Chapter 45: The Rebels Attack
"Name's, Serena," She didn't mind giving out her name, "And my daughter here, her name is, Ava."
"Wait, what?!" No one else had caught on as fast as Volteer and Ersa had, and they were beyond floored to hear what the two had to say.
"What what?" Malefor asked as many also wondered.
"Do you all not remember what Amara spoke about yesterday?" Volteer asked the group, and upon him saying, the four at the front entrance showed teeth.
"The Rebels are led by a leader: a green female of secondary power: poison. She has a daughter who she uses as a weapon. And just as she had said before, they've never had luck in communications, only ever being met with arms and death," Ersa summed it up, now getting everyone defensive against what the next move of either of the groups would be, "That would make Serena the leader, and Ava the weapon. They're the Rebels!"
Having said this now, the air grew heavy for many, seeing now the true threat and nature of the enemy they were up against. Who they saw was a ruthless, manipulative abuser, and they all remembered crystal clear now who this was. Everyone was ready for a fight and tensions were behind high for all. The men stood at the forefront of their females, and while Flair and Claire didn't need help, it was still welcomed. Malefor kept his movements slow and steady, keeping his eyes on the enemy at all times on his approach to Carith. Stood to her front now, his wings opened to block her in protection. After all was said and done, Serena used this fear to her advantage, "Now I hope it comes to no surprise what we will do; what we won't hesitate to do. Either wake the purple dragon, or I'll have my men do it."
"And what is it that you want him for?" Malefor asked, trying to stay calm under pressure, knowing as of now, he was in a bad spot, "If you're also looking to bang him, he isn't interested."
"Alright, I've had enough of this already," Snapping her fingers, the two dark dragon guards readied their weapons outwards, preparing their attacks and the others a defense, "I'll say it one more time! Wake him, or I will!"
"Wait-wait-wait-wait-wait-wait-wait!" Ersa, attempting to be the voice of reason, put herself out there, "Time out. Listen... Serena... we kinda, somehow, already knew you were going to be here, or at the very least, that something bad was to happen today. The last thing we want is conflict, and where Malefor isn't good with people skills, hopefully I can be of assistance," Serena showed teeth, in almost no mood to hear what she had to say, "We can wake them. But if it's okay in me asking instead, we just want to make sure you won't harm them. So I have to ask: what do you intend to do? Are you wanting to poison him and turn him against the world? Or bring harm to, Cynder?"
"What we have planned and what we wish to do is none of your concern," Serena didn't budge, "Sit back and sit still before you get hurt. We know you as the mate of the yellow Guardian, and it'd be a shame if your steps end the life of you, or your pregnancy in the future."
"It'd be a shame if you not knowing when to shut up would be the end of you, or your daughter, considering now my blue lightning could burst the nerves inside your body and blow out your brain," Volteer grew very defensive of his mate, showing no remorse in what he had said.
"Volteer, easy!" Ersa was thankful for the show of love, but this didn't help situations.
"Do you think yourself brave, or stupid?" Serena spat, "Sit your ass down before we make you!"
"I'd love to see you try," Terrador didn't mind a fight, "You're about to kick one hell of a hornets nest, and where hornets sting, so will the wounds you'll endure."
"I've trained far beyond what any of you could even imagine. One hit of my poison, and your scales would dissolve in mere seconds. Same for your bones," Poison showed in her mouth for all to see, digging deep to their brains: she was serious when it came to her threats, "I'd rather not melt the Guardians into a pool of acid, but if I need to make a statement, I will. You think yourself to be tough? Sure. But how tough could someone be with the loss of an arm or a leg? Good luck getting that back with red gems."
"You'd be surprised at the power we have around here," Catching her attention, Malefor knew her threats were meaningless, "I'm not going to lie, your threats scare me," A smile showed to her lips, however, she didn't let him finish with the full story, "Acid melts like fire, and if you burn anyone here; attack anyone in the ways you're describing, what Spyro will do back to you will forever haunt my nightmares," She shivered to this, and it didn't help with the detail he went into, "Spyro has the power to kill someone, and know the point to bring them back. You burn through our scales with your acid, and I wouldn't be surprised if his thumbs burned through your eyes and reshaped them into molten magma."
Giving a slightly nervous chuckle, still nothing was enough to really turn things around for either side, both playing mind games with one another until someone were to crack, "It's amazing how you think I care. Considering the fact you love someone, imagine how funny it'd be if I melted her chest, or her face. Sure I'd die afterwards from your attacks, but the pain I caused her, she'll live with it for the rest of her life, and she'll see you as a failure for not protecting her. You'll see yourself as a failure. So tell me," Bringing poison to the tip of her tongue, Malefor readied himself, fully extending his wings, and stretching out his arms and legs, "Who will take this hit from my poison? You, or her?"
Malefor's heart raced, as did any other, considering this was someone else who didn't seem to be listening to reason. Trying to get to the bottom of what was wrong was hard enough, but now they had to deal with the threats on top of it. Malefor felt no fear in taking the shot to his heart if need be; keeping himself fully in front of Carith. Every second or so, he looked behind himself, making sure his blue female was completely blocked from any attack. He knew there was no way to act, and he thought on it, Everyone else in the family isn't as fast as me. If I leave Carith's side, they could easily hurt her. And with me rushing in and them doing so too at the same time, that leaves us vulnerable. That leaves her vulnerable. So what do I do?! Breaking free from all forms and matters of stress, surprisingly, just the sounds of stirring alone cut the heavy weighted feeling for all. The stir, came from Spyro, readjusting the way he was sleeping and causing a stir from Cynder as well. The tension was gone, and all dropped their guard. Ersa had noticed it like Volteer. Even for Serena, who was making all the threats, her eyes completely focused to Spyro, dropping her guard entirely and basically allowing Malefor a free pick. She didn't say anything, and instead acted in surprise with everyone else. Taking his time to do as he pleased, Spyro's body laid flat on its stomach. Stretching his paws out wide and far, his mouth opened wide in a powerful yawn. His constant movement woke Cynder the same. With her body laid to its left side, she was able to stretch fully: arms, legs, and even her right wing. Because of the way the two were moving, Spyro woke himself now. His opened eyes directed down to Cynder first, and with her waking the same, she smiled, still acting like she was asleep, "Hey... Cynder..." His voice was soft, tender, and comforted her in a way that showed goosebumps to her scales, "Better wake up before I act up. It's good to know you're always looking like an angel, but I want to see those scales sparkle."
"You looking to go outside or something?" She still laid, wanting to get any and all sleep that she could.
"Hehe, not exactly. Though I'm sure you can choose. Will the sparkling come from the sun's light, or my tongue: when my saliva drips down and wets each and every individual scale?"
"That's not really a choice considering your tongue touching me will always be my go to, whether that be outside, or in~."
"And what about getting your claws dirty on some blood?"
Now, after hearing this, Cynder's eyes opened, and her head turned up to face him, "I'm listening."
"Let's see."
Standing up tall and proud now, Spyro's figure was beyond anything the four to the entrance could've ever imagined. Standing near feet away gave them the closest view imaginable. His muscles spoke for himself, his smile shined in a cocky yet helpful manner, and from just his colors alone, it added hope for all. It was everything and more anyone could hope for when needing a hero: a true light in the dark when evil seemed to rise. The Guards widened their eyes to truly see the purple dragon now, same went for the other two females. Though where being on his side was comforting, being not so sounded like a real life nightmare, and Spyro drilled that fact into the fours minds, "Serena, was it? The leader of the Rebels?" She was in shock on how he knew this, especially since he was asleep along with Cynder, "I've been told some awful things about you, and where I had an idea, a mission, to bring you in to Amara, you came right to my doorstep. Thanks for making your capture so easy for me."
"Wa-wa-wa-wait!" Suddenly, and in a massive shift of pace and tone, Serena abruptly changed, as if she was playing the victim now under these new developments, "Please, Spyro, hear us out!"
"Hehe, naw. No thanks," Spyro was in no mood to deal with this group of Rebels, taking his time in helping Cynder up with the use of a wing and a paw, "Thought you were slick by saying such things when I was sleeping? See, my mind is always working. For what I don't see or don't know, trust me when I say, someone else does. And those that do will always tell me what's going on. So where I was resting, the information just kept flowing thanks to some amazing friends of mine."
"Spyro! Please! I-!" Her best wasn't enough.
"No no no no no, shhhhhhhhh," At this point, it was like he was toying with her, and it was for good reason too, "Let's see. You come in here threatening those who want to help: Volteer, his mate, Malefor, Carith, just about everyone. And how nice of you to be so descriptive. Funny thing is that my lover here 'also' has poison. So where your threats and your voice have no meaning or value... mine do," Spyro let his teeth show, allowing the darkness to slither out from his muscles and eyes to show just how pissed off he was, "You threaten a soon to be pregnant woman who tried to help you. The way you threatened Carith, I was honestly surprised Malefor didn't gut you. But that's simply because you put him in a lose-lose situation, and there's nothing I hate more than those who use their power for malice."
"I NEEDED TO MAKE A STANCE!" The shivers, sweats, and near loss of power or threatening ways showed to all, but no one knew if this was real or not, "You can't trust anyone nowadays! You've been put into situations before, like with the hatchling! Showing weakness, people abuse that! I wanted to show power; dominance over my opponent before they tried to manipulate me!"
All the while this was happening, an effort was made to continue the torture they were to soon experience. Holding a finger to her chest, Spyro noticed Cynder sat there, taking a breath and preparing herself for who she was to become. Spyro gave her a kiss to the lips; short, but effective. Giving some final words before the transformation, she whispered, "I love you..."
He smiled to her, "I love you, too," Dragging his finger up her chest, the darkness within her leaked out, going past all her colors and consuming her in darkness, "Let's work together on this, my little shadow."
As if Spyro's darkness wasn't already enough to send the hearts of many into a fit of panic, the two had practiced behind the scenes when it came to their dark power. While still needing help and unable to do it on her own, the darkness turned Cynder into her Terror Form. This was the tipping point for the four, and now seeing her tall, deadly, sharpened, and shining figure; the arms and legs for the four Rebels shivered in weakness. The final nail in the coffin was how Cynder looked at them. At first, she seemed calm. Her eyes stayed close, her body touched Spyro's, and all saw a tamed creature. But once her eyes opened, her head snapped over to look at the four at the entrance. Her eyes still shined green, but so did her original Terror Form back in the day, showing no stone left unturned in her transformation into the manifestation of horror. The four took steps back from this soon to be advancement, nearly falling down in a feeling of trepidation. Spyro never felt better when seeing what he and his lover could accomplish. Standing side by side now, off from the wall and more to the middle of the Chambers, he tried to keep it between the two, "You know... this whole, Terror Form team up between me and you beyond makes me sweat. You look so deadly, and at any point, you could dominate and take anything you'd want from me~."
"Focus up before I put your back to the wall and my tongue down your throat," Her now emerald green eyes compared to white, her adult sized body, and pretty much everything about her made Spyro drool in anticipation, "You piss me off when it comes to your, hormonal, self. Give me the idea of dominating you one more time, and here soon, the world will be populated with just our future."
"PLEASE! WAIT!" Serena, now down as low as she could go with her back-end to the air, she pleaded for an understanding, "I'm sorry for everything I said! I'm sorry for being so rude to all of you! I just... I need your help, Spyro! Please! I'm begging you!" The two stood there for a second, hearing out what she had to say, and she hoped they'd understand, "We know we aren't looked at well, and we know Amara or Axel probably told you what we've done, but THAT'S ALL A LIE!" Dripping tears to the floor, any power that was made shown before this was all but gone, "Without you... we will die. Spyro... you, are our only hope for survival... Without you, we will surely fade. My husband... will be executed... and it will have been all my fault..."
Ava, trying to show support over her mother, rubbed her back in understanding to know the situation they were in was life or death. It was all up to Spyro's decision on whether he'd help or not, and that wasn't just made clear to the four. The family all realized it, and where some believed they were being made a fool of, sympathy still showed from many around. Constant pleas and sad cries continued from Serena. She never raised her head, never made any attempts to show her as a threat now, and all she could do was murmur, "Please... please, Spyro..."
They knew and hoped Spyro would make the right decision in this, or at the very least would hear her out. However, he had other plans, and he put the fear of god inside their souls, "Cynder, apprehend the wind female. If the guard tries anything, take him out too. I'll deal with the capture ofSerena."
"WHAT!" Everyone cried, including those in the family, unable to process his motive.
"NO! DON'T HURT-UGH!"
Spyro was quick in his movements. His disappearance and reappearance put him right at the head of Serena, to which he pushed down on with his paw, keeping her immobile from doing anything of the sort. Ava, being afraid all together and with nothing to do, cried for her mother, "MOM! NO!"
Cynder did as she was instructed. Dashing ahead and elbowing the guard in the side of the face to knock him down on his ass; trying to keep some breathing room, she was freely able to go for Ava. Showing no mercy or remorse, Cynder's left arm slammed to Ava's neck, pushing her up against the back wall and pinning her to it. With how they were angled, easy support was given to Cynder at a diagonal angle, supporting her body weight thanks to the wall, but mainly from Ava's neck. For Ava however, she stood to her feet: back against the wall and with no way out. Tears ran down her face to see what was happening: how quickly things jumped from zero to one hundred. Her voice was muffled with Cynder's now right paw covering her mouth, and where she looked to her mother in tearful eyes, this only made things worse to see her down on the floor at the complete mercy of Spyro, "Muuuuuuum! " Trying her best to wiggle free, her voice was heard more clearly from time to time, "PLEASE! Douuuum't...! DON'T DO THIS! HMPH! I'M... I'M BEGGING YOU!"
"Ava, shut up and calm down," Being in her Terror Form, it helped Cynder little in trying to ease what basically seemed like a scared hatchling at this point, "Look at me-LOOK AT ME!" Ava still struggled for a little bit, trying to avoid eye contact or to kick at all possible, but once blurred eyes of pain were met with her green ones, a helpful voice was given, "I know you're scared, but you need to breathe. Right now there's a sleeping giant, the Dark Master, resting inside of Malefor. We made a deal that if no cries were to be heard from us, he wouldn't come out to kill, and I'd rather not have that apply to you as well."
