#Powerless

It was a nice sunny day in the city of Metropolis. No one was unhappy and no one had a care in the world. However, there was one person that did not share in the jollyness of the day.

"Dammit!"

Lex Luthor smashed his computer screen in anger.

The cracked screen showed a news article about Superman stopping illegal weapons purchasing at the docks. The article went on to describe how the Man of Steel stopped a group of terrorists from getting their hands on the experimental Lexcorp weapons.

"That blasted alien just can't keep his nose out of my business," Luthor groaned. "Now, I'm out 50 million and no weapons."

"Then perhaps sir, it would be prudent to stay out of the weapon business for a time," Mercy suggested.

"Don't be ridiculous. Selling weapons is a big part of this company's income," Lex explained. "If I stop making weapons, I'll lose money. That so-called hero has cost me big. And it isn't the first time he's done this either."

Lex glared at the screen.

"He's doing this just to spite me. I know that," Lex rambled. "If there was only a way to get rid of him and all those costumed freaks once and for all."

Mercy had to force herself from rolling her eyes. Her boss, as smart and ruthless as he was, could be such a man child when things didn't go his way. Sure, working for him paid the bills but sometimes his schemes had gotten a little too close for comfort. She had even thought about quitting, but the paycheck had its pull. A beep from her phone caught her attention.

"I'm sorry Mr. Luthor, but I must remind you that we're late for the satellite testing," Mercy said, hoping that she could stop his rambling.

Luthor sighed in annoyance.

"Right, let's see what the boys in the lab have cooked up," Luthor sighed.

Luthor and Mercy went down on the elevator to the bottom floor of the Lexcorp building. When the door opened up it showed a group of scientists and engineers working on the schematics of a group of satellites. The computers showed the pictures of different satellites floating above the city of Metropolis.

The scientists turned to face both Luthor and Mercy.

"Ah, Mr. Luthor, welcome to the lab. We're-" the head scientist began.

"Is it ready?" Luthor said, cutting the scientist off.

"Yes, we were just about to-"

"Then turn it on. I need to see if my satellites actually work," Luthor said, stepping closer to the screen.

The head scientist walked up to his console and began typing the commands on it. The whole room watched with breath in hand at what the satellites were meant to do.

On the screens, it showed the satellites turning their panels towards the light of the sun. As the sunlight was being absorbed by the panels, the energy was being contained within the inner batteries of the satellites.

"Congratulations Mr. Luthor, your satellites have managed to absorb enough energy to power half of the city should it be needed," the head scientist said. "Now, all we've got to do is test out the laser function and the antenna for the transfer."

"Yes, that's all nice and good. But tell me, do you think you could alter the light spectrum of the energy?" Luthor asked with the shadow of an evil smile stretching on his face.

Mercy facepalmed herself.

"Um, yes sir. We think it could be possible," the head scientist muttered.

"Excellent," Luthor said. "Could we test out the solar output? To see if we can light up the city until we can get the laser going?"

"Oh, yes Mr. Luthor. We can do that no problem," the head scientist replied.

"Excellent." Luthor mumbled, tapping his fingers.

"Oh, god," Mercy thought.

Of course her boss would find a way to make anything remotely connected to sunlight into a weapon to kill Superman. Mercy couldn't wait to see how this blew up in her boss' face.

Just then, the alarms blared in the room.

"What happened?" Luthor asked.

Mercy looked at the screens as it showed a message.

"It would seem that we have an intruder," Mercy said as the elevator door dinged.

In another part of the city, Izuku was carrying Kara's books on their way to the Daily Planet. However, Izuku was at the front while Kara sulked at the back. She was slumped over and had her hands inside her pockets.

"Kara, are you feeling alright?" Izuku asked.

"Not really. I just don't get why we have to go to visit my cousin?" Kara asked.

"Well, we were assigned to write a paper on a current event through a news outlet," Izuku summarized. "So going to your cousin and Ms. Lane for information could be beneficial."

"Come on Greenie, we're current events. Let's just write a paper about how awesome we are and call it a day," Kara suggested. "We can work from home and just lounge around."

"Kara, don't be lazy," Izuku said, gaining a blush. "Besides, you'll make me do all the work while wearing some skimpy outfit," he muttered.

