Jay's POV: it's been a couple months since Christmas and we had amazing time at the cabin with my brother Natalie and the kids, when the first of the year came along we all learned that Adam and Haley suddenly got married on New Year's Eve we all were happy for them me and Erin decided over Christmas to start trying for another baby. Couple weeks ago Vanessa and Kevin all told us that they were pregnant everyone is so happy for them, Erin was kind of sad that it was her that wasn't her announcing that she was pregnant with another baby, but later that day we seem to find out that we actually were pregnant. We learned that after she got shot in the shoulder. We were so happy to have another baby and Erin was happy to be pregnant with one of her friends, right now Erin is 13 weeks pregnant with our newest little nugget she is at home resting since her shoulder still is hurting her right now the unit is working on a case to stop some dangerous drug dealers
AR= hey boss everyone
HV= what do you got Adam
AR= I finally found a location on them
AD= are we sure they are there
AR= yes someone's front door ring camera Cut them about 10 minutes ago going inside and never came out yet
HU= Way to go Adam
HV= all right guys suit up
We all get out you're on and head out to location once we arrive Hank tells us what to do
AD= what are we doing boss
HV= jay and kim go in the front door everyone else go through the back door once inside, Antonio you and Kevin take upstairs Adam and Haley take the basement while Kim and Jay search the main floor

KB= I don't think these assholes have bathe or even feed this little boy in sometime
J= I know sad hey Kim how about you take my gun invest in leave maybe he'll come out if I don't look so scary to him
KB= good idea I will have some blankets and something to eat for this little guy once he comes home

