Journey to the west of Canada Part 2

In the last episode of Total Drama, Tyranny of the masses. Our campers will be against the ancient Chinese culture in a series of Chinese-inspired events. The last place in each of the events is out of the game. And the last one standing will win immunity.

But there is a secret, and as they say, two heads are better than one. So for this challenge, the campers will compete in teams of two, chosen by the mystic long huāpíng (龙花瓶). You can also acquire a copy of this mystic and ancient Chinese treasure for only $59.99.

Who will be paired with who? What are the events about? And will the campers learn something about Chinese culture? Probably not. Find out next in the exciting episode of Total Drama Tyranny of the masses.

The place was a Chinese castle. It was a black structure that looked like one of the buildings inside the Forbidden City in Beijing. In front of it, in a small plaza, the 12 remaining campers looked at each other with concern, disdain, or fear.

"And what if one of the team members beat the event and the other fail it?" asked Courtney, raising a hand.

"Hahaha, Courtney, Courtney. You don't know what the events are about, and you're already complaining? The rules apply. The team in the last place is out of the game. So do your best to NOT be the player that fails the event," said Chris laughing, keeping his hands inside his sleeves.

"The pairings are chosen randomly, right? Or you'll put us in some pair just for drama?" asked Amy, the last part in a snarky tone, while glaring at her sister.

The host shook his head. "The teams will be selected by the Dragon Vase, so think of them as some kind of destiny. For this same reason the teams are final."

"Chris, in case of…" Topher began but was interrupted by the host.

"As we only have 26 minutes, let's begin the dragon ceremony. Núli, bring me the vase!" ordered Chris, the interns carrying the vase just in front of the host.

"Do Núli really means Intern in Chinese?" one intern whispered to Logan.

The young helper just shrugged. "Probably not, but we don't want to find the real meaning of that word."

Confessional: Sky

The gymnast smiled at the camera. "YES! A teamwork challenge. I'm a great team player, so this should be an easy win. Also there are no players that I don't wanna team up," she then put a thoughtful expression. "Except Amy, Lilly, and maybe Heather. Also, Charlotte seems a little hard to talk … Ok, this challenge may be harder than I expected."

Confessional: Mike

"A team challenge after the merge? Sounds awesome. I always wanted to take part in one of these. I hope to be paired with Amy, Brick, or Topher, but someone new would also be thrilling," said Mike making an excited smile that showed the gap between his teeth.

Confessional: Courtney

"Chinese challenge? Ha, I'm sure that almost all the props and Chris' Chinese expressions are wrong. And I don't know who he's trying to fool, but these 'random pairs' are chosen beforehand. And I'm sure who will be my partner," said Courtney smiling confidently while folding her arms.

Confessional: Topher

The host wannabe groomed his hair and showed his best angle at the camera before talking. "I know it's impossible, but I would be the happiest man in the world if I end teaming up with Sammy. Just imagine winning immunity together the day after we start dating. It would be not only romantic but also will put us a step closer to win the competition."

Confessional: Charlotte

"A team game? Bring it on. Any e-gamer is also a natural team player, so I'm not afraid. Also, there are only a few toxic players on the selection screen. I just hope the randomizer doesn't put me with either of my enemies," Charlotte glared at the camera, hitting her hand with her fist.

Chris raised both arms, and as if he called it, a bolt of lightning illuminated the sky, "Let's start the ceremony. The first pair are…"

The host took 2 balls from the vase and read the names:

Cody and Duncan

The delinquent smirked, and the brunette guy looked upset at the ground.

"We're on the same team Codester, I just hope you can pull your weight in the challenge," said Duncan in a mocking tone that contrasted with him offering a hand to his teammate.

Cody sighed and shook Duncan's hand fiercely. "I was thinking the same thing. I hope you can back up your actions with what you're saying with your big mouth."

Both glared at each other before finishing the handshake.

Chris smiled. This challenge was starting with good vibes. "The second pair are…"

Lilly and Sky

The Cree girl covered her mouth with a concerned expression while Lilly walked quickly at her side, bowing.

"It seems we're a team again. I promise to do my best this time," said Lilly in a low but determined tone.

Sky took a deep breath and put a hand on the treehugger's shoulder. "I'm sure you will. Let's win this challenge."

But that was a small lie. The Cree girl was concerned about having to team with Lilly again. This will be a super hard challenge.

"It seems Lilly and Sky are fated to be in the same pair. Now the third team are …"

Heather and Courtney

Courtney stood there with the mouth open and frowning while Heather ran toward her and gave the Latin girl a big hug.

"I can't believe it, Court! We're on the same team! This challenge is already in our pocket," said Heather in an excited tone, making a big smile.

