Hello again, Episode 45 is here. What will be the challenge about? Are the assault rifles real, as some of the campers fear? And who will get the immunity for the challenge? Find out here on Total Drama Tyranny of the Masses.
And as always please leave a review. One of my favorite parts so writing this story is to know what you think about it. Or at least mark it as a favorite, that way I will know you're having a good time. And before starting let me answer last week's reviews.
Harmony735: I'm glad you enjoy the episode. Honestly, there were a lot of developments in the last episode.
gman5846: Sampher had been in the oven for a lot of episodes, I wonder what will happen between them.
Aleheather4ever: Heather is a complex character. What are her real thoughts about either Cody or Courtney is a mystery.
Danics: I'm glad you liked Duncan so far. He is one of my favorite characters to write. And nice eye, he was carving almost all the first half of the story just to find which trees were real.
WhatTheHeck23: Now that they are in the merge, some plots began to advance quicker. I'm glad you enjoy the episode. And yes, Topher and Sammy were a little cheesy and dorky. I hope that isn't something bad.
And as always, a REALLY BIG shoutout and THANKS to Geofics, who helps me proofread the episodes. I really owe you one for helping me. Thanks a lot.

Battlefield Pahkitew Part 2
In the last episode of Total Drama, Tyranny of the masses. The new challenge was revealed, and this time it's a total WAR among the contestants. Our peaceful Pahkitew island will turn into a full-fledged battleground with no allies. Each one is on their own in the ultimate battle for survival.
But for this challenge, we'll equip the campers with their own M-16 assault rifles. Are we really giving this dangerous weapon to unprepared civilians? And what are the rules behind this crazy carnage? Find out now here on Total Drama Tyranny of the Masses.
The remaining contestants were at the forest entrance. Chris and Chef, dressed in military uniforms, gave them the instructions for the next challenge. It was a survival battle in which their weapons were M-16 Assault rifles.
For Courtney, this reveal was too much, and she began to shout at the host. "ARE YOU CRAZY!? And what are we supposed to do with this? Even as a joke it's a bad idea to give this kind of weapon to normal people! And we also have many underage contestants! If someone ends up hurt, we'll su-"
"Hahaha, calm down. Let me explain the rules first," said Chris, putting out his arm in a defensive gesture. "These are your weapons. I wanted to do something exciting, so we got these M-16 paint rifles."
All the campers looked at him with wide eyes and annoyed expressions.
"What? Did you think I'll let YOU use real firearms? Haha, you're too stupid and dangerous for that," said Chris, enjoying messing with the campers, "Also I fear you could hit me with a stray bullet."
Brick raised a hand. "A question, sir. Why are our weapons made to look like M-16 instead of C7s [1]?"
"Because that was what our sponsors wanted. So if anyone mentions any other brand of rifle they'll be automatically eliminated from the challenge," explained Chris narrowing his eyes at the campers.
Confessional: Brick.
"I know it's all about being realistic, but if you make a challenge using assault rifles, you should at least try to use the best market brands. Even then, using real brands may not be the best idea, especially if you choose which one to use based only on what your sponsors want," said Brick folding his arms and looking at the camera with a concerned expression.
"The rules are simple. Each of you'll start at one of the randoms points around the island. You'll have one of these rifles and one of these bracelets," Chris took out a bracelet and showed it to the campers, it had a big display like an oversized smartwatch. "You will have 6 hours to find your opponents and shoot them. DAM will evaluate if they are out of the game or still alive. If you're out, your bracelet will emit a loud sound, and your rifle will be deactivated."
"And the winner will be the last man standing," said Cody, making a smug smile.
"Don't be so hasty. There will be three immunities in this challenge. One is for the last player standing, but there will be another two determined by your actions in the game. But those are a surprise, so you will have to find out after the game," explained Chris enjoying the annoyed face of the contestants. Heather, Courtney, and Amy seemed especially angry.
"And what happens if there are still players alive after the 6 hours," asked the Latin girl in an annoyed tone.
Chris chuckled, waving his palms in a calm down gesture. "Don't get so excited. Save some of that energy for the challenge. Every 30 minutes, the combat area will be reduced, and if you are out of bounds, you will be eliminated. Your bracelet will change from blue to red color when you are standing in a zone that will be out of bounds in 30 minutes or less."
Topher raised a hand. "And if after the reduction there is still more than one player left?"
"Then DAM will determine the winner from among the last players standing. But believe me, that will not happen," said Chris making an impish smile. "After all, we have prepared the last part of the challenge to be fun and interesting."