KB= no problem I'll tell you want to let you be ( she grabs Jay's stuff and leaves)
J= hey buddy I'm just gonna sit right here when you're ready you can come out ( 15 minutes later) well my name is Jay what is yours ( two minutes later)
PJ= my name is Porter
J= it's nice to meet you Porter can you tell me how old you are buddy
PJ= I'm two
J= well that's cool you know my daughter is 100 age maybe you could meet Her, Porter are you hungry
PJ= yes I am
J= how about you come to me and I can get you some food maybe get you cleaned up too
PJ= I am scared
J= why are you scared buddy
PJ= those bad men are out there
J= don't worry about them I'm a police officer I will protect you from them
PJ= you promise
J= I promise I will always protect you if you meet my wife she will tell you I always keep my promises so can you come out now
PJ= all right ( walks to jay)
J= all right let's get you out of here and get you some food and some clean clothes
PJ= okay jay
J= Hank I'm coming out I got a little boy in my arms
HV= Great work Halsted
At the car
J= hey Kevin can you do me a favor
KA= sure thing what's up
J= get in my truck and grab my car seat I have in there he's a little guy he can fit and it right now
KA= all right buddy ( he gets it) now what
J= hey Porter buddy can you go with my buddy Kevin
PJ= no I want to stay with you ( tighten his grip on Jay )
AR= jay that little guy doesn't seem like he wants to let go of you
J= yeah I think we became best friends in there
HU= we can tell
J= hey Potter do you trust me
PJ= yes I do
J= okay Kevin is a good guy believe me besides it's only going to be for a few seconds okay
PJ= okay
KA= come here little guy ( takes Porter in his arms )
J= ( start putting the car seat in the car) no Kevin you might want to watch him take lessons and you'll be doing this stuff in here in a couple months
KA= ha ha very funny jay it's not hard to figure out anyways
J= you say that now but trust me it's harder than it looks
KA= whatever you say
J= all right it's in the car now it's time to get you in there come here buddy ( jay puts Porter in the car seat)
KA= is there anything else I can do for you
J= actually there is
KA= what do you need
J= I don't think this little guy doesn't want me to leave his side anymore so I need someone to drive my car while I sit back here with him so can you do that for me
KA= of course I can
We all load up into the cars and head back to the district. Once we get back I take Porter into the bathroom to get cleaned up after I take care of him and get new clothes on him, I go and get him some food and something to drink. About an hour later he falls asleep on the bike and couch so I take this as my time to do my paperwork for this case
HV= hey halstead you got a second
J= yeah sure what's up
HV= detective Jay halstead this is Chelsea Mitchell she is a social worker at DCFS
CM= Nice to meet you Detective
J= same here Miss Mitchell
HV= she is the social worker that is assigned to Porter's case
J= so what can you tell us about that little guy over there ( points to him)
CM= well his full name is Porter Jacob Scott he is two years old his birthday is September 24 his parents Daniel and Carol Scott were very loving parents at first. But Carol suffered postpartum depression and she started to do drugs to help with the pain so the father joined in after a while so the kid has had a bad life since he was almost a year old
HV= Poor little kid
J= does he have any relatives or family members that someone can take care of him
CM= sadly none of them have any siblings so this little boy would have to go into foster care since both parents are dead now.
HV= that sucks
J= does he have to go in right now
CM= sadly he does once he wakes up
HV= all right thanks Chelsea
CM= no problem Hank I'll be here until he wakes up
HV= all right
While we wait for Porter to wake up I get the rest of my paperwork done , after I was done I decide and call and check in on Erin to make sure she was taking it easy. I also was telling her about Porter. About an hour later Porter finally wakes up
J= hey buddy how are you
PJ= good
J= do you remember who I am
PJ= you are Jay
J= that's right ( waves Chelsea over to come in) so there is someone I would like you to meet
PJ= oh yeah
J= so Porter this is my friend Chelsea
CM= hey Porter nice to meet you
PJ= hello
J= so buddy you have to go with Miss Chelsea now
CM= yeah we got to go and see your new family are you ready to go porter
PJ= no !
J= I promise you will have so much fun buddy with your new family
PJ= no I want to stay with you
CM= you can't buddy you have to go with me
PJ= no I want to stay with Jay ( starts screaming)
J= oh buddy it will be okay ( grabs onto Jay super tightly)
HV= hey Chelsea can I talk to you for second
CM= sure thing ( to jay) be right back
PJ= I don't want to go with her
J= it will be OK buddy you are going to a safe place you don't have to worry about the bad guys there either
PJ= I want to stay with you
( with Chelsea and hank)
HV= it seems like he doesn't want to go
CM= no he doesn't but he hast to go
HV= so Chelsea how long have you been a social worker
CM= for about 15 years or more why do you ask
HV= have you ever seen a child ever not want to go with you before or have one piece so attached to a male
CM= no I haven't
HV= How about for the night we let him go with Jay tonight and figure something out tomorrow.
CM= voight you know that's not the rules
HV= I know but come on trust me Jay is a good guy
CM= i'm not saying he's a good guy it's just I have rules to follow
HV= I know you do but Jay is married to someone I consider to be my daughter I don't know if you remember a girl name Erin Lindsay about 10 to 15 years ago
CM= let's see Erin Lindsay ( starts thinking about it in her head) oh yeah I never worked on her case I remember her because how
Horrible her mother was. Wow she's a detective now
HV= yes she is a very good one she is married to Jay and have a beautiful little girl who is a year old now and they are expecting another little one soon