A flirty smile appeared on Kara's face. She had been taking Izuku and Barbi's punishment to a whole new level. Whenever she was alone with the green haired boy she would wear some tight t-shirts, super short shorts, one time she even wore a loose shirt with no pants. Kara and Galatea would then take turns teasing him and snuggling up with him just to make him fluster. Meanwhile, she had made Barbi dress up as a French maid on a nearly daily basis.

"You gotta admit that I do look good in that space explorer outfit," Kara chidded. "We could use it after your punishment is over~."

Izuku cursed under his breath. That outfit was one of the sexiest that he had ever seen. And every time Kara and Gatalea used it, all the blood rushed down.

Kara laughed at how red Izuku's face turned.

"Ah, thanks Greenie. I needed that," Kara said.

"Glad to help, Kara," Izuku sighed. "Now, we can go ahead and talk to your cousin. Or, you could get Summer School."

Kara was about to reply, but the idea of spending her summer in school was worse. She groaned but followed after Izuku.

They took the elevator all the way to the top of the Daily Planet. As soon as they stepped out, they were met with the sight of different journalists running down and out of the office while typing away at their articles. The smell of coffee and cigarette smoke laid in the air like a cloud.

"And they say that journalism is a dying profession," Kara pointed out.

"Kara, Izuku, over here," a voice called out.

Izuku and Kara followed the voice and spotted Kara's cousin, Clark Kent, waving at them. The two teens walked up to the young reporter just as he sat down on his desk. They met up with Clark, but Kara was not particularly thrilled.

"Thank you for helping us out, Mr. Kent," Izuku said, shaking Clark's hand.

"I'm glad that you asked me for help," Clark replied. "And Clark will do just fine. I was a bit surprised that you were the one that asked me, Izuku, and not Kara."

Kara merely huffed at that.

"Yeah, I may have suggested you against her wishes," Izuku sweat dropped.

"And it definitely doesn't have anything to do with you acting all high and mighty," Kara mumbled.

"I heard that," Clark chided in. "It's not my fault that I grew up faster."

Kara glared at her cousin.

It was no secret that Kara had a bit of a grudge against her cousin. Izuku could count in both hands the amount of times that he and the rest of the team had heard her vent about it.

"Well, um…" Izuku began, looking for something to change the subject.

He spotted the article that Clark had just finished typing in his computer.

"Um, what's the article that you just wrote about, Clark?" Izuku asked.

Clark and Kara turned to the screen.

"Oh, that's about the new Lexcorp satellites. According to Luthor, they are meant to collect sunlight and then bring it down to Metropolis as new clean energy," Clark explained. "He hopes to get investors to be able to launch the same type of satellites all over the world. However, there are some components that look an awful lot like large lasers that can shoot from the sky."

"Wow, it must've taken a lot of research to find that connection," Izuku marveled.

"Yeah, it took hours of reporter work and investigating. But I think the article has come to a very good piece."

"It took you hours to write that?" Kara asked. "I could've done that in two seconds with super speed."

"With a lot of typos I imagine. But the most time consuming part was getting the information from Lexcorp," Clark clarified. "He keeps a lot of things hidden from the public when he doesn't have a proper spin campaign."

"Sounds like those satellites are something that old cueball would use to shoot down a certain red and blue hero," Kara said. "Why don't you just pull him out of his building and give him a glare with the heat vision and be done with your cat and mouse game?"

"It's not that simple, Kara," Clark said.

"Hey Smallville!"

The trio looked up to the source of the voice. The owner was none other than Lois Lane, wearing a light purple jacket and skirt.

"I need you to help Olsen get his butt up here, we need to go over the plan for the Luthor gala next week," Lois said.

"Yeah, I'll get him. He's probably on the third floor in the black room," Clark said before turning to Izuku and Kara. "Sorry guys, I'll be right back and then we can talk about your paper. Please, take a seat and I'll be right back."

Clark walked away from the two teens at a moderate pace.

"Why is he walking like that? He could go grab that dweeb and be back up here in less than two seconds if he wanted to," Kara said. "I mean, he has the speed to do so. I certainly would use it."

"Kara, not everything has to be a competition with your cousin," Izuku said.

"You don't have cousins, Greenie, this is part of the dynamic. Besides, I'm not a fan of playing things 'low key' as you know. I mean, think of all the stuff we could pull off with our powers being cut loose."

"Probably a lot of broken bones in my case," Izuku muttered, imagining going all out with One For All.

"I'm serious Greenie, you need to loosen up." Kara said, hitting Izuku's shoulder in a playful manner. "You're not made out of glass."