Ava's breathing was beyond heavy. At this point, she was sucking on the palm of Cynder, trying at all possible to see light at the end of this dark tunnel. The shadow dragon had made it back to its fours, and where it readied its weapon to attack, Cynder already noticed. immediately, Ava's paw broke from Cynder's grip, no longer focusing on trying to get her paw off her mouth. Now, it focused to the guard, and she command him to stop in a way by holding her paw out; signifying a stop sign. He was hesitant, but who couldn't be at a time like this. Ava made her trust shown, and the two locked eyes once again.
"Answer some questions in a head shake. Play nice, and I'll let you go," Ava understood Cynder's request by giving her a very, very slow, and very hesitant nod, trying to control her bouncing body from the severe jumps in heart beats, "Are you here to harm us?" Her head moved slow, easing going in the show of her answer, shaking her head in a 'no', "Are the Rebels really the bad guys?" Once again, her head was slow, keeping calm under pressure, moving left to right in another 'no', "Then it seems we can negotiate. However, you have that one rule to follow. When I let you go, do not scream. I know it's scary to trust someone new and under these circumstances, but believe me when I say: you'll never go wrong in trusting Spyro."
Giving a nod this time around, Ava showed her understanding. Going nice, slow, and easy, Cynder helped Ava down from the wall, trying at all possible to ease this pain and adrenalin that she was facing right now. Now free from Cynder's grasp, her vision immediately went back to her mother. Once again seeing her head down to the floor like it was being stepped on slammed her heart to her chest, setting off all kinds of danger signals that told her to scream or help, What do I do-what do I do-what do I do?! Do I believe her?! Do I trust them?! But then again, either way, we're dead! Trusting them could get us killed, but not doing so would have the same outcome! We... we shouldn't have come here! We... we need to run! WE NEED TO RUN! The shadow dragon nearest to Spyro made his voice boom in his own efforts, "Spyro, please, we're not your enemies!"
Looking at the shadow dragon in the full set of armor and weapons, Spyro saw a different story, "Nice set of gear you got there. Where your words say one thing, my vision tells me another."
The dark dragon growled, and where he knew it was a long shot, he didn't care. Throwing his weapon off to the side, he proceeded to strip down completely. He tossed the head gear, chest guard, wing attachments, shoulder guards, rump guards, and tail protections all off to the side. Now completely exposed and showing his fleshy and scaly body, his wings opened wide in hopes this meant something, "THERE! To hell with the armor and weapons! We only brought that here if this turned into a suicide mission!"
"What?" Hearing the confusion in Spyro's voice, the four all had hope now.
"We only came here to talk! The armor and weapons were to fight off and defend Ava and Serena in their leave, even at the cost of our own lives! They were against it, but we volunteered, so don't go thinking she wants to throw our lives away!"
No one from the group of four showed no hearts. Each jumped, sweat, or showed tears, clearly being distinguished from their fears. Even for those in the back, when it came to the family, they all had their ideas. Flair especially thought about it long and hard, Spyro most be testing them to make sure their emotions are genuine. He would never do such a thing out of the blue unless he knew he had to. Scanning around for a sign to help her sigh, it was actually thanks to Spyro's paw that held down Serena's head that helped her. He isn't putting any pressure at all on her head, which means at this point, it's all a scare tactic. He knows what he's doing, and even Cynder knows that. So right now, it's all but a show for us spectators. Still skeptical on whether he was being told the truth or not, Spyro had some questions, "I don't appreciate being lied to."
"WE'RE NOT-!"
"Shut up," It didn't take Spyro yelling to send chills through everyone's spine, just his voice alone, "Serena. Yesterday when it came to Amara's visit, the amount of back and forth and uselessness of it all was rather annoying to me. I'll tell you this as I told her: if you're after my heart, if you're looking to be my mate, stop trying. I don't care what thoughts, or actions or, hypothetical futures you may have. I love who I choose and that will never change."
"Wait, you... you really declined Amara's offer... to be her mate?!" Serena had hope in her voice, and many heard the same, "Spyro, Spyro-please, listen to me! I'm not like her! I can negotiate! I'll admit it as you all can see it... I'm weak... desperate... and without many other options. Amara told you we were monsters, didn't she? Ask me any question and I swear on my life, my husband, and my daughter, I will give you the truth and only the truth."
"Is that so?"
"Spyro, you have shown countless times that you are a ray of hope for many. You've saved the world, you saved those who were otherwise lost for many, like Cynder. But most importantly, you have a heart not many show or possess from these dark times. We came to you knowing Amara bashed who we were and what we stood for, but that didn't stop us because we knew... you're truly a hero in our eyes," Her words didn't seem to be in shows of a joke: truly being met with tears, understanding, and in some cases, love, "Please... I'm sorry to you and your family. I knew we could trust you, I knew that for a fact! But I was afraid... scared of what others might do aside from you."
Still trying to keep up the act, Spyro continued his hardened nature, "You should still fear what I can do," No one had a clue to what this meant, but he made his actions known, "Right now, I have a ring of darkness around your heart that I transferred from my body. If I ask a question, and you have doubt, your heart skips a beat, or you don't know that answer and try giving me false information, that ring will ignite, and every single vein in your body will explode in a black fire."
"WHAT?!" Spyro's actions scared all, and all showed their displeasure.
"NO!" Ava knew she shouldn't have cried, but how could she not.
These fears were all too much for her, and it didn't help the look Cynder gave for her disobedience. For some reason, seeing the fear in her eyes; having sat idol for so long and witnessing what felt like torture for her even when not experiencing anything, Trish ran out from the back of the group, "Hold on!" Terrador was quick to follow behind, standing bedside his lover as the two stood to the entrance, and Trish gave her words of help, "Ava... it's... it's okay. I know you're scared but... there's no reason to be."
"How could I not be?!" She cried, feeling so weak to what's happening.
"Spyro... I'm... I'm sorry, but... there has to be another way," Unable to continue watching this constant test of endurance, Trish stood up for Spyro, "We always knew something wasn't right about Amara. I know what was said, about how Serena uses Ava as a weapon, but... surely you've noticed it by now, too," Spyro didn't want to admit it, but he already felt like trusting these four sooner than how he did with the other three, "You all are right about one thing: Spyro has one of the biggest hearts, next to my green Guardian and lover of course. But we're not here to harm any of you. As Ersa said, we had information from someone that something bad was to happen today, so we were all on edge. We just... we want this war to end, that's all. Loving who we are with and settling down is what we strive for, but it feels like there's always something else getting in the way."
Trish's approach seemed rather effective, more effective than that of what Spyro was trying to do. It worked too, and now Ava had the trust of this green female, "That's... all we want, too. But this constant back and forth war has put us all through hell."
"Hey... when you're here... that feeling; we all try to work together and rid of. You're here with a family now, and where Spyro may be a male, if you need to yell at him, you'll have our backing. He may be powerful, but Cynder will always be stronger than him. Try and get her on your good side, and you'll be set for life."
Bringing light on a rather dark situation, Ava found joy now in what was being spoken on. Her eyes directed to Cynder, and surprisingly, a smile was given to her, proving Trish's words to be true. Seeing such a different approach be taken, and for it to have so much effect, Spyro cut his losses and admitted he was wrong, "Ugh..." He gave a sigh, "You're right, Trish," Backing his paw off of Serena's head, she was surprised and looked up to him, and once again surprising her, he reached down a paw, "You're smart, Serena, and your tactic was what I wanted to do against you all," She smiled up to him, gladly accepting his help, "I tried to be nice when it came to Amara, but it felt like without a boom in my voice, nothing was going to get done. Also having gotten no sleep last night, which I'm not really complaining about, maybe it would've been better if I thought of something different."
"No..." She disagreed, "Your actions were valid..." Making sure to atone for what she had done, she looked to who she had wronged, "Ersa, was it? I'm... beyond disappointed in myself for what I said to you, for how I threatened you. That was uncalled for. And for you, Guardian Volteer: if you wish to hit me or scold me for what I said, I'll understand... Calling out your mate's pregnancy was below me..."
"Hit you?" Volteer questioned her saying.
"That won't be necessary," Ersa showed a smile to finally see them easing down and communicating, "If you truly feel bad and want to do something, feel good and show a smile. We like to keep things fun around here, and when it comes to frowns, that's a big no-no," Serena was happy to hear and see such hospitality, "It's a good thing that even she knows you'll knock me up sooner or later, Volteer~."
"You really think it hasn't happened already?" He chuckled.
"Hey!" Ignitus was always the one to break up the sexual tension, "We have guests!"
Serena couldn't help but giggle, same for Ava to see that their actions and words were real, never forced. Turning her head off to her right, Serena was able to look past Terrador and Trish's standing bodies, easily able to focus on Malefor and Carith. She wanted to make sure eye contact was made in order to give the most profound apology, "Malefor... Carith... for what I said and how I threatened you all as well... Those threats were... actually threats made to me at one point. The anger and fear I had and felt wasn't your faults... I just... was afraid of who you all were."
"I'm pretty much a simple joe," Carith giggled, "Just want to be taken by my purple dragon is all."
"And I'm a virgin," Malefor seemed to speak so easily on it to which confused the four, "It's very, 'hard', and Carith won't help."
"Of all things to say to a guest, you say that?!" Terrador was completely disgusted.
"What makes you think I was talking about my junk?!"
"You are now! You're unbelievably rude and unprofessional!"
"Unprofessional?! In what?! My skills in bed-Carith would agree, are unbelievably kind and very professional!"
"How can I agree if you won't have sex with me," She grumbled.
"Can you all please talk about anything else that isn't hormone driven?" Flair sighed, blushing even to see she was being embarrassed in front of guests by her family.
"You want another bite mark on your neck?" Cyril purred, whereas Flair's eyes widened in him saying, "No? Alright, fine. How about we do missionary tonight?"
"WE ARE NOT HAVING SEX!"
"Not yet that is."
"Serena, Ava, shadow dragons; this is my family. Family, these four," Spyro sighed in his introduction.
Serena and Ava actually smiled rather wide to see the fun everyone was having. Compared to what was happening a couple of seconds ago, it seemed like many were starting to already get accustomed to these new groups. Ava spoke with the three around her, Volteer continued his flirt with Ersa, Flair was grabbing Cyril by the horn, and with no real danger, Claire steadily and forcefully continued her assault to seduce Ignitus. Spyro was left with Serena, and where he could've joined in on the fun and calming nature, his voice kept low, "We're not done," The growl he gave stopped many, hearing he was serious when he had said this, "Axel, his squad mates: why did you kill them? Why was I told that you use your daughter as a weapon, that you're a threat to the living society of their city, that you ambush dragons just to kill them?! I want answers before I start playing nice."
All was fair in what he was asking for, and she understood that clearly, "Sorry... you're... you're right..." She didn't admit it, but joy was found to see her daughter smiling to those that she was around instead or fearing, "The whole... shit storm that was the ending of Axel's family... their deaths... weren't on us. You see, there's a second group out there who claim to be with us just to see us fall. They keep their acronym short, simple, and stupid. They call themselves: The Anti-Dragon Organization. Or A.D.O, for short. We had stolen some supplies from..."
"Stop," Already, Spyro had a problem, "You say stolen as if that's a good thing. Why are you Rebels even rebelling in the first place?"
"Because of what the City of Prosperity really is," It was an easy question for her to answer, and it grabbed his attention, "Where you might see joy, peaceful communities, and a thriving economy, that city is simply built off of graves and lies. I'm not talking about ideologies or religious beliefs clashing together to make one side separate from the other. I'm talking about real blood and riddled bones. I'm assuming Amara told you about what they do to bad dragons? Something or another about Death Row?"
Feeling still like she couldn't be trusted, Spyro's teeth showed, "If you're lying to me..."
"She's not!" Ava bravely spoke in her mother's defense, "Death Row is a real thing, and some even take pleasure in the idea of killing!"
Spyro didn't say anything to her, trying to keep his eyes on the prize for what he was after. After the interruption, Serena continued, "Death Row is what dragons get put on if deemed too dangerous to hold in a prison. These prisons force hard labor on those who do wrong in the world, and the way you're treated there is near close to a nightmare. Being put on Death Row, there's a couple ways for you to die. Either publicly by a firing squad, or secretly. Secretly, their methods become varied, and this usually happens to those who's deaths would cause an outcry if public."
"So they're not so much as prisons, but rather, concentration camps."
"Pretty much. The problem is how flawed their system truly is. Many innocents have died in a wrong place wrong time situation. There's been points where hatchlings have been caught in the crossfire as well."
"What do you mean?" Teeth were shown by Spyro.
"As I said, many are actually innocent. These deaths are sometimes public, and anyone could walk in the line of fire. Some have tried to protect those they love, but in the end, they only end up dying along with them. The higher ups bank off of deaths. They don't care what's really happening to their people. They're simply out for power and control, and we've noticed their stance when it comes to freedom and peace."
"They like the idea of war?"
"Considering we've noticed A.D.O getting more and more supplies every day, we don't know if they're smart, or have inside connections, but with every waking minute, were up to our ass in war. We've tried going in peaceful, we tried talking or negotiating, but..."
"You attack them."
"They attack us!" She made that clear, "More like... the A.D.O attacks us. Our private meetings keep getting leaked by a mole, and with so few numbers, you'd think we would've found who the leaker was. Here's the problem when it comes to a one sided story, Spyro. Who do you think looks like the bad guy: a group of dragons who so happen to be at the dead bodies of others and unscathed. Or a group of dragons who swooped in, killed, and ran before their existence was ever known? We were at those crime scenes, we aren't as fast or cunning as they are, and every day we're met with the same fate."
"So then what exactly happened with the Axel situation?"
"Considering peace talks were a no go, we had another idea: stock pile supplies in one area. Information would leak back to the City, soldiers would come after it, and once they arrived, we'd 'ambush' them, but in reality, we'd just have a peace talk. However... the men we sent were all killed before Axel and his team arrived. By the time we had arrived on the scene because of all the screaming we heard... it was already too late."
"So either way, it was still your fault for setting it up the way you did," Anger still showed for Spyro to which she dropped her head for, "And what of this whole, weapon situation?"
"I get seen as a weapon because I always stay near my mom," Ava went to answer, but the question wasn't for her to answer.
"I didn't ask you."
