A/N- Sorry for the wait. I had a really bad last couple months. I wanted to get this done back in November, but unfortunately I had to put down my hedgehog Pickles due to mouth and jaw cancer. That was a really hard time for me, Pickles was with me through so much the last almost 4 years. I'm doing good now, I miss the little guy like crazy, but my baby hedgehog Mochi is getting so many loves and is so spoiled.
I also just had to replace my computer due to the damn thing finally giving out, so I had to completely re-write this chapter. Hopefully with this new IPad I can finally get writing more without having to fight with a computer constantly.
Also, I'm dumb… I found a chapter in my computer of Laxus and Tawna before they started dating. A part of a chapter that was supposed to go before the one where they actually start dating. I'm dumb. I'm gonna have to find a flashback time to put it in or something.

Chapter 47
"Welcome!" Chapati shouts over the screams and cheers of Day four's overly excited crowd. Balloons, and confetti cover the playing field, blowing through the breeze scattering the colorful paper through the stands and team balconies. As the teams await the announcement the day's competition. "We are going to start of today's competition with a splash!" he announces, "One competitor from each team get suited up, it's time for the NAVAL BATTLE!"
Lacrama vison sprawls across the sky labeling Naval Battle, as the officials wait of teams to make their decisions. Though one team has an easy choice. Fairy Tail Team B smirk between one another before their eyes land on their pink haired Dragon Slayer.
"Hell yeah!" Tawna grins hearing the name of the game, "Leave this to me," She says flashing her mischievous smirk, stand in front of Laxus.
"Go get us some points, Calico," Gajeel smirks crossing his arms next to their second water mage.
"Go show them what Fairy Tail Water Mages' can do." Juvia smiles sweetly. She would have loved to do this competition, but she did take day one's contest, so this only fair.
"Go kick some ass," Laxus grins to his short girlfriend. Tawna's Dragneel smirk doesn't leave her face as she runs toward the door.
"With pleasure," She grins running to get changed. This is the competition she has been waiting for. She is actually thankful Juvia took Day One's competition from her, then she wouldn't have gotten the chance to do this one. She quickly makes her way to the changing room, and there waiting for her is her dark purple bikini. Double knotting the ties, and braiding her long hair to the side, she hurries to the tunnel, being the first competitor.
"We already have our first competitor!" Chapati announces looking at the name that has appeared on his notes, "Oh we are in for a fight today, folks. From Fairy Tail Team B we have, Katawna Dragneel!" The audience cheers as Tawna's face and name card appears above the field, as the petite Dragon Slayer takes her mark on the field.
"It looks like Team B caught on to the hint and sent out one of their two water wizards." Yajima smirks, knowing Fairy Tail would be strategic in who they chose to compete. Tawna smirks seeing the faces on Team A drop seeing which one they sent out, well except for Natsu's.
"Let me go, I wanna fight my sister!" He shouts fired up, only to be held back by Gray.
"It's called Naval Battle," Gray rolls his eyes, "This isn't a fire wizard's competition." He huffs annoyed. Tawna can't help but chuckle hearing the argument erupting for Team A, trying to decide which of them to send.
"Oh wow," Chapati cheers, "More competitors have decided to join the party. Jenny from Blue Pegasus, Risley of Mermaid Heel, Sherria from Lamia Scale!" He announces excited to see all the female competitors stepping forward to compete. "And Rocker from Quatro Puppy." He adds at the end mumbling at the only male.
"What's that supposed to mean!" Rocker shouts, shaking his fist hearing little to no enthusiasm in his name announcement.
Tawna stands arms crossed in front of her chest as the other wizards take the field. Thanking herself for double knotting her bikini strings, cause she heard about a couple of the girls getting catty at the pool the night before, so hopefully no funny business happens here. The other competitors line up near her, with Jenny the closest to her side. She already knows Jenny chose to come out here solely due to the fact Tawna came out herself. The strange rivalry that came between them due to a single crashed photoshoot, is petty to say the least.
"Lucy Heartfilia from Fairy Tail Team A!" Chapati yells excitedly, as Tawna's fellow Guild member runs onto the field in her white bathing suit.
"So, what did it take to get Natsu to shut up," Tawna chuckles as Lucy takes a spot on the opposite side of Tawna.
"What do you mean, shut up." Lucy groans, "He's still complaining, I only came out here because I have Aquarius." Lucy shakes her head but pauses when she see Tawna's smirk.
"I haven't seen Aquarius since you got back," Tawna states crossing her arms, "I'll finally get to test my power against her." She says raising an eyebrow to her blonde guild mate.
"I don't like that look," Lucy says wearily after seeing that same look on her brother's face too many times, "and what is with you and your brother wanting to fight my spirits?"
"Don't hold your breath Dragneel," Jenny scoffs, making the Dragon Slayer turn to the other blonde on her left, "You'll be lucky if you're not the first one out of this competition."
"What was that, Princess?" Tawna growls to the slightly taller blonde.
"Oh, it sounds like we have rivalry down on the playing field, and we haven't even started the fight yet!" The announcer shouts seeing Tawna and Jenny stare off.
"You must think you're all that, just because you're sleeping with the guild master's Grandson," Jenny smirks.
"Hmmm," Tawna hums, "I won my solo fight on day one and my Man won his fight yesterday. Also, he defeated the whole Raven tail Team," Tawna glares, "What did you and Hibiki do?" She wonders innocently placing her figure to her chin, "Oh yeah," She snaps her fingers, "You lost your fight to one of my team members and he scored a measly 124 points on the MPF with his encyclopedia." A series of gasps echoes through the cheers and shouts of the crowd, at the end of the sentence, and the look of shock on Jenny's face is enough to give Tawna the satisfaction.
"That was cold!" Lucy shouts, before a satisfied chuckle erupts from the Dragon Slayer.
"Excuse me," Jenny gasps.
"Awe, did I hurt your feelings, Princess." Tawna coos placing her hands on her hips.
"You hurt mine!" Hibiki's hurt shout echoes over the crowd making Tawna laugh, not knowing he could actually hear what she said.
"We have our final competitor, Minerva of Sabertooth!" Chapati announces, giving the cue for Mato to come on the field.
"Oh, now I'm fired up," Tawna says determined as the Daughter of the Sabertooth Guild Master joins the party. Especially after what she did to Happy the other night, and how many times Tawna has almost fought Sabertooth, she's ready for a fight.
"Now that we have all the competitors it's time to explain the game!" Mato exclaims, hopping up and down. Above the girls and one male, a large spear appears of clear blue liquid. "this is Naval Battle!" The pumpkin mascot cheers walking below the orb of water.
"Cool," Tawna says, amazed seeing the large body of water above them.
"The rules are simple," Mato states, "You will all engage in a water battle from within the water. Don't worry about breathing, there has been a spell put in place so you will not have to hold your breath." He explains, "You are considered out when you're knocked from the water. You will be rewarded points based on when you are knocked out of the fight, aside from the final two. Once there are two left there will be a five-minute timer, and if someone is knocked out before the five minutes is up then you will reward the least amount of points. If you last the entire five minutes, then you will be rewarded based on knockout standing once again."
"Even if we make it to second place, we still have a chance in coming in last?" Sherria asks, curiously.
