Chapter 48: Angry Eyes
Kisuke looked at the portal leading into precipice world. Placing a hand into it, he winced as an electrical shock went through his body. Nobody but Aizen knew he was in the world of the living. So it had to have been Aizen who had put the barrier up. Thankfully, Aizen must have believed Shinji and the others to be dead. Otherwise there was no way they could've gone through into Soul Society. He just prayed that things didn't go wrong. He tapped a finger onto the top of his cane. He could feel Benihime thrum with impatience. Her power bearly contained. Are you truly going to let those children go up against that monster that got you thrown out of the Seiretei! she yelled at him.
She always had a bad temper. "Yoruichi is with them. So is Isshin and Shinji with the Visoreds will be there soon." he assured her. In his mind's eye he could see the clouds gathering in his inner world. Red, dark, angry clouds. A figure of a beautiful, black haired princess in a beautiful red kimono stood on a dark landscape looking towards him angrily. Closing his eyes Kisuke took a deep shaky breath. Her anger always affected him, because her anger was a reflection of his anger.
We can break that can barrier. she told him. Use me damn it!
His reiatsu suddenly raised, electricity sparking off of him as he swung the cane which lost its false form, revealing his beautiful zanpakuto princess, Benihime. She screamed as her blade came against the barrier. The explosion that came from this course of action shook the entire training room, and the shoten above too shook. The inhabitants inside the shoten fell to the ground because of the shaking. Tessai quickly stood, leaving the children with Masaki. Yuzu suddenly grasped her mother's arm. Masaki looked after where Tessai had vanished and kissed the top of her daughter's head before following the other man. After climbing down the ladder she almost bumped into Tessai.
Tessa stood with a shocked expression upon his face. The entire ground to the training space was gone. The portal ahead of them was now on fire around its edges. In the center of it was a hole in the form of Urahara. Suddenly the hole was swallowed up and vanished. "Boss." Tessai whispered. Knowing exactly where Urahara had gone.
As soon as Kisuke's feet touched the solid ground of Soul Society he felt a sensation unlike anything he had felt in a long time. It was as if the place he stood was welcoming him home. Engaging his faster flash step, Kisuke rushed to where he could feel the others, and Aizen fighting.
Kisuke arrived at Sokyoku Hill in time to see Ichigo and Shiro obliterated Aizen's highest kick attack. When Aizen went to grab his sword that had fallen when he had come crashing into the ground, Liquid flung Benihime at the fallen zanpakuto. When he did this, Aizen and every captain there stood still before looking toward where he stood. Kisuke's haori was singed around the edges, as was his blonde hair. His hat had disintegrated into dust when he had gone through the barrier. His dark grey eyes looked angrily at Aizen.
There stood Kisuke Urahara, in the flesh and all hell was about to be unleashed as Kisuke lifted Benihime to strike at Aizen. "NOW YOU COME!" Aizen yelled. "You had a hundred years and now is when you decide to come and fight me!"
He's become unhinged. Benihime commented, her eyes wide with shock. Did those two children truly undo him like this? She asked incredulously. Kisuke. Just what are those boys?
Dark grey eyes closed slowly before opening his eyes raising his reiatsu and rushing towards Aizen. Our saviors. Was the single thought he had towards her question. Benihime glowed bright red as Kisuke's free hand began to glow as well as he began to chant in a low voice, too low to be heard, as his zanpakuto struck Aizen's zanpakuto. Somehow, Aizen was able to strike back with his sword when suddenly, Kisuke's blade broke his. Thrusting his palm forward at Aizen's chest, skin touched skin. Aizen screamed in pain as the orb that had formed in Kisuke's palm forced its way into his body.
Aizen tell forward as his reiatsu suddenly vanished when it rolled to nothingness as the seal too effect. Kisuke fell backwards, losing his own strength, only to be caught by the two boys, Ichigo and Shiro. "Getabushi!" the two yelled out as the barrier Hachi and the other captains had been holding up, fell. The two boys sat him onto the ground so he could rest a moment.
"H-How can y-you follow that thing s-so blindly..." Aizen's voice asked as the final part of the seal took root.
"Thing? " Kisuke asked, truly not knowing what he meant for a moment. Taking a second to thing, Kisuke's eyes widened as understanding struck him. "This was all about the Soul King?"
Unable to answer as the seal took full form. Aizen was laid out on the ground with his hand outstretched towards Kisuke as if trying to grasp at him. "Who is the Soul King, Getabushi?" Shiro inquired quietly as the captain's of the gotei were coming closer.
"Who indeed." Kisuke answered as he looked up towards the sky. Looking towards the two boys, Kisuke spoke. "Thank-you and when we have a moment I'll explain everything."
"How about gettin' us home in one piece and callin' it good." Shiro told him with a quirk of a smile gracing his face.
"We can have story time at another date." Ichigo stated as he sat next to his teacher. "I'm whipped."
Shiro sat down as well. "Agreed!" he quipped. "I think my bruises have bruises." He complained. Seriously, he felt drained. Bone tired. Like he could sleep for a decade or two. Zen, what's with my sudden weakness?
The hollow looked sadly at him. You were together too long. was his answer.
Ah. Shiro looked over at his grinning brother. Is Ichi-
Zangetsu was able to separate you two before it began to affect both of you. The hollow was beginning to look translucent. We're going to die.
Shiro opening his eyes and noticed that he was on his back. Coughing, he tried to regain some breath. "Shiro?" he heard his brother's voice. Why did Ichigo sound like he was yelling into a tunnel? He couldn't answer Ichigo. His chest felt heavy. Kisuke's and Ichigo's worried faces appeared above him.
Ichigo turned away and looked over his should before yelling. "DAD!"
Isshin, who was looking at one of the injured lieutenants, suddenly heard Ichigo help for him. In that moment, he more scared that when the black coffin had surrounded his sons. Turning slowly, as time seemed to slow down for him. He saw Ichigo's frightened look as Kizuke looked up worried from Shiro's downed form. Something wasn't right. His boy wasn't moving! Standing quickly, he ran over to the downed boy.
"Shiro?" his voice sounded off. Shiro was breathing harshly, as if he couldn't get enough air. His usually dark lips were turning blue. His eyes suddenly opened. Isshin's widened. Gone were the gold on black eyes. Replacing those eyes were the most brilliant blue eyes he had ever seen, reminding Isshin of the bluest ocean. His own began to tear up.
"D-Don't cry...Pop..I'm ju-ust a hollow bo-orn child." Isshin grasped his hand and brought it up to his cheek.
"No. You're not." Isshin petted Shiro's silvery white hair. "You're my boy."
Shiro closed his eyes as a slight smile traced his lips. "Now...you..say it." His heart suddenly stopped and at that moment Isshin felt his own heart freeze, before grasping for his now dead son.
M-Angel: I've been planning this ending for awhile, but thankfully there are 2 more chapters left. I'm not leaving you guys all heartbroken! I promise!