"You're right, let's win this," replied the Latin girl, but something felt off with the hug. It seemed warm and happy, but she felt uncomfortable, especially while looking at the Asian girl's smile. She didn't notice the smile transforming into a smirk as soon as she turned around.

"Ok, the vase chose quite a friendly team, let's hope the next one is more interesting. The next pair are…"

Brick and Charlotte

"NO! You can't put us in the same party. I want to use my ban on him," said Charlotte glaring angrily at both Brick and Chris.

The host wiggled his finger, making a mocking smile. "I already said it, there are no team swaps. The dragon vase's word is absolute."

Charlotte lowered her face, clenching her teeth. Brick walked toward the e-gamer and saluted her.

"I don't know what is your problem with me ma'am, but I hope we can make a truce at least for this challenge," said Brick, looking determined at the e-gamer.

She gave him a death glare, "You know what you did, traitor. But I'm not a quitter. I'll do my best even if that means you win another immunity."

"Oh, there seems to be more tension in that team than I expected. Anyway, let's finish this. The second-to-last team is…"

Mike and Topher

Chris whispered at Logan and the other intern. "Now get out of here and don't forget the vase."

Mike and Topher fist-bumped and hugged.

"I'm so happy to be in your team Toph," said Mike, making a big grin.

Topher patted his friend back. "Me too. Let's show them who are the best team in this show."

But while the friends celebrated, other two contestants were looking with a mix of surprise and contempt at each other.

"It must be some kind of joke," said Sammy, covering her mouth.

Amy shook her head, frowning. "You took the words from my mouth Samey. And the joke isn't funny."

Chris smiled. "And as you probably realize it. The last team are Amy and Samey. Yes, it may be unfair to let the twins together, but the teams made by the vase are definitive."

Amy and Samey glared at each other. It was the first time they had to work together since the talent show.

"Don't drag me down, Samey," said Amy glaring at her sister.

Samey glared back, "I say the same thing Amy, don't be a coward and throw the challenge just to spite me."

"Now let's get started with the first event," exclaimed Chris raising his arms.

Confessional: Chris

"I'll not lie. We didn't cheat, but we put the twins together intentionally to make the challenge more exciting. But the draw was fair. We only didn't include either of the sisters' names. It was a clever idea thought up by DAM. That computer is really smart," said Chris nodding and smiling at the camera.

First event: Zen Archery [禪宗射箭]

The interns began to put six straw targets. They were five-colored as those used on archery competitions. The interns put them on the opposite side of the plaza.

At the same time, Steve, the chubby intern also dressed in a Chinese attire, pushed a cart with some black clothes, bows, and arrows next to the contestants.

Brick gulped audibly. "We're not shooting apples at our teammates' heads while blindfolded, right?" the soldier blanched as flashbacks of the talent show appeared in his head.

"Hehehe, no, that isn't really Chinese, and it would be repetitive," replied Chris making a sadistic smile.

He then took a bow and showed it to the contestants. "This event is called Zen Archery. Each team has a bow and 3 arrows. You must shoot at the targets. Each zone in the target had a value, 10,20,35,50 and 100. The best 5 scores advance to the next challenge. The team in 6th place is out of the competition."

"You know Zen Archery is Japanese, not Chinese, right Chris?" said Heather in a cold and harsh tone.

The host raised his hand in a defensive gesture. "Hey! Don't get angry. You just sounded like Harold."

"There are things you can't mix, McLame," spitted Heather while tossing her braid in his direction.

"Ok, don't be so angry. Just forget the name of the event," said Chris frowning.

Cody then raised a hand. "So who can shoot the arrows? We choose one of us? Or we have to take turns?"

"Neither of those. For this event, you both will have your eyes blindfolded, and each of you can only use one hand. So both have to shoot the 3 arrows," said Chris clapping three times.

"And what if there is a tie in the last place?" asked Courtney, raising an eyebrow.

Chris smiled. He was already waiting for the Latin girl question. "Then the team with the arrow closer to the center of the target wins. If the tie is at zero points, we'll give each team an extra arrow until someone hits the target."

Courtney opened her mouth to say something but closed it again. She was nagging because she had to team with Heather.

"Ok, teams. Now go and stand in the starting position. Once all teams are in their place and blindfolded, we will get started," said the host clapping.

In a moment, all the teams were in their places. The target was at 18 meters(20 yards) from the contestants. Next to each team was an intern carrying 2 blindfolds, 3 arrows, and a bow.

"Oh, and I almost forget. Next to each pair is an intern that will help you. This is to avoid anyone accidentally shooting another team. You know we don't want you to eliminate the competition that way. At least for now," said Chris laughing sinisterly.