"That is correct," Mato says cheerfully, "Now, let's get you all ready. We will get you all in the water, and on my mark, the fight will begin" He steps back, as platforms appear, one for each competitor. Each girl, and Rocker step onto their designated platform. Rocker is the first to be raised up on the floating platform. Tawna's eyes widen seeing how high they raise each platform, not to mention it also being a motion sickness nightmare.
"Don't look so scared Dragneel," Minerva sneers, "I thought this would be your competition." Tawna's eyebrows furrowed into a scowl, before she could answer, a voice grabs her attention.
"Miss Katawna," Mato bounces over to the younger Dragneel, "May I ask a favor of you?"
"Go for it, Mr. Pumpkin." Tawna says crouching down holding her knees.
"We were wondering if you could not use Blood Grip in this competition, to keep the fight going longer. No worries if you decline, it is your magic." The mascot asks quietly.
"I don't mind at all," The Dragon Slayer agrees, "I hate using it in competitions like this anyways."
"Thank you," Mato nods, "I will let the officials know." He says turning to walk away.
"Wait, can I ask you something?" Tawna stops the mascot before he trots away.
"What's the problem?" Mato asks turning back to the Dragon Slayer.
"Is there any way I can get in through the bottom?" Tawna asks, glancing at the water above them.
"I don't see why not," Mato says cheerfully, "May I ask why? I thought diving in would be fun for you competitors."
"Maybe for others," Tawna says rubbing the back of her neck nervously, "But not only is that platform a motion sickness nightmare, but I'm also deathly afraid of heights. You would never get me off that platform, motion sickness or not." Tawna states knowing she sounds ridiculous.
"No problem, Miss Dragneel," Mato nods, "You may enter the water anytime." He says motioning to the bottom of the orb.
"Thanks Mato," Tawna grins stand straight.
"We just got word from the officials that Katawna Dragneel agreed not to use her spell Blood Grip while during this competition." Chapati announces.
"What the Hell, Calico!" Gajeel shouts from Team B's seats, "Don't agree to shit like that!"
"I wasn't going to use it anyways!" Tawna shouts back making her way to the bottom of the water orb, "You see all this water, I don't need it!" Standing at the base of the water, she stomps on the ground making a wave to raise her up to the orb.
"It looks like Katawna has chosen to enter the water through the bottom," Chapati points out, "I wonder why?"
"It's no secret in the wizarding community, but on top of also suffering from severe motion sickness, Katawna also is not a fan of heights. If I were her, I would do the same." Yajima says clearing the question.
"Way to face your fear, Babe," Laxus teases, causing Tawna to glare toward her chuckling team.
"Rude," Tawna shakes her head and jumps from her wave into the water. The cold water is a shock to her body at first, but opening her eyes, she's surprised that they can all see clearly. Most of the other girls have taken positions around the battle orb, and Rocker looking oddly out of place.
"This is bizarre," Lucy's voice echoes slightly muffled from the water near the Dragon Slayer.
"This is cool," Tawna grins to her guild mate, "This is better than the surfing competition from a few years ago." She says swimming in a circle and cracking her knuckles
"Of course, you think it's cool," Lucy chuckles nervously, slightly weary of Tawna excitement. Just like her brother, they never know what will happen when she gets fired up.
"All the competitors are in the drink!" Chapati announces as Minerva becomes the last competitor to enter the water.
"You all know the rules!" Mato bounces from below, "Take your marks!" He shouts raising his arm, "FIGHT!"
"Sorry, Luce!" Tawna mischievously shouts, "WATER DRAGON CYCLONE!"
"What!" Lucy yells. The tornado erupts from the Dragon Slayer's hands barrel towards the celestial wizard. Lucy frantically jumbles her keys in her hand, grabbing the specific one to help her.
"REGULAS!" A small blinding light breaks the water attack, sending the tornado in multiple direction to the other competitors.
"Damn it, Loke!" Tawna huffs annoyed, "I was hoping for Aquarius." She rolls her eyes, knowing the other competitors are going to come for her next. Creating a small-scale cyclone in her hand she blows it toward the other blonde, catching under her feet sending her spinning.
"Dragneel!" Jenny yells furious amongst the spinning, making the Water Mage chuckle, before turning her attention back to her first target Lucy.
"I didn't open your gate!" Lucy shouts at the red headed lion spirit, floating still in his full suit.
"I couldn't help but help," Loke says dramatically, making both Fairy tail girls roll their eyes.
"Get out of here Loke!" Tawna argues shaking her fist, "I want to fight Aquarius, not you." She says placing her hands on her hips. Suddenly she feels an arm drape over her shoulders, remarkably similar to the way the Pegasus Boys do.
"My, my, you've grown, Katawna." Loke flirts leaning against Tawna. She rolls her eyes and quickly shoves their old guild member off her, attaching a water bomb magic circle in the process.
"Get off me, or I'm not gonna be the only one beating your ass," Tawna huffs snapping her fingers, igniting the magic circle, "Water bomb." She huffs, blasting Loke tumbling into Lucy.
"Are you crazy," Lucy shouts pushing Loke off her, "you're asking to get electrocuted; she has a boyfriend!" Lucy says placing her hands on her hips.
"Huh?" Loke asks, shocked looking back to Katawna. She rolls her eyes and lazily points to Team B's balcony. If looks could kill, Loke would be dead, plus some. Loke turns to the balcony and locks eyes with Laxus's glare.
"AHHH!" Loke yelps followed by a pop and a puff of smoke from closing his celestial gate.
"You need to put him on a stricter contract," Tawna chuckles shaking her head.
"Tell me about it," Lucy sighs, rubbing her temples, before glancing back to Tawna across for her. The infamous Dragneel crooked grin spread across her lips.
"Now that he's gone," Tawna smirks, "Bye Luce." She charges up another attack, throwing the stream barreling towards her Brother's partner.
"Ahhhh!" Lucy screams swimming away, jumbling her keys once again, this time actually opening a gate, "Aquarius save me, save me, save me!" She begs desperately. Tawna feels her attack turn, redirecting it back at her. Smirking knowing who Lucy called, the Dragon Slayer gracefully swims around the redirected stream, and sends it off towards the other competitors. The pop of the Gate opening, and the smoke dissipates in the water, and before them floats the celestial mermaid, Aquarius.
"Now, this is what I'm talking about," Tawna grins, ready to rumble with one of Lucy's most powerful spirits. As the blue spirit emerges, the fighting comes to a pause. Tawna wasn't paying much attention, but all the girls are left in the competition, Rocker must have been the first one knocked out.
Aquarius quickly scans the competitors, before her eyes land on a smirking, pink haired Dragon Slayer. In a burst the bubbles, both females propel towards one another, though when the bubbles dissipates, the two are face to grinning.
"Haven't seen you in a while, Kid" Aquarius grins placing her palms against Tawna's, "Good, that leg is treating you well."
"It's good to see you again," Tawna grins, greeting the spirit after seven years. Last she saw most of Lucy's spirits, beside the few she had re-met again on missions, was in the hospital.
"WHAT!" The crowd and contestant shout seeing the two water bearers not throw down at first sight.
"I heard you got yourself a man," The Water bearer smirks, glancing back to Lucy, "No surprise you're doing better than that Bimbo."
