"It's lovely to see you face to face again my dear." Leuvis said smirking as he saw Emma face to face when she came to distract him for a little while as the others got rid of the other high ranking demons.
"Nice to see you too…dad." Emma said with a smirk of her own as she stared at Leuvis who's eyes widened slightly at hearing the title she had given him.
"So you know then?" Leuvis asked and Emma waved it off a bit as if it were no big deal.
"I remember as far back as mom being pregnant with me. Of course I remember meeting you when I was a baby and how everyone called me the hybrid child. It doesn't take much to put the pieces together." Emma said shrugging it off easily and not looking bothered in the slightest.
"The fact that I'm faster, stronger, and have better reflexes and heal faster than the other kids was a pretty big clue too. Plus my red eye." Emma said and he had to admit that she had a point since her demonic red eye was a pretty good indicator that she wasn't fully human.
"So we have what? Ten, fifteen minutes before the rest of your subjects get here and we have a battle? Would you like a drink while we wait?" Leuvis asked holding out a wine glass to Emma whose gaze hardened as she stared at it.
"Drink the blood of an innocent child who was murdered in cold blood in an illegal hunting ground that is against the agreement made between the Ratri clan and the demon King of the time in front of The One? No thanks." Emma's voice was ice cold now and Leuvis paused a bit as her words sunk in. It was true that they weren't supposed to hunt the cattle children and thus Goldy Pond was an illegal hunting ground…hmph. She was better informed than he thought she would be.
He honestly shouldn't have expected any less from his daughter and the Queen of the escaped cattle.
"Surely as another predator you can understand the need for the hunt and that hunting for your own food is a lot better than merely being served like a cattle stuffed for the slaughter?" Leuvis asked and Emma scoffed slightly.
"Surely as someone of noble blood and raising you understand the importance and need for keeping law and order and the fact that both hunting cattle children and eating them in general is unnecessary if you drink of the, what do you call it? The evil blood?" Emma asked and Leuvis's eyes widened and his entire body tensed.
"What do you know of that?" Leuvis asked his voice shocked but deepening as he stared at her hard while she merely shrugged.
"I know all I need to. The ability to give demons their humanoid form and intelligence just with one sip or cup of blood but the entire village being wiped out and the last remaining 'evil blooded' being hunted down more than any cattle child is and being protected by Uncle Sunjo…I'm guessing those in charge of the farms didn't want anyone to find out about her ability because it would cost them money and power that they didn't want to give up. That's why she's hunted down and why those in power call her the Evil Blooded." Emma said casually as if it were everyday common knowledge.
"You're…very informed." Leuvis noted that much and Emma gave him a small smirk that showed one of her pointy teeth.
"I have friends in high places and friends who are very good at getting information if I ask for it." Emma said as if it were something as simple as reading it in a book and Leuvis recalled that she was noted to have some kind of connection to The One. So he was probably how she knew. Honestly Leuvis wanted to know why The One was so interested in this little hybrid queen.
But it wasn't his place to know just yet…he'll learn when the time is right.
"So I'm guessing you don't want any blood. It's a shame that you're starving yourself when you could be so much stronger if you ate or drank like a demoness." Leuvis said a bit disappointed that his daughter refused to eat or drink of humans. Perhaps she shouldn't have been raised around humans, it must have warped her demon side.
"Who said I don't drink blood? I just don't drink blood of innocent children who were murdered. Some of my friends happily donate their blood to me if I ever ask them for it or if they think I need it." Emma said and Leuvis' mind screeched to a stop for a moment at that. So… the other humans who followed her knew of her demon heritage and not only still followed her but also gave her blood of their own free will?
"And you think they will continue to follow you even if you drink from them?" Leuvis asked and making Emma grin at him.
"They will because not only do I trust them but they knew what I was long before we escaped the farm. They trusted and followed me for this long. And I know that they will continue to do so for even longer because we trust each other and trust is the base of any lasting relationship." Emma said and Leuvis paused at that and his mind was stuck on that last word. Relationship.
Relationship. As in courting? As in mating and marriage?
Leuvis knew the basics of genetics from so long of watching the farms in action. He had met the woman who had carried his child and who had became the Grandma just after the children escaped. She wasn't a lot by demon standards but from what he overheard from some of the human men and even a few of the other Sisters and Moms…she was considered beautiful by human standards.
He was a catch by demon standards and he had overheard one or two humans muttering about why he was so good looking which meant he was attractive by human standards as well.
Two attractive parents and they had a child who was pretty much a perfect mix of the two of them. Her mothers human appearance and body with some of his demon traits like her eye and her nails and her muscles…
…
His daughter was considered a good catch by both human and demon standards. She would only become more beautiful as she grew.
Relationships…
"Nope. Nope. Nope. Nope." Emma tilted her head confused as Leuvis muttered nope over and over to himself at the thought of his daughter being with anyone demon or human in a romantic way.
He had a bit of a dark aura around him but it wasn't aimed at her and so Emma gave a confused smile and shrug to where she sensed Nigel ready with his gun in one of the windows of a building.
Why was her dad acting so weird?