"Oh Chris, you're so funny. But can we get started?" asked Topher in a snarky tone cutting the host, meaning it was NOT funny.

Chris frowned and raised a hand. "I don't like your tone. But anyway…" the host lowered his hand, and an intern rang a gong. "Let the Zen Archery begin!"

As the gong started, the teams began to whisper, talk or shout among them while trying to shoot the arrows.

"I'll hold the bow, and you shoot the arrow," said Amy in a harsh tone, holding the bow.

"NO! I'll hold the bow and aim, and you draw the arrow," replied Sammy also holding the bow.

Amy sighed audibly, letting go of the bow and holding an arrow. "As you wish, I don't really care. Why do you always have to go against me?"

Sammy was surprised her sister let her aim, but her answer upset her. "I'm not always against you…"

"See!? You disagree again. Just focus on the challenge," said Amy interrupting her.

Sammy took the bow and aimed at the place she remembered was the target. This was more about luck than about skill. She just hoped Amy could shoot the arrow.

Logan was the intern in charge of the twins. He looked at them amused but never expected what was coming.

In a single movement, the twins shot their first arrow and hit the target's blue-colored zone.

"35 points," exclaimed Logan.

"Amy, this is like when we were kids and played together," said Sammy, excited by them hitting the target.

When they were younger, the twins played with their father's sweaters, both wearing one sweater and playing using one hand each. They never shoot arrows but dressed dolls or eat using one the fork and the other the knife.

Amy took another arrow and talked in a softer voice. "I'm surprised you remember that. I thought you hated all about me."

"What? No, it was you…" Sammy was taken back, but again was interrupted by Amy.

"We`re in the middle of a challenge, so focus. Ready?" replied the older sister.

Sammy kept quiet, and they shot again. This time getting the arrow in the red zone. Logan couldn't believe it. Even if they hate the other one so much, their movements were like one person.

On Lilly's team, they weren't doing too well.

"Sorry but … do you know how to use a bow? I mean…" Lilly asked blushing,

"No. Not all Cree know how to use a bow and arrow. And that was mean and racist," replied Sky. She didn't like Lilly before, but it was getting worse.

The treehugger panicked. "Oh no, of course not. I didn't mean it like that. I'm so sorry."

"Ok, don't worry," replied Sky, sighing, "I'll hold the bow, and you shot ok?"

"I'm not sure I'm strong enough to pull the arrow. Maybe it's better if you shoot and I aim?" asked Lilly in a low and concerned tone, twiddling her fingers.

Sky sighed again. "Ok, just hold it like I'm doing now and don't move it, ok? I'm already aiming at the center."

Lilly nodded wildly. There was a small silence.

"Miss Lilly said yes. But you can't see it Miss Sky," said the intern politely, trying to not laugh.

"Oh I'm sorry, I forget you were also blindfolded," replied Lilly holding the bow. Sky just clenched her teeth.

Lilly held the bow firmly. It was her chance to prove to Sky that she could help. And also to show Cody she was a good contestant.

The Cree girl pulled the string with all her strength. And released it, praying it at least hit the target.

"I can't believe it, 100 points!" exclaimed the intern surprised.

Sky fist pumped. "Well done Lilly, let's try to get another 100."

Lilly nodded widely again and then blushed. "I mean yes."

The next shoot was a 50, but anyway those 150 points warrant them a place in the first five.

Topher and Mike were doing well. The Spiky-haired was aiming and Topher shooting. They already got 20 points.

"So you went to see Sammy yesterday?" asked Mike, who didn't get a chance to talk with him in the morning.

"Yes, you know it's like a dream. She's wonderful, kind, and a cinephile like me. I just love to spend time with her," said Topher in an excited tone.

Mike tilted his head, "What's a cinephile?"

"A person who loves movies," replied the host wannabe.

"S-Sorry to interrupt you, but we're in the middle of a challenge. Can you keep shooting, p-please?" asked the intern, rubbing her neck.

Topher and Mike laughed nervously. The thin guy bowing a little, "of course."

Mike put out his tongue and moved the bow a little to the right, and took a small breath. "Ready Toph? Shoot!"

The Host wannabe pulled the string and released the arrow that hit the target.

"50 points!? Wow how did you know where to move to aim?" asked the intern, surprised.

"Gut feeling," replied Mike, not moving the bow. "Somehow I know where to aim. Maybe it was the experience in the great Australian outback."

Topher chuckled. "It's awesome how you acquired the skills of all your personalities."

"I didn't acquire them. It is more like mixing them. They just fused in me, like a cocktail," replied the Spiky-haired guy, in a lower tone.

"Isn't the same thing?" asked Topher, putting his hand on Mike's shoulder.

But the thin guy didn't answer the question. "Let's talk later. I'm already aiming again. Go for it Toph."