Izuku smiled as he rubbed his punched shoulder.

Just then Kara picked up the sound of a ringing alarm. She turned to the window and looked ahead with her super eyes. She spotted three thieves running out of a jewelry store with a getaway driver waiting in for them.

"Oh yeah, finally some excitement!" Kara said, pulling Izuku to the window. "I bet we can go get the thieves and be back by the time my goody goody cousin makes it back!"

"I don't know Kara, maybe we should tell Clark before we leave," Izuku said.

"Come on, he won't know we just snuck out. Besides we can't let bad guys get away without punishment."

Izuku sighed. He hated when Kara used his sense of right and wrong to make him do something that he didn't want to. He took in a deep breath before turning to Kara.

"Alright, we go and then come back. We don't fool around."

"Yes!" Kara said, fist pumping in the air. "Let's go!"

Kara grabbed Izuku and using her super speed, she sped through the office and back to the elevators. She put Izuku into one just as it was going down before stepping inside herself. She waited for the door to close before she tore off her shirt to reveal her costume.

Back at the Lexcorp laboratory, Luthor smiled as the ideas on how to use the satellite system to his advantage pooled in his head. He liked to appear like a refined young man that stood above the common masses, but he always wanted more. More power, more influence and more of everything that others thought he didn't need.

"Sir, are you sure this is needed?" The head scientist asked.

"Of course, we don't want the energy to be wasted," Lex replied. "We have to show just how powerful the energy that's being stored is."

"But to unleash so much energy… It could cause a lot of damage if focused on such a small spot," the scientist replied.

"Then get it working," Lex snapped. "What about the alterations I asked?"

"The color and radiation control are working as you've instructed, Mr. Luthor."

"Well, that's great," a voice called from behind the group.

The group turned around to see a man wearing a grey suit with copper colored circuitry, a copper colored belt and a black t-shaped visor. He held a pistol in his hand and aimed it at Luthor and the rest of the scientists.

"Who or what are you supposed to be?" Lex asked.

"You don't remember me, do ya Lex? Well, here's a reminder," the figure said, firing his pistol.

However, it wasn't a bullet that the pistol fired. It was a blast of light that transformed into a solid light cage.

"What is this?" Lex asked, trying to push his way out of the cage.

"That's a solid light cage. Remember me now, Luthor?" He asked. "Although you might know me for my project's name. Luminus."

"Luminus?" Lex asked, before he recognized the name. "You're Edward Lytener."

"I go by Luminus now, Luthor! Glad to see that my work has been put to good use, after you stole it from me," Luminus growled in anger.

"You say steal, I say contract protected patent. As an employee of the company, your work was mine to use as I saw fit." Lex said with a bit of an air of arrogance. "Not my fault that you decided to turn into a whistleblower and I had to fire you."

Luminus aimed his pistol at the light cage once more and fired. The cage began to shrink, causing Lex, Mercy and the scientists to get a little too close for comfort.

"If you want money, I'm sure we can come to an understanding!" Lex yelped as his face was crushed against the light cage.

"This isn't about money, this is about satisfaction." Luminus sneered, walking to the control panel. "I'm going to make you pay, by destroying everything you own. And to send Big Blue a message." He said as he typed away different commands.

Up in space the satellites began to turn and align around the city. They created a large circle, using their solar absorbing lenses to block out the light of the sun. And turning it into a red lit color.

"Now, we will have some fun," Luminus said in a sinister fashion.

Back in Metropolis, Deku and Supergirl chased after the armed car with the jewelry robbers firing on them.

Supergirl flew after them while Deku used One For All to jump after them. While Deku dodged the bullets, Supergirl kept her force going all the way through.

"See? Told you this would be more fun," Supergirl said as the bullets bounced off of her.

"Getting shot at isn't my idea of fun, Supergirl," Deku replied, ducking under one of the bullets. "We need to disarm them before we stop their car."

"I got it!" Supergirl said, charging in.

The robbers continued firing, but to no avail.

Supergirl flew past them and landed in front of the car, holding up her hand. She slammed down her hand against the car, crushing the motor, bumper, hood and the front window of the car.

The robbers were sent flying out of the car along with their loot. They screamed as they got closer to the pavement. They closed their eyes and got ready for the worst.

However, the worst never came.

They opened their eyes and saw that they were only a few inches from the street pavement. The robbers looked up and saw that Deku had caught them with his Black Whip.