Alejandro rubbed his chin, looking at the host with a thoughtful expression. "We have to shoot at our opponents on sight? Or we can wait for the best moment?"
"You don't need to shoot immediately, but not doing it's stupid. They can shoot you instead. But do what you want," replied Chris smiling.
The Spaniard smirked but didn't mention the real intention of his question.
"And what if we run out of ammo?" asked Sammy timidly. But it was, in fact, a very smart question.
The host adjusted his cap, "Around the island, you can find boxes with ammunition and other surprises." Somehow the way Chris pronounced surprises sounded like a threaten instead of a good thing.
The campers looked at each other while some interns, including Logan, began to arrive at the forest.
"If there are more questions, I don't care. The interns will guide you now to your starting point. Once you're in your position, we'll get started. Good luck soldiers, may the best camper win," said Chris saluting exaggeratedly.
Most campers rolled their eyes or groaned, but Brick returned the salute, smiling proudly.
Confessional: Charlotte.
"I couldn't ask for something better than this. It's just like playing Call of Warfare in real life. This is my chance to prove I'm one of the best and beat Sky fair and square. But of course, my first priority is still to make sure that neither Amy nor Brick can win this game," said Charlotte hitting her palm with her fist.
Confessional: Amy.
"Oh my gosh. A shooting challenge, how fun." She said in an annoyed and snarky tone. "Now we need to go into the woods, sweat around until we find someone, and risk getting dirty with paint. Can't he tell us these things beforehand? That way, I would be wearing one of Samey's uniforms."
Confessional: Cody.
"Quoting Harold, this challenge is one of the best ones to show my mad skills," said Cody making finger guns at the camera. "I may not seem like it, but I'm a fan of paintball and also of first-person shooters. So I hope this one is my game."
Lilly arrived at the starting point near the caves in the north part of the island. It was just a big white circle in the middle of the forest.
Even if she has to walk a lot, she was humming happily, proud of herself. After all, she had the courage to give Cody her homemade cookies. Of course, she needed a push from Amy, but she did it.
Once she entered the white circle, she could hear Chris from the island loudspeakers.
"At last, the 13 contestants are at their starting points. We have confirmed the signal of your 13 bracelets. So the game starts NOW. Happy hunting!" said Chris in an excited tone.
Lilly looked around and began to stroll into the forest. She didn't know what to do, but she needed to try to find someone and *gulp* shoot them.
After realizing this, she stopped in her tracks, her eyes went wide, and her body was trembling. How am I supposed to do this? She thought. She never went to play paintball, much less to a shooting range.
She was agonizing over this when she heard a small sound coming from her purse.
"*bzzt* Minion, are you there? Over," said Max in a loud and authoritative tone.
Lilly blanched and ran as fast as she could (that wasn't so fast) to hide in a nearby bush before taking the strange contraption from her purse.
"I told you to not call me during challenges," said Lilly in a worried tone, lowering her eyebrows, "What if someone hears you?"
Max began to reply in a faster tone."*bzzt* NONSENSE, I already took that into consideration. If I talk to you during the challenge, it is to help you nincompoop. Now listen carefully, over."
"But I don't want your help. I'm grateful for what you have done in the past, but I can never improve myself if I don't do this alone," explained the treehugger in a more serious voice.
"We can do as you want. I can leave you alone," there was a small silence before he continued, "But, you want to impress Cody with your performance, right? You know that by doing this alone, you don't have what it takes. Do you really want to waste this chance? Over."
Lilly bit her lower lip. Even if it hurt, he was right. "I'm sorry, you`re right. Please tell me what to do."
"I knew you were a smart girl!" said Max in an uncharacteristic tone, "now walk to the path in the woods at your right, and follow my instructions, over."
She nodded even if he couldn't see her. "Ok I'm going."
After walking for some minutes, she found a golden metallic box.
"This is one of the surprises that Chris mentioned!" said Lilly in an excited and low tone.
"Of course.*bzzt* This should be the key to our victory, mwahahaha," said Max laughing loudly.
Lilly opened the crate but wasn't too sure if this would really help her win the challenge.
Confessional: Lilly.
The treehugger was looking down to the floor. "I know it's just a small dream. I would like Cody to remember me after the season. I know I can't win and if I'm still here, it's thanks to Amy and Max. But I want to at least do something for him before being eliminated. "
Sammy was walking around the border of the river. There were no signs of other competitors. She looked around cautiously, using the trees to get cover every few steps.