The host wannabe released the last arrow. But he needed to talk later with Mike about this. It was clear this subject upset him.

Courtney and Heather were in a weird situation. It was true they were "allies," but both suspect the other had a double agenda. They haven't done any advancement in shooting at the target.

"I can't believe archery is not part of the skill set of a camp counselor. It seems that being a CIT wasn't so good after all," said Heather in a snarky tone.

"Are you done with your passive-aggressive comments? We don't have time to lose, so I'll hold the bow, and you shoot the arrow," said Courtney trying to not shout.

Heather shrugged. "As long as you can point, I don't care. Just take responsibility if we lose."

The former CIT sighed but didn't want to fight more with her 'friend' so she just pointed the bow while Heather pulled the string and released it.

The intern covered his mouth. "T-Too weak, the arrow didn't reach the target."

"WHAT!?" shouted Courtney. "What are you doing? You just needed to pull the string with all your strength!"

"If it's so easy, let's see you shoot, miss Robin Hood," shouted Heather, taking the bow from Courtney's hand.

Courtney hissed, red from anger. "I will. Just try to not ruin the shoot aiming at the wall."

This time Heather was the one that decided to not say anything else. The Latin girl pulled the string but felt the bow shaking on the Queen Bee hand.

"Hold it, steady!" shouted Courtney.

Heather held it tighter. "Stop whining and just shoot."

Courtney released the arrow. And after a moment they heard it hit the target.

"I can't believe it. It hit the center, 100 points," stuttered the intern, blinking a couple of times.

"Well done, Court. See? There was nothing to worry about," said Heather in a more jubilant tone.

Courtney chuckled. "Thanks, it's quite reassuring you say that after ruining the first shoot."

"Hey! who is the one being passive-aggressive now?" asked the Queen Bee in an upset tone.

Then both laugh. Maybe they could pass to the next event after all.

Meanwhile Brick and Charlotte were in trouble. The first shot hit the 10 points mark, but that wasn't the team's biggest problem.

"I can't believe you miss the mark like that," said Charlotte scoffing. "But again I wasn't expecting anything from you."

"Ma'am, since you returned to the game, I have felt some hostility from you. If you have a problem with me we can talk about it later, but we agreed to make a truce to beat the task at hand," said Brick. He was a little disheartened at Charlotte's attitude, but he knew that the e-gamer wouldn't act like that without reason.

Charlotte's voice was cold as ice. "Don't try the nice guy act with me. I know what you did. But you're right. Let's beat this stage first. But mark my words, next time you lose, you're out of the game.

"Ma'am I swear that I don't know what you're talking about," said Brick in a distressed tone.

"Just make the shot, and we'll talk later," said the e-gamer in the same cold tone. She adjusted her aim in the direction she felt the target was.

Brick pulled the string with a lot of strength and shot the arrow.

"Nice shoot! 20 points," said the intern enthusiastically.

"Awesome partner. Now let's try to get more points from the last shoot," said Brick in an excited tone.

The E-gamer smiled slightly. Even if she hated him, his positive attitude was contagious. But Charlotte needed to be strong. After all he was also a schemer and a liar.

She adjusted her aim again, trying to go for the center. "Just take the last shoot."

The cadet saluted even if she couldn't see him and pulled the string the last time. The sound of the arrow hitting the target made him smile.

"35 points, you were getting closer." Repeated the intern snapping her fingers.

Brick took the blindfold and smiled at the e-gamer, who just glared back at him. Whatever he did, it seemed serious, so the cadet needed to talk about it with her as soon as possible.

And while this happened, the last team was also doing their best.

"50 points? For real Codemeister put your back in pulling the string, we need the stupid arrows to go nice and straight to the target," said Duncan smirking.

Cody sighed, "You're the one aiming! But ok I'll pull it further. Remember I only shot real arrows a couple of times before in medieval fairs."

"Then you already shoot more arrows than me. So less complaining and more shooting," replied the delinquent.

He was provoking Cody intentionally, so the intern didn't notice Duncan's blindfold wasn't covering his left eye completely. That's why Duncan was aiming and why he sat with the intern at his right.

And predictable, this time the hit in the black colored center.

"100 points. It seems those medieval fairs paid off," said the intern, whistling.

Cody put out his chest proudly. "Arrows and love are the same to the Codemeister. In the end he always hits his mark."

"Yeah, yeah. Now let's see if you can hit the same mark 2 times," replied Duncan in a snarky tone.

"Your nasty personality never changes, eh Duncan? Why can't you try to be a little more positive?" asked Cody, taking another arrow and tucking it in the bow.

