Chapter 45-A Leader

Luna walks into the room Lexa was given and looks at the commander who was sitting on the bed. "This bed is hard as a rock," Lexa says. "Our beds must have felt like feathers for them," Lexa says. Luna nods.

"I am sharing a room with Anya, and she complained about the same thing," Luna says to her friend.

"Is there something you need?" Lexa asks.

"I couldn't just have come in here to talk to my dear friend," Luna says.

"What it is, Luna?" Lexa asks.

"Before I answer, why aren't you with Clarke?" Luna asks.

"We are still hiding it, and we'll sneak around," Lexa says.

"Bunch of teenagers. When we were walking to the dropship, Billy said he was being trained by Anya, and so is Tris. She has two students," Luna says.

"Yes," Lexa says.

"And that might be a lot of weight on her shoulders with the war coming," Luna says.

"Spit it out, Luna," Lexa says.

"I want Billy to become my second," Luna says. Lexa looks at her for a second and then nods.

"Have you talked to Anya about this?" Lexa asks.

"I was going to after we talked," Luna says.

"I think it is a good idea. You and I are the best fighters our people can offer. But you need to talk to Anya," Lexa says. Luna nods.

"Thanks, Lexa," Luna says. She leaves the room and walks back to the room she and Anya were sharing. She walks inside and sees Anya lying down.

"This will take some getting use to," Anya says.

"It will, Anya," Luna says. Anya looks at the clan leader. "I want Billy to become my second," Luna says. "As he is your student, I want your permission," Luna says. Anya looks her in the eyes and nods.

"You have it, Tris will need to be prepared for the war, and I cannot train them both," Anya says. Luna nods as she sits in a chair. Clarke sat in a small room when Jake walked in.

"Come on," Jake says. Clarke stands and looks at him.

"Where are we going?" Clarke asks.

"It's a surprise," Jake says before he leaves. Clarke follows her dad through the halls until the stop in front of Lexa's door. "This is your new room," Jake says.

"This is Lexa's," Clarke says. Jake nods as he opens the door. Lexa looks up at them as they walk in.

"Clarke, Jake," Lexa says as she stands up.

"I think he knows Lexa," Clarke says as Jake shuts the door.

"You didn't hide it very well on the way to the dropship. I don't think Abby has figured it out yet," Jake says.

"Dad, this is supposed to be a secret," Clarke says.

"And I understand why and I won't say anything. I just wanted to meet my daughter's girlfriend," Jake says as he looks at Lexa. He holds out his hand. "Jake Griffin," Jake says to Lexa, who shakes his hand.

"Lexa Kom Trikru," Lexa says. Jake nods as he lets her hand go.

"If you hurt her. I'll kill you," Jake says.

"I'll give you the sword to do it," Lexa says.

"Okay, dad, you go find mom," Clarke says as she leads her father out of the room. She shuts the door and looks at Lexa, and smiles.

"We should find, Billy," Lexa says. She nods. Billy walks through the halls with Bellamy, Wells, and Murphy. He walks outside where Kane was standing. Everybody was walking around.

"They need to build a wall or fence," Wells says.

"You're the leader," Kane says to Billy, who nods.

"Hey, everybody," Billy says. The people look at him. "We need to start cutting down trees and making a wall and a fence," Billy says.

"And who makes you the boss?" One of the guards asks.

"I know the ground, and I know how to survive. Jaha doesn't know what he is doing," Billy says to the guard, who slowly nods. "If you have a gun, walk around Alpha station. You do not fire unless you know the person is hostile. I do not want an innocent grounder to die. Everybody clear?" Billy asks. They all nod as Raven comes over, and Billy looks at her.

"Where are the others?" Billy asks his girlfriend.

"Getting ready for the meeting," Raven says. Billy nods as he watches the people and starts to help. They had an issue with a man with a gun, but now only the guard had guns. The others were helping the people when Lexa and Anya came out.

"Jaha said it was about time we all talked. He was very rude. I almost killed him," Lexa says. Billy nods as he motions for his friends to follow him inside. They walked into a small room where there were chairs, and Jaha, Jake, and Abby were waiting. Billy, Lexa, Anya, Luna, Atom, Claire, Gustus, Kane, Callie, Raven, Bellamy, Wells, Murphy, Roan, Harper, Emma, and Clarke sit down. The kids were with Jackson. Jaha looks at them all.

"We have a lot to talk about," Jaha says.

"We do," Billy says as he looks at the man.

Mount Weather

Miller and Roy were sitting on the bed with the map when Jasper came over. He looks at it. "It's not bad. Maybe they'll hang it on the walls here one day," Jasper says. Roy and Miller look at Maya as she comes in and holds out a bottle to Miller, who grabs it.

"We let you out too early. I forgot to give you these. Two a day," Maya says to Miller, who nods. They watch as she talks to Jasper. They hear alarms. Miller and Roy jump down in front of Maya as she tries to leave.

"Hey, what's going on?" Roy asks.

"That signal means a surface patrol is back, and someone needs medical attention. I have to go to quarantine," Maya says as she leaves. Roy and Miller start to follow.

"Hey, what are you doing?" Jasper asks.

"Maybe they found the others. If our people are hurt, we have the right to know," Miller says.

"Pretty sure we shouldn't go wandering around," Jasper says. The other two leave. They run through the halls. They see Maya talking to a man. They walk pass them.

"Who attacked them?" Roy asks.