Deku pulled back his Black Whip, dropping the robbers on the ground before the police arrived.

"They are all yours, officers!" Deku said as the police put the cuffs on the robbers.

"Yeah, no need to thank us," Supergirl added. "All in a day's work."

"You kidding me? That girl nearly painted the street with our faces!" One of the robbers snapped.

"Yeah, why don't you leave the saving to Superman?! He at least doesn't get people nearly killed!" Another robber added.

Supergirl growled at the robbers, making them shiver.

Deku placed a hand on her shoulder.

"We should go," Deku said.

Supergirl huffed as she and Deku left the area.

As they made their way back, Deku could tell that Supergirl was still upset about something.

"You don't have to pay attention to them, Supergirl. I think you did a great job back there," Deku said, hoping to make her feel better.

"Thanks Greenie, but it doesn't change anything. I mean, I get it. Use powers responsibly and all that," Supergirl said. "But it's not like I can just turn them on and off whenever I want to. They are part of who I am and I shouldn't have to be forced to act or behave a certain way to meet with the standards of others. It's not my fault that they are powerless!"

Deku looked down with a sadden stare.

Supergirl noticed that and stopped herself.

"Greenie, I'm sorry. I didn't mean it like that," Supergirl said.

"No, it's alright, Kara. I know you didn't mean it, but you haven't been in their spot before," Deku said as they stopped at the edge of a building. "Back in Japan, being quirkless isn't very common. And people that are labeled as such are seen as people that don't matter. Back in my old middle school, I was surrounded by other kids with awesome abilities while I was stuck as the odd one out. Even the quirk of pulling out your eyes was more desirable than being quirkless."

Supergirl kept her eyes on her green-haired love, feeling a mixture of anger and wanting to hug him.

"I know that it isn't fair, but those with powers-even lame ones-are seen as potential heroes than those without quirks. I got lucky when I met All Might and became the next successor of One For All. But I understand what they feel when they meet someone like us," Deku explained. "I know what it's like to be powerless."

"Well… you're not!" Supergirl snapped. "Sure you weren't born with a quirk, but you still have that big head of yours. You could've been a hero back in Japan if you just set your mind to it. Those that looked down on you are idiots I'm sure."

Deku smiled.

"Thanks Kara," Deku said, hugging the tough blonde.

Supergirl blushed. She always felt butterflies in her stomach whenever Deku told her those sweet words.

However, as they were talking the sky above them turned red like rubies.

The two young heroes looked up with uncertainty.

"What happened?" Deku asked.

"Don't know but I'm pretty sure that this has Lex Luthor in the middle of it." Supergirl replied.

"Supergirl, I don't think this has anything to do with Lex Luthor," Deku replied when suddenly all the screens of Metropolis showed the face of Luminus.

"People of Metropolis, my name is Luminus. And I have used the satellites of Lexcorp to blanket our city into a special theater scene for our beloved Man of Steel. I challenge him to face me one on one at the top of Lexcorp tower in two hours. And if he doesn't show up, I'll use Luthor's own toys to destroy this city. Brick by brick. See you soon, Superman."

Luminus said, cutting his transmission.

"Well at least we know where to go," Supergirl said.

"We need to get to Superman before time runs out," Deku added.

"Then let's go!" Supergirl agreed, jumping in the air.

But instead of flying away, she felt the pull of gravity dragging her down to the street. Supergirl was falling and couldn't figure out why.

"Supergirl!" Deku called out, jumping after her.

Supergirl flapped her arms, trying to remain afloat but was still falling. She screamed and covered her face, hoping for a soft landing.

Just then Deku pulled up to her and picked her up in his arms. He landed them safely, creating a small crater in the street under them. He looked at his friend with worry. He'd seen Supergirl take off so many times that he assumed she had it down to a t. But this was different.

Supergirl's eyes were darting from side to side. She held onto Deku like a scared kitten that had just been brought down from a burning tree.

"Supergirl, are you alright?" Deku asked.

"Y-Yeah, I am." She muttered. "That's never happened before."

Deku put Supergirl back on her feet. She was still shaken and was holding on to her lover with her hands full strength. She snapped when she realized that she could've been crushing Deku's hand. But when she looked at his hand, it looked fine.

"Greenie, how hard do you think I'm holding you?" Supergirl asked.

"It feels like a normal handshake," Deku commented, before realizing what Supergirl meant. "We need to get back to the Planet." He said, picking up Supergirl in his arms.