Duncan shrugged, even if the brunette guy couldn't see it. "What can I say? I don't really try. It's part of my charming personality. But I promise to be nice if you hit the target again with the next shoot."

"Ok, it's a promise," said Cody smiling. He pulled the arrow like the last time and prayed that Duncan wasn't so petty as to ruin his shoot.

The projectile flew and hit right into the target. But Cody was more interested in the result. He waited a moment to hear the intern announcing the result.

"A hundred points again! You're doing great." Said the intern, fist-pumping enthusiastically into the air.

Cody's face beamed, "See, the Codemeister always delivers."

"You won this round. It seems I'll need to be nicer from now on," said the delinquent, smirking.

"That sounded creepier than I expected," replied the brunette guy rubbing his neck.

Duncan patted his shoulder. It seemed like his plan was working as expected.

The 12 contestants gathered around the center of the plaza as soon as they finished shooting.

Chris watched at them, making a mocking smile. "And now, let's announce the results of the Zen Archery event. The teams that advance to the next round are Duncan's team, Sky's team, Heather's team…"

"Why is Heather's team and not Courtney's team?" protested the Latin girl.

The host rolled his eyes. "Because the team is named after the member that went furthest in a season. Heather ended in first, and your best was a 4th."

Courtney opened her mouth to exclaim and then closed it blushing. She didn't intend to say that, but she did it out of force of habit.

"Ehem, as I was saying, also the twins' team, and the boring Mike team pass to the next event. Brick and Charlotte, you suck! You're out of the competition," said Chris making an evil smirk at the losers.

"I'm sorry to fail in this mission, ma'am," Brick said, looking at Charlotte while lowering his eyebrows.

The e-gamer waved her hand dismissing him. "It's better this way. I didn't want to be in the same party with you for this raid." She then turned her back at him, leaving a confused Brick behind.

"Now follow me to the Palace's Banquet hall for the second event," said Chris, while stepping down from the platform.

He then went inside a litter[1] and was carried to the hall by 4 interns while the contestants followed them.

Confessional: Charlotte

The e-gamer was glaring at the screen, her arms resting on her knees. "I hate losing. But in this game, this just opened the B path for me. I may not get the immunity but I can at last eliminate that traitor."

Confessional: Brick

"I don't know why Charlotte is so angry at me. I think there is some kind of misunderstanding between us. I need to talk with her about this. I just hope it's nothing serious," The cadet then looked at the floor with a worried expression, trying to think what may be the reason behind Charlotte's anger.

Second Event: Imperial banquet (皇家宴會)

Inside the building were 2 tables with 6 chairs each and over the tables 4 and 6 metallic lids. Each contestant sat in front of a lid while Brick and Charlotte sat on an uncomfortable stone bench.

In the middle of the room Chef was wearing a traditional red woman hanfu[2], and a black-haired wig with a bun. He was frowning and with his arms folded.

"For the second event we will spoil you. You just have to eat the delicious delicacy that Chef prepared for you. The last team finishing it is out of the competition," said Chris in a serious and grandiose tone.

The campers looked at each other with worried expressions. The same question was in every person's mind.

"B-But this is edible. Right?" asked Sammy, raising a hand. "It's not something like cockroaches or monkey brains."

"Or a fried spider," said Heather wincing.

"Or that jellyfish and grasshopper pizza," added Mike, lowering his eyebrows.

Duncan shrugged. "That wasn't that bad, actually."

"SHUT UP!" shouted Chris. "No it's none of those. But thanks, this gives us ideas for future challenges."

The host looked back at Chef, who was writing the ideas in a small notepad and smirking. He gave thumbs up to Chris.

"And as I was saying, you'll find out what you have to eat right now. After the gong you can open the lid and eat it as fast as you can," explained Chris in a mocking tone.

There were a lot of audible gulps around the room. Then the gong sounded, and everyone opened the lid. But what they found was a boiled egg.

But as soon as Heather cracked the shell, she screamed, then more groans and protests filled the room.

Brick was glad for losing the first round, but Charlotte was curious about the dish's taste.

"This delicacy is called maodan in China, but is more famous by their Philippine name Balut. As you can see, it's a fertilized boiled duck egg with a 14 days duck embryo. And remember you have to eat EVERYTHING," said Chris in a mocking tone.

A low and polite voice interrupted the host. "But this is unfair. What about us who are vegetarian?"

"I knew something like that would happen, so just for you we have a different delicacy. A century egg!" exclaimed Chris, giving Chef a signal.

The big man walked with a plate in his hand and put it in front of Lilly. It was a green-looking egg with a strong sulfur-like smell.

Sky covered her mouth, but the treehugger smiled. This was an unexpected surprise.

"If there are no more interruptions. Let's get started," said the host, as an intern rang a gong.