"Aquarius!" Lucy shouts offended, "You can catch up with her later, she is our competition right now!" The two Water wizards only glance at each other, before an explosion erupts between them, catching most of the other contestants in a vicious whirlpool. The water whips through the space that grew between the two Water users, no other wizard dares to come between the two.
"Damn Kid," The Celestial spirit beams, "And I thought I would have to go easy on you, glad I didn't."
"Don't go easy on her!" Lucy yells, only to be ignored by her sassy spirit.
"I would have been offended," Tawna boasts, "Though I would have thought you would have put up more of a challenge, this is child's play!" She taunts, pushing the boundaries of the fiery spirit. Using only one of her hands to control the wild cyclone between the two and uses the other to add another attack, "Water Dragon Shotgun!" She smirks. Multiple magic circles surround her all directed at Lucy and her spirit. Blast explodes from each magic circle, shooting water cannons by the dozens to her guild mate.
"Damn," Aquarius squints through the explosions, not being ready for two attacks at once, "Ahhhh!" The spirit shouts pushing more magic energy to her water geyser. Tawna tightens her magic grip on her own whirlpool, though she feels another body approach her. Abandoning her shotgun, she uses her free arm, swinging her elbow, connecting it with the soft flesh of an abdomen, before placing her right foot against her distraction.
"Trying to catch me off guard," Tawna growls, "Wait your turn, Princess. You're next!" Tawna orders, blasting her rival blonde away.
"Woah, Katawna Dragneel isn't messing around, not only is she isn't breaking a sweat against a Celestial Spirit, but she also caught Jenny's sneak attack at the same time!" Chapati exclaims watching the main Lacrama Screen is fixed on the smirking Dragneel. The cheers of Fairy tail over power the rest, as the cheer for both wizards.
"Go Tawna!" Juvia and Mira cheer hopping up and down, watching their teammate and friend get an upper hand in the fight.
"Quit messin' around and start knocking people out!" Gajeel shouts leaning against the wall with his arms crossed. "She's getting cocky." He grumbles
"She's a Dragneel, what do you expect?" Laxus chuckles watching his Girl go head to head with Aquarius, "Let her have her fun, she'll get bored and start tossing people."
"She needs to hurry up," Gajeel says impatiently.
"Come on, Katawna!" Juvia cheers for her fellow water wizard, "Don't let Lucy beat you!"
"Kick some ass. Tawna!" Laxus cheers with the rest of their team, and a bigger smirk spreads on the younger Dragneel's face. It's muffled, but she can hear her team's cheers, and it makes her push harder. She even hears the cheers from her brother, and arguments from Erza and Gray.
"Go Tawna!" Natsu yells, only to receive a swat from Erza, "Ow, hey!" He complains, rubbing his head, before glaring at the red head.
"Knock that off," Erza huffs, bopping his pink head, "I know she's your sister, but she's fighting Lucy."
"She's not on our team, Dim whit." Gray shakes his head, "You can cheer for her if Lucy gets knocked out."
"Is that all you got, Aquarius?" Tawna taunts, "I was hoping for a challenge!"
"This is boring," the Water Bearer rolls her eyes, glancing behind her to Lucy, "I'm leaving."
"What!" Lucy yips, "You can't leave, I need you!"
"I have a date," Aquarius smirks amongst the twirling altercation, she turns her attention back to her main competition, "I'm out of her, see ya, Kid!"
"Tell Scorpio hi for me!" Tawna cheerfully waves as she retracts her attack, as the Celestial Spirit closes her gate in a mess of bubbles. As the water settles, Lucy catches Tawna's cocky grin. "Well that was fun, but it's just you and me blondie." She grins.
"You're starting to sound like Juvia," Lucy retorts to Tawna's taunts.
"I can yell 'Love Rival' at you, if you want." Tawna smirks creating an attack, the water begins to swirl violently in her hand.
"Please don't," Lucy whines, not that she should have expected this from the Dragon Slayer, she's exactly like her brother. Always quick to tease her, especially in the most inconvenient times.
"It seems, Katawna is only going after Lucy from Team A," Chapati says, slightly confused.
"We pointed this out on day one," Yajima snickers, "But this is the reason I said having two Fairy Tail teams wouldn't be an issue. The thing Fairy Tail members like more than fighting, is fighting each other. It's no surprise Katawna went after Lucy first." The previous Guild member chuckles.
"Water Dragon Roar!" Tawna shouts abandoning the attack in her hand, taking her old teammate by surprise.
"Ahhh!" Lucy whines frantically, swimming away, "What happened to the attack in your hand?" She shouts jumbling with her keys, "Virgo! Aries!"
"You called, Princess?" Virgo chimes through the smoke and pink fluff, holding the blond above her head dodging, Tawna's roar.
"Sorry we are late," Aries apologizes, popping up behind the two.
"Thank goodness," Lucy sighs, "I thought I was a goner."
"Good dodge, Luce," Tawna cheers, "I didn't think you were gonna escape that one," She grins impressed.
"I don't know whether to take that as a compliment or not," Lucy huffs, her eyes widen seeing another geyser of water come barreling towards them. "Virgo, Aries!" Lucy panics.
"Don't worry, Princess," Virgo answers, swimming to avoid the Dragon Slayer's attacks.
"Wool Bomb!" Aries attacks, covering the petite Dragon Slayer in pink wool.
"Gross," Tawna scrunches her nose, "Soggy wool." She says ceasing her attacks. "Water Dragon Cyclone!" She casts, drilling through the soaked wool, making it begin to dissolve.
"Sorry Lucy," Aries stutters trying to keep up with Tawna's quick attacks. The Dragon Slayer may be keeping her distance from Lucy, but her blast comes fast and often. Tawna glances around the floating pool and sighs slightly annoyed. All but Rocker are still in, and she's gonna be the one to change that.
"I'm with Aquarius," Tawna grins swimming to the center of the fights, "This is getting boring," She stretches her hand out to the side, the bright blue magic circle illuminating the within the blue water, "Sorry Girls," She grins gaining the attention of the female competitors, "Time for you to go…" She flashes the Dragneel smirk, "Water Dragon Currents!" Powerful currents, only visible in the water by the bubbles and agitated water, erupts from her palm traveling around the sphere at high speeds.
"Ahhhh!" The squeals of the girls, blur as they all begin to swirl through the water, getting caught in the currents. One by one, girls begin to be thrown from water landing hard on the ground below.
"Woah!" Chapati announces, "In one swoop, Katawna has taken out Jenny, Sherria, and Leslie!"
"Ahhhh!" Lucy and her two spirits scream fighting the strong currents, Katawna is expelling. "Please stop!" Lucy whines while being squished between Aries and Virgo.
The larama focuses on Tawna's knowing smirk, through the bubbles she is creating with the spell, though she feels a magical presence that is still hidden at the top of the playing field, one she knows this simple trick wasn't going to be enough to trick her. Swiping her arms across her body the spell fades, any currents that were running rampant in the water cease. The bubbles begin to fade, revealing Tawna's cocky smirk to the rest of the crowd.
"In one single swoop ladies and gentlemen, Katawna Dragneel has eliminated all but two competitors." Capati shouts.