"I know you're upset, but I want to clear my name!" Standing her ground and feeling personally responsible, she needed to tell him the truth on her own, "As you can see, our conditions aren't exactly what you'd call... good. Me and my mom both lost our right eyes from a betrayal we had a year or two ago. Three years ago, we lost our ability to fly," Showing what she meant, her wings tried to extend, but from what looked like over grown scars and wounds, they weren't going anywhere, "We're powerless to really do anything. We could've healed ourselves but... for when we were betrayed, many of the red gem patches were torn up, so we couldn't heal. And for our wings, they were cut down to the nerve. The only way we could've recovered was by a real doctor. But by the time we found one, it was already too late."
Many hung their heads low to hear of this tragic story. Ideas came to Ersa and Volteer's minds as to how they could help, and where all looked to Spyro knowing he could be the answer, he still seemed all too upset for some reason. He still didn't trust what he was hearing, and made his displeasure known, "What does this have to do with you being a weapon?"
"It's because I always stay near my mom. Many see me and assume my mom has me near simply to use as a sympathetic token. But where the hell else am I supposed to be?!" Trying to keep herself calm and collected, thinking about all that she's been through, Ava didn't know what to think at this point, "I tried to find love, and was literally stabbed in the back. I slept in my own room and was met with a blade to my eye! I was nearly paralysed had it not been for my mother, and if not for my weakness... if I had just stayed with my mom when dad was taken... we could've saved him!"
Tears now ran down her eyes for what she believed to be failures made from her own mistakes. Serena was at all hands and ready to help her crying child. Spyro however, had another question he needed answering, so the help she wanted to give was postponed, "What do you mean? What happened to your husband, Serena?"
"Those bastards from the city took him from me two weeks ago," Serena clenched her claws in rage just thinking about it, sharing tears of pain, the same as her daughter, "They're using him as a bargaining chip now. If I don't find someway to save him in the next three days, they'll publicly execute him! The only way for me to save him is by turning myself in. But if I do that, we've already found clear information that they'll execute me instead, and throw my husband and daughter in prison for the rest of their lives! As for my men... they'll all be considered terrorists. The city's military will run through the land, killing every last one of my men."
Spyro sighed to what she was going through, though this sigh was also directed to what he was feeling at the time. A dilemma rose in his mind, and where the sleep deprived state he was already in didn't help, now he had something else to deal with at such a bad time. Where he would've like to show his caring attitude, something still felt off to him, and he couldn't understand what, "You know, for the stunt you pulled, how you treated my family, you've really put me in a terrible spot here," The family had noticed his anger, and to where they knew he would've come down by now, something still ate at him, "It's either I trust you, and go against Amara and Axel, or I trust them, but go against you, who is telling me you were never in the wrong. So you can see where I'm a little frustrated because now I don't know who to believe!"
Cynder noticed this frustration and passed Terrador, Trish, and Ava to get to him. Serena was rather helpful in her words, seeing no side needed to turn against the other, "That's not it at all. Being completely honest, even though we know Amara can kinda be a bitch and manipulate other people, I don't think she knows what's going on either."
"That would make sense if you think about it, Spyro," Ersa took over, giving more understanding with what they had, and giving time for Cynder to sit next to her lover, "Amara came here with one goal. She didn't care who stood in her way. She attacked us, Cynder, and even tried to turn you against us without any remorse. Though there were points where it felt like even she didn't have all the information. We said it ourselves: she's simply been sheltered. And from how she made it sound, her father is abusive, and maybe even insane."
Wanting his mate to take a breather, Volteer took over for her, "That would mean that neither side is necessarily evil, but rather pawns in someone else's game; specifically, A.D.O.. Axel doesn't know the truth, and neither does, Amara," Wondering if this meant anything, or if anything had come of this, he asked, "Serena. Have you ever made contact with, Amara? Anyway to get her to see your side of things? I know Axel would be a lost cause, considering what had happened to his squad."
"Unfortunately, it's rather hard to get anything out or to them, especially since the information we give goes up a chain of command before it's given to her. We know Axel's the last one who gets the information, so even if we were lucky enough to get past all those under him, he doesn't think too kindly of us and would most likely throw our peace talks in the trash," Serena already knew this to be a losing battle no matter how they put it, "Spyro..." The two locked eyes, and where she showed a frown, he showed anger, "Please... I will say it as many times as I need to... I will beg until my voice gives out... We are not your enemy: we've never wanted to be an enemy to any one. But the City Of Prosperity was built on nothing more than communism. They don't just own houses, businesses, and people's paychecks: they own the lives of everyone there. What they say is final, and going against their words even once will result in jail time, or even death."
"And what makes you think I'm any different?" Once again, rather showing remorse, Spyro showed displeasure, "They own the people of their city, but I own the people of the world. Step out of line, and my end results can extend from a constant loop of perpetual death, or an eternal rest to which no one could save you from without the use of my power," Darkness showed past his lips, his scales, and even eyes, truly showing him in a light of what many would see as a monster, and even for Cynder, she was ready to step in, not liking where this was going, "Why should I honestly care? I'll have you locked up with your husband, and your daughter can join too. Your army will separate and I'll have the trust of the city, to which Amara will then give me access to her military. Why should you benefit at all when I can just make this easier on me?"
This shocked all to hear. At this point, no one was able tell whether or not he was serious or not, but if his plan was to put the fear of god into them, it was working all too well. Serena feared him, ducked back away from him even, truly fearing for what he might do. Ava stood, running a couple steps to her mother, but Cynder's wing blocked her. Cynder didn't face the white female. Instead, she gave Spyro one nasty stink eye, keeping sure that what he was doing wasn't really who he was. Not pushing it too far by using her darkness to contact his heart, she simply sat still and allowed this to continue. Continue Spyro most certainly did, "It's funny that you think your little guards could protect you from me. Your wings don't work, so tell me, how would you get out of Warfang once I caught up to you and your daughter: considering we're surrounded by walls?" The more and more he spoke, the higher their hearts raced, and this voice Spyro had forced Malefor's paw, scaring him to his dark form, "You still haven't given me a reason why I should trust you, and since I know you won't be able to, I have just one question," His final words caused all to stand, eliminating any hope that what he was saying was fake, "Are you going to put up a fight, or do I need to add some scars to those that you already have?"
All were in support over Serena, feeling like Spyro was going too far. Of course, some were afraid to speak, even those in the family, considering his darkness was kicked into high gear. Cynder kept her eyes on him the entire time, and from a hidden threat, her tail blade curved to an s-shape, ready to attack. She noticed his eyes had caught on to her blade show. That didn't stop her, and she didn't back down. Many jumped to see what looked to be a fight against the two lover's ready to spark any second now. But for Malefor, he knew there wouldn't be any stopping the two, and he'd rather not have to fight on two fronts. Bravely stepping up and making his voice heard, not much was said, "Spyro-!"
"THAT'S NOT WHO YOU ARE!"
Serena cried out, looking to the floor in tears over what Spyro had said. Her desperation in both voice and pain truly sparked a real, heart gushing moment, manifesting just how much agony she was truly in. The difficulties she had faced all came back around, and for having suffered for so long now, she knew Spyro was her only way out of this hell. Her cry was true, and it was what all wanted to believe. Her fears, her nightmares, all negativity grew numb to her as she put her trust, her life, and future, in his paws, "We know... we've seen and heard who you truly are! You're praised and looked up upon by millions of people! Your colors are bright because they give hope! You're loyal, understanding, and have a heart that very few possess!" Even with supportive and heartening words, Spyro's face still seemed blank to her cries, "We are with nothing, and if not for you, we'd all surely die! If you truly mean what you say... if you truly are... different... than please... take my life instead!"
"Mom!" Ava cried, agreeing zero for what she was saying.
"I'll trade my life if it means saving thousands! I'd trade my life if it meant saving my daughter's; my mate's! I've put them through enough pain, and they've stood by my through it all!" Her weakness aggravated her to feel tears only on one side of her face: to be aware of her wings wishing to extend and move about, but every which way, her body was constricted: limited, "I can't even hold my daughter close... I can't even protect her when it rains... and all because my body is worn down and old. At this point, I'm nothing more than a relic from the old ages. I had my chance to be something, and I failed. I've failed everyone I've ever known! And it's all because I'm nothing..." At this point, everyone knew she wasn't lying when it came to how she felt, and all those emotions she had were true, "Everyone else in this world still has a chance to be something... so, just... please... if you want to hand me over to the city, then, fine! But don't let any harm come to my family... don't let them suffer a fate worse than death..."
"I won't let that happen!" Standing up for her mother, she wasn't about to let something like this happen, "If you went to prison, after what we know happens to dragons there, do you honestly think me and dad would just idle through our lives as if everything was cheerful?! The thought of you suffering... being abused... maybe even being killed..." Shaking her head to clear her one good eye of tears, nothing stopped her from feeling so awful on both thoughts, and power, taking in once again the similarities the two showed in hopeless ideas, "I would never let that happen! I don't care how weak I am! Standing by and doing nothing is not what you taught me! I love you, mom... I love dad, too... You two brought me into this world, and I'll be damned if I'm useless to the only two who ever saw me as something more!"
"Ava," Her mother cried, staring her in the eyes in the same pool of tears she had, and where she wanted nothing more than to hug her daughter, the weight and burden she felt dropped her head low, "I'm sorry..."
Her eyes closed: clenched shut to allow these emotions to explode. She had no way of calming herself. The only one she had ever believed in had turned on her, and this left her with no one to go to and nothing to do. No matter the option; showing power or weakness, it was all a loss for her, and it was a failure she felt was unavoidable, If I show my tears... no one will care... If I show my teeth, I lose everyone... So what can I do? How do I convince Spyro I don't want war? I just... I just want my family back. All eyes were on Spyro now. Their hopes and fears all rested on his shoulders. Each had their own reason to trust him, and even reasons not to. But this didn't stop hope that was sure to shine, and all were waiting for that shine to truly grow bright. Holding their breaths to hear Spyro give a sigh, once again, and to some people's anger, the way he made it sound, he still didn't seem to care, "You need to clean off your face."
Her, and many others hearts sunk to hear this. It wasn't what they would've expected at all, and now at this point, Cynder was ready to attack. However, a movement brought her to a stopping point. Spyro's paw reached to Serena's eye, and where it looked like he was moving in to wipe off a tear, there were no tears in her right eye. That eye was no more. Widening her eyes some in wonder to what he could be doing, Cynder noticed it. The scar that surrounded and even embedded itself within Serena's eye was all but cleaned, showing no damage whatsoever. Her heart raced to see this, feeling hope and joy that her lover truly was still in control. Many still hadn't noticed what he did, and he kept up with what he had to say, "If you're truly wanting my help, then you will beg. But I want you to tell it to my face. I want to see it in your eyes how desperate you truly are."
Seeing herself as nothing more than a fool, even a joke at this point; being so desperate for anything at all, Serena had to agree. Her muscles, body, heart, soul, and mind, all readied, tensed, and hoped that her words would be heard by their last, shining light. Opening not only her left eye, but the right one as well, Serena let her voice roar, locking eyes directly with Spyro himself, "PLEASE! I NEED...!"
Stopping dead and realizing it near seconds after, her vision seemed different. The colors were clear, her eyes felt clean, and the vision once lost and met with nothing more than a black circle was gone. She could see again. The regaining of her vision helped her see all, and with its reappearance, tears started to flow from this eye as well. In such shock and awe, her paw reached up to feel if it was true. Avoiding touching the eye directly, the cushions around she pushed against. Shaking her head and thinking this was all a dream, she blinked a couple of times after. After having done so many tests, and looking all around with widened, colourful eyes, she saw smiles from all to see her excitement in this regaining of shine and color. Instincts drove her into looking at her daughter. Even if she wasn't the one who had her eye healed, Ava started to wag her tail, smiling wide to see her mother's shine once again, "Mom! Your... your eye!" Tears continued to pour for the mother, unbelieving and with no understanding of what had happened, "You look... beautiful!"
Serena had no words for what was happening, but having an idea as to who or how, in a face of shock, she looked to Spyro. He didn't say anything to her, still giving blank face expressions on what looked like anger. After all that had happened, her mind couldn't find a way to piece together if it was somehow luck, or something Spyro had done. Even with her vision back, she seemed afraid, more leaning towards desperate, "You... you gave me my vision back... but... but how? Why...?"
"Hatchling steps, Serena, I'm still in a bad mood," Spyro was a little more showing of love; not quite there yet, but anything compared to his villain side was accepted, "Don't get on my bad side, understand? I don't like playing the villain, but-"
"Please! Heal my daughter!" Serena didn't even allow him to finish; her sudden jump scaring him and many others, "Please, what ever you do, how ever you did it, please heal her instead!" Her body raised from a lowered state at such a tremendous rate, nearly causing herself a heart attack for how badly yet anguished she felt, "If this is someway a token of gratitude, a way of you offering peace, but only one part of a body gets healed at a time... then... I'll give up my vision once more if it means my daughter gets to see again!"
"What?! Mom, no, you-"
"ENOUGH!"
Letting his voice boom, Spyro interrupted all thought, including Ava who was speaking at the time. He was right there, close to being friendly to these four guests. All wanted Spyro's smile to show, for him to laugh and enjoy the idea of helping those who see him so highly: to truly live up to the standards and status he had accumulated over the years. Cynder couldn't sit by any longer and watch these four suffer. Her voice was heard, and making sure he knew how she felt, her paw rested over his, "I don't like when you play the bad guy, Spyro. I know you like that from me 'cause it's sexy, but from you... it's scary, especially with how you're acting now. I'm fine with an evil Spyro in bed, but not now. Not when people need you."
"Something bad is supposed to happen today, and I don't want these four to be the cause of that," Finally getting some form of understanding, the hopes he'd calm all rested to Cynder.
"Don't let that scare or trick you. Something bad will happen if you make that so, and I don't need to remind you how poorly yesterday went. What makes you think the Ancestors aren't just lying to scare you? And if something were to happen, you've already seen the city's military power. It's nothing to you, and the minute they are to attack, we would too."
"I don't want you to get hurt."
"And I don't want you to protect me all the damn time," Her growl showed, "You said you liked my Terror Form: you liked having me beside you. I like fighting, too, and when it comes to this darkness, I feel like a vampire and enjoy the idea of blood. Here soon, we'll train together, bleed together, and fight together once again, and though the war back in the day was horrible for all... we're not the kids we were so many years ago."
"Yeah... that's for sure."
"Now quit pissing me off and be the Spyro I fell in love with."