The bracelet changed from red to blue. That means I'm in a safe zone. Now I just need to find either a crate or a *gulp* opponent, thought Sammy as she walked, letting the sound of the water cover her steps.
The first part of the competition would be slower. With so much territory to explore and no way to know where the other 12 were, she decided to go just outside the first out-of-bounds area and walk near the limit. Because the logical move was to get out of the danger zone as soon as possible, which meant a better chance to meet someone.
Just stay calm Sammy. You got this. You won yesterday's challenge and beat Amy. You can do it again. The younger twin thought as she advanced through the field.
She tried to feel confident. Aside from winning yesterday, she made some strong alliances and even made the merge! Heather may be right and she's the best twin. That thought made her smile.
And then she saw someone near some rocks in the distance. I can't believe it, is that Amy?
Sammy ran behind the trees as stealthy as she could. Her sister jumped behind the rock. Did she see me, or was it a coincidence? Wondered Sammy. Either way, it's better not to take risks
The younger twin began to advance through the trees surrounding the rock to get a clear sight of her sister. But just as she was near the rocks, her eyes met with her sister's, who was looking through a gap in the rocks.
But instead of shooting, Amy just raised her arms over her head, smiling. "Don't shoot, Samey. It's me."
Sammy shot a small burst, Amy crouching immediately, the rock turning red in a moment.
"DIDN'T YOU HEAR ME! I'M AMY, YOUR SISTER," shouted the older twin in an angry tone.
"Of course I know, but we're enemies, remember?" replied Sammy, looking for a better angle to shoot again.
Amy sighed. "I know, but why you need to be so short-sighted! We may be opponents, but we can work together to get some of the opponents before killing each other."
"Are you suggesting working together? And you think I'll believe you?" asked the younger twin in a skeptical tone.
"Augh! It's only an idea. We can just shoot each other if it's what you want." Said Amy in an annoyed tone. "But think about the rules for a moment. No rule stops us from working together, and probably the others are teaming up while we eliminate each other."
Sammy was silent for a moment. Probably Amy was right. But can she really trust her?
But even if she couldn't trust her, Sammy was quicker and had better reflexes than her sister. Even if it was a trap she would simply shoot first. There was no problem with playing along a little.
Then the sound of something falling on the ground distracted her. Sammy jumped behind a tree and pointed at it, but what she found shocked her. Amy just threw her assault rifle.
"I don't have my weapon anymore, so you can trust me or just shoot me out of the game. Your choice," said Amy standing up with the hands behind her head.
Sammy sighed and took Amy's rifle. "Ok, I believe you. Let's make a truce. But only this time."
"I knew you would make the smart decision. You're my sister, after all," said Amy, smirking and hugging her sister. Sammy awkwardly returned
Both twins then began to walk along the river. Sammy was cautious of her sister, but after some tense minutes, it seemed the older twin wasn't trying to fool her.
Amy looked around, "It's a shame. It doesn't seem there is any other camper around.
"We just started, so it may be some time before we found someone," replied Sammy, "and it's better if we stop the small talk. If someone hears us, we will be in trouble."
"You know, it's been a while since we were together alone. I think it was in the swimming challenge," said Amy ignoring her sister's warning.
The younger twin rolled her eyes. "Yes, but it's just because when we're together outside challenges, you have to be so bossy, snarky, and mean."
"There again, I'm the evil villain and you poor Samey, the victim. I hoped that our time apart would help you mature," replied the older twin in a tired tone.
"See, that's exactly the attitude I hate! I open my heart, and you mock me," said Sammy, stopping and glaring at her sister.
"Maybe it's because NOBODY wants to be called bossy, snarky, and mean." replied Amy, also glaring at her.
The younger twin clenched her fist. "I only call you that because you treat me like a slave. And no, I'm not to blame that you were a horrible sister."
"Maybe I was just like that because you were wimpy, spineless, and whiny. Do you really think I enjoy being the bad one and you the loved one?" asked Amy, also clenching her fist.
"Augh! Stop blaming me! You were always the bad one," said Sammy holding her gun and shooting at her sister. But the gun didn't shoot.
Amy narrowed her eyes and kicked the gun out of Sammy's hands before aiming her own. "What? Did you forget to take off the lock of your paint weapon?"
Sammy felt a shiver run down her spine. She was sure she took off the safety lock of her weapon. Did Amy activate it again? How?
The older twin just smiled and began to shoot at her younger sister. Sammy then took a split-second decision and jumped into the river.
"Are you crazy?" shouted Amy, but it was too late. The current took her down the river.