"Two?" Tawna raises an eyebrow confused looking around the now calmer water, "I could have sworn it was just Minerva," She huffs, placing her hands on her hips annoyed she let one of them slip past her.
"Oh my," Lucy breath placing a hand on her chest, "that was scary."
"Oh hey, Luce." Tawna waves, "I'm impressed," She smirks crossing her arms, "I didn't think Virgo and Aries could keep you in."
"You're a monster," Lucy breaths drooping her head, while trying to calm her fast-beating heart.
"Awe, thank you Lucy, " Tawna grins, placing her hand on her chest.
"Only you and Natsu would take that as a compliment," Lucy murmurs. Tawna's attention is pulled from Lucy when she feels a force pulsating through the water. The Water Dragon Slayer pushes Lucy back sending her flying backwards. "Ahh! Tawna?" Lucy shouts flying backwards through the cool water, trying to keep from being pushed out of the orb. The blast is bright and hot, where Lucy was once floating.
"Water Dragon Daggers!" Tawna attacks sending ice shards from her hand, only to be redirected through Minerva's spatial magic, being shot back at the dragon slayer. Melting the ice, and dodging her own attack Tawna's eyebrows
"Nice try, Katawna," Minerva sneers as the two wizards float even with one another.
"You think I didn't know that wouldn't phase you," Tawna glares, "So, are you done floating around or are you here to actually fight?" Her hands glow bright blue, her magic being amplified by the water around them. The magic energy expands between the two wizards, those in the stands can feel it. Spatial explosions and water bombs ignite, erupting explosions within the water. The force knocks both wizards back before they propel towards one another once again.
"Water Dragon Talon!" Tawna casts one of her strongest physical attacks, thanks to her right leg. Swinging the metal limb up, slamming the water kick down to Minerva's shoulder.
"Territory Nihility," Minerva smirks. Spatial magic engulfs her hands, catching Tawna's heel in the blast protecting herself from the blast and kick. Tawna growls yanking her leg from her opponent's grip, creating a magic circle around her right elbow, changing her arm to solid ice. "Awe, is someone getting angry?" Minerva coos at Tawna's visible frustration as her other arm follows suit in switching to ice.
"I'm just getting started," Tawna says, flashing the Dragneel smirk. The two girls fist collide creating explosions erupting through the water. Each puch, Katawna explodes a water bomb, and Minerva a territory explosion with each contact with the petiet Dragon Slayer. The lacrama screens in front of the crowds and Guilds capture every punch and explosion between the two wizards in the center stage. Both evade the other's attacks until Minerva's spatial magic attaches to Tawna's chest.
"Crap!" Tawna hisses before detonating into a chain of explosions.
"Katawna!" Team B shouts seeing their Dragon Slayer hit with a string of blazing hot explosions. The bubbles clear and Minerva's smirk fades into confusion seeing Katawna is gone and only her leg floating in the water. The leg travels through the water quickly making Minerva dodge to the side.
"Water Dragon Iron Punch!" Tawna shouts from behind Saber Tooth's strongest female, swinging the glowing punch connecting with her back. The bubbles fade and Tawna's prosthetic is draped over her shoulder, before she reattaches it to her thigh. Cheers erupt from the stands seeing Tawna reappear, with a knowing smirk.
"She just did Water Body!" Juvia bounces excitedly and proud of her fellow Water Mage.
"What!" Lucy shouts from the side, after Tawna shoved her out of the way of the initial blast, she stayed out of the way of the two female wizards trying not to get caught up in the crossfire.
"And all this time I heard you couldn't do Water Body," Minerva smirks, "It is quite impressive."
"Don't believe everything Eculiffe tells you about me," Tawna spits, "Now, enough small talk,"
"Awe, is the Little Fairy getting impatient?" Minerva sneers, with her magic glowing in her hands. Getting ready for the attack to come her way, Tawna's eyes widen hearing Lucy shout swimming away from a series of blasts.
"Lucy!" Tawna shouts propelling herself near her old teammate, "Water Dragon Slice!" She casts cutting the explosion before Minerva could detonate it.
"Awe, she was looking a little left out down there." The Saber Tooth wizard snickers, before looking to Tawna, "Look at you, protecting a girl not on your team?" She mocks making Tawna's blood boil.
"If we work together, we may be able to get her out, and it will be just us," Tawna whispers, coming to float next to her brother's partner. Minerva's spatial magic explodes once again separating the two Fairy Tail Mages, Tawna freezes the barrier at the base of her feet before she can be thrown from the ring, bouncing back into the middle of the pool, throwing her own jabs at Minerva, bouncing between the edge and her explosions. Lucy continues to swim avoiding her attacks, still getting hit by a few of them.
Tawna knows what Minerva is doing, her spatial magic shocks are causing heat, and the amount of explosions she is shooting through the water is enough to heat it up. The water temperature is now becoming even more scorching by the minute. Tawna is focusing her own magic on cooling down the water, neither her or Lucy will be able to fight much longer.
"I need to call a spirit out and fast," Lucy states watching Tawna bounce between the explosions.
"Now you think of that? Where Loke when you actually need him? " Tawna asks between bounces, "Water Dragon cannon!" She shouts bombarding the Saber Tooth Mages advances. Lucy reaches for her keys, planning on grabbing Loke's for once, when she realizes she's missing something.
"What?" Lucy breaths in unbelief, "My keys?" She notices her belt and keys are gone from her hip.
"Hmm." Minerva's voice hums, holding up Lucy's belt and keys, "Looking for these?"
"Minerva," Tawna growls, as the keys begin to glow in Minerva's hand causing an explosion to erupt on one side of Lucy then the other. "Minerva!" Tawna shouts once again, now being ignored by the Saber tooth member. She can hear the angered shout of the guild through the water. Lucy is defenseless without her keys and whip at this time, and Minerva knows that.
"Ahh!" Lucy shouts in pain as one of the bast's connects with her ribs, throwing Team A's Celestial Wizard around the playing field.
"Stop!" Tawna shouts slamming herself into Minerva's side. Tawna knows there is only one way to get her out of the water. The Dragon Slayer propels herself with Minerva through the water towards the edge of the orb.
"What is Tawna doing?" Juvia asks for Tawna and Lucy in the arena, both girls covered in scrapes and burns from Minerva's magic.
"It looks like she is trying to force her out of the water," Laxus states as Tawna and Minerva collide with the edge of the water. Minerva used her magic stopping her from being forced out. Opening another portal, shoving Tawna in, causing her and Minerva to switch places.
"Damn," Tawna grits her teeth, feeling the burning heat on her back. Cursing herself for forgetting she can pass people and things through her portals. Throwing her knee up, connecting it to the flesh of Minerva's abdomen, and slamming her hand against the water behind her, freezing it instantly.
"Nice try Dragneel," Minerva smirks, "Playing dirty, are we?"
"Dirty!" Tawn huffs, focusing on keeping the water behind her back frozen, to keep her in, "You took another competitor's keys." Tawna growls, feeling the ice crack behind her back. Pushing off the ice, feeling it shatter behind her between her own magic and Minerva's spatial explosion, behind her back. "Water Dragon Currents!" She cast through the grit of her teeth, propeling herself and Minerva to the opposite edge of the water.
"I've had enough of this," Minerva shouts, switching places once again with Tawna, using the Water Dragon's spell against herself, "I bet you regret giving up on using that little blood spell of yours." Minerva sneers.