"And what if I don't?" His cocky voice: the way he raised his brow, many ducked their heads back to see Cynder's widened eyes, "You gonna use that blade to attack me or something?"
"Oooooh no," Malefor and all in the family knew where this was headed, "Serena... you might want to stand back..."
She didn't know what was to happen, but seeing Cynder's blade whip up and connect against Spyro's neck, she did as she was told. The two showed teeth to one another for different reasons. Spyro's was out of nothing more than a show, keeping his smirk hidden past his. Cynder's was of rage, however, her blush said something different. Wondering who would win this fight, the two had their bout. Spyro had already gone first, so now it was Cynder's turn, "Careful where you step, Spyro. Like a mouse to a snake, I could wrap around my pray and take what's mine in seconds. My teeth can drip just as much venom, too."
"For a snake, you seem to feel more inclined to be on your back throughout our nights. A snake? No. I'd say you're more like my lover. Cynder's really cute. Always so submissive. Takes one lick to her neck before she falls under my spell."
"Because you cheat! Stop grabbing my hips and warming your tongue before you grab me, then maybe I'd stand a chance!"
"That's something else Cynder seems to have so much of: weakness."
The family gasped to hear him say something so brave, yet also a chance at a death sentence. A vein popped to the top of her head. Cynder knew who she was up against at this point and wasn't about to allow herself to be pinned down, "Cynder's different than who I can be. I can be one real," One paw rested to his chest, "Nasty," Her body turned more around his front to make eye contact, "Bitch," Many eyes widened to hear her say so about her own self, and she was about to prove herself right, "I dawn a, weakness, you say? How about I bring out the weakness in you, too? My weakness ranges from your tongue, your words, and your lips. But give me only seconds, and your weakness will range from head, to toe~."
"Oh really~?" The flirting started, and there was no going back, "Want to take this back up to our room?"
"I'd rather take it from behind~," Completely blocking Serena now, Cynder stood to Spyro's front, holding both paws against his chest, entrusting him to keep her safe and standing.
"You sure you can handle your first time with such power and no ease~? I wonder what I'd break first: you, or the bed~."
"And what makes you think I'd be on the bed?" His eyes widened, as did many, wondering where she was looking for fun, "No~. Our fun, would be on the roof of this building~. I told you, I'm one nasty bitch, and I want all of Warfang and this world to know of the dominance happening between me, and the legendary purple dragon: Spyro~. After all, it's said that the first purple dragon gave his mate the ride of her life, and the moans could be heard to all~. I want the world to know of my luck, to know I was the victor out of all the women on this planet; that I'm getting claimed by you~."
"Goddamn, Cynder," Malefor had the same reaction as many.
Spyro was absolutely beaten at this point, having no idea what to say after such a lust filled pile of words. He could feel it, and so could she. Their bodies warmed to each other. Not only had her words liquefied their lips from one other thanks to each others breaths, but in the midst of her talking, her blade had dropped, her chest pressed against his, and her eyes showed lust unlike any other. Serena had backed to the wall in a feeling of uncomfortable positioning. However, seeing the two in such a way: the love they truly had for each other, it pained her heart to know this was her and her husband before his capture. Cynder's body warmed to a point she couldn't control, and with no form of anger keeping her in control, the darkness that held her form slowly dissipated, "Ugh..." Holding her head and backing off from Spyro's chest, her body came back down, and her normal voice was heard, "Spyro, I'm... I'm sorry, I... I didn't mean..."
"Whoa whoa whoa, easy, Cynder, easy," Helping her and feeling the weight of her body resting to his arms, she seemed afraid for what she had said now.
"I... I didn't mean to say what I did..." Able to support herself now, she stood, dawning a frown for her actions, "I went too far... and I'm sorry for making you feel so uncomfortable."
"Noooo... that's a bad, little shadow. No negative thoughts," Spyro showed a smile, keeping form of her light to which she needed, "There's a difference between uncomfortable, and hopeful," Just this was enough to make her eyes shine, already thankful to what he had said, "Though, not to disappoint, if we... were to uh... mate... your... first time would be... very slow..."
"What do you mean? Why would it need to be?"
"Ooooooh, Cynder! Your innocence is just as adorable and cute as you are!" Ersa already knew all about why Spyro was trying to keep things gentle, considering it, in a way, would protect her, "We need to have more of a talk on how mating works. Your first time will definitely be... one for the books."
"But we have guests!" Ignitus once again had to make this clear on such a bad time, "Please, talk about this later."
"You know, Ignitus~," Rubbing a claw around his chest, just Claire's voice alone made him jump, "It'll be a first time for me as well. Would you like to go slow, or does the idea of making me yours burn too badly and you'll feel the urge to simply... unload~?"
"ABORT MISSION! ABORT MISSION!" He couldn't hide it, and Claire clearly saw: Ignitus enjoyed her love.
"Du-hu-hu-hu-ude, what the hell," Malefor laughed, "I don't know if you can abort the mission now, Ignitus. Seems like your 'rocket ship' is already being 'docked' inside of Claire-HAHAHA!"
"You're beyond childish and immature!" Ignitus shuck his head to hear him say such a thing.
"Damnit, Terrador, just have sex with me already," Trish grumbled, wanting to join in on the fun for the hell of it.
"I can't. These four are blocking our rooms," Terrador chuckled, and she showed teeth to hear his excuse, "Hey, I'm serious about one thing though. With the walls being muted tonight, want to make out till our tongues hang down our mouths?"
"ABSOLUTELY!" Jumping for joy and hugging the muscular green Guardian, he chuckled to see her excitement, and to the feeling of the hug to which he joyfully gave back, "Though... I hope you don't mind something," She backed, and he did the same, "If I lay on your chest and pass out from such pleasure... wouldn't mind if my tongue fell and stayed stuck in your mouth... if that's okay with you."
"Why do I even bother trying to help you all," Sighing to see lust and voices were simply going about, Ignitus gave up all together.
"You shouldn't feel upset about such things, Ignitus," Surprisingly, Serena spoke, and because they all still wondered of who she was, they all focused to her, "Walking around our camp sights, morale is always so low. No one really has a sense of humor for what they've experienced. It's all talks about war, death, and violence... we have nothing that truly makes us smile. That's also no thanks in part to the fact that we're fighting a losing battle, so..."
"So then... you're just like us?" Cyril was actually surprised to hear she was going through exactly what they were going through.
"What do you mean?"
"Our times during the war was nothing more than a losing battle. After we thought we had lost Spyro and Cynder; our only two sure souls that could help defeat the Dark Master, we all simply... complemented suicide on a daily basis," It was tough to talk about this, but knowing where they were now, it helped Cyril feel a little more comfortable, "It was live, possibly die, and repeat. Every day was hell on earth, and the only ones we had for support was each other. But even then... fights took place physically, and mentally... taking a toll on our very poor wellbeing. How we survived was... unknown to us all. Why did the world keep us alive when... all it wanted to do was torture us, and to break us down to the bone..."
"Fine, Cyril! I'll do missionary with you if you shut up!" Flair about had it with him feeling down, and she wasn't the only one who supported their male, "You fought hard, proved, and made a staple on this planet that proves you deserve to live. The world was simply testing you to see how badly you wanted to mate with me, and since you passed, stop bitching. You'll get some ass in due time, and literally now, all you have to do is behave; the worst part is behind you."
"Girls, if your male feels down about what's happened, I think you all know what needs to be done," Cynder saw the frowns from the males, and where the girls were ready to help, some already snuggling to them, her words gave them some fuel to use as a way of play.
Ersa looked to Volteer, already knowing where this was going to go. Volteer, playing the game as it was told, pretended to feel down, "I don't know what to do with my life anymore... If only I had a female who loved me..."
"Woman Astride or The Snake. You choose," Ersa purred.
"Can we do Spork? Oh, no, wait! What about Scoop Me Up?! Stand And Deliver?!"
"Goddamn, Volteer, chill my guy," Malefor laughed, but others ducked their heads in uncomfortable feelings, "HAHA! Stand And Deliver. Oh you'll be delivering something alright."
"He will in the coming months if he keeps knocking me up~," Rubbing her shoulder against Volteer, she purred, and her mate couldn't lie: he enjoyed her saying, too.
"Damn. Makes me wish Carith would be that loving to me," Always wanting to start a fire, Malefor made his joke.
"One day, you're going to wake up in a pile of your own mess, and it won't take a genus to know I took advantage of you sleeping~," Carith crossed her arms and blushed red, upset that he would make such a joke once again.
"Then do it, Carith~," Her eyes widened to see he accepted her challenge, "Though don't be stunned when my 'rocket ship' is too much for you to handle~."
"Okay! I'm going to see if my voice is enough to shut everyone up!" Spyro, trying his best, let his voice be heard from all.
Taking close notes, especially on Ava and Serena, it was a good way to test who they really were. Not a single time had a frown been shown, aside from when others were feeling love they had missed. Noticing the view of Spyro's eyes focusing back to the mother, Cynder moved off and stood to his left, allowing him to truly judge this other female. It took Serena a bit, as so for others. They rather enjoyed seeing such a family, and even they had laughs and chuckles here and there. It wasn't noticed that his vision connected to hers, but Serena kept calm facing back to him, "Hey... Spyro... I know this is a terrible thing to ask... considering what you've heard, what you believe, and the... little trust you have for me and my group. I mean... here I am asking for a favor even though I've done nothing for you..."
"Get to the point," Cynder tugged Spyro's tail to his anger once again, knowing that both saw her words were unadulterated.
"Oh... sorry..." She didn't mean for him to take it that way, "Could I trust... Ava, to spend some time here with you all?" He and Cynder raised brows to hear her say this, "I know it's a big ask, but..." Looking over to her daughter, a conversation was brought up with Terrador and Trish, and the two never dropped from their smiles as they discussed with one another, "She hasn't smiled like this in years... we... haven't met such a hospitable family such as yours in years. You all seem so... loyal, to who you're with and the family that you have."
"Every morning, we do wake up and rally to these Chambers to make sure everyone's safe and happy," Cynder smiled to Serena, and now being out from her Terror Form, she was free to smile and feel good, "Sorry if I scared you with my other form. I only bring her out when things are about to turn to shit. But... I know that's not needed for you and your daughter," Serena showed a smile back, happy to hear such support, "Me and the girls usually meet up in Ersa's room since it's basically two rooms combined to store so much stuff. We could have Ava tag along and enjoy things that we all do, too."
"What makes you think we're kind people?" Still keeping up the act, at this point, Spyro was failing, and Serena giggled.
"You know, Spyro. All that tension for years of work, maybe you should take Cynder's advice and you two should have some fun."
"Wh...?!"
"So you wouldn't mind if me and Spyro stepped off to the side for a minute? I'm sure I could, change his mind by hitting a couple points in his mouth with my tongue," Cynder giggled, Serena did too, but Spyro blushed, at a lost for words now.
"I know trust will take time, Spyro..." She still showed her understanding on the situation, "I just... my husband... how..."
"Ava!" Spyro yelled out her name, scaring many considering they didn't know what she had to do with what they were discussing.
Ava was hesitant to even move. Spyro didn't face her, still keeping eyes on the mother, and this made her fear even more, strictly out of the idea of the unknown. Looking away and back to Terrador and Trish, she looked to them for comfort. Waving a paw low to the ground, Trish had faith it was nothing bad, "It's okay. We'll be right here."
Trusting in her newfound friend, the walk of fear was taken. Her head hung low to the ground, as did her body. It was like a walk of shame, though more in a form of a crawl. Even upon making it to Spyro, she never stood from how she looked. Comparing her size to his, it was clear that the power difference from the two was exponentially different. She was but a weak mouse compared his wolf. His eye contact didn't help either. Keeping the same pissed face he's had for a while, the fear he put into Ava made her almost duck entirely to the floor. Getting straight to the point, he asked her, "What were you three discussing over there?"
Trying to control her tremors; swallowing all her pride, Ava answered, "W-w-we were t-t-talking about t-t-the Friends..."
"Friends?"
"Yeah... The... the group that calls themselves, 'The Friends'. Blitz, Bolt, Sesal, and Celia."
"Ah. So, digging for information to use as hostages?"
"What?!" Ava never even had the thought, "No, of course not! I was... I... had hoped, of finding someone special in my life... to love me unlike how my previous relationship went. Trish brought up that she knew some guys that you all think highly of. Hehe... if I'm, being honest, where Sesal sounds cute and all, I don't judge my emotions based on looks. Bolt sounds like a rather, nice, and chilled guy. And I was hoping if you'd know... where they..." Stepping back and realizing where this would go, she didn't overstep the invisible boundary, "Never mind... I shouldn't ask that..."
"Spyro," Cynder growled in a whisper, tugging his tail with hers for him to do something.
Sighing, and knowing at this point that the jig was up, Spyro wanted to make his point very clear, "Listen, Serena. I'm not feeling sure about any of this: you, your rebellion, your stories. All of it raises red flags to me. But... the same went for, Flair. I didn't trust her on multiple occasions, and I could've made the worst mistake of my life had I gone against my lover's words. If I end up trusting you, and you stab me in the back; where I might not like to kill, I have three Dark Dragons who'd enjoy every second of your demise: that includes the Dark Master."
"So then... we have nothing to fear, right?" Serena didn't fear his threats, "I'm looking for peace, same as you. I know you're always up for negotiations, and since technically, you hold all the cards in your hand, what you say is just what I'd have to agree with. That is... unless you're looking for... desires of a... sexual, level."
"He's mine, bitch," Turning against her now, Cynder showed teeth.
"OH! NO! I didn't mean it like that! It was a fear, not a hope! Men nowadays only want one thing, and it's disgusting."
"I just want my dad to return from the store after him saying he was just going out to buy milk," Malefor whimpered in a fake show of tears, "Or for someone to play some Lego games with me."
"You're as depressing as you are stupid," Volteer sighed, shaking his head even.
"You're as clumsy as you are stupid. A wise man once said."
"More like a dude with asthma."
"Oh. Because he almost burned alive. I see what you mean."
"I'm going to say this now before this becomes a thing again," Rubbing two claws between his eyes, Spyro wanted his feelings to be known, "For one: I'm sixteen. I don't know why people seem to forget that. And technically speaking, I'm thirteen, though the time gem I was in upped me and Cynder's age by three years. I don't care about sex, and even if I did, I don't plan on having any until I'm twenty, maybe older."