Although Supergirl didn't love the sudden loss of her powers, she had to admit that she was enjoying being carried by her lover. She was used to being the stronger one in their relationship, but being on the more delicate end tugged at her heartstrings.

The two heroes made their way back to the Daily Planet, taking some time for Kara to put her normal clothes back on.

They entered the office floor through the stairs.

"How do people get their clothes on so quickly without superspeed?" Kara asked as she tugged an All Might shirt on. "Thanks for lending me a spare shirt."

"You're welcome, Kara. Maybe this is a good argument to not tear off your shirt," Deku chimed.

"Don't knock it till you try it, Greenie." Kara said before looking at the reporters running back and forth.

The reporters were all in shock and unsure of what was going on.

Izuku and Kara spotted Clark talking with Lois and their photographer Jimmy Olsen.

"Hey, cus, what's going on?" Kara asked as they approached the group.

"Oh, hey guys, thought we lost you for a minute there." Clark replied. "The whole city's in a panic and Mr. White wants to know the scoop before anyone else. We've been looking into the man making the demands."

"Hey, Smallville, stop telling the kids the story and start helping us write it," Lois snapped. "Sorry kids, but you'll have to go home. Things are a little more than you can handle."

Kara growled, but izuku placed a hand on her shoulder. She was not in a good mood and being told to move aside got on her nerves.

"I'll walk them out and get back to you guys," Clark said.

"Fine but don't get lost on the way," Lois sighed.

Clark took this chance to take both Izuku and Kara out of the floor and away from eavesdropping ears. They made it to the elevators before he started talking.

"Alright, Kal, who's the creep with the light show?" Kara asked. "And why does he have a beef with you? And what's wrong with my powers?!" She snapped.

"Ok, ok, calm down Kara." Izuku said, rubbing her shoulders to calm her down.

As Kara took in deep breathes, Clark let out a sigh.

"His name is Edward Lytener, a former Lexcorp employee. Lois made him turn into a whistleblower on the company. He got fired shortly after that." Clark explained. "He's an expert in light energy and manipulation. Tried to go into the supervillain business but I put a stop to him. He must've used his knowledge of light manipulation and the satellites to make this happen."

"But what exactly is happening? And how does it affect you and Kara?" Izuku asked.

"He's changed the light output from the satellites to create red sun light," Clark surmised. "We kinda lose our powers under a red sun."

"Aw man!" Kara moaned. "Ok, what's the plan?"

"What about the rest of your team?" Clark asked.

"Diana took them to a tournament on Themyscira." Izuku chimed in. "We're the only Titans available. But we're here to help as best as we can!"

Clark smiled.

"Good to see that Kara has at least some good taste on boyfriends," Clark added, getting an elbow from Kara. "I'll need your help to stop Edward Lytener. He'll be expecting me and while I keep him distracted, you'll have to free the prisoners and undo whatever he's done."

"You can count on us, Mr. Kent." Izuku said with a salute.

Kara smiled before shrugging off.

"No wonder he likes you, you are both dorks." Kara said.

The three entered the elevator with only one hour left to make Luminus' deadline.

Superman suited up and arrived at the entrance of the Lexcorp building. He was weakened by the red light, but he needed to keep his facade of the Man of Steel. He entered the building and walked straight to the elevator. Just as he was about to press the button, the speakers came alive.

"Ah, Superman. So good of you to come," Luminus said through the speakers. "I take it that you got my message?"

"The whole city got your message, Luminus. If this is between you and me, then let the city and the people of Metropolis go," Superman said.

"Tempting, but what guarantee do I have that the police or the other heroes won't come up here and try to take me out? No, better to have one ace in the whole." Luminus retorted. "Besides, we both know Luthor would've used this on you sooner or later."

"So you're just taking the pleasure from Luthor?" Superman asked.

"Partly. But enough chit chat, come up to the top and face me," Luminus dared. "Man to man."

Superman entered the elevator, hoping that all the cameras were set on him.

On the other side of the building, Deku and Supergirl were scurrying to find where the computers were.

Deku was at the front with Supergirl walking behind him, feeling a bit uneasy about the situation.

Deku looked out from the corner and spotted a camera right at the corner. If they were spotted, then the gig was up.

"Supergirl, do you have anything to cover up that camara?" Deku asked.

