Part 46
At the lakeview Rosanna came in and sat down at the bar when Lily appeared and sat down next to her;" Thanks for meeting me here, Rosanna."
"You're welcome. But to be honest I am a bit curious as to why you asked me to meet you here again." answered she;" And why I couldn't tell Carly about it."
"After we had lunch I had a business meeting here. Afterwards I was about to go home when I saw Dusty coming out of the elevator." began Lily hesitating;" He wasn't alone."
"And why is that important enough to tell me?" asked her friend confused;" Who was he with, Lily?"
"With Janet." replied she;" I saw them coming out of the elevator and they looked pretty close."
"Maybe they had lunch together?" said Rosanna, who was not sure what to think of the whole thing;" We had lunch here too today."
"Yes, I know we did. But we had lunch in the restaurant and Dusty came from upstairs." answered her friend;" They most likely came from up in his room. And they seemed to be on very friendly terms. In fact they seemed to have only eyes for each other."
"What exactly do you want me to do with this information?" asked she a bit thrown;" Do you want me to tell Carly or Jack about what his wife is doing with Dusty?"
"I don't know." sighed Lily;" I was surprised to see them together, coming out of the elevator like that. I didn't know what to do with that information, so I thought that maybe the best thing was to tell you first and then decide what to do. I used to tell Holden things like that, but that's out of the question now and I didn't know who else to call."
"I'm glad you called me and maybe we should think about this first before telling Carly or Jack." answered her friend;" We need to be sure that Janet and Dusty really did do something wrong before we tell anybody else, Lily."
"You're right." said she;" But if it is true then it would mean that it wouldn't be that hard for Jack to get a divorce and for him to get Janet to sign those papers."
"It would make things less difficult for him if his wife was cheating on him with Dusty. But we need to be sure first." replied Rosanna;" Before we do anything about it!"
While Rosanna was talking to Lily her sister was making dinner at home, totally unaware about what was going on at the lakeview, when Jack came into the kitchen;" Do you need a hand?"
"No, I'm almost done." answered Carly without even turning around;" Where's Sage?"
"She's watching tv and I called the boys. They will be here in less than ten minutes." replied her ex as he made Carly turn around and face him;" Are you okay, Carly? Do you want me to go?"
"I'm fine and you don't have to go." said she with a faint smile when she saw the disbelief in his eyes;" I'm fine, Jack. I really am."
"Do you know how much I love you, lady?" asked Jack in a hoarse voice as he moved in closer to Carly, nearly pinning her up against the sink;" We will be together again, as a family!"
"I hope so." answered his ex softly, hardly able to keep looking at jack and not shiver down her spine by the way that he was staring at her;" And I love you too, G-man."
"We will." promised he and gently placed a kiss on her cheek;" You're mine!"
"Jack…." sighed Carly as she pushed him away, with regret;" We can't do this! Sage is home and the boys will be home soon enough too."
"I know." smiled her ex, gave her another kiss on her cheek and walked away;" I can wait."
As jack walked away Carly stood there, leaning up against the sink, trying to catch her breath and a part of her wished that Jack would come back.