Now all the teams were struggling to eat the egg, but just looking at the embryo was enough to make most of them turn their faces in disgust. But not all.

Courtney took away the shell, and with her eyes closed, put the entire egg in her mouth and ate it without hesitation.

Heather looked at her and felt like retching. She covered her mouth as the former CIT glared at her.

"What are you waiting for? If you don't eat it we will lose!" said Courtney in a harsh tone.

Heather's eyes went wide. "You're not expecting…"

"I already ate mine," replied Courtney interrupting the Asian girl.

It was at that moment that Heather realized there was no going back. And if she gave up Courtney may want to end their alliance. So she did the only thing she could do.

"Don't be so dramatic. I was just saying you didn't expect for me to eat it with its shell," said Heather, taking off the shell and putting the egg in her mouth.

The flavor wasn't that bad but for her it was like munching sandpaper. After what seemed like ages Heather swallowed the damn thing.

"DONE-" said the Queen Bee while covering her mouth.

"Did you see that? What are you waiting for?" asked Amy while glaring at her sister.

"Are you kidding? There is no way I can eat this!" replied Sammy covering her mouth.

Amy rolled her eyes. "It's only an egg!"

"Then why don't you eat yours first!"

The older twin's eye twitched, but before she could answer, they heard another team finishing.

"Well done Lilly, You really wolfed it," said Sky, making a big grin.

Lilly nodded and blushed. "It's not so much. I had century eggs before. My mother likes them a lot. She said they're great for the skin." She then made a big smile. "And you also were awesome eating that balut."

"It was easy. It was only a boiled egg," said Sky flexing her arm.

The treehugger blinked a couple of times, "It wasn't a boiled egg, balut is…"

"IT WAS ONLY A BOILED EGG," repeated Sky, her face darkening. She then covered her mouth with a nauseated expression.

Lilly didn't say anything else, only nodded wildly.

After watching Lilly win, Amy just took the shell from her egg and ate it.

"Done" said the older twin, still munching the delicacy. "Your turn Samey."

The younger twin began to sweat. She didn't want to do it. It was gross, and she felt dizzy only looking at it.

"Or maybe you can't do it. That would be a shame, but we already knew you aren't as good as me," said Amy in an arrogant tone.

Those words were enough to make Sammy's blood boil. She took the egg and ate it quickly without thinking.

"I'm as good as you Amy. Remember that," said Sammy looking defiantly at her sister's eyes.

The older sister smiled impishly. Sammy was more arrogant and annoying now, but also was easier to manipulate.

"THIS IS AWESOME," shouted Chris in a surprised tone. "The 3 girls teams have already finished, so the last place will be between the 2 guys teams."

Mike and Topher were sitting next to Cody and Duncan. Next to them was Chef, fanning himself with a beautiful red fan.

Duncan threw the egg into the air and ate it in one gulp, while Mike ate it like a normal boiled egg.

"Ugh Mik! How could you do that!" said the pretty boy trying to not vomit.

Mike licked his lips. "It's not so hard. Just think many people love to eat this every day and think it's delicious. This is food, so there is no reason to think it's disgusting."

At the same time, Duncan was covering his mouth. His face was as green as his hair.

"What happened maggot? Eating the balut like that wasn't a good idea right?" said Chef chuckling while enjoying Duncan's distressed expression.

"Shut up!" shouted Duncan trying to look strong. He then faced Cody. "and you eat that damn egg!"

But the brunette guy winced. "I can't. The chicken is looking at me."

"It's a duck not a chicken," Chef rolled his eyes. "And it can't look at you. It doesn't have damn eyes."

"Chef, you're not really acting your role as a Chinese maiden," said Cody rubbing his neck.

The big man covered his mouth with the fan and glared at him. "Really? I didn't know you were an expert in Chinese culture."

"Stop wasting time making small talk and eat it!" said Duncan, who was using all his will to not throw up.

"Hehehe, you caught me," replied Cody, rubbing his neck. This was hard for him.

Luckily Topher wasn't doing better.

"C´mon, just close your eyes and eat it. Think it's a hamburger or a cake," said Mike putting a hand on the host's wannabe shoulder.

"Sorry, but you're what you eat, and I definitely don't want to be this," replied Topher looking disgusted at the egg.

The man with spiky hair sighed. "I'll not force you. But are you really giving up? Do you want to lose without even trying?"

Mike's words hit Topher in his confidence. He didn't want to give up, and much less take Mike with him.

He looked at Cody, and Cody looked at him. Both men made their decision at the same time.

Cody took off the shell of his egg and bit it while the host put the whole thing in his mouth. Munching a lot and swallowing without thinking.