"I would have only used it on you," Tawna growls, fighting against Minerva's grip, "Only after that little stunt you pulled with Luce's keys!" She shouts as Minerva shoves her back against the now frozen water behind Tawna's back
"Tawna!" Lucy shouts holding her burnt arm, floating in the center of the water.
"Looks like this is the end for you, Dragneel," Minerva shouts, exploding the ice behind the Dragon Slayer's back. Tawna grits her teeth feeling the ice shatter and shards cut her back, feeling the warm blood drip down her back as she's met with the July sun on her skin.
"Like Hell!" Tawna growls grabbing the Spacial wizard's arm, "If I'm going, then you're coming with me!" She shouts, with still on arm and one leg in the water. She's not completely out of the water yet, so she's still in the fight. Freezing the water under her right foot on the outside of the water, she uses it as leverage to yank Minerva from the water.
"She's trying to pull Minerva out with her," Juvia says watching the altercation in front of them.
"It's a decent plan," Laxus states crossing his arms, "If she yanks Minerva out after her, it would make her get an automatic last place, because she didn't fight for the five minutes."
"Yeah, but I don't think Calico has the weight to yank that Saber Chick out," Gajeel adds as they hear Minerva's voice echo through the stadium.
"Not this tme, Dragneel," Minerva's magic erupts under Tawna's hand, "Now, I have a fight to finish with your Guild mate." The spell explodes, burning Tawna's hand causing her to lose her hold on both Minerva and the water.
"Ah!" Tawna breaths feeling the searing pain in her palm, making her lose her concentration and grip on the water, making her fall from the floating arena.
"Katawna!" Laxus and the girls at team B shout as Tawna is shoved from the water, sent tumbling to the ground below. Hitting the ground hard, and rolling a few feet away, from her landing sight landing on her side.
"And Katawna Dragneel takes third place for Fairy Tail Team B!" Chapati announces. Tawna groans pressing herself up to her knees. "Now the Five-minute rule, begins!"
"Damn it," She curses, punching the ground, before standing slowly. Using her magic to dry her hair, throwing the water to the ground, before looking at her freshly burnt hand, hissing slightly as she coats her hand in water freezing it trying to cool the seared skin, and tries to ignore the blood she feels dripping down her back. Walking past Sabertooth's guild she hears someone call to her.
"You really think that little trick was gonna trip Minerva, Dragneel?" Sting laughs from the stands, making Tawna scowl his way.
"Oh, look at the time," Tawna glares checking her watch-less wrist, "It's time for you to f*** off," She snaps, flipping her middle finger to the White Dragon Slayer, hearing the Lacrama that was on her censor the curse, before continuing her walk to the loser circle.
"Now where were we," Minerva smirks, looking at Lucy in the water as she erupts more explosions on Lucy.
"Ahhh!" Lucy yells getting hit by the special explosions, feeling her face heat up as the temperature rises in the water. "The water is so much hotter than before," Lucy breathes, before glancing at Tawna walking towards the other eliminated competitors.
"It seems like Minerva's explosions are causing the water to heat up," Yajima explains.
"It sounds like Katawna was focusing a bit of her magic on keeping the temperature of the water stable while they were fighting," Chapati puts the puzzle together, "Now that she's out, there's nothing cooling the water after each explosion." Tawna sighs, taking her spot next to Jenny and the others watching the rest of the fight from the ground below. She can't help but flinch with each shriek of Lucy with every hit.
"That was a good idea, Dragneel," Jenny says spitefully from next to the Dragon Slayer. Tawna raises an eyebrow to the Pegasus member.
"What?" Tawna huffs watching as Minerva's attack ceases as the time continues to count down for the five minutes.
"Trying to yank her out with you," Jenny adds, "It would have given Saber Tooth an automatic last place in this competition."
"I tried," Tawna states annoyed with herself, "I didn't have the leverage against her, and-" she glances to her burnt hand, "- burning my hand didn't help either." She grumbles looking up as the clock continues to count down. Lucy floats trying to catch her breath holding her arm that is covered in scrapes and burns, more so than Tawna is. Tawna looks like a couple scrapes compared to Lucy, "Why did Minerva stop?"
"It looks like she's letting the clock count down," Sherria says, coming to stand next to Tawna, "Do you want me to heal that hand for you?" She offers.
"Oh it's okay," Tawna smiles, "You don't have to." She says, shaking her head, "I can just have Wendy look at it later."
"Nonsense," Sherria smiles grabbing Tawna's frozen hand, "I've already healed all you other injuries, and your back." Tawna quickly looks to her arm not being held by the Lamia Scale wizard, and sees her scrapes and burns gone and reaches her hand not held by the Lamia Scale mage to her back. Sherria quickly heals the bunt hand, making the blister skin, fade back to normal.
"Thanks, Sherria," Tawna nods, stretching and moving her now healed hand, when she hears the five-minute timer go off. The watches widen as explosions begin erupting from Minerva's hand, each one contacting Lucy, making her screams amplify throughout the whole stadium. "What the Hell!" Tawna shouts running forward slightly.
"Ahhhh!" Lucy screams, being blown around the water from each impact of the blasts. Between Lucy's screams, and The explosions, Tawna can't hear whatever Minerva is saying to Lucy. "She's going to kill her!" She panics looking up to the announcer then to Mato's shocked faces. "Minerva stop!" Tawna screams, "You already won, give it a rest!" Tawna's eyes widen and bolts toward Mato.
"Mato, stop the competition!" She yells running towards the water orb. Mato gets the okay from the officials and raises his arm.
"Stop!" the Pumpkin yells, "Stop the fight!" He demands as Minerva's magic ceases with Lucy's head in her hand.
"Lucy!" Natsu shouts with Gray jumping the barrier running to the field. Minera smirks holding Lucy out of the water.
"She's not moving!" Tawna shouts running towards her friend as Minerva's grip drops, "Lucy!" She screams, stretching her arm out and the small blue magic circle appears. Connecting to Lucy's limp body, she slows the fall as Natsu and Gray dive, catching her before she hits the ground.
"Lucy!" Natsu shouts holding her beaten body between him and Gray. Tawna sprints, sliding next to her brother looking over Lucy.
"Luce!" Tawna breaths, "She's not breathing," She says panicking before placing a hand over her friends chest.
"Do something, Tawna," Natsu begs.
"She inhaled water," Tawna quickly swipes her hand up Lucy's body as Wendy and Erza catch up, a large amount of water is yanked from Lucy's lungs and discarded on the ground. Lucy takes in a shallow coughing breath, making Tawna release the breath she was holding.
"Let me help!' Wendy says, as Tawna backs away standing making room for her best friend, "She needs treatment!"
"Here," Sherria says coming to their aid, "If we both do it, we should be able to help her." She says adding her own healing abilities to help Lucy. Tawna backs up giving them space to work on healing the major injuries Lucy obtained in the fight.
"Give them space, Natsu," Tawna says, grabbing her brother's shoulders backing him up.
"They're gonna pay for this," Nastsu growls, clenching his fists. Tawna comes to stand next to him glaring up to where Minerva begins to descend from the water.