CM= wow that's amazing to hear I'm so happy that she has an amazing life now compared to what she came from
HV= yes so how about you let Porter go home with Jay tonight and tomorrow you can figure out something out for Porter then
CM= all right I can do that but I'm only doing it because of you Hank I trust you the most
HV= all right thanks let's go tell them
( in the break room)
CM= hey guys
J= hey Chelsea
PJ= I don't want to go
CM= hey buddy I got some good news you don't have to come with me now
J= he doesn't
CM= well I talk to your boss and he convinced me to let Porter go home with you we will figure out what to do with him tomorrow when you come back in
J= all right that works
CM= so Porter how would you like to go home with Jay tonight
PJ= yes please
J= well I guess we better get you home ( picks him up and starts to leave)
HV= hey Halsted
J= yeah boss
HV= take your time coming in in the morning let Porter get settled
J= all right will do
HV= also kiss Camryn for me and say hi to Erin
J= well do bye hank
HV= bye jay bye Porter
PJ= bye
We leave and head home before we get home how do you say to stop and grab some pizza for me Porter and Erin since I bet she hasn't eaten today. We arrive home within 30 minutes
J= hey buddy do you want to walk or would you like me to carry you
PJ= I can walk
J= all right let's go meet Erin
PJ= okay
( inside the house)
J= hey Erin i'm home
E= hey Babe who is this little guy
J= well first off let me put the pizza down
E= all right
J= well this little guy is Porter
E= Nice to meet you Porter ( bends down to Porter's level) I'm Erin ( Porter hides behind jay's legs)
J= ( bends down) hey Porter it's okay Erin is super nice she isn't going to hurt you I promise you and what did I say about my promises
PJ= that you don't break them
J= that's right
E= ( reaches her hand out) hi Porter I'm Erin
PJ= hello
J= hey where is Camryn
E= she is playing in the living room
J= all right how about I take portal with me to meet Camryn well you get everyone some pizza because I bet this little guy is hungry
E= Great idea because I'm starving too
( in the living)
J= hey baby girl
CN= daddy ( runs to him)
J= were you a good girl for mommy today
CN= yes
J= that's good to hear so Camryn this is Porter can you say hi to him
CN= hello
J= now Porter this is my daughter Camryn can you say hi to her
PJ= hello
E= all right who's hungry
CN= me!
J= I'm sure am Porter are you hungry
PJ= yes I am
J= all right let's eat
We eat our pizza once we were all done me and Erin watched Camryn and Porter play together
E= so how did you get to take him home
J= well when the social worker came to get him to put in a foster home for the night he didn't want to leave my side so Hank convinced her to let Porter come with me for tonight and we can work everything out tomorrow
E= that's pretty cool
J= yeah that little boy was so scared when I found him in the house
E= I hope that he was at least he had you to feel safe because I always feel safe when I'm with you
J= come here ( she does) I love you
E= I love you too
J= so what are we going to do Porter tonight like where is he going to be sleeping
E= how about tonight we bring Camryn into our room and put put her in her bed
J= that works for me how about you give Camryn A bath while I get everything ready for Porter
E= that works a Porter do you want to come help me give Camryn A bath
PJ= sure
J= All right you guys have fun
E= oh we will
I go and get Camryn's room set up for Porter while Camryn gets a bath. Once I get the room set up I go and grab some clothes for Camryn and wait for them to be done in our room. About 10 minutes later Camryn was out of the bath so I put Porter to bed while Erin gets Camryn ready for bed. I join her toward the end of the night time routine. About an hour later we all are fast asleep .
Erin's POV: it's been a couple months into the new year and it's been great it's been a couple weeks since I got shot in the shoulder luckily it wasn't A bad recovery while we were at med getting my bullet wound checked out, they ran all the normal test on us and that's when we learned that we were pregnant again. I kind of hate it that I learned it that way but at the same time I'm happy to learn that I was having another baby. Yesterday as I was still resting from my gun shot wound Jay called and told me that he found a little boy and he that house and later that night he brought the boy home because he had nowhere else to go besides the boy was super attached to him. Which I don't blame the little boy at home because sometimes I feel like I don't want Jay to leave my side. Right now it's the morning time I actually wake up before everyone because I felt a little sick once I was good I decide to go make some breakfast for everyone about 10 minutes into making breakfast I feel too strong hands wrap around my waist
J= good morning beautiful
E= oh my God jay halsted don't you ever known never sneak up on a pregnant woman
J= nope nobody has ever told me that
E= well they should
J= i'm sorry but my wife looked super hot cooking making some breakfast. So what are you making by the way
E= just making some breakfast and eggs something simple
J= sounds good so how long have you been up
E= for about 20 minutes now
J= I hope Porter or Camryn didn't wake you up
E= No they didn't wake me up I woke up by something else
J= you did what was it
E= I had a little morning sickness this morning
J= I thought you were able to bypass it this pregnancy
E= I thought so too but it snuck up on me
J= well how do you feel now
E= I feel a lot better
J= that's good to hear song is the food almost ready
E= yes it is so when do we have to go into work this morning
J= when we feel like it and did you just say we meaning you are coming in with me to work
E= yes I am in that's good to know
J= i'm i'm surprise either of them haven't woken up yet
E= ( hears them) looks like you jinxed us because I hear them both
J= all right I'll go get them while you finish up