"And the winner is," Chris said in an excited tone, and then looked at his co-host. "Chef, who is the winner and who is out of the competition?"

"Your imitator and noodle arms are the winners," said Chef in an unamused tone.

"I'm sorry, if I just ate it faster," said Cody, looking at the ground.

Duncan patted his shoulder and then ran away gagging.

"Hehehe, it seems that the delinquent didn't like the balut," laughed Chef, enjoying Duncan's suffering.

Topher air pumped. "I can't believe I did it. And it was worse than I expected."

Mike rubbed his back. "Well, you're supposed to peel off the shell. But thanks to those seconds we won. So everything is ok."

The host wannabe jaw dropped. That explained the awful texture of the dish.

Chris ignored Topher's personal drama and continued with his speech. "DAM agrees with Chef. The winners are Mike and Topher! Cody and Duncan are out of this challenge."

Heather made a small smile, but Courtney didn't show any emotion.

"Now follow me to the imperial stables, where we'll have the next event," said Chris walking in front of the contestants.

It didn't sound so bad. It was probably a horse race or something like that. It would surely be easier than this challenge.

Confessional: Cody

"Oh that sucked! I'm not a picky eater but this was too much. The worst part is that once you taste it isn't that bad. It's a little jelly-like and the white is not tasty. But was completely edible. Oh man I blew it," said Cody looking sadly at the floor.

Confessional: Duncan

The delinquent was facing the toilet and then looked at the camera, his face pale as a sheet. "Fucking Chris and his eating challenges. I'm not sure what they put in my egg but it killed me. I swear that Chris and Chef will pay for this." After saying that, Duncan turned away to vomit again.

Third Event: Traditional Bear Rodeo (傳統的熊牛仔競技)

This time the contestants and interns were in front of what seemed to be an ancient horse stable (actually a reproduction made from recycled wood). It had a circular fence that was connected to the building, Leaving a big empty area inside the fence.

On the grass near the stables, Brick, Duncan, Charlotte, and Cody were watching at the event. Cody decided to talk with Charlotte while Brick was with Duncan.

"I can't believe it, G.I. Brick. How is it that you got eliminated in the first round? Didn't they teach you to shoot a bow in the army?" asked Duncan in a snarky tone.

Brick made a small smile. "I don't know if I'll join the army, but right now I just ended the military school and my first year at the fashion school."

"Yes, I remember you talking about that," said Duncan making a mocking smirk. He then patted the cadet's shoulder. "You should meet my friend DJ. I'm sure you would be good friends."

And near them Cody went to talk with Charlotte.

"What a bummer we both are out of the challenge," said Cody, who noticed the e-gamer scowling. "Are you ok?"

She winced, not noticing Cody getting closer. "What? Sorry I was loading. And no I don't have any quest to give you."

"That's a lie," replied the brunette guy, looking into her eyes. "C'mon Charlotte, we're friends and fellow returnees. There is no need to bottle up things."

"Then I may need your help later," said Charlotte. This was an unexpected development, but she was grateful for it.

While this happened, some interns carried a stone pillar to the front of the fence. Chris stood over it, raising his arms to get the contestants' attention.

"Congratulations on reaching the third event. For this one, our interns are giving you a specially made silk rope. You need it to tie yourself to your partner. You can choose which one can go in front," said Chris while the interns delivered the rope as the host said.

"This isn't silk. It's painted hemp," said Heather glaring at the host.

"I won't ask how you have such deep knowledge in ropes Heather. But we're over budget, so it's necessary to cut expenses here and there." Said Chris, winking. "Anyhow, this is the traditional Bear Rodeo. You need to mount a bear and stay on its back as long as you can. The 3 pairs with the better time will advance to the next event."

Courtney raised a hand. "Excuse me but this event is a scam. There is nothing like a bear rodeo, much less a traditional one either in China or anywhere else."

"Yes Chris, if you're doing a Chinese-themed challenge, at least try to use authentic Chinese traditions," said Topher shrugging and chuckling at the host.

"Shut up. Are you all experts on Chinese culture?" asked Chris talking before any of them could answer. "NO you aren't! And we didn't have any Chinese horses but we have bears. So you will have to ride a bear or you're out of the challenge."

While Chris said this, some Chinese dressed interns, including Steve, were grooming scuba bears, painting him in white and black like a panda and taking off his goggles and the air tank.

The contestants looked unamused at the interns. This was getting more ridiculous and sad at each moment.

"I understand that pandas are more traditional, but there are also black and brown bears in China. There was no need to paint Mr. Scuba bear like a panda. I mean it's fine if you want but it was also fine if you didn't," explained Lilly in her polite tone.

"Augh! Don't waste your breath with him Lilly. Chris just likes to waste time," said Amy covering her mouth but loud enough for everyone to hear.