"TWENTY?!" A loud cry of pain and agony hit Cynder in the heart and lungs, and it surprised all.
"What's wrong was that?"
"I can't, I won't, wait that long! Most you'll get to is the age of eighteen, but if you're twenty and still somehow haven't done it yet, I'll take you by force if I have to!"
"Cynder... are you... upset that, because I'm waiting to mate with someone, you know you'll have to wait too because you'd be the one... to mate with me?"
"I...!" At a loss for words, breath, and full of heat, the smile Spyro had given her was a confused one, and she couldn't pinpoint what he was feeling, "All you men are the same! Focus on this peace talk for once in your life and stop looking to get a piece of my ass!"
"Speaking of," Looking behind himself to see Cynder's nice, curved, and perfectly round posterior, Spyro's mouth watered, and he had to lick his lips to control himself, "Wonder when I would get a piece~."
"Help them, and you can have an all you can eat buffet, how about that?"
"Hehe, damn, Cynder. He asked for a piece, not a full course meal. Do you even know what it means to be, eaten out?" It was clear she didn't with the look given to Ersa, "You're as innocent as you are cute. And boy do we have a lot to talk about in terms of the Birds and The Bees."
"Dude, Ignitus, remember when you gave me that talk?" Malefor snickered.
"And it was all for nothing because your parents already told you?" Ignitus grumbled at the memory.
Discussions had gone on for quite a while, and for Spyro, an emotional burden brought back the heavy weighted feeling of being sleep deprived. The back and forth had gone on for too long now, and where he didn't appreciate the lack of help he had yesterday, a thought came to mind on where he stood. Amara never budged yesterday. Even with Axel's help, she was relentless. Right now, I'm acting the same way. Serena wants anything at all as a way of hope, but me being a hard ass is only making her stress continue. I don't like the idea of someone getting hurt today, but if they do... Instead of having negative thoughts and going through all possibilities, Kettu and Xvar had his back, "Then we'll work together to kick some terrorist ass." After Xvar had spoken, Kettu was next. "It's okay to be afraid, Spyro. Just know we'll have your back." This helped a lot for him. Having the two within his mind, and at points feeling their hearts beat, being reminded by a voice made Spyro realize more that he wasn't alone, nor that the two he had with him didn't care. Keeping all this in mind, Spyro finally took that sigh. The Family all knew of this specific kind of sigh, and with a smile to follow up, they all smiled and sighed the same. Finally showing the love, he apologized, "Alright, fine... you win, Serena," At first she was confused by what he meant, but he explained, "Yesterday for me, Amara was a big pain in my ass for not showing a different, more loving side to her. She disregarded everyone and everything, trying to wrap the world around her ideologies and futures. You've come to me as a friend: someone desperate; in need of any kind of light from your darkness, and with me neglecting to help you, the painful emotions of fear and uncertainty, you two have had no rest. So... I'll take the chance to see if you and your rebellion is true to what you say. And yet... even as I try to smile now and believe in you all... the thought of Cynder, or someone else I love being stabbed in the back doesn't sit right with me," Everyone still held onto hope that he would give them a chance, "I feared every night for Cyril, afraid of the day I'd wake up to him in a pool of his own blood, and no sign of Flair."
"Hehe, no worries here now," Cyril blushed as he had a thought, "If anyone's going to be waking up in a pool of anything, it'll be Flair, waking up in a pool of one of my other, liquids, which I'm sure she'll gladly, 'take', later on~."
"BAD!" Slapping him to the back of the head, it wasn't that hard of a slap, but it was constant enough from Flair to get her blush away, "Bad-bad-bad-bad-bad DRAGON!" Even with the slapping done, suddenly, her attitude changed, still holding onto anger, but also hope, "I swear, if you change your sexy ways after we become mates, I'm seriously going to considering killing you then! This hope you give me better stay true!"
"Don't you mean... come, true?"
"Stop making me feel dirty!" Sweats, shivers, and a sudden shift that she couldn't control that forced her body to snuggle his, everything about her was giving into him, and she couldn't control herself, "Damn you... not only do you make my mornings a time to remember, but also my afternoons? And even my nights?!" Her sigh helped alleviate some of her anger, replacing it with nothing but care, "You've... really done a lot for me, Cyril. I'm serious when I say that... if you keep this up... where you might be able to wait... I don't think I could."
"Ugh, classic females," He smirked to her words, chuckling even, "Always thinking about sex. I'm just trying to show some love is all."
"Okay... I was going to wrap my paws around your love pole, but now I think I'll settle for your neck!"
"You're such a tease~," Past his teeth let loose his warm breath to her lips, both closely in range and feelings of wanting to kiss the other.
"Spyro, I'm... sorry... about how you're feeling," Serena showed her sympathy once again, never straying away on how she felt, and telling him the truth with eye contact always, "That's been a problem for me, too. Not just for you, but for all those out there. After the betrayals we've had, and the many scars we've taken on because of it... I'm afraid the same that you'll take an opportunity to betray me. If it came down to me, or Amara, I'm afraid you'd turn me in without another option... without, a second thought..." He allowed her to talk, wanting as much information from her as he could get, "Even now, I'm going off of what people have said... the very few seconds we've observed of you... I'm... desperate... but even in the times as of right now where I feel like I'm at my lowest point... I know the feeling of a blade to my back... seeing someone I love get hurt... I don't know what I'd do... what would, become of me at that point."
The two both knew what they were looking for in one another. Serena noticed that eye contact was key, and that Spyro was fishing for it. Taking such a big risk bothered him to no end. But any way he put it, it wasn't in him to leave someone in the time of need. Now feeling more inclined to help, there was one last thing he needed to be cleared up, "If you want me to help... If you're truly in such a dark place... there's two things I want you to do for me," This was a surprise to hear since not many saw him as the kind to ask for a favor ahead of time, and where a smile is what most would see him asking for, that was only one favor of two, "Enough with the fears. Parents stand tall, strong, and proud for their little ones. Your fear reflects onto her. Your pain reflects to her heart. I know times are tough, and where parents stand strong, it's often hard for others to understand they struggle just as much, but they try not to show it. You need to be the light for Ava, not me. It's a parent's job to watch after their hatchling. That doesn't mean I wouldn't help you, but I'm sure your husband will feel more than inclined to get stronger to protect his family," Listening to him talk, the helpful advice he gave, all while him also having her back, it drew tears to Serena's eyes, loving everything about his speech, "Also, don't jump to the idea of wanting to be brutally attacked. If you know I can heal, do you really think it's a wise idea to want your eye clawed back out in front of your hatchling? The screams she'd hear, the blood she'd see: it's one scar I wouldn't be able to heal. An emotional one takes time. Understand that."
She didn't really know what to say. Simply sitting there and listening to what he had to let out was truly shocking to hear. It wasn't so much of a request as it was just all advice. There was more he wished to speak on, but his other points he wanted to surface; surely they would've been brought up sooner or later, "One last thing that absolutely pissed me off about you," Spyro was serious on this one, letting his darkness manipulate his voice just to chill everyone's fears and spines, "You said you're a relic, missed the chance to be anything at all, and have failed everyone you've known. 'I'm nothing', is what you said. How dare you say that. How dare you say that IN FRONT OF YOUR CHILD!" She ducked her head low, and where Cynder would've done something, all agreed in some way, including the mother, "You're not a relic, YOU'RE A MOTHER! You have your chance as a parent! Your hatchling is still alive, and so is your husband, and you're wanting to give up?! To throw your life away when YOU STILL HAVE SOMETHING TO PROTECT?!"
Looking to the floors to let what little tears her body could still possess after all those she's already shed, hearing and playing back in her mind what she had said, it all made sense to her, and she regretted saying it all. Her thoughts, while wanting to stay private, couldn't be kept down to just her alone, "I'm so... so... sorry... Ava..." Ava held no hate for her mother, only frowning to see all that had happened and how her mother was handling this realization, "All this time, I've done nothing but scare you... Countless times, you've tried to put me in my place: to get me back to who I used to be..."
"Mom..." Showing a frown to her mother, Ava understood, "Ever since dad was taken, I know it's been hard on you..."
"And it was for you too!" Her mother admitted her faults, "I've been so caught up in my own selfish needs when I should've been focusing on you, too. I almost gave up even when you were right there next to me! You were scared... you didn't want me to leave, and you stayed up all night... afraid I'd walk out and kill myself for what had happened..." Revelations were now being known to all, bringing Serena out in more of a human light while also giving the others more context on her backstory, "Spyro's right..." Showing teeth now, her motherly figure needed to show, "I have hope now... I should've always had hope: a reason to live thanks to you," Shaking off the tears from her face, her head stuck straight up now: proud and in charge of who she was, "There's still hope... there's always hope. Giving up now would destroy the lives of thousands. The worst life I could ever lose, would be yours... and by me giving up and accepting death so easily, without thinking about what that means to you, without thinking of a second option...! What kind of mother would I be to my family?! What would that make me as a human being...?"
Spyro had this trouble too, "It's not easy... and I'm glad you understand you're not perfect," This caught Serena's eye, "No one should be. Being perfect means you can never improve. Every day is a learning experience. Every day entails a new way to learn and grow. This is especially for parents. Your child is different from many others, so where one thing may work for them, that doesn't mean it'd work for yours. But... hey..." Showing a true smile that all felt warmth from, Serena widened her eyes to truly see; Spyro was the definition of the light in the dark, "That's where being a parent gives your life meaning. Even after you've grown, your child relies on you to teach them, to protect them, and to love them. You may think your life is over, but there's always a second life worth living out there. I tried to throw my life away because I believed I was meant to die saving the world. But... what does it mean to save the world if your death hurts the ones you love?"
"But then what do I do?!" Serena jumped up, desperate for the answer, "I'd trade my life for my daughter to live! But if in doing so, that makes her feel the pain of death too then, what do I do?!"
"Unfortunately... I... don't have the answer yet. Being a parent, or having someone you love: your body just reacts when they're in danger. The biggest thing to remember is, try not to always find the easy way out. If you have the time to think, think. Though I know there's situations where you must act without thought. In those situations... it's hard to wrap your head around fight or flight. Trading your life to save another close to you isn't easy... but... we... love... who we have... It's hard to make that decision because... you know you can't live without that someone... but... that someone can't live without you either... so... then..."
"Stop thinking on life before you kill yourself over it," Flair knew the path he was going down by thinking about such a thing.
"It's always a pain to think about the 'what if' in life," Cynder didn't want him to continue thinking on this either, "But we're wasting time thinking about horrible thoughts when we should be focusing on making memories. Death is scary, but nothing's a scary as me if you slip up and let your mind drift off, giving me easy access to your body," This helped Spyro chuckle; her smile being such a warm welcome back to reality for him, "You once saved Volteer over your life without a second thought. You could've died, but you didn't. And that's because you weren't alone. There's no reason to fear when thinking of a family. I mean, look at how big this family is, and how wide and varied our skill sets are. Do we really need to fear for the future when our family's around?"
"She has a point," Wanting to get away from that conversation all together, Ava agreed, "Maybe my dad was flexing a little too hard, but the only one I see taking him down is, Spyro."
"That's a great father you have then," Spyro smiled to hear this, "You should always feel a sense of comfort when thinking or seeing your parents."
"Spyro, I have to ask," After all he's talked about when it came to parenting, Serena wondered, "Have you ever been a father yourself? You seem very wise when it comes to how parenting works, and you already seem so well and prepared for the future if you do become a father. Is this just pure skill, a book, luck, or maybe even for such a young age, you didn't mate with anyone, did you?"
"They'd definitely be dead if he did," Cynder growled at the thought.
"I've taken tips from not only my parents, but my foster parents as well, so I've had plenty of help," It was easy for him to answer.
"I thought your parents were unfortunately killed?" Serena was afraid to say something and bring him to a bad mood.
"They... unfortunately were... But I've found those who somehow wish to put up with my annoyance," Keeping things cheery, Spyro kept the smile and gave a laugh, "Technically I have two sets of foster parents. Flash and Nina were my dragonfly parents, whereas Ignitus and Claire are my dragon foster parents," Claire gave wide eyes to see him admit this so nice and easily, and Ignitus smiled to see a tear later drop from her eye out of joy for Spyro trusting her with such a title, "I'm going through the motions now. Got this sexy little succubus demon next to me who keeps me in line if I ever do something wrong."
"Succubus?" Cynder questioned.
"It's a demon who takes female form and appears in dreams to seduce men," Ersa explained it for her female friend.
"But we're not in a dream."
"Cynder, every day with you is so perfect that I could mistake it as a dream," Spyro played it cool, getting close to lip kissing range, wanting his breath to touch her lips while still allowing her visibility of his smirk.
Cynder's heart skipped a beat to this, dawning a quick and sudden red blush. Knowing where this was going, Malefor quickly put a stop to it, "I know you two want to bang, but maybe you should focus up, Spyro? I mean, if you think about it, the sooner you help Serena, the more daylight you'll have, and the sooner you two can get to your rooms. Also considering you'll have nothing to fear with the Dark Master not being a threat and all."
"Damn it," Hissing through her teeth, Cynder knew he was right.
"You know, I will need sleep at some point. I can already feel my legs wanting to give out," Still running off of the few minutes or so of sleep he got, Spyro needed a way of rest.
"How dare you let your body give you weak legs and not me. Go ahead then, sleep. But don't be surprised if you wake up feeling all wet. Your vulnerable body will make me drool."
"Scary yet exciting," Turning it around and in his own way, he knew just how to get to her, "And yet... I feel like you're the only one I'd trust with my sleeping body," His moves were smooth, but not entirely smooth; considering she understood what he was trying to do, although it did work on her, "You know one of the greatest feelings I get when I'm with you? Waking up and seeing you laid out on my chest. I'm glad you see me as someone to trust, too. Even though we have been together and in love for almost a month now."
"And I can only see your love for one another getting that much stronger," Serena gave some nice words to help out.
Remembering what they came here to do, it was time to get back on track, and Spyro knew that, "Cynder, if you want to lay down and get some rest, I'll understand. I'm now in a better mood to deal with this by myself, and hopefully, I'll be able to make you proud."
"No more attacking our guests?" Raising a brow, Cynder wanted his word.
"The only attacking that will happen from here on out today will be my tongue to yours... unless someone attacks me," He gave his word.
"I'll keep you up to that promise."