Amy got her sister's rifle and took off the safety lock. There was no announcement on the loudspeaker, so her sister was still in the game. It wasn't so bad. Next time she would get her.
Confessional: Amy.
The twin was glaring at the camera. "Yes, what I did to Sammy was underhanded. But I was really amazed she tried to shoot me first. Maybe that Sparemy is really growing a spine. I need to be careful or I'll be the one losing our bet."
Charlotte took a little time to use some dirt and leaves to camouflage herself. In the more realistic games, where you didn't have invisibility power-ups, you need characters that can become camouflaged with the stage. So she did that.
Her main objective was Sky, but there was no way to know the other players starting point, so she just began to run to claim the center of the battlefield.
All her opponents were noobs, except maybe the Codemeister (and perhaps Amy, but if she was a gamer or not was hard to tell). The rest knew nothing about first-person shooter strategies. So the basic was to choose your opponents and be the one to decide when to attack.
And of course, if all will end in the center, it was smart to try to secure a place there and ambush her opponents.
But as she was running around, Charlotte saw someone crossing the field in brief but quick movements. Her eyes narrowed in anger as soon as she recognized the camouflage green pants. It was Brick, the traitor.
In an unusual change of plans, the gamer decided to go after him. Running quickly across the field, just a few steps behind him. She was about to catch with him just as both entered a clearing in the middle of the woods.
But when the e-gamer entered, the cadet just vanished in thin air.
"what the…" said Charlotte under her breath. Then she realized it. IT WAS A TRAP.
She jumped back on her tracks as a small burst of paintballs hit the spot in which she was standing, leaving dark green spots on the ground
Brick smiled. He knew someone may have been following him, so he guided them onto the clearing. But Charlotte had good instincts. It seemed the game would not be as easy as the cadet thought.
The e-gamer underestimated him. It was true Brick didn't have any experience with first-person shooters (or video games in general.) But he has training in real-life combat and strategies. He never fought on a real battlefield but did a lot of training exercises just like this one.
In fact, the cadet was probably the most dangerous player in this challenge.
But Charlotte was very hard-headed, so she decided to stay and eliminate him right now. None of them knew at the moment how long their duel would last.
On the other side of the forest, Alejandro was walking quite confidently. This was his kind of game. He just needed to find one of his many allies, and then they could hunt together for both Sammy's and Heather's alliances.
There were only roughly a dozen opponents to beat, and right now, the Spaniard had the game in his pocket, especially after Shawn's elimination. That was just the proof he needed that the plan was still working in the merge.
As Alejandro advanced, he saw someone in the woods. The lime green color on his opponent's hair was so awful that it didn't work even as camouflage.
Maybe I can convince him to work together. But knowing his ego, he'll probably just shoot me in the back. So let's finish him. Thought the Spaniard as he was watching him.
Alejandro walked toward Duncan, trying to stay out of his sight, but the sound of a stone almost hitting him made the punk look around.
"Damn!" shouted Duncan jumping behind some trees. He knew someone would appear soon, but he didn't expect Alejandro.
"Wait bromigo. It's me! There is no need to attack each other," lied Alejandro. Now that he was discovered, it was better to change his plans.
But Duncan's answer was a small burst of paintballs that left some silver spots on the trees near Alejandro.
"As you wish!" shouted Alejandro as he prepared his weapon.
Duncan cursed his aim. Alejandro, Brick, and that gamer girl would probably be the enemies to beat. Now that Al knew he didn't want to team up with him, he will probably go all out.
"This is the part in which you run with your tail between your legs," shouted Duncan. After all, he wanted to finish Alejandro here and now.
Such a cheap attempt to provoke me. Sometimes Duncan acts like the small fry thug he looks like. Thought Alejandro as he crawled silently, looking for a better angle to shoot the delinquent.
But even if the provocation was too obvious and cheap, Alejandro had his pride. And he couldn't just leave and let Duncan have the last word.
The Spaniard had no formal training in combat like Brick, but his Uncle Francisco taught him the basics of combat tactics and how to shoot a gun. And he knew that it was the best idea to get Duncan out now.
The delinquent lay low, trying to find an angle to shoot his (air quotes) friend. He was hiding beside a tree and saw Alejandro behind some rocks. He was well hidden, but the border of his shirt gave him away.
Duncan smirked and walked slowly to the point wanting to flank him. But too late he realized that it wasn't Alejandro! It was only his shirt.
The sound of a new small burst filled the air. It was over.
The loud noise of the bracelet's buzz filled the air as the mechanical voice announced in the loudspeakers.