The host glared at her but decided to ignore the provocation. "And to make things interesting, as you already guessed, you have to mount it at the same time tied together. If you're untied, you will be disqualified, so be careful."

"And finally, the mounting order will be determined randomly. So we will announce who goes first and who goes last. So let's start the event NOW!" The intern rang the gong while Chris smirked. "Our Chinese experts Courtney and Heather, you go first."

Courtney glared at the host, but there was nothing more to say. She and Heather walked next to the pen in which Scuba bear, now painted like a panda, was frowning and reading a newspaper.

"Ok I'll go in the front and you behind me," said Courtney, watching the bear and trying to figure out a strategy to keep riding it.

"Why? I also want to sit at the front. It's the best position," protested Heather, looking down on Courtney.

The Latin girl rolled her eyes. "It's nothing personal, but you're taller than me and have longer arms. So it'll be easier for you to keep your grip behind me while I try to hold at his head."

Heather sighed but decided to not do as she wished this time. "Ok Court you're right. Let's follow your idea."

The interns tied the girls together. Once they were ready, they also helped the contestants to climb up a small staircase and sit in scuba panda's backs. The bear was already on his four paws and ready to go.

"Let the first entry of the rodeo GO!" shouted Chris from a throne-like chair, letting Steve rang a smaller gong.

The door at the pen opened and Scuba panda went out quickly, running and bucking like a horse. His frowning face showed he wasn't happy with this idea.

Courtney and Heather were leaning forward. The Latin girl put her hands around the bear's neck, but her arms weren't long enough to surround the fake panda's neck. So instead she held at the fur with her hands.

Heather meanwhile, held at the fur with her hands and buried her heels at the bear side, trying to stay firm.

"The damn rope is burning my back," said Heather gritting her teeth.

"It's your own fault for using that skimpy outfit all the time," rebuked Courtney, who had had enough trying to stay in the bear's back.

Heather glared at her, "It's my trademark outfit. But naturally you can't understand it having your kind of body."

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY THAT!" shouted Courtney. She wasn't sure what Heather meant but it was an insult.

Scuba bear was tired of hearing the bitching in his back and tried to buck and jump more wildly. He was programmed to buck in any way he could but he couldn't stand in 2 feet.

The girls held tighter and closed their mouths to not bite their tongues but after some seconds, they both flew off the bear's back and hit the ground some meter afar from him.

"That was an awesome first try. You stood good 96 seconds on the bear's back. Let's see the other teams beat that," said Chris in a mocking tone.

Courtney untied herself and stood up. She and Heather were a little dizzy after falling from the bear. But she quickly recovered her composure after looking at Heather.

"CHRIS YOU WILL PAY FOR THIS!" shouted the former CIT.

Heather was startled by the shout and then realized what happened. "YOU'RE SO DEAD!"

Courtney's pants and sweater and Heather's legs and shorts were painted in black and white paint.

"Hahaha, I'm sorry it seems Scuba bear paint was still fresh," laughed Chris, but he then turned at the interns. "But don't worry, we have it under control."

The female interns ran toward them and in a moment painted Courtney's outfit in black and Heather's shorts in white.

"This isn't really a solution. You'll have to pay for these clothes," said Courtney narrowing her eyes.

The host rolled his eyes. "Ok, we'll pay for them. Now twins it's your turn.

Courtney and Heather went with the others while the twins walked next to the scuba bear's pen.

"Courtney! Black really suits you," shouted Duncan smirking. The former CIT just narrowed her eyes at him while Heather flipped the bird in his direction.

Amy and Sammy meanwhile looked at each other. This will be harder than the two former events.

Chris enjoyed the drama and smiled at the camera. "And the third event is on. Can the remaining teams beat the 96 seconds record, or one of them will be out of the challenge? And which pair will win the 2 remaining events and get the sweet immunity? Find out after the break here in Total Drama Tyranny of the masses."

Author Notes:

[1] A litter is a wheelless method of transport. Basically is a chair that is carried by two or more people.

[2] Hanfu is a term used to describe the clothes worn by the Chinese people during the Hand era. Chef is using an aoqun that has a long underskirt. But to keep it simple is a traditional Chinese dress.

And the challenge is on. There are still 8 players in the game, but only 2 can get the immunity. Who will be the lucky pair? And who will be the camper going home tonight? And will the 2 last challenges be actual Chinese challenges? Find the answers to this and more questions in the next episode of Total Drama Tyranny of the masses.

I hope it's been fun, the second challenge idea came from an actual challenge on a tv show, but a friend told me maybe it was too much. That's why I put the disclaimer at the beginning. I hope it wasn't too much, but I would like to hear your opinion.