"Damn straight," Tawna glares, "What the Hell is wrong with you!" Tawna snaps taking a step forward Minerva.
"What do you mean," Minerva smirks innocently, landing back onto the ground, "I followed the rules set in place by the officials."
"You went way too far!" Natsu snaps coming next to his sister.
"My, my," Minerva says calmly, "You two really are siblings, you both have that same scornful look plastered on your faces." She smirks crossing her arms looking between the two Dragneels, "You can glare at me all you want, but I was in compliance with the rules."
"That may be so," Erza says stepping in front of Natsu and Tawna, "But you went way outside the lines of basic human decenty." She states, causing a chuckle to slip from Minerva's lips.
"I just was trying to entertain the crowd," Minera smirks, shrugging her shoulders.
"Entertain the crowd!" Tawna yells stomping past Natsu and Erza, "You almost killed her! You are sick if you call that entertainment1" Tawna shouts only to run into Erza's arm before she could get any closer.
"That's enough, Katawna." Erza commands, stopping the wizard from going closer.
"You should be thanking me," Minerva adds, "She got second place, didn't she? If it wasn't for me, she would have gotten dead last."
"What was that!" Natsu shouts protective over his Best Friend.
"I should have shot you out of that damned orb from the very beginning!" Tawna snaps. Team A and Katawna stand off facing Minerva, when Sting, Ogra, and Rufus jump in front of her, ready to rumble. The crowd erupts in chants, urging the two guilds to fight.
"What is going on down there!" Chapati asks, shocked seeing what is happening on the field at that moment. "Fairy tail Team A and Katawna, and Sabertooth have both taken the field!"
"Even though they are both popular guilds, they need to keep their cool right now." Yajima adds.
"Should we join them?" Cana asks, glancing to Laxus and Mira as Team B watches the stare-off go down.
"I don't know," Mira says weary.
"Are you gonna go get Calico?" Gajeel asks, glancing sideways to Laxus who simply shakes his head.
"I'm not getting between that," Laxus shakes his head. He doesn't even think he could stop Tawna if she decided to fight. She's too fired up.
Back on the field you can feel the tension between the two guilds. Natsu and Tawna take a step towards Sting who has a knowing smirk plastered on his face, only to be stopped by Erza's arm.
"Heed this warning," Erza announces, dropping her arm, knowing Katawna and Natsu aren't going to pursue any further. "You may be considered the strongest Guild in Fiore, but making an enemy of Fairy Tail is a decision you will come to regret." Erza glares. Turning to her team, and Tawna as the officials get Lucy on a stretcher, "Let's go," Tatania demands, glancing to the seething siblings next to her, before putting a forceful hand on both Natsu and Tawna's shoulder.
"What the Hell!" Natsu and Tawna yell being shoved by Erza, pushing them towards the exit.
"You two are walking ahead of me." She says to the two fired up Dragneels, "I don't trust you from starting a fight."
"What's that supposed to mean!" the two shouts at the same time, causing the two to look at eachother. "Stop copying me!" the two turn their annoyances on each other, while being shoved by Erza.
"Enough!" Erza huffs annoyed, knocking the two's heads together in the opening of the tunnel In front Of Team B who came to meet Tawna in the tunnel.
"Damn it, Erza!" Natsu scowling.
"You didn't need to do that," Tawna complains, rubbing the sore spot on her head, before Erza shoves her forward. Tawna's face collides with a hard form, making her step back rubbing her nose. Glancing up, she's met with Laxus's golden eyes staring back at her with a raised eyebrow, making Tawna smile innocently.
"I'm handing her off to you," Erza directs to Laxus and the rest of Team B. Laxus places his jacket over her bare shoulders, and Tawna looks down, turning to Natsu, Gray and Erza. "Let's go wait for Porlyusica to let us see Lucy," Erza says looking between Natsu and Gray, then looking to Tawna, "Good fight, Tawna." she nods before walking past with Gray and Natsu.
"Thanks," Tawna says, glancing dowards, pulling Laxus's jack closer around her shoulders.
"Good job, Tawna." Gray says ruffling her hair on the way by.
"You kicked ass, Bugs," Natsu smiles, nudging her side, continuing to walk away.
"Lets, go get you changed," Mira says coming next to Tawna, who simply nods, and feels Laxus's arm pull her close to his side.
"Sorry, Natsu," She says under her breath sadly, knowing Natsu heard her. Natsu turns questioning, but Tawna has already begun walking the other way with her team. Laxus was barely able to catch what she said, looking down, he notices a sad scowl on her face. Pulling her closer to his side, he feels her shrink next to him as Juvia talks her ear off about the spells she used in the fight. Pushing open the changing room, the same room they spent the night in on the first night of the competition.
"Tawna!" Elie shouts flying next to Tawna with Lily taking a spot next to Gajeel as the team shuts the door behind them.
"Hey," Tawna says, still looking down to the ground walking forward from her team. Elie glances to Laxus, both knowing something is wrong.
"Tawn?" Laxus asks, "What's wrong?" He asks, stepping forward with Elie.
"Are you okay?" Cana asks, glancing at Mira and Juvia. Tawna's back is turned from the rest of her team and Exceed. Finally her frustration boiling over, and unable to hold it in.
"AHHH!" She screams, taking her team and Boyfriend by surprise, dropping Laxus's jacket, pulling back her arm and her fist colliding with the wardrobe beside her splintering the wood.
"Tawna!" Laxus shouts, quickly grabbing her wrist mid-air before she could punch the cupboard into the wall once again.
"Katawna!" The three girls shout jumping forward towards their petite Dragon Slayer.
"Tawna, stop," Elie frantically flies around Tawna's head, as Laxus pulls her back towards one of the beds. Fresh blood drips down her right hand from her bloody knuckles, burying her face into her hands plopping down on the bed.
"It was my fault," Tawna says through frustrated tears trickling down her face. She feels Laxus kneel in front of her and a large hand on her back.
"Don't say that Tawna," Mira says softly coming to the other side of Tawna.
"Yeah, you couldn't control what happened." Cana adds.
"I couldn't get her out," Tawna sobs, "If I could have pulled her out, Lucy wouldn't have gotten hurt." She feels the bed next to her dip and her body lifts up and places on Laxus Lap.
"She played dirty," Elie says, landing on Laxus's shoulder.
"It's not your fault Tawn," Laxus says stroking her messy braided hair letting her cry into his chest.
"I should have knocked Minerva out in the beginning," Tawna wipes the tears from her eyes with her palm. "I knew she was up there, and I just left her. I screwed up."
"Don't beat yourself up, Calico." Gajeel states inspecting the now busted wardrobe.
"You know Sabertooth plays dirty," Elie says, grabbing her bleeding hand inspecting the bloodied and bruised skin.
"Lucy isn't going to blame you for what happened," Laxus says craning his neck to look her in the face, finally getting her gaze to meet his own, pushing her hair from her face. Seeing her calm down slightly, feeling the angered breath be released.
"Don't worry about it, Tawna," Juvia smiles.
"Yeah, let's get you changed, then we can go check up on Lucy." Elie says, looking at Tawna's calmer face, then back to her injured hand. "you may want Wendy to heal this for you though."
"We'll wait outside," Juvia says as everyone but Laxus and Elie go to leave the changing room. Elie lets go of Tawna's hand, and hops over to the crumbled wardrobe, digging through the splintered wood.