"First opponent down and 12 remaining. Good start campers keep the killing going," said Chris in a mocking tone.
The Spaniard was still crawling and had the delinquent in his sight when he felt the paintball hitting him in the back. He then realized it was too late. He was out of the game.
He stood up and clapped, "Bien jugado amigo mio. I was sure I got you with the shirt decoy. I hope you end up winning this challenge."
"You're too kind, bromigo," replied Duncan in a snarky tone. "But it was just luck, nothing to do about it."
"Only a question, how did you know I wasn't hiding there? I was sure you were looking at my shirt," asked Alejandro, the expression in his eyes betraying his smile.
Duncan shrugged, "Sorry, but it's a magic trick. And magicians never reveal their tricks."
"I can understand that," said Alejandro nodding, but he cursed the delinquent under his breath. He took his shirt, not realizing that the shoot in his back was green-colored.
Confessional: Duncan.
"About how we fooled Alejandro, well in this zone of the forest, the trees are almost all real. Which made it an ideal place to hide. And also in that clearing, the best place to point at me was the grass in which he hid. Sometimes being too good can also be a weakness," said Duncan smirking and making a finger gun at the camera.
The first half-hour was over, and the battlefield shrank the first time. So far, there was only one elimination.
Cody was hidden in the bushes while eating some cookies. He waited for half an hour, and nobody passed around.
Maybe hiding at the beginning of the game wasn't a great idea. Thought the brunette guy, then his bracelet began to blink with a red light.
He sighed, it was time to change locations. He looked around and cautiously began to run toward the center of the zone.
There was no one there. All the others have probably run toward the center, Cody thought. Why doesn't real life have a minimap or something like that? Chris could give them one integrated into the bracelet, no?
Anyway, there was no use in thinking about what-ifs. Right now, he needed to go out of the red zone and find a new hiding spot.
There were many strategies in this kind of game, but Cody preferred to hide (preferably in a high ground area) and begin to kill from there. It could probably work better for a real-life game like this one.
But as he was running around, he found another person running and shooting. It was Heather, and she seemed to be quarreling with someone else.
"I told you to leave me alone! Why are you so persistent?" said Heather, shooting blindly at the forest.
However, there was no buzzing sound or otherwise, meaning she failed to hit her enemy.
The Queen Bee clicked her tongue, cursing her own luck, and kept running away, but a new burst came from her side, hitting her in the leg that had now a big purple stain over her calf.
The sudden burst and surprise made Heather fall to the ground, her rifle falling some feet in front of her. Then her pursuer came out of the forest.
"I'm sorry. But there was no way you could beat me," said Sky smiling smugly. "Now give me back what you stole!"
Heather narrowed her eyes. Her bracelet didn't buzz, so she was still in the game, but, could she shoot the small girl before she shoots her?
But luckily for the Queen Bee, a single shot made the Cree girl jump back.
"Heather, get cover behind a tree," shouted Cody, making a warning shoot to get Sky's attention and give the Asian girl a chance to escape.
In a smooth movement, the Queen Bee rolled in the ground and took her rifle before getting behind a tree, but Sky had disappeared.
The gymnast was jumping and running through the trees in a way similar to parkour. Changing her position quickly to surprise her opponent. In an instant, she was behind Cody.
Or more precisely, she was behind the place Cody WAS when he shot her. But he was different from Heather. He had a lot of experience.
And I was right. You tried to take my back thought Cody. Instead of pursuing her, he hid in some bushes waiting for her.
The brunette guy shot a burst of paintballs that turned the grass yellow. But even if he had a lot of experience in games, he only did paintball three times in his 19 years of life (not the expert he claimed to be in the confessional).
Sky avoided the shoot graciously, jumping and tumbling away, but after her third tumble, she felt a sharp pain at the base of her back.
"Darn, not now." said the Cree girl under her breath when she heard someone shooting from the side. It was Heather that was flanking her.
With cat-like reflexes, Sky tried to keep away from her shoots, but the pain in her back made her slower. She avoided some shoots but was hit in the side by some of Cody's yellow paintballs. Her bracelet buzzed loudly.
"YES! We did it," shouted Heather, running and hugging Cody. "Thanks for saving me. I could do it alone but thank you for the help."
The brunette guy blushed. "Yeah, no problem."
The Cree girl stood up, narrowing her eyes at the Asian girl. "Two against one is unfair! But there is no use to protest now."
"Sorry about that. But you played a great game. Those moves were awesome," said Cody, giving thumbs up to Sky.
