No way" Shelby's jaw is dropped "No fucking way"

"Noah?"