"Hey," Laxus says wiping stray tears from Tawna's cheeks with his thumb, feeling her cheek nuzzle against his hand, "You kicked ass," He says, placing a kiss atop of her head, gaining a smile from her.
"Yeah, if the points were based on how many people you knocked out, you would have won," Elie says, pulling Tawna's clothing from the destroyed cupboard, "Also why couldn't you punch the wardrobe that didn't have your clothes." Elie laughs, placing the clothing next to the couple. Tawna stands grabbing her brown high neck sleeveless cropped top, army green shorts, and her sword holsters.
"You also should have at least frozen your hand before you punched," Laxus says, grabbing his jacket from the floor as Tawna quickly changes from her bikini. Tawna glances to her right hand, seeing the scraped up knuckles, bruising and dried blood.
"Yeah," Tawna sighs, pulling on her black sleeves to her biceps, "I wasn't thinking," She says, looping her holster through the belt loops of her shorts, before setting back down on the bed, pulling up her white socks and lacing her combat boots flinching slightly moving her hand. Laxus comes next to her and undoes her messy braid, running his fingers through her now wavy hair, when he notices the sad look on her face.
"Hey," He says lightly flicking her forehead, bending down to meet her face, "Stop that."
"Ow," Tawna scowls rubbing her forehead, "Stop what?" She huffs puffing out her cheeks.
"You're still beating yourself up," Laxus says, raising an eyebrow.
"No I'm not," Tawna lies, crossing her arms. Laxus kisses her lips lightly catching her off guard.
"You'll get a chance to get them back," Laxus says, "You said the final day is always a fight against all teams, right?"
"Yes," Tawna rolls her eyes, knowing he's right.
"Let's go," Elie says hopping on Tawna's shoulder, "We should be able to see Lucy by now,"
"I guess you're right," Tawna smiles, petting Elie's head, before she glances to Laxus, "I'm okay, I promise." She reasures him. Pushing open the door, they are met by the rest of their Team and Lily.
Fairy tail Team B, walk quietly through the halls, towards Fairy Tail's Infirmary. The halls have been deserted since the beginning of the games, as all the officials are helping get the arena ready for the partner fights, for today's main events.
"Do you think Lucy is okay?" Juvia asks, looking between Tawna and Mira.
"I was able to get all the water out of her lungs, and Wendy and Sherria got there right after." Tawna says crunching on ice Lily got for her while she was changing, "I hope she will be okay. She may feel it though for the next couple days."
"How are you feeling?" Mira asks glancing across Juvia, "You had some pretty hard hits,"
"I'm perfectly fine," Tawna smiles, "Sherria, healed me while were waiting for the Five minutes to be up," she explains before looking at her battered hand, "My hand is a little sore though," She shrugs nervously, as they come to stop outside the Infirmary. Juvia is one to reach out and knock, before hearing a call from inside. Pushing opening the door, Team B files in.
"How's she doing?" Juvia asks, walking in first with the rest of team B filing in behind. Tawny walks in quietly in front of Laxus who is bringing up the rear. She feels her brother's eye follow her in.
"You guys came," Ezra smiles, seeing the other half of the Guild's team come in.
"Of course we did," Mira say making her way next to Lucy's bed.
"We maybe on different teams, but are still part of the same Guild," Cana states standing next to Juvia.
"Is she okay?" Tawny breaks her scilence, "I didn't mean for her to get hurt like she did." She says quietly looking down to her feet. Feeling Laxus's strong hand come and rest on her shoulder, giving a reassuring squeeze, she smiles lightly rubbing her hurt hand, hiding it from Porlusica's view. The echo of a chair screeching across the wooden floor hits her ears, before footsteps land themselves in front of the petite wizard. Before glancing up she feels a solid flick to her forehead.
"Knock it off," Natsu scowls leaning down to look his little sister in the face.
"Ow!" Tawny mumbles rubbing the spot on her forehead once again, "will people stop flicking me?" She says glancing up to her brother's matching eyes.
"It wasn't your fault, Tawna," Natsu says shaking his head, "Now stop blaming yourself." He says swiftly flicking her forehead again.
"Stop!" Tawna swats her brother's hand away before looking to Lucy bandaged up on the bed, "Is she doing okay."
"She's going to be okay," Porylusica answers, glancing at the shorter Dragneel, "Thanks to you getting the water out of her lungs and Wendy with her healing ability, She's going to pull through just fine."
"It wasn't just us," Wendy adds, "Sherria helped a lot too."
"What matters most is that she is going to be okay," Ezra smiles looking to Lucy's sleeping form on the bed.
"We were so worried about Lucy," Gray says glancing to Tawna, "we forgot to see if you were okay?"
"Don't worry about me," Tawna says swiping her arms across her body, "I'm perfectly okay. Sherria healed me while the last five minutes were counting down." She says quickly.
"Katawna," Laxus says in a warning tone, causing her to look away pouting. "Stop being stubborn," He shakes his head, reaching down grabbing her injured hand holding it above her head.
"What happened to you?" Natsu shouts seeing the bloodied, bruised knuckles, "it wasn't like that before."
"It's nothing," Tawna lies looking away annoyed.
"She punched a wardrobe," Laxus answers, shaking his head once again at his little stubborn girlfriend.
"Katawna," Natsu reprimands, making Tawna roll her eyes again. Now she has both her brother and boyfriend reprimanding her about it.
"I got mad," Tawna protests, crossing her. Arms in front of her chest, "It's not like you haven't punched a door in anger." She points to her brother, then glances to Laxus behind her, "Same goes for you." She huffs. Laxus and Natsu glance at each other eyes wide knowingly she is till fired up.
"I can take care of that for you Tawna," Wendy smiles, waving her friend over to the bed next to Lucy's.
"Thanks, Wendy," Tawna smiles, walking past Natsu and sitting cross-legged on the bed across from Wendy, as the Sky Dragon Slayer gets to work on her beat up hand. Tawna can't help but glance at her brother's partner laying in the bed beside her. Her whole body bandaged and wrapped tightly in gauze, "Injuries healed or not, I came out of that fight with minimal injuries compared to Luce." Tawna sighs.
"Minerva played dirty," Happy adds, sitting in Lucy's bed holding her keys close.
"Following game rules or not, it was uncalled for," Gray adds, crossing his arms.
"They are going to pay for this," Natsu growls, "I'm ready to pound some Saber Tooth heads." He states punching his palm
"You and me both, Bro," Tawna huffs, taking her now healed hand back from Wendy, "Thanks, Wendy." She smiles at her fellow female Dragon Slayer.
"It was no problem," Wendy smiles, before glancing at Lucy, who begins to stir in her bed. The blonde cringes feeling the pain and ache of her sore joints and injuries, as she tentatively opens her large brown eyes.
"She's awake," Happy smiles, walking up to her pillow.
"How ya. Feeling, Luce?" Natsu asks coming to his partner's bedside. Tawna can't help but smile at the sweetness in her brother's voice when it comes to Lucy. She's always known he has cared about his blond companion. Even when she was younger, she noticed the way he looked at her. She even recalls the time he got herself to help him uproot one of the cherry blossom trees to float down the river past Lucy's apartment so she could see the rainbow leaves. She knows he wouldn't have done that for anyone else except for maybe herself.