"Yes, right? I'm so proud of my reflexes. I'm sure that next time I can beat you," said the gymnast, her face beaming. "But you, Heather, you stole the prize from the crate I found. That was totally unfair."
The Asian girl looked at her with an arrogant expression. "It was your fault for leaving it there like that. There was no rule against taking a crate found by someone else."
"I hope you're out of the game soon." Said Sky narrowing her eyes at the Queen Bee, and then turned toward Cody. "And good luck to you. I'm always cheering for those that play fairly."
Sky then went away, leaving Cody and Heather alone.
"Did you steal from her? Was that really necessary?" asked Cody, raising an eyebrow.
Heather tossed her braid at him. "Please, this is a game, Cody. Some rough moves are expected. Nothing personal, but I don't pretend to go and help every opponent out there. Only my allies."
"I suppose as much. That's why I haven't shoot you," said the brunette boy, smiling sadly. "And what did you get from her? A shotgun? A sniper rifle?"
The Queen Bee took from her pants a small device that looked like a compass and smiled smugly. "Nope, a radar."
Cody looked at it with wide eyes. And then he and Heather began to walk looking for other players. Cody was keeping an eye over her', not sure if she would betray him or not.
Confessional: Sky.
The Cree girl was with her arms folded and a frown on her face. "I don't like that Heather. I know she's Sammy's friend, but I don't like her attitude and way of doing things. She was the one that sweet-talked me to not shoot her only to steal my crate. I know only one can win the challenge, but there is a right and wrong way of doing things."
Mike was walking in the forest. He was alone, something that he hated.
At the end of the All-star season he felt really excited. He was over his DID, and Zoey gave him half of the prize money. Not that he used it. He saved it in an account and only spent some of the money to help the Brunos, the owners of the shelter home where he lives, with some expenses.
But after 5 months, he began to develop some anxiety when he was alone. He was afraid he was developing monophobia or another mental-related issue. But his psychologist told him it was nothing like that. That it was normal to feel anxious now that he didn't experience any memory gap.
But he kept it under control, at least until he had the team swap and got separated from Zoey. Could it be the stress of the competition?
Mike walked across the forest, the summer sun falling inexorable over him. He knew in the deep of his heart that it wasn't the competition. It was something else, something he realized and was too afraid to put in words. Something that he couldn't tell Zoey, but that was clear as water now that she wasn't here.
Suddenly he found something in the middle of the forest that broke his train of thought, a gunfight.
The guy with spiky hair hid as he saw the people running through the trees. It was obvious from the Indigo and Dark green spots in the grass and trees that two of his opponents were fighting.
They weren't shooting, but the sound of something running through the branches made it evident that they were trying to get a clear sight of the opponent.
A sinister and smug smile appeared on Mike's face. These amateurs thought this was a war game, but they were wrong. This is a hunting challenge. And nobody is a better hunter in this game than him.
The guy with spiky hair then began to make his preparations.
A few steps from him, Brick was trying to think of a strategy to get Charlotte. The E-gamer was better than he expected, and he already spent 15 of his 30 bullets.
The chasing and shooting approach wasn't working, and if he wasn't careful, he would run out of ammo. But his attempts at disengaging with his enemy were fruitless. Charlotte was tenacious and didn't give him a breather.
But she also must be running low on ammo. Thought the cadet. So there was a way he could catch her. But he needed to act quickly.
First, he watched at the nearby trees, looking for one that helped him with his plan.
Once he found it, Brick took 2 heavy rocks and threw one to the other side of the woods he was hidden. The impact made a loud noise and scared some of the few animals that didn't escape from the fight.
The soldier then climbed quickly the tree he chose, which was tall and with many branches. With great speed, he arrived at the top and hid among the branches.
Charlotte was on the ground. She only had 10 of her 30 bullets left. But it didn't matter as long as she could take down Brick.
The e-gamer didn't expect him to be such a high-level challenge. That was a miscalculation on her part. But now that she revealed her skill level to him, there was no way she could let him escape. After all, the next encounter would be in his favor.
Then she heard a heavy hit on the woods, something fell to the ground making a lot of noise. A glitch? Or maybe a diversionary tactic? Or it could be a mistake from the soldier, and she was overthinking? There was nothing to lose from investigating it.
She walked stealthily until she found where the noise came from. There was nothing there except some broken branches and a big rock. It was probably a diversionary tactic. It meant that her opponent's intelligence score was high.
But not as high as her own. What anyone would do is investigate the place closer and try to guess where Brick was hiding. But the soldier was surely watching that place and aiming at it.
