I DO NOT OWN THE SELECTION SERIES. SHOUT OUT TO NIKT WANZY FOR CREATING THIS CHARACTER.
Schreave Palace. Province of Angeles. The next day.
Crown Princess Melody Schreave and Noah Addington spent the entire night making love. The morning after their brief escape from the palace, the two laid naked in her bed together, both spent and unified.
"That was...amazing!" Noah exclaimed as he ran his fingers over his lover's bare flesh.
"You're definitely the big man on campus." Melody joked as she snuggled up close and kissed him deeply. This got a chuckle out of the mechanic as he and the princess made out for a couple minutes.
"I should probably get going." Noah sighed as Melody planted kisses on his chest.
"Do you have to?" Melody asked with a whine.
"If your father is rigging the selection, we can't let him find us together." Noah insisted as he got out of the bed and proceeded to get dressed.
"I guess that's true." Melody sighed as she watched Noah finish dressing himself. He then went over and have her a good bye kiss.
"Don't worry, I'll come back tonight." He promised as he left the heir to the Illèan throne naked, under the covers, and blushing madly.
The honeymoon period came to an end when a royal guard came into the room of Princess Melody and informed her that the Queen herself has requested an audience with her. She did as she was told and went into her mother's chambers to find Queen Jessamine and Noah waiting for her.
"So, what are we doing here?" Melody asked nervously as the Queen motioned to a portable TV in The corner.
"Learning a lesson." She replied as she turned it on. To the mechanic and Princess's which and horror, footage of them having sexual intercourse showed up on the TV.
"Oh God!" Melody and Noah exclaimed at once and in fear as they were too afraid to be embarrassed that the Queen of Illèa was watching them have sex.
"There it is, the pilot episode for Illèan girls gone wild." Queen Jessa teased as she turned to the lovers who were panicking. "Aren't you two so great at that together?"
"That didn't mean anything!" Noah blurted out, earning a glance from Melody.
"Oh, I don't care that it didn't mean anything then. But it sure as hell means something now, doesn't it? " Jessamine snapped. "What it means is that you are going to drop out of the selection; no questions asked."
"And if I refuse?" Noah asked.
"I'm gonna take that footage, and I'm gonna walk outside and I'm gonna show it my husband who will bring the block in here and behead you himself." She insisted.
"Mom, come on!" Melody pleaded.
"Oh, you know I'll do it...and you..." Jessa said before striking her daughter across the face. "You're going to choose Lucrezia Bellincioni and then you will give me a wedding. I want an honest-to-God, ring-on-the-finger, blood-on-the-sheets ratings bonanza."
"And what if I say no?" Melody asked through gritted teeth.
"Then I leak the tape." Her mother replied. "In addition to Addington being executed, you'll be known as as the biggest slut in all of Illèa."
"You know what, go ahead." Noah said, earning an surprised look from both women. "Show it, I don't care. If I have to die, at least I'll know that I was loved not only by a princess, but by a beautiful woman inside and out."
"Except that... you don't want to brand sweet, little, old Melody with the label of slut, do you?" Noah was silent at this. He couldn't hurt Melody like that.
"You are a hateful, conniving bitch." Noah said with a quiet anger.
"Thank you." The Queen said with a smirk. "Now, go start packing." After Noah left, she turned to her daughter. "So, that is how you prove your undying love to crown and country, huh? Don't ever lie to me like that again.
"Mom, come on, I don't belong to you." Melody insisted.
"You don't belong to anyone, Melody." Queen Jessamine shot back. "That's the problem. You clearly need somebody with a strong hand to point you in the right direction."
"Oh, my God, who do you think you are?" the princess exclaimed.
"Me?"
"Yeah, you! Who do you think you are?"
"Who do you think you are?" Jessamine asked in return. "I mean, judging from this tape, you seem more like one of our self-absorbed, brainwashed selected than a royal who knows how to get what they want...you're dismissed." Melody shed tears as she hurried out of her mother's chambers.
Later that evening.
Princess Melody was crying in the rose garden for herself when she felt a hand on her shoulder. She was relieved to see that it was Noah. The two shared a passionate kiss as he sat next to her.
"We're screwed, aren't we?" Noah asked in despair.
"Pretty much, unless you want my mom to talk." Melody replied with equal despair.
"No, I'm not gonna do that to you." Noah insisted. "Not if you really want to be with Romeo or Lucrezia."
"Oh, my God, they deserve a lot better than me." she insisted. "I don't want to be a queen, all I ever wanted was to be a normal girl, maybe even a housewife."
"That's your problem, right there." he declared. "You don't believe that you deserve better, but you do. You deserve everything."
"Why is everybody telling me what my problem is today?" the princess asked in frustration.
"Cause you clearly have one...or many." the mechanic replied. "Melody, I am tired. I am tired of pretending that I can play by their rules. You're the one that I want. If you want to marry Romeo or Lucrezia, that's fine by me, as long as you don't go running off with one of them because they are the only people who asked. I'm asking."
"What...what are you asking me?" Melody asked as she looked into his eyes.
"Run away with me, tonight." Noah asked. "We can take a plane back to Midston. I can't promise you a life as glamorous as this one, but I can promise you is that it can be normal and we can have a family. You can forget royalty...and let it all go."
"I'll have to abdicate the throne, my parents will be furious." Melody replied as Noah held her close. "What are they gonna do? They gonna arrest us? They gonna call the tabloids? Honestly, I don't care, as long as I'm with you. Please Melody...say you'll marry me?" Melody looked at Noah and gave him the only answer she could.
"Yes."