"I'm sorry guys," Lucy mumbles her apologies hiding her face under her blanket.
"Huh?" Natsu asks confused, "why are you apologizing?"
"I screwed up again?" Lucy sighs hiding her face under the covers. Her guild mates look at on another then land on Tawna who was also blaming herself for the incident, then back at Lucy.
"Second place isn't screwing up," Gray smiles.
"Yeah," Tawna adds, striding over to the space between Laxus and Natsu, "you beat me, and I'm a water wizard. I'd say that is something to be proud about." Tawna encourages, still trying not. To beat herself up about it.
"We got eight points in that round," Wendy states smiling.
"But I lost my keys, and that fight was mainly between Minerva and Tawna. I just got in the way." Lucy says sadly
"Don't say that, Lucy." Natsu adds glancing back at Tawna, "you held you ground against Tawna, and you were able to get second place after all of that."
And I found you keys," Happy says handing off the keys.
"Thank you, Happy," Lucy smiles tiredly holding the pouch close to her chest. Rolling over to her side, they hear her breathing even out again.
"I think she's going to be okay," Mira smiles, gaining a nod from her fellow guild mates.
"There's no way they are going to get away with Gray like that!" Cana growls.
"You said it," Gray huffs.
"Lousy bunch of Shits" Gajeel crosses his arms before glancing to to Tawna, "you really have worked with those idiots?"
"Unfortunately, yes," Tawna cringes crossing her arms, " I had no choice since we weren't getting very many job requests,"
"She almost killed Sting on the first mission almost three years ago," Elie adds landing on Laxus's head, "She slammed him against the tree practically choking him."
"Rogue pulled me off of him before I could choke him anymore, but I do regret not letting my knee land a few inches higher than it did." Tawna huffs. The males in the room all glance to each other before letting out an audible shutter.
The door to The small infirmary opens, and closes softly ceasing any conversation that was happening. Gramps walks in seeing both teams huddled around Lucy's bed.
"Master?" Cana asks, surprised seeing him walk in front of both teams who have turned to his attention.
"These are some unfortunate circumstances, but I am happy both teams are here. I have something I need to discuss," Gramps states, "I was just contacted by the games officials, and I'm not sure if it will be a help or a hindrance, but we have been asked to combine into one team."
"Say what!" Natsu shouts standing once again from his chair next to Lucy.
"We need to be like everyone else's now, huh?" Laxus asks, crossing his arms.
"Why are they doing this?" Mira asks, walking towards their Guild Master.
"AfterRaven Tail's disqualification," Gramps explains, "they are left with an uneven number of teams. Making it hard to pair up teams for the battles to come in today's events. So we have been ordered to do away with the A and B teams and form a single five person team."
"So we are losing five members." Ezra concludes gaining a nod from Master.
"What about the points?" Elie asks.
"Unfortunately that comes with a price," Gramps shakes his head, "we have to take the lowest set of points." He says, making Team B drop their heads.
"All that work for nothing," Tawna huffs annoyed, "Now we are stuck with 35 points." She grumbles crossing her arms.
"Yeah that's not fair!" Happy shouts.
"Fair or not, the decision was made so we have to accept it." Ezra states.
"Look on the bright side," Cana smirks, "we are going to be able to put together an even more kick ass team than we already had."
"I wish this could have happened earlier," Gray states," all we have left is the Two-Man battles, right?"
"Not exactly," Tawna explains, "typically there is a rest day, then on the last day there is some kind of battle that involves all teams and members."
"Whatever happens, I want to get revenge for what they did to Lucy!" Natsu shouts, firing up, "if they think they can treat her like that, then I'm going to show them they are dead wrong!" Natsu boasts with steam shooting out his nostrils.
"They won't know what hit them," Tawna smirks, clenching her fist mirroring her brother, "After a standoff after the first completion, I wouldn't put it past the Game officials to pair up Fairy Tail and SaberTooth for the two-man fights."
"Right you are, Katawna." Gramps nods, "They are going to announce line up before we make our new team entrance. They have indeed paired us with SaberTooth, this round of fights each team gets to choose who two wizards are going to fight. Sabertooth has already chosen their two Dragon Slayers."
"So, they are throwing out their best pair fighters," Tawna smirks, crossing her arms.
"It's your call Old Man," Laxus says looking to his grandfather, "who's your team." The guild members all nod in agreeance. There was no one better to choose the new Team Fairy Tail for the remainder of the games.
"I have already decided on most of the team." Gramps nods, "Natsu, because I already know you are going to fight anyways. Might as well get some points while doing it." Gramps says, looking at the taller Dragneel sibling.
"I won't let you down, Gramps," Natsu says, "I'll show those two jerks who's boss!"
"Erza and Laxus," Gramps says, directing his attention to the two S-Class mages, "we will be needing the strength of two of our most powerful wizards, especially when it comes to the team battle on the last day." Both S-Class wizards nod in agreement.
"Gray," Gramps says moving to the Ice Make Mage, "we need someone who is cool under pressure. Just try to keep the fighting with Natsu to the minimum."
"I'll do my best, Gramps." Gray smirks handing off a chunk of ice to Tawna, who happily accepts.
"Whose the last member, Master?" Mira asks looking between the remaining 6 members for the two teams.
"I can not decide between you two." Gramps answers looking between Tawna and Gajeel, "whoever does not compete today, will be our backup competitor if anything happens."
"I'd say put, Calico in." Gajeel says flatly, leaning against the wall crossing his arms. Glancing up he sees the blank stares of his guild mates. Many were expecting an argument between the two Dragon Slayers for the final spot, "Master said we are fighting Sabertooth," he huffs annoyed, "Calico has worked with the Guild in the past, if anyone is going to know how to fight them it's going to be her." Gramps directs his attention to Tawna who is still surprised that Gajeel offered her the spot.
"Are you sure, Gajeel?" Tawna asks, finishing her ice.
"You've been itching to fight those Bastards all week," Gajeel smirks, "I'd say let her and Salamander loose in that arena." Tawna smirks turning to her brother, putting her hands on her hips.
"What do you say, Bro," she grins, "wanna throw down with the So-called Twin Dragon Slayers?"
"Now that's what I'm talking about," Natsu smirks, resting his elbow on her shoulder.
"They may be called the Twin dragon Slayers," Elie smirks, "But they can't fight nearly as good as actual Sibling Dragon Slayers." The calico states.
"They may be some of Sabertooth's strongest pair fighters," Tawna smirks fist bumping her brother at Elie's comment, "but I've been on dozens of missions with the two of them over the last few years. So lucky for you all, I know all their tricks."
"Wouldn't they know your tricks too?" Happy asks, landing on Natsu's shoulder.
"Ha!" Tawna laughs, "I never went all out on those missions. They never saw half of it." She grins.
"That settles it then," Gramps states proudly looking at his Children, "Erza, Gray, Laxus, Katawna and Natsu will be the new Team Fairy Tail."
"Let's show them what Fairy Tail is really capable of!" Natsu shouts raising a fist.
"Aye!" The rest of the team cheers fired up, ready to make their comeback. The other Guilds aren't ready for what Fairy Tail is going to bring.