So the E-gamer began to run around the woods, trying to surround the soldier. When a small burst made her wince. From upwards, a rain of dark green paintballs fell over her. But luckily, it only painted her arm.
Brick sighed. The paintball guns were so different from a real weapon. They were light, and the wind destroyed his aim. He wasted another 6 bullets, and his position was compromised.
On the other hand, Charlotte smiled. This was really a high-level encounter. THIS was the reason she joined the show. She forgot her vendetta and was focused on her wish to beat him.
But sadly, the sound of shooting and the buzz in her bracelet signaled the end of her fight.
From behind her, camouflaged in the foliage, Mike shot her with cold precision, put a black spot in the middle of her back, and then shooted a 12 bullet barrage at Brick. Watching the soldier fall from the tree and hearing him hitting the ground with a loud thump.
"YOU CHEATER!" shouted Charlotte, glaring at the guy with spiky hair. "I almost got him."
Mike made a gesture of tipping an invisible hat. "Sorry Sheila, better luck next time." And then began to run to the other side of the forest.
The E-gamer stomped her foot on the ground. She hated to admit it, but Mike was right. She got overconfident.
In the same instant, Mike rushed to find Brick. He had to take advantage of his falling. No, no, no, no, he needed to make sure Brick wasn't hurt first and then shoot him out of the game.
But when the former multiple Mike reached the place, Brick wasn't there. There were broken branches and a heavy stone, but no signs of the cadet.
Mike realized too late what happened, but then he was bathed in dark green paint from Brick shoots, the buzz announcing Mike was out of the game. The cadet was smiling widely from a branch of the tree.
"Sorry, my friend, but this time is my win," announced Brick, jumping to the ground.
Mike sighed, his frown and smug smile disappearing. "Hehehe, it seems like it. But tell me, how did you recover so fast from the fall? It sounded like a nasty hit."
"Sorry to deceive you. I didn't really fall from the tree. It was this rock. I used it as a decoy, and I stopped my fall by holding onto these branches," said Brick, looking at the ground.
"You don't need to apologize for anything," said Mike, shaking his hand. "You did an awesome job and deserve to win. Good luck with the rest of the opponents."
Brick saluted, and Mike saluted back before both went their different ways. Brick took what remained of Mike and Charlotte's magazines, but he still only had 18 paintballs. He hoped there were more than enough to take on the next opponent.
Confessional: Mike.
"It was a shame. But I think both Charlotte and I learned that you can't underestimate Brick in this kind of challenge. I was sure I got him with that surprise attack. I had known better. I would prioritize him over Charlotte. Lesson learned, I just hope to survive this elimination to make this lesson useful." Said Mike smiling sheepishly and rubbing his arm.
Sammy felt dizzy, her body felt heavy, and she was wet. Was it some kind of joke? Did Amy splash her with water while she was sleeping? That was a new one.
Then she remembered. Yes, it was Amy's fault, but they weren't at home. She was in a challenge and she jumped into the river to escape her sister. But the younger twin underestimated the current and was too tired when she swam out of the river, and she blacked out.
And now she was being carried? Sammy instinctively struggled a little, startled by her current situation.
"Oh, you're awake. I'm glad," said the carrier. After that, they put her down next to a tree.
Sammy looked at them with wide eyes and blushing. "Topher?"
"Yep. The one and only Topher, at your service," said the host wannabe, making a small bow. He made an effort to hide how tired he was from carrying her.
"Why did you save me?" asked Sammy in a blunt tone. "Sorry, that sounded ungrateful. I mean, thanks for helping me, but why?"
He looked at his side, grooming his hair with one hand. "I found you unconscious near the river, and our bracelets were blinking red. So I carried you outside the red area, so you weren't eliminated. I'm sorry, but I couldn't find your rifle."
Then all came back to her. The discussion with Amy, their fight, and her escape jumping into the river, losing her rifle on the way.
"But you could just shoot me or leave me to lose. You didn't win anything carrying me," said Sammy putting a hand on her chest.
Topher just shrugged. "Maybe, but it was unfair. And Chris said that there was a chance to win 3 immunities. So if you're still in the game, there is still an opportunity to win."
"But without my gun, I'll be only a burden. And we can't use the guns from the ones we defeat," replied Sammy in a concerned tone, looking sadly at the ground.
"That's true, but we can find another weapon in one of the containers on the island. Or maybe Chris can reactivate one of our defeated opponents' guns for you. Either way, it's too soon to give up," Topher gave her a thumbs up and smiled charmingly.