"No. Damn why didn't I grab one of Batgirl's utility belts," Supergirl groaned. "Those could come in pretty handy right now."

"Don't worry, we can always improvise," Deku said, looking for something they could use.

Just then, a small cleaning robot with a squirting liquid soap dispenser came up from behind them.

Deku picked up the robot and removed the soap dispenser. He aimed the squirter and struck the camera, blinding it.

"Cool trick," Supergirl said.

"Like you said, even without powers we still have ingenuity," Deku retorted. "All we gotta do is use it."

"Thanks, Greenie." Supergirl replied.

Deku gave Supergirl a thumbs up before they went on their way. As they ran through the hallways, the speakers came alive once more as Luminus was transmitting his fight with Superman.

"Just because I'm grateful to your part in all this, Luthor, you'll be able to see how I do what you could never get close to," Luminus said through the speakers.

All the screens inside the building turned on. It showed Superman and Luminus standing face to face at the top of the Lexcorp building.

"We gotta hurry!" Supergirl snapped.

Deku and Supergirl picked up the pace. They ran as fast as they could, making Supergirl curse bailing on gym class for so long. She was ripped but she used her powers more than her own muscles. She swore that she'd go on those training runs that Deku often went on after all this was over.

The two heroes made it to the elevators and quickly pressed the button. The elevator opened up, but it wasn't empty. Inside there was a large robot guard that was not looking happy. Its red eye glared at the two of them, probably angry because they crushed many of its brethren.

"Um, we were just looking for the bathroom," Supergirl chuckled.

"We'll take the next one," Deku added with a nervous laugh.

The security bot swung its metallic arm at the heroes, sending them back. The robot attacked them once more, forcing them to roll out of the way.

Deku called forth his power over One For All and attacked the robot head on, keeping its attention away from Supergirl. He kicked the robot's head, sending it back. He spun in the air for a second kick, but this gave the bot the opportunity to grab hold of Deku's leg. He was spun around in the air by the robot before being flung at the elevator door. Deku dropped down with the air knocked out of him as the robot aimed its wrist cannon at him.

Supergirl got back up and saw her friend and teammate in danger. She sprung at the robot and pulled its head back. She held onto the robot like a cowgirl would a wild bronco as the large piece of metal tried to get her off of it. Supergirl needed to get rid of the robot before it flung her off of it, but she was powerless. Just then, the robot grabbed hold of her and threw her to the floor. The blonde Kryptonian looked up as the robot aimed its cannon at her. She gulped but then noticed the squirt soap next to her. She remembered the words that Deku had shared with her.

"'Even without powers we still have ingenuity,'" Supergirl repeated.

She grabbed hold of the bottle of squirt soap and fired it at the robot's sensors.

The robot was blinded and unable to detect the intruders. It reached for its recognition sensors, but was unable to wipe off the soap.

Deku took this chance to get back to his feet. He got an idea.

"Supergirl, wanna help me take down this thing?!" Deku asked.

"You gotta ask, Greenie?!" Supergirl replied.

Deku charged at the robot from the back while Supergirl tackled it from the front. He kicked the robot's legs from behind and she knocked him off balance.

The robot fell down to the ground.

Supergirl then used this chance and pulled out some of the wires from the robot's neck.

"Nice going, Supergirl." Deku congratulated.

"Well, you watch enough action movies that you get some ideas." Supergirl shrugged off.

Deku smiled as he figured that their little talk had actually helped Supergirl.

They headed to the elevator and hit the button for the control room.

"I hope that Superman is doing alright," Deku said.

"Don't sweat it, Greenie. My cousin might be a dork but he's tougher than he looks," Supergirl replied.

Up at the top of the building, Superman was blasted away by Luminus' light gun. The shot was meant to hurt, as part of Luminus' desire to savor his victory over Superman. The Man of Steel held his chest in pain, panting like a sprinter. He looked up at his opponent as it fired one more time. Superman rolled out of the way, dodging the shot by the skin of his teeth.

"We don't need to do this Luminus," Superman pleaded. "You're holding the city for something that Luthor did."

"This isn't just about Luthor, this is about you putting me away when I wanted satisfaction!" Luminus snarled. "Besides, having revenge and robbing Lex from his victory is too good to pass up!" He screamed, firing his light pistol once more.

Superman ducked under the shot before getting behind one of the large solar panels. He moved the black glass, using it as a makeshift shield.