"What are they doing here?" The man asks. Roy grabs a key card from a man. "Hey, it's not safe," The man says.

"It is for us," Miller says as they go to the door. Roy, Jasper, and Miller go into the room.

"Slow down," Jasper says as they head for a room. They see the body. "These people are-," Jasper says.

"Lying to us," Miller says. "That's a bullet wound," Miller points out.

"Grounders don't use guns. Not Azgeda and Trikru don't either," Roy says.

"Maybe they changed sides or got guns from us," Jasper says.

"No, I don't think so," Miller says. "I think our people are alive out there," Miller says. The doctor comes in.

"Get them out," She says. They bring in a man covered in blood. They leave the room. They walk into the cafeteria a little bit later. Roy and Miller walk over to Dante.

"We need to talk," Roy says.

"Sure. Let's talk over breakfast," Dante says.

"Who shot that soldier?" Miller asks. Dante pulls them away.

"The patrol that was looking for your people was attacked by what you call grounders," Dante says.

"They don't use guns," Miller says.

"I never mentioned guns. Sergeant Shaw was shot by an arrow," Dante says.

"That's not true. We saw the wound," Miller says.

"Sometimes we feel so strongly about our people we see things that aren't there," Dante says.

"We'd like to see the body," Roy says.

"Of course," Dante says. He sets his food down and leads them away.

Alpha station

"How is Miles?" Murphy asks.

"He'll live," Abby says.

"After this, we need to deal with Finn's body," Murphy says. Billy nods.

"Let's talk about that first. You said you killed him because he killed a grounder guard. Why was he locked up in the first place?" Jaha asks.

"He broke into the capital. I should have had him killed them, but I did not. My people follow a saying. Jus drien jus daun," Lexa says.

"And that means?" Kane asks.

"Blood must have blood," Raven says.

"He had to die, or it would have risked everything. The truce everything we worked for. Finn had to die, and he knew that too," Billy says to Jaha.

"And who gives you the right to decide that?" Jaha says.

"Who gave you the right to float my parents?" Billy asks Jaha in a harsh tone.

"Your parents broke the law," Jaha says.

"Finn murdered someone. So he did too if that helps you sleep at night," Clarke says.

"We came here to talk about something else," Lexa says to them.

"We made a truce on that bridge that Murphy said you would agree to," Anya says.

"He should not have done that," Jaha says. "Answer me this where are those kids?" Jaha asks.

"Mount Weather," Billy says.

"What?" Bellamy asks.

"There are people in Mount Weather, and they took them," Clarke says.

"That's why you speared Jasper," Harper says.

"Yes," Gustus says.

"What if we set up a vote?" Kane asks.

"Let the people choose?" Atom asks. Kane nods.

"I can have Jackson and Sinclair with a piece of paper and pencils in an half an hour," Kane says.

"That works for me," Jaha says. Billy shakes his head.

"Fuck being chancellor. We let them pick a leader, and that's it. I don't control who lives and dies," Billy says. "You said you want what is best for the people, right?" Billy asks Jaha, who nods. "Then this is it. Lexa wants me to lead, and if I do, we have thousands of fighters to help us. This is what is best after if you want, we can hold a vote," Billy says to Jaha, who looks at him for a moment and nods. He takes off the pin and sets it on the table.

"Be right," Jaha says. Billy grabs the pin and puts it on. Jaha leaves the room, and they follow him outside. "Everybody," Jaha says. They all look at him. "I have stepped down as chancellor. For the sake of our children and our people, Billy will be leading the people," Jaha says.

"Then where are the kids?" Major Byrne asks.

"Mount Weather took the kids. The people there are dangerous and can not be trusted," Roan says.

"How do we help them then?" Sinclair asks.

"We wait," Billy says.

"Wait?" Lexa asks.

"We have people in there, and we have to wait for Lexa's army. For now, we gather the people around us," Billy says.

"You're putting all your hope in them?" Claire asks.

"I'm putting my hope in the hundred into Roy. I know he'll come back, and when he does, we'll have a man who knows Mount Weather," Billy says.

"How long do we give them?" Major Byrne asks.

"3 days. If nobody comes, we'll figure something out," Billy says. The people slowly nod as Billy walks back into Alpha station. Lexa follows.

"This is a bad idea. We should be preparing now. Not waiting," Lexa says. Billy looks at her.

"I didn't tell you how to lead your people. Let me lead mine, Lexa. I have a plan, and more of my people are out there," Billy says to Lexa, who slowly nods. Billy walks out to Murphy, Bellamy, and motions Major Byrne over.

"Sir," She says.

"No, sir. It's Billy," He says to her. She nods. "You three are in charge of guns. Bellamy and Murphy know the hundred better, and you know the guard," Billy says.

"What about Octavia?" Bellamy asks.

"We'll leave soon," Billy tells Bellamy, who nods. They nod as Billy walks into Alpha station and into a workshop Raven was working in. He sits down by her, and she looks at him.

"You okay?" She asks.

"I will be. What are you doing?" Billy asks.

"Sorting bullets. Mia is grabbing some from Kane, who found more in the bunker. Luna told me to tell you she was looking for you," Raven says. Billy nods as he kisses Raven before he leaves to find Luna.

Thanks for reading. I know Miller came out a little after the rest but who cares. This will not be the end of this leader clash, and really, it is just getting started. This is beginning to change from the show, and I like that, and it keeps part of the show. As always, suggestions, feedback, and ideas are welcomed. Until next time.