Believing and feeling confident in her lover to do the right thing, Cynder backed away from her purple dragon to go and lay down. She did so in her usual spot near their side of the wall. Spyro made sure of her safety by watching her back the entire way. His eyes sort of drifted off: circling in a trance just by looking at Cynder's side to side movements from her back-end. Turned now and laying to her stomach, her eyes looked to his; noticing the blush he had. Knowing what it could've been, she smirked, and called Spyro out on it, "You were looking at my ass, weren't you."
He jumped, immediately faking the idea that he was having a conversation with Serena, "Oh! Hey, Serena! I almost forgot something!" It was a terrible fake, but feeling too tired to do much, Cynder shuck her head in a smirk; laying jaw down on the paws she laid out in front of her, getting any rest that she could've, "Ahem..." Now knowing she rested safety, he was able to continue, "Serena..."
"What do I do to stay on your good side?" Outright asking and holding nothing back, this was a question Serena needed answered, "You're the definition of a worst enemy, or an amazing ally. What you've said and given me in terms of hope, understanding, and growth in such a short amount of time, I don't want to waste this alliance, this, friendship, off of something I've said, or something Amara and Axel told you. At this point, I just want my husband safe and sound. I know I have the rebels and the city to deal with but, I feel like it's a losing battle."
"Which, we'll discuss. But as of right now..." His attention turned towards Ava, and sweat dripped down her face out of fear almost instantaneously, "Who gave you this scar on your eye? What's... the full backstory?"
"Oh...?" Placing a paw over her right eye, she could remember it like it was yesterday, "I was... unfortunately betrayed by someone I had fallen in love with. We couldn't tell if they were from the city or a rebel. But one day, I snuggled up to the one who I thought loved and trusted me as... I did the same back to him... and even after being together for four months, I guess he got tired of me," Sighing on the story all together, the pain came to her eye, still haunting her in memory, "I was having a good dream one minute about us becoming mates, and then the next... I wake up to a sudden pain in my eye. And where blood dripped down from my right, tears fell down from my left... The only reason I didn't die that day was thanks to my parents. If not for them, his blade surely would've pushed right through my skull and into my brain," Closing her eyes to try and get this fear away, she was unsuccessful, "My dad was quick to show no remorse to that dragon however, and immediately killed him in the way my boyfriend tried for me," This made her wonder now, "That's probably another story people would tell where we're the bad guys," Opening both her eyes now, she looked to Spyro, "But the only thing we really are... is... we're... fixed...?"
Some were confused in her word choice. But once looked past Spyro, they now understood what had happened. In the midst of her speaking, Spyro had acted out of secrecy. His paw was light to the touch: a feather in feeling. Her speaking gave him enough time to heal her wounded eye, and the scars that surrounded it. The reaction she gave was the same as her mother's: widened eyes, a touch around, a couple of blinks, and a large smile to feel the tears from two eyes instead of one. Serena smiled, wanting to shed tears of her own. But she stayed strong, and allowed the tears of joy to flow from her daughter. Ava looked to Spyro at a loss for words; through the skies in what he could do, "S... Spyro... Y... You... you healed... my eye? But... I... I never..."
"Everyone deserves second chances, Ava," A warm purple smile brought light in the eyes of the white wind female, "Tell me... would you like to fly again someday?"
"YES!" She jumped on the idea rather quickly, "But! Wait!" She backed away, not understanding his ways of thinking, "What do you want? What are you looking for in us? Are you healing me and my mom up to then later dump us out to tell us to go and deal with our own problems?" Serena feared the same but didn't show it, though the thought now was unsettling to them, "Spyro, please, we can't...!"
"Whoa, easy there, Ava," His laughed was so joyful, unlike anything they had seen before, "You know, you two confuse me. You say I'm making these miracles by healing your eyes and yet, I don't see anything wrong with the beauty you two have in the first place," Serena and Ava both blushed to what he was saying, understanding it a little sooner than most; getting smiles from Ignitus, and Cynder, "You two don't owe me anything. If I have the power to do something for free; to help those in need, I'm not going to force people to pay something to me. If you two really are dead-set on wanting to give back, then... I expect smiles from you two."
"S... smiles?" Serena and Ava took a liking to this Spyro.
"Hehe, yeah," Everything about the way Spyro moved, how he smiled, how he laughed: it was everything they were hoping for, and what they originally believed to be untrue, "I can do some more work to help you two. Though, while I said I don't expect anything else except smiles from you two, I hope it wouldn't be too much to ask if I could learn more about what's going on in the world. Either tomorrow or the day after, you said your husband has three days. If you could find a way to send them a letter, or even if I have to go in person, I'm sure Amara would love to see me again."
Cynder gave a slight growl even in her rest. Serena had no problems with this at all, and rather him fearing, she was the one who was afraid, "No..." Stepping back from him, he raised a brow, while others feared for her wording choice, "You're all too nice. I don't believe someone like you could possibly want to do so much for strangers. You say you'll help us, heal us, and ready a meeting to end this fiasco of a time that's been happening for almost five years now. There's no way you're that... hopeful. In my life and experience, you're nothing more than a threat to us, aren't you."
"I know what you're talking about, Serena, and no, he's not," Rather Spyro getting to say something, it was Flair instead, "You're afraid that the Ancestors above will give you hope; by sending you to Spyro, your life will finally look up. But to use you as a game, and play chess with your mind and emotions, we'll later betray you, and you'll forever be stained with horrible memories. You don't believe life could be this easy."
Nailing almost every point she had, Serena had wide eyes to see she understood, "Ye... yeah, that's... exactly how I feel."
"Everyone here has a heart... somehow. The men are in reality emotional messes who'd easily give in at the sight of one of us walking out. Spyro's one annoying bastard, whom of which I tried to kill."
"What?! Did you... well... obviously you didn't but... how..."
"Oh don't worry, she absolutely gutted me," For what should be such a traumatic experience, Spyro laughed it off, confusing the two, "She even went as far as to say fatality: that's how brutal her kill-play was."
"Damn, Flair. That's like, the most cringe thing to say, too," Malefor laughed at the memory.
"Shut up," She hissed at him.
"So then... how are you still alive?" Her eyes stayed wide, same for her daughter, both wanting to know how and what happened.
"I talked with a fortune teller. She gives me twenty-four hours to stay on earth before I go back to the over world," Spyro joked.
"Ha! I get it. But where's your halo?" Malefor questioned.
"Oh. Well... I wouldn't say I'm a good guy. Cynder brings out the evil in me, so I sit at my throne in hell, awaiting my little shadow."
"Little shadow?" Serena asked.
"It's a nickname I gave to, Cynder. I have many more but... as long as it's not Cyn, it's a good nickname."
"Why do you hate the nickname, Cyn?"
"Hehe... guess I just like starting fights. And I see it as a lazy name. Give the nickname some thought and effort, you know? If I gave you the nickname, Ser, sounds weird for someone who's supposed to be female. Then you'd have Male, which, you wouldn't know I'm talking about Malefor. Then Car, Ig, Ter, Volt, and I don't really now Cyril's... Cyr... maybe? But I feel like it would sound more like, 'sear'."
"More like simp," Malefor slapped his knee in laughter.
"I, KNEW YOU'D SAY THAT!" Cyril wasn't surprised, but it still angered him.
"Calm it down, Cyril. You're literally going to have sex before he does," Flair shuck her head, "Leave the dead weight behind and keep your eyes on the prize," Facing away from Malefor, Cyril looked down to the middle of Flair's hind leg area, and upon her understanding of just what he was looking at, her wing quickly covered her private as she yelled, "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU LOOKING AT?!" Her blush was past the color of her scales, "You don't have to bang me with your eyes!"
"You said keep your eyes on the prize!"
"WHA...?! DO I NEED TO SLAP YOU AGAIN!?"
"Where there's a hole, there's a goal," Malefor gave his words of wisdom.
"Dude... Malefor... what the hell," Volteer laughed at that one.
"And tell me, Malefor. What would you do once you met your... goal?" Carith questioned her lover.
"I'd fill her to the brim and make it look as though she's already pregnant~," Malefor's lust, movements against her, and everything else in between forced a jump start to her heart hard enough to make her body hop off the ground for a second.
"Wow! Okay, that just turned bad real fast!" Keeping up the pace in his voice, Spyro knew he needed to say something, "I'm going to quickly talk before someone else..."
"Reminds me of our first night, Volteer~," Ersa was the first to have her fun in saying.
"I'd say the same for you, Ignitus, if you'd stop being greedy with your delusions underside~," Lust, but also anger showed for Claire, knowing he'd avoid it.
"SO ABOUT YOUR WINGS!" Spyro opened his, trying to block the view of everyone else, and the girls giggled to this, "Honestly, I'd say more progress has been made in this short amount of time then when Amara was here. While I would like to know more, I feel like that will come later. Don't want you to have to repeat yourself twice, so the questions that I'll ask will also be for Amara when you two meet."
"You're... serious about us meeting up?" Serena was a little hesitant on the idea.
"Don't worry. We'll have the meeting here and not out in some open area. I'm sorry if I am cutting this short. Having not gotten any sleep, I'm wishing more and more by the second to lay back down and call things a day. But before I do, I'd like for you two to experience the joys of life once again. I'm sorry for how rude I was when you two first got here, and I hope that... me healing you two will... make up for the trouble I caused."
It was unreal to any of them to hear another reason he was wishing to help them so badly. Serena and the others could tell it wasn't a lie or an act. Everything he said was truly from the heart and soul, and he didn't mind helping them at all. This helped Serena sigh; helped her smile, helped her mind focus solely on the positives of the future, "Spyro... you... truly are one of a kind. I'm sorry for the way we treated you in the beginning too. Hehe... and where we're not nearly as amazing as you, I hope you'll trust that our honesty and loyalty is with you."
"I'm... glad to hear," Spyro smiled.
The shadow dragon; still covered from head to toe in armor, showed a smile too, along with his other shadow friend. Where he would've liked to continue watching the discussions, something caught his eye, but more specifically, a sound. Hearing a very faint beep coming from somewhere around, his eyes started to wonder off. Looking for the source, he looked down the hallway, to the left of the hallway, and even the ceiling. The sound only became louder when he backed away: changing from one ear hole to the next, depending on where he was looking. Turning around now and facing the back wall that led into a room, the beeping got a little louder. The more he walked over and up to it, the louder the beep became. Placing the side of his head against the wall, the beeping was right at his ear hole, as loud as it could possibly be. Gasping in realisation of what it was, the shadow dragon jolted; jumping back around and yelling with all his might, "EVERYONE, GET DOWN!"
One after another, an explosion erupted from the two rooms outside of the Chambers. The explosions shoot outwards in a cloud of black smoke, red flames, and rubble. Terrador, Trish, Serena, and Ava all ducked from the kick of the debris. However, unlike the two females, Terrador was able to use his wings, shielding his lover and letting his body take the force of all that came their way. The rubble flung outwards and flew to those even in the back. Each Guardian protected their females, same for Malefor. Cynder was stunned awake from the sudden sound. Her jump up however put her right in the trajectory of a nice sized brick off the piece of the wall. Blocking her view with both her wings, it wasn't needed. A barrier, invisible to all, turned this piece of rubble to ash: leaving not even the specs of dust. The shadow dragon closest to the wall was in a daze after the explosion and needed time to recover. Out from the midst of the smoke swung a trident formed weapon of three spear heads. Even with the armor, it pierced right through; front and back. The force was enough to send his back to the wall: pinning him up and forcing him to stand to his feet. Coughing blood to all below, his body and paws trembled to see the weapon lodged deep within his body. For the dragon without armor, he tried his best to recover it. Running as fast as he could, he was met with the same fate as his other companion. Another trident curved smoke around the weapon as it passed through it. Jamming itself through his arm and to the floor, the shadow dragon let out a powerful cry, "AAAAAGH!"
Falling to the floor and to his chest, he looked to his right arm in fear for the weapon inside him. His body was pinned, just the same for the other dragon. Seeing the damage and wounds that her comrades had taken, Serena cried their names, "HALTON! ARGUS!"
"Argus?!" Even in the blood and smoke, many questioned that name, especially Flair who showed teeth to it.
Reaching his paw over in attempts to try and remove it, the shadow dragon's head was stepped on by an emerging dragon. This caught all off guard, including the three at the front. With Serena's guard down, one more trident was thrown: directly to her head. The shimmer was known to her, but knowing she wouldn't react in time, her eyes simply went wide as it approached her in slow motion. Ava dripped tears to see it too, turning her head and body in wishes to save her mother. Seeing this as the last tear she'd ever shed, the reflection of the weapon shined in her eyes as it filled her vision. Yellow sparks flew, and with the clank of metal hitting metal, the three headed blade was deflected. To her front, and from the shines and hopes in her eyes, stood Spyro. The trident flipped and curled a number of times before landing head first and deep into the floor below, crashing down in enough force to crack the surrounding area. Knowing what needed to be done, Terrador hurried to the back of the group to join the other Guardians with Trish ahead of him, keeping her life protected over his. The dust slowly started to settle, revealing a number of dragons one by one. Spyro's eyes squinted; not out of confusion, but indignation over what they had done. With the dust settled, six dragons stood at the opening they had made. Once again, similar to what happened yesterday, the two rooms had been nearly demolished. The walls and doors were gone, and the only thing not touched were the walls with windows attached to them. Inspecting how this could've happened, he took notice of the three shadow dragons to the front, They must've pulled them through the wall. Males weren't the only gender attacking this time around; females had joined the battle, too. The one stepped to the rebel dragon's head was black; another shadow dragon. Another off to the left, holding up the other rebel thanks to her weapon, was white: a wind female. And for another, to the middle, stood a black dragon: a fear user. In total, he counted six different dragons. The fear dragon took steps forward: keeping the greetings short, "I have to thank you, Spyro," Emerging in a clean and clear view for all to see, the black dragon stood above the rubble, "You're about to single handedly save the entire nation of dragons from far and wide."
Now able to notice it themselves, Serena and Ava backed into the Chambers slowly but surely, dropping sweat once realizing who this was. With those two backed away now, Spyro himself backed away as well. This helped him get a better positioning, and helped him keep the Chamber entrance as protected as possible. The fear dragon didn't want him to have the wrong idea, "Oh, no no no! Spyro, we're not after you. We're after the Rebels who have been terrorizing this planet and the lives of millions for far too long now. We've tried to capture or kill these two for a while now, and thanks to you, they showed up right to your doorstep. So, if it's alright with you, we'll just make our leave with them."