"I wonder what's taking those two so long?" Superman asked as the light blasts were reflected by the solar panels.

Back with Deku and Supergirl they arrived at the floor where the control panel and the hostages were. They got out of the elevator only to find the door to the control center being locked.

"Ok, how do we get in?" Supergirl asked.

"There's got to be a way in," Deku mused, noticing a hand scan on the side of the door. "Here's something."

They looked at the hand scanner.

"Great, but now we need the hand of someone that can open it," Supergirl said.

"Yeah, but we don't have time to look for someone to help us get in," Deku muttered. "There's got to be a way in which Luminus got in without having access to this place. Could he have used someone else's hand to get in? No, there are no traces of severed hands around then he must've used something else…"

"Um, Greenie," Supergirl said. "As cute as it is to see you go in those mutters, we are a bit pressed for time. I think I've got an idea."

Deku looked at Supergirl with curiosity.

Supergirl looked at the hand scanner and noticed that there were some leftover hand prints. She smiled as she let out a moist breath on the scanner.

The leftover handprint was now visible and scannable. The door opened up shortly afterwards.

"Wow, Supergirl, how did you do that?" Deku asked.

"I saw it in a movie once," Supergirl shrugged.

"That was very ingenious," Deku congratulated Supergirl. "Told you you were just as capable without your powers as with them."

Supergirl blushed at his comment. She was so going to thank him for that later.

The two heroes entered the room and found Lex Luthor and the rest of the hostages all inside a box made out of light.

"How did you two heroes get in here?" Luthor snarled as his face was pressed against the box.

"You're welcome for us busting you out," Supergirl hissed.

"We'll get you out in a second, all of you," Deku said as he looked for the source of the cage.

Just then they heard a shout coming from the monitor behind the cage. The two heroes spotted Superman barely managing.

Superman was being shot at, as he held a solar panel for protection, by Luminus. The Man of Steel was getting closer to the edge of the building.

"We gotta help him!" Supergirl urged.

"What about me?!" Luthor groaned.

Deku looked at the controls, wondering if he could undo what Luminus had done. But he didn't have time to figure out what each button on the console did. Then an idea came into his mind.

"Any ideas?" Supergirl asked.

"Just one," Deku said, channeling OFA through his body. "I'm taking a page from your book, Supergirl." He claimed lifting his leg up.

Supergirl smiled as she knew what he meant.

"Wait! No! Don't you dare!" Luthor demanded.

However, his threats fell on deaf ears.

"Smash!" Deku called out as he brought down an axe kick on the console.

As the controls were crushed, the satellites were cut off from their orders and became inactive. The light of the sun was able to pass through and the red sunlight was no longer covering the city.

Back at the top of the Lexcorp building, the light of the yellow sun had caught Luminus by surprise.

"What? No!" Luminus cried out.

As soon as the sunlight touched Superman's skin, he felt recharged. He felt how his strength and powers were coming back to him.

"Looks like your great equalizer has been lifted, Luminus." Superman said as he stepped towards the supervillain.

Luminus aimed his pistol and tried to fire it, but Superman took it from his hand.

Superman crushed the weapon in his hand.

Luminus tried to run, but Superman caught him by the hem of his suit.

"You'll be spending some time behind bars for that stunt," Superman said.

Back at the control center, the destruction of the pistol caused the light prison to disappear.

Luthor, Mercy and his scientists fell down with a series of groans.

"Do you know how much you just cost me?" Luthor snarled.

"Um, sorry. But we did save the city and Luminus was stopped." Deku replied.

"Forget him Greenie, let's go catch up with Superman and get going," Supergirl said, pulling Deku out of the room. "Bye Lex." She said, mockingly.

Luthor could only growl at the sight of the heroes leaving the room.

After leaving Luminus with the police, Clark, Izuku and Kara were eating three hot dogs at a park.

"I just texted Lois and told her I've got the story," Clark said.

"That must've ticked her off," Kara chided.

"Yeah, she did give me an earful but she'll get over it," Clark replied.

"At least, Luminus and Luthor won't be able to use those satellites to hurt anyone," Izuku added.

"Yeah, that's a good thing. You two were a big help. I can't imagine you had any easier a job than I did," Clark mentioned.

"It was hard without my powers, but I had a great partner to help me out," Kara said, causing Izuku to blush.

Kara then kissed Izuku on the cheek.

"Thanks for sticking with me, and for saving my skin," Kara added, blushing slightly.