While jay goes and gets Porter and Camryn I finish us breakfast. About an hour later after we all eat a breakfast and play with the kids for a while we decide to get ready and head into work. I decide to drive since Porter is still a little scared of me and only trust jay. We arrive at work within 20 minutes
P= hey guys how are you doing Erin
J= hey platt
E= I'm fine platt thanks for asking
P= it's no problem hey little miss Camryn
J= can you say hi to Platt Camryn
CN= hello platt
P= that was cute
J= sarge is the team upstairs or are they doing something
P= they are upstairs doing paperwork like always
E= all right we will go see them

CN= uncle Kevin ( runs to him)
AR= what are we chopped liver
AD= I guess we are
VR= Who knows when I have this baby you might be the favorite uncle finally Adam
AR= let's hope so
AD= so Erin how are you feeling after the gun shot wound and how is the baby
E= I am feeling fine and me and the baby are doing great thanks for asking Antonio
AD= no problem

HV= now where is my granddaughter at

E= it went pretty well
J= he warmed up to Erin

HV= so did you figure out what you are going to do with Porter

CM= well one of the options has to do with you two

CM= well how would you guys like to foster a Porter for a while

E= I never even thought about fostering any kids at all but now having the thought in my head it would be nice to foster a child like how Hank and Camille did for me
J= but Erin our life is crazy our jobs are nonstop we have a child and we have another one on the way we don't need another child to take care of at this moment.
E= I know we do Jay but tell me that little boy didn't already catch your heart
J= okay maybe he did
E= see I know you too well also have you seen a little boy or even a little girl that becomes so attached to a male cop over a female one
J= okay you got a point there Erin but are we ready for another kid already we still got a while before we have this little one ( puts hand on her belly)
E= I know but I don't like seeing little kids like Porter have a bad life and I know we can give him a pretty good life because we are pretty great team together so what do you think Jay should we foster him
J= did I ever tell you that you are a super woman
E= no you haven't but but you aren't so bad yourself super dad
J= whatever but I do love you
E= I love you too ( they kiss ) so we are fostering Porter
J= we are fostering Porter let's go to Chelsea the great news
E= all right let's go
( in the break room)
CM= so did you guys come up with a decision
E= yes we did
HV= so what did you decide
J= we decided that we will foster Porter
CM= that's great to hear
E= so is there any paperwork we need to do
CM= there is but I can have you guys do the paperwork later
J= all right
HV= jay and Erin you guys don't have to work today why don't you take the kids home and spend some time with Porter and get him used to being with you guys
E= are you sure Hank we just got here
HV= i'm sure heck even take the next week off to get used to you guys as a family of four now
J= all right thanks hank see you Chelsea
CM= see ya bye guys ( Erin and jay leave )
HV= did you even have another option for Porter or did you lied to them
CM= wait how did you figure that out
HV= come on on the leader of this group intelligence unit how can I not
CM= well I had a feeling that Jay would be fostering that little boy after last night.
HV= yeah I have the same feeling
CM= it works out then well I guess I will get out of your hair so you can get back to your police stuff

Once we decided that we were going to foster a quarter tank give us the next week off so we could get settled into the new life of being a family of four. So we took the kids and headed home we started to stop at the store and buy some things recorder like clothes and toys that he would like. Once we spent a couple hours at the store we headed home we also stopped and grab some food when we got home both kids went down for a nap so me and Jay ate the food alone .
J= are we sure we can do this whole fostering a child while having Camryn and having another little baby on the way
E= yes I'm sure we got this besides it's kind of gets us ready for having two kids before this one is born
J= that's A good point so I have another question I'm wondering about
E= sure what is it
J= what are we going to do with the sleeping arrangements with them both
E= well maybe we can have Camryn sleep in our room for a while and have porter sleep in her room for now
J= how long do you think we can have Camryn in our bed
E= I don't know we will figure it out are you worried we won't have any time to play scrabble when our daughter is in our bed with us
J= no I am not
E= come on Jay tell me the truth
J= fine maybe I'm a little worried we won't have any time for ourselves with Camryn sleeping in our room
E= oh believe me there is other places in this house we can play scrabble and besides maybe after a while Porter and Camryn can bond were they can both sleep in the same room.
J= all right that works for me
E= goodwill speaking of playing scrabble how about we play it on this couch since we have our daughter in our room fast asleep
J= oh I like your idea
We play a couple of round of scrabble on the couch, eventually we were tired enough so fall asleep and start dreaming of what life will be like raising two kids while waiting on the third to be born.