Sammy chuckled, "This is the second time you saved me in a challenge. If we keep doing this, I'll have to give you a share of my million."
"Hey! you saved me first from that dungeon, remember?" said the host wannabe. Then he blushed and looked away from her. "And you being safe is enough reward for me."
Sammy also blushed and looked away from him. And then stood up quickly, trying to change the subject.
"T-Then let's go. We n-need to find one of those containers as soon as we can," said the younger twin while trying to sound confident, even if she was too flustered.
Both began to advance through the woods. There were other campers in the area, nor signs of fights along the way.
"How many people were eliminated since I fell unconscious?" asked Sammy, watching left and right for a possible ambush.
Topher stopped to look back, but there was nobody there. "Four, which means there are still at least 7 more players in the game."
Four? It means maybe Amy is already out of the game. Right? Thought Sammy, who wanted to get revenge on her sister, but it seemed it wouldn't be possible. With 4 out, there was 1 in 3 that she was out.
The younger twin was so immersed in her thoughts that she tripped and fell full face into the ground.
"Are you ok?" asked Topher running at her side.
Sammy rubbed her nose with a pained expression, "yes. I only hurt my nose and my pride, but I'm used to it."
"Hehe, if you can joke, then you're fine," said the host wannabe, not realizing it wasn't a joke. "But what happened? Did you stumble with a rock?"
Topher looked at the place where Sammy tripped, and under the leaves, found something unexpected.
"Look, Sammy! A container," said Topher in an excited tone, trying to not be too loud.
Sammy helped him to dig out the container. "It's true. Lucky!"
They quickly took out the container and opened it, hoping inside was a weapon that Sammy could use.
And their hopes were answered.
"It's this a shotgun?" asked Sammy looking at the paint gun she just found.
"Yes, it means it has a mean spread. I'm not an expert, but it should be better than the rifles if it was in a container," said Topher, winking. "Now we can work together to win this challenge."
Sammy looked at him, lowering her eyebrows. "If that is true, don't you want to use it? I'm fine using your rifle."
"No, remember my rifle will lock if I die. So it's better that you use the shotgun. Only be careful with the friendly fire," said Topher, blushing again. It wasn't the only reason he had to let her use the shotgun.
Sammy nodded and put two paintballs in the chamber of her weapon as both began to walk into the forest.
But none of them realized they were being followed.
Confessional: Lilly.
"It's just my luck. I don't find anyone, and when I do, it's Topher and Sammy in a team. There is no way I can beat both of them. So I decide to use Max… I mean MY strategy and follow them until they begin fighting someone else. Is that too mean?" asked the treehugger looking nervously at the camera.
Meanwhile, at another part of the woods, another 2 campers were working as a team.
"Look, Cody, the radar shows two people ahead," said Heather, narrowing her eyes in the direction of her opponents.
"Ok, then let's get ready. Maybe we can surprise and eliminate them before they realize we are there," said Cody, preparing his rifle.
After walking with her, Cody decided to trust Heather, at least for now. With two opponents, there was no way the Queen Bee would betray him. Would she?
Then the camera zoomed out, showing Cody and Heather on a screen. Looking at the screen was Chris making a wide smile.
"It seems that the campers are working hard this time. I almost feel like making this a reward challenge. Almost," said Chris chuckling.
Chef nodded. "These maggots have more backbone than I expected. Even then I think the cadet will win this one."
"That's weird. I didn't think you liked any of the campers," replied the host raising an eyebrow.
"I don't, but I can still express my opinion, and I think the cadet will win this one," said Chef nodding seriously.
"Really? ok let's bet 50 bucks he can't win this challenge," said Chris, making a smug smile.
The big man made an equally big smile, "This will be the easiest money I have earned in a long time."
"You wish," The host looked at his watch and then at the camera. "And the war is raging on! There are still 4 hours in the game and 9 campers left. Who will win and who will lose? And what they need to do to win the 3 immunities? Find out next time here in Total Drama, Tyranny of the masses."
Author Notes:
[1] C7 or Colt Canada C7 is the official assault rifle used by the Canadian forces. Of course, Brick would prefer a C7 over a M-16.

Bien jugado ? Well played
And the challenge is going on. Among the 9 remaining campers, who will win the immunities? Who will lose and be expelled from the island? And will Chef win his bet or not? Find out in the next episode of Total Drama Tyranny of the masses.
This chapter was a little different because I have to write a lot of players alone (at least for a moment), but I hope it was entertaining. Also, I wonder how man readers knew that Brick would shine in this challenge.