"Don't trust him, Spyro!" Serena cried, catching the attention of all, "That fear dragon: his name's, Seth! He the leader of A.D.O.!"
"The Father is the leader of A.D.O.," Seth corrected her, "Let me guess: you've been feeding the purple dragon lies to get him on your side, haven't you?"
"Says you! I haven't terrorized anyone; I haven't lied to him at all! You have!"
"This is going to be the easiest conversation I've ever had," He saw no issue to worry about who was the villain in this situation, "Please don't tell me you fell for her lies, Spyro."
"What lies?" Spyro stayed calm, however, his muscles showed in power, his chest puffed in dominance, and his stance stood ready for offense, or defense.
"Spyro!" He showed a possibility of shifting to the other side, and this scared Serena and her daughter, "Don't let him manipulate you!" Her cries were in the purest form of fear and desperation, hoping he wouldn't turn on them, "Please, I know you saw it too! That we weren't a threat and never would be! We're just scared, and begging for any way out of this hell!"
"And who's fault was that?" Instead of Spyro saying something, Seth did instead.
Flair didn't trust this guy whatsoever, in more part due to the army he had. Placing her wing against Cyril's, he didn't understand at first, but as she stood up to move, he jumped up out of fear. His heart raced to see her moving head first into battle, and where he knew he'd fight a losing one, fighting Flair all together would've been a bad idea. Her eyes stayed on the fear dragon. The walk she made wasn't to him, but rather, Cynder. Standing in front of her now, Flair pushed her friend behind her with a wing, protecting her from these new found threats. Cynder saw it in her eyes when it came to her determination, and while a bad situation all together, she still found a way to smile, "Thank you... big sis."
The entirety of Flair's body jumped for this. Her tears wanted to show, and where some sadness was felt around her body, hearing this made her even more alert: more prepared to protect who she viewed as a little sister. This situation all together was rather clear and cut dry, considering all the information Seth had, "Let me ask you something, Spyro, just so you can understand we are fighting for good, and not evil. When Serena first approached you, did she seem rather... aggressive, for no real reason?" Spyro held his shiver behind closed doors, wishing not to show how right he was, "Then all the sudden she became friendly, and spoke about how she was afraid for how the world is? 'You either get stepped on, or you show your power so other's will hear you out'. Does that ring a bell?"
"You stayed to the shadows and listened in on everything we were saying!" Seeing past this little plan all together, Serena called Seth out, "There's never been a point where we've met, or who I've met where I've ever done such a thing or said such in that order or way!"
"Hey, Serena, I have to ask. Why did you fool him with your wings being scarred, but not your eyes, too?" Once again, Spyro tried not to show Seth that he was speaking the truth on what's being said, "Crazy how your wings don't work. And yet, from what we observed, on your way here, they were working just fine those couple of seconds ago. How could your wings have possibly scarred that quickly?"
"What are you trying to say?! That I had some makeup artist do it?! That it was all fake to begin with?!" Not completely able to see her company, the agonising pain she heard them in: the weakening of breaths as blood continued to leak out from their wounds, they were fading fast, "Listen! It doesn't matter what's happened then, or now, but you need to let my friends go! They have nothing to do with this! And if you're so afraid of their weapons and armor, we'll give that stuff to you for all I care."
"The stuff you stole?" Seth corrected her, "And why would I let them go?"
"Because I said so," Spyro stepped in now, making it very unclear who's side he was on, "My house, my rules. They attack you, I'll attack them. The same goes for you, too."
"Spyro, you truly don't understand what's going on in the world, do you?" He continued to stall, "Look around you. These Rebels are manipulating you because they've gathered information on you as all have. They're using your kind heart to get to you: to change you into a villain. Those two males have killed plenty, and by that I mean, one death should be too costly for any war. That's the kind of mentality you have, don't you?" Spyro's didn't answer, wanting this dragon to continue his rant, "Because of these Rebels, I'd say over the course of five years, thousands have died from either side: A.D.O., the Rebels, and the City Of Prosperity."
"Anti Dragon Organization?" Having brought this up, hopefully some leverage would be given to Spyro.
"What? A.D.O. stands for, 'All Dragons Organised'. We made this group as a way of dealing with the Rebels while not abiding by the City. We couldn't live there, and the Rebels kill their own kind, so we made our own family, created by The Father. All dragons should be organised in peace, and work together to build a better, stronger, thriving community. That's who we are and what we stand for."
Serena scoffed to hear him say this, "Of course you'd have a lie for everything all planned up and ready to go. Your branding goes off of assassinations that we take down falls for! Wind to cover your tracks, shadow to hide your bodies, poison to lay waste to any who approach you, and fear to manipulate the minds of those around you! We know how you act, how you play, and how you crack the bones of all those who live with no remorse over it!"
"Sounds like you have your operations all planned out, but that's not how we use our abilities," Wanting to clear his name, Seth did so, "Wind we use to help clear skies and give those around a sunny day to smile on. Poison helps cure diseases, shadow protects from natural disasters like hurricanes and tornados. Fear we use on the newborns to help them sleep easier," He made sure not to lie, "Unfortunately, because of your group, we've been forced into making tactics that revolve around harm. Your Amalinstro weapons and armor are no longer a problem for us, considering we've made and found a funny new metal that we simply call, 'Anti Amalinstro'. It's not a high grade metal, but it's very, very effective against what you all hide behind. Not only that, it cuts through scales like how a knife cuts through butter. Only, in this case, the knife is sharp, and made from a legendary blacksmith."
"You sure do love to talk, don't you," Serena showed teeth.
"You won't win this one, Serena. You've eluded our efforts for far too long, and that's ending here," Hoping for a little more of a push, considering Spyro still didn't seem to choose a side, more information was given, "Don't let her hatchling fool you, Spyro. She's of an adult age, and since birth, Serena has done nothing but use her little one as a weapon. Just to, ask something else of how she acts. Did Ava seem weak to you? Like she showed her weakness, tears, and gave pleas for you to understand her and her mother?"
"I did find that odd," Spyro finally showed a voice, though even as a simple response, it scared many, including the two females.
"And what do you expect me to do?!" Ava showed rage to Spyro for his lack of understanding, "You want me to fly?! HUH?! You want me to attack with no armor, no protection, no... ANYTHING, and simply get sliced to pieces?! I'm not like you all! I'm not a male, I'm not strong, and as a matter of fact, I fear getting strong because of the weakness I feel in my bones after! I know it's growth, but the minute you show weakness out there, you're done for!"
"Notice how aggressive she is now compared to the tears she had shed for you," It was easy for anyone to pick up on this, and it gave Seth momentum.
However, the momentum was swiftly lost on Flair's words, "Because she's sick and tired of being seen as a weapon," Having her back, Ava felt hope thanks to her, and was thankful that someone understood her, "She never gets to clear her name: never has a voice in anything she does. And why would she speak up? Showing weakness gets you killed, but being a monster makes you an enemy, and some days, you have to cycle between the two. She's weak, fragile, and easily killable. Which puts you into question."
"How so?"
"Why haven't you killed her yet? Why haven't you killed the mother yet? You have anti weapons and armor, and yet you don't use it against them? How could they have eluded your efforts when you seem so strongly prepared?"
"Why isn't there world peace when the government of the City has the power? Why hasn't death on this planet been brought to an end? Saying something is always easier than doing it. We've tried many times of plenty to bring them in peacefully. But as we've learned, that's never worked. So, we started to use force. Unfortunately, they brought others into the crossfire. Where we killed in self-defense, they kill in an animal like matter, caring little for hatchlings that have come on to our battlefields."
"What?!" A good number cried to hear this, easily able to make out the image of what he was saying.
The more he spoke, the more Spyro disliked him, and he couldn't quite understand it himself. Someone needs to make a slip up, because right now, I don't know who to trust! Still not having his demands met, a little more of an asserting voice was needed, "Shut, up. I'm done with you, and those two behind me. Until you release those two that you have captive, I will not allow information to be exchanged."
"They're terrorists, Spyro. A slow death is what they deserve."
"Once more. My house, my rules."
"You step out of the way of the entrance into those Chambers, and I won't be responsible for what happens to your family."
Spyro stopped dead, shivering down to the spine in a cold feeling. This shiver didn't last long. Boiling like fire, his flames ignited his body in anger for what this dragon had to say. Almost all in the family knew what was about to happen, but for Serena and Ava, they had no idea what was happening. Noticing Cynder and Flair backing further and further away from Spyro, the mother and daughter turned around and noticed all had backed away. This scared the two, having no friend or foe in this matter: sitting there in a heavy cloud of angst weighing them down. Thankfully, Trish, having made a new friend, wanted to help them out, "Ava, Serena... you two might want to get back."
They didn't question it, and were quick to run to their aid in the back. Spyro now had plenty of room to do as he pleased. The darkness filled the area around him, giving an idea of what he'd have to work with. With all this new found space at his disposal, nothing would stop him from holding back. However, he didn't want to start a fight, definitely not like last time. So, giving the fear dragon a second chance, he wanted him to correct himself, "Did... Did you just, threaten, my family?"
"You're threatening the lives of everyone on this planet by protecting those terrorists," Seth showed teeth, "Make a choice in where you stand here and now, Spyro. Do you fight for love, truth, and justice? If so, hand those two over, and we will be on our way," For some reason, Ava and Serena didn't see a need to fear in him agreeing on that, considering the show of darkness growing by the second with every word this dragon had to say, "Or... Do you fight for evil, death, and mutilation? If so..." Readying himself for a fight, those in his group followed along the same, "We'll have no choice but to attack you, and your family. Stand down before we cut you down. We know how much you love, Cynder. I'd be a shame if you lost her."
Those in the family were all very aware of the do's and don'ts when it came to threats such as these. They all backed, but for Serena and Ava, they still stood where they were, showing wide eyes to this kind of threat. Even though she knew talking wouldn't make her a target, that didn't stop Ersa from being afraid of what was to happen next, "Serena... Ava... you two should really back up," The two noticed that the Family group was almost touching their backs to the far end wall, "Things are about to get loud."
Hearing such a threat once again be made to those he was close to, Spyro wished such people didn't exist, and he grew tired of them, "You went from wanting me help: constantly berating me about being on the wrong side, and yet... here you are, threatening to cause harm to my family, to my lover, when they've done nothing to do. What exactly are you trying to prove when saying this?"
"You won't listen to reason because you're nothing more than a child stuck in a muscular body. You keep trying to bring peace; to help others and bridge a path to all for everyone to lay under," Seth had his reasons, "Stop trying to save everyone. Stop trying to save and protect MURDERERS! Cynder killed millions, Malefor killed millions. We saw the monster Flair was, and now, once again, you're protecting evil, you're protecting terrorists! Do you ever sit back and realise that having your head out your ass would do you some good?"
"You ever hear the saying: never kill a killer? Never seek revenge for it's a dark path?" This displeasure and unlikable taste Spyro had in his mouth now wouldn't go away, "Revenge is... complicated. Even when things seem so awful... even when someone does something to another person that's just so... inhumane... there's always two sides to how people feel. Some agree death is what should become of the attacker, while others... disagree... as it seems wrong. If I were to kill... what makes me any different than a villain: an inhumane monster?"
"Killing ends suffering. Killing ends the nightmares that many endure. Killing helps people sleep at night to know that whom they were threatened by, or treated wrongly to, are now dead! That lifetime of suffering and torment is all over, and from there on out, lives can be lived, loved ones can be with loved ones, and the fear of being attacked dwindles to a minimum," Same as Spyro, Seth found a complete disconnect to how his opponent thought, "How could you possible disagree with death, Spyro? Death is the only one true way to peace."
"And would you be comfortable killing so easily?"
"Of course."
"Even if that someone was young, inexperienced, and abused? Forgotten by all and seen as a villain?"
"Sometimes you have to do the wrong thing for the right reasons."
"That kind of mentality is exactly why war still rages every single day."
"Come on, Spyro. You're strong, not dumb."
"By killing someone, you're becoming the single thing you sought to destroy. You kill someone because they're a threat, but now, what does that make you? You traded the death of a villain to become a villain yourself. Every action has a consequence. You keep killing, and killing, and killing, and sooner or later, mass killings will happen from the rage of those lives you ended."
"Then they kill me, get their peace, and everyone's happy. The last villain on earth is gone. So what's the problem?"
"I've come to a relation... like ying and yang. I can't expect there to always be peace. And while destruction needs to happen, there's ways to have such happen that doesn't involve death. Sure, once you kill all evil, nothing would be left... but this goes back to revenge. Once that story of death is over... what's next? What will these survivors do? How will they handle the trauma of lost loved ones? Who would get the kill and feel satisfied, and even if they had gotten the kill, would they feel anything at all?"
"Why are you making it sound like everything branches?"
"So you're understanding?" This was good news for Spyro, having hope that he could bring Seth out of such a dark point of view, "Every story is told differently. Where some see me as a hero, others see me as a villain. The definition of a hero and a villain is really what you make of it. Life isn't easy, and every day, you make millions of decisions that branch off your life path to new horizons. You learn something new: you grow, see, hear, and process all that information. That information you then use to be better; not to make the same mistakes as others. You say killing is the right way to go, but... has killing done anything to better our society?"
"Peace sure hasn't."
"Almost as if that's because we've never had any, considering it's always been interrupted by death and destruction, the one of many reasons for true pain," Neither were seeming to budge on any of the other's point of view, "Look, I'm not saying you have to agree with me. Opinions are what makes the world go round, and we shouldn't have to fight for a higher voice. But what we can all agree on is that death and violence isn't the way. I'll handle the Rebels. You and your group will never have to feel bothered by them again."
Seth sighed to hear him say this, knowing there would only be one victor, "It's a shame. You honestly could've been a light in the dark for many, but instead, you choose to believe and continue to fall for the manipulations of terrorists. I don't want to have to fight you, but if putting my fist against your skull will knock some sense into you, then I will."
Spyro too had to sigh, seeing that all of his speech was nothing more than wasted breath, "Then what about you, Serena? Ava?" He didn't face them, only asking for their opinions, "What do you two believe? How do you two think the world should work? I'm... curious, to know."
The mother and daughter didn't quite understand the question and why he was asking it. It took some back and forth looks from the two to understand it themselves, and Serena was rather hesitate to answer, "I... I... I agree... with you...?"
"Don't agree just because you're afraid of me," He, as many others, saw her saying wasn't from the heart, "I don't attack for different views. Hehe, unless it's Malefor, then I'd be all for a drop of blood."
"I hate you, too." Malefor grumbled.
Feeling a little more free on what she wanted to say, Serena gave an answer that not many expected. She rubbed the side of her arm just thinking about it, and where she knew this would make her out to look evil, her opinion was her own, "I... don't, want you to worry, but... I... agree that... killing is necessary for peace," This surprised many to hear, and her reasons behind why she thought this way were an eye opener, "Being peaceful never gets anyone anywhere. We tried to be peaceful, and every step of the way, we were stepped on simply because we weren't strong. Had I killed those whom have harmed me, those who were around me that I knew were evil... I could've saved lives... I could've saved my husband before he was captured. Why should I try to heal the world, try to be a better person, when thinking in such a way only makes you forgetful to time itself."
"Because people like you who still stand after being beaten make this world a better place," Spyro rather enjoyed her opinion, seeing so much to overcome and work with.
Serena stopped upon hearing him say, and letting her vulnerability show, her voice was desperate to know why he thought this way, "What do you mean?"
"If I had died, so would this planet. The Destroyer would've ripped this world in two, and everyone on it would've perished. That act... the singular decision of one man, shaped, changed, and saved the lives of millions. Cynder, who was seen as a monster, and everyone wanted dead... had it not been for her, I would've died in that Volcano. And look at The Guardians," Wanting Serena to truly see how he felt, he made sure to face her, he made sure to smile, and he made sure a feeling of comfort came over those around him, "Each singular life seems so small when compared to the universe, and where millions can make an army, so can one. Millions of dragons roam the earth, yet it takes a dozen or so to protect it. When Warfang was attacked, it was up to me, my family, and the Friends, to defend it. Had any of us died, the world would change in ways that require more heroes. If I were to die..."
"Choose Malefor instead... please," Cynder didn't like that idea, and knew someone would be better fit.
"More like punching bag," Malefor whimpered.
"What I'm trying to say is... one mind can make a future. One mind can make a city, a town, an army. But then when you add two, you make the most powerful thing of all: A bond. A bond so special, and so unbreakable, that challenges you face alone become that much more bearable... together."
"A family," Serena understood, giving wide eyes to see where he was going, and Spyro smiled to see she saw this.
"Working together makes any situation easier. Had I been alone, against the Dark Master, the recovery after, my battles there on after... I... would've died... Ignitus showed me the light when I was young, and when I didn't have him; my brother, my parents, or the Guardians... I had, Cynder. She saved me in our battle against the Dark Master, the recovery, and of course, all my battles after. My life... like anyone's life, gains so much more meaning from the life of one, single, soul. If the world could be saved by just two souls... just imagine what we could do with millions."
Serena understood all that he was saying, and compared to Seth, Spyro saw a shine in her eyes that signified growth. She looked bright on the future, and was looking for all possibilities and hopes to make life more bearable. Seth on the other hand seemed so dark. His eyes showing nothing, and the idea of growth being a nuisance rather than a joy. It was two different sides to each, and these views helped Spyro have more of an idea on who was friend, and who was foe, "Just think... had you killed me, Serena, I would've never been able to save your husband. So before you go around thinking that being a human being and having mural rights is wrong, you come talk to me, and understand it didn't take murder for Ava to be born, but two souls. You deserve so much more, so I don't want you to fear my help being in favor of the enemy."
"Spyro..." Serena dropped a tear from his words, "But I would've never killed you! I would've never killed anyone! I swear!"
"I know..." The smile alone was enough to bring comfort, but his smile made her jump for joy to see his sympathy, "You're not the enemy here, and you never were. Hehe... which, one headache is gone. I'm a little pissed off to see all that back and forth of trying to find out if you were bad or not was all for nothing. Something was to happen today, and that something blew open my goddamn home. Which," Turning back around and fully understanding who the enemy was now, Spyro was ready for a fight, "I hope you don't mind leaving while you still can. I'm pretty sure I specifically requested you to release those two a while ago. You spill blood in my home, I will for yours."
"You threaten us now and see us as enemies all because we didn't agree with your viewpoint?" Seth tried not to spit.
"It's hard for me to think you're evil, but I'm not surprised you can't grow, considering your brain can't either. Shame you're about to be schooled by a child in a muscular body," Spyro was all about done with this group of flies, "You try to validate murder, you threaten my family, you make lies on the scars Serena and Ava had, you try to tell me what to do after you blew a hole in my home, you showed no remorse to the two dragons that are bleeding out, and you threatened, Cynder. You think you can go around and walk on everyone simply because you have a group. I hate having to hit females, but if I need to teach you your place, bitch... then I will."
All were in shock to see Spyro in no mood to play. Malefor swung his fits in the air, hoping and ready for a fight. Cynder blushed and held a paw to her chest, wishing to kiss Spyro right about now. Others were afraid, some were curious, and of course, for Flair and Claire, they wouldn't mind a little bloodshed. Seth was at all ready to show where these incompetent group of dragons stood. He made his stance, and was ready to thrown down, "I'm a bitch, you say?" Backing away from Spyro and to his group, he continued, "You know what I like about you, Spyro. You're the kind of person to make my day. You stand here with such determination, such love and drive," Grabbing something off the knuckles of another dragon, Seth held it to his paws, "It makes me excited, and gives me all the more to look forward to when I break your jaw, helping all see just how pitiful you truly are," Sliding the holes of this weapon down his claws and to his knuckles, the weapon was shown, "Tell me, Spyro. Do you know what brass knuckles are?"
Serena and Ava sure did, and both were quick to cry out his name, "Spyro!"
"The fun is choosing which way to torture you. Should I break your jaw and save the blade for your lover? Or should I break her jaw?"
"Enough with the threats to her, Seth," The darkness within him started to boil, and even for Spyro, he was contemplating on letting Kettu and Xvar free, "You talk a lot of shit, but let's see if you can back it up," Seth smiled at the challenge, approaching Spyro now with next to no fear, "I have my own threats to give, considering you think you're so tough."
"Oh? Please do tell," Seth found this to be amusing at this point.
"Hehe... hehehe... Hahaha! HAHAHAHAHA!" Spyro found this battle to be amusing too, "You better hope that first hit kills me! Because if it doesn't! Hehe... HAHAHA!" Trying to find a point in time where his laughter was under control, the Family understood why he was laughing, but the others didn't, "Might have some fun turning you all into a dragon centipede, though with your head so far up your own ass, might be easier if I folded you back around and made a burrito out of you. Blood for the sauce, organs for the meat, and I guess shredding your horns will help me with the cheese."
Many widened eyes were given to his threats, and for someone like Flair, she finally smiled to see such brutality, "Alright, fine, I agree, Cynder. You can keep him, but only if he stays like this," Cynder wasn't surprised she would agree with something so violent, and before she could say anything at all, Flair actually started to cheer Spyro on, "Yeah, Spyro! It's about time you grew a pair! Now show that son of a bitch his own pussy! Snap his spine and force his own tail down his throat!"
"Shit, why not," Claire shrugged, "Tag me in, Spyro!"
"Why do you want to fight?" Ignitus questioned her.
"BECAUSE!" Grabbing what she could of his shoulders, saliva dripped from her mouth, "I have to enjoy the thrill of battle before you knock me up and I can't fight anymore!"
"WHAT?!" He didn't expect her to say that at all, "What does me having sex with you have to do with battle?!"
"Do you even know where a hatchling forms in a mother?" Ersa questioned him.
"We are not having this conversation!"
"You know, Flair..." Cyril decided it was time to die, "I could show you my pair later tonight if you wanted to~."
"Cyril... do you find death amusing?" Flair growled to him, ready to choke him at any second.
"No... I just really want to have fun with you," He was honest.
"Then stop sounding like such a pussy. And if you can do that, I'll tell you what," Flair issued him a challenge, "If you show that you've got a pair by going over and putting your blade right through that guy's chest..." Letting the warmth of her breath touch his lips; her words, her lust, and her enjoyment was almost all too much for him to feel and see at once, "I'll blow you~."
At a complete lost for words, Cyril's head ducked to his wings, forcefully having a massive cough after the spit he had chocked on from such a sudden challenge. Seth was questioning the actions everyone was having to the threat and approach he had given. Rather people fearing, aside from Serena and Ava, no one seemed to feel anything to him. All seemed to smile, joke, or flirt with who they were with. Even for Spyro who was right at the forefront of what looked to be the end of the line, he took his eyes off Seth just to speak with Cynder, "Hey, Cynder..." He got her attention, "What does your mind tell you? Listen to the Terror and join the evil that you'll force me to agree with, or listen to the good, and have to fight the evil later?"
Cynder sighed, smiling to see what he was trying to do, "Come out of this battle, unscathed!" She knew he liked fights, "I know you like bleeding and whatnot, but behave yourself, and I'll let your dreams become a reality. Either you can fight the Terror, or me... but... I'm not going to lie... seeing you flex those muscles, it's going to make it very hard for me to not want my tongue down your throat."
"No bloodshed from me it is!" Spyro had his mind made up, "Alright then, Seth, let's..."
"SPYRO!" Ava and Serena tried to warn him in time, but it was too late.
With a swing and a hit, Seth had plenty of time to ready himself, and to gear up for his attack. Unknowingly to Spyro, the amount of force he was able to build, considering no one was facing him or truly seeing him as a threat, was enough to make Seth's side turn to the point his elbow hid behind his back. Because Seth was left handed, and Spyro having turned his head to the right, the return of his vision to the poison dragon was a full one eighty. At first his head turned to face Seth, but upon the connection of the brass knuckles to his jaw, the ensuing kickoff was felt to his chin. The punch was loud, painful, and from the sound of cracking bones, Spyro's head snapped to the left side, facing the wall of the Chambers. It was no small punch, and the sound alone was close to the bone breaking sound Spyro had made before when purposefully breaking his jaw. It was a clean hit, perfectly executed and nailed right on target. All showed fear now for this attack, and for Ava and Serena, they stood in tears. Spyro himself had no reaction. The attack was surprising to him, and the feeling made his scales shiver. Seth found himself proud, and was ready at any minute for him to break, "Huh... you're a lot stronger than I thought. Well, the first hit didn't kill you, but... HAHA! Goddamn, did it cripple you! How you gonna fight with a broken jaw, Spyro?! Hehehehe... man, that's gotta hurt."
Spyro's response seemed much more different than how he'd usually play. His growl had more grumble to it, more weight when understanding the attack. Spitting blood off to the floor, seeing blood be drawn from such an attack now helped others understand how badly the attack had actually felt. Wiping the blood from his mouth, Spyro looked to the smear on his arm. Some couldn't tell if his reaction was excitement, or fear. He loved fights, and a little blood wasn't anything he couldn't handle. However, his reaction was most definitely different. His teeth showed to Seth now, and where this kind of attack would've knocked out or even killed dragons, Spyro's chest puffed, his figure stood tall, and his muscles flexed, "I'm gonna make you wish that first hit killed me," Seth jumped, surprised Spyro was still able to make such fluid and complete sentences after having his jaw broken, "I promised no blood shed, and you ruined that for me."
Neither the mother or the daughter tried to show it, but they were afraid for different reasons. Serena wanted to run ahead to try and help out, "Spyro, I can-!"
"STAY BACK!" His voiced boomed out to her, forcing her to duck low out of fear for what was happening.
She didn't understand it, but for Ersa's mind, same for Volteer, the yellow female came to the conclusion of what was going on, "That punch must've really hurt him," It scared Ersa to say, and her saying this helped all realize, and feel the same fear that all were under, "That's not his voice of commanding, or a voice of enjoyment. He's afraid. Whether that be from the fight, or something else, that attack scared him."
"Bu-bu-bu-but... but he's... Spyro!" Trying his hardest not to show fear, Malefor failed, "What the hell could possibly cause him to fear?!"
"Those aren't brass knuckles," Spyro saw right past the weapon choice, to which Seth smirked, "What are they made out of, Seth?"
"Oh, so you noticed? Just cause you're still standing, I'll give you that information," Seeing everything falling into his favor now, the enjoyment Seth was staring to have sickened Spyro, "This kind of metal is rather hard to find. But once acquired, with the right tools and crafted by the right people; IO-dorniam can be a real bitch. It could snap the thickest and healthiest of trees, put a hole through concrete, and snap the bones of even dragons. However, they can do so much more. Normally an attack would break a dragon's will to live. But in some rare cases, the scales couldn't hold against the punch. So my fist sometimes clears the body of the dragon. It removes scales, bones, and organs without much effort at all," Hearing now that Seth was mutilating dragons with this weapon; where he found enjoyment and pleasure for feeling so power, Spyro found nothing but disgust and hatred, "What's the matter, Spyro? Scared? Finally seeing that you aren't the top dog around here anymore?"
The joy and excitement Spyro once had for this battle was all but diminished. Forcing out some of the excess tension, Spyro needed to stretch his neck, popping some ligaments to loosen himself up. He was afraid, but the fear he felt was for all the wrong reasons that others had believed, "No... I'm not afraid. At least, I'm not afraid of being slapped in the face by your little pussy stick."
"Tough talk for someone who just had their bones snapped."
"You have five senses, yet you only ever use one. Look with your eyes before you tell me something false again."
Seth did so, and upon further inspection to his weapon, the material pieces at the top had broken. The curved knuckles at the top were shattered, and no one had taken notice to the pieces that had fallen to the floor. Seth and his group jumped to see this, but for Ava and Serena, they all grew smiles in hope. Now at a lost for words, Seth didn't know how to respond. Spyro wanted to smile, though upon his realisation of what this fight would be, he kept things dark, "The fear I have is for my family. That attack surely would've done some major damage to them, and rather seeing past what I can handle, I need to understand what they can't. Those little weapons, those, pieces of wood. While they can harm those around me, I fear not for my life, but for the life of others."
"You're really going to try and take on my army all by yourself?" Shivers showed past his scales and voice, but Seth stood strong, "Didn't know you were the kind of guy to consider suicide."
"Oh, I'm not. But I am the guy of kind who considers going back on my word when choosing not to kill," Seth backed away, ready for another fight to begin, only this time, being much greater and more difficult, "Your one chance to kill me failed. Now it's my turn."
