Ren almost panicked when Atsumu had seemingly vanished into thin air. But a fraction of a second later, when her gaze fell down to the side, and there he was...
... On his knee...
... Holding a velvet box...
Oh. My. God.
But before she further process it any further, he opened the box and asked, "Ren-chan, will you move in with me?"
... Huh...
The box held an access chip/card, similar to the one that she saw Atsumu use to open the house.
But hold on a minute!
She almost died, thinking he was going to propose to her.
What just happened?!
"Uh... what," she said, unable to even formulate a sentence worthy of being understood by humans.
"You had a good idea Ren-chan," said Atsumu, shrugging his shoulders and looking absolutely calm and composed with what he had just asked of her and their entire situation. "A house is a better thing to buy than a car indeed. I finalised the purchase of this house last month, and the interior designer just finished cleaning up the place last week, right after the games got over. But this house is too big for just me. So... move in with me?"
He was smiling. That unruffled bastard was smiling!
But the way how he was still so unmoved the entire ordeal, calmed her own nerves.
This would have eventually have happened wouldn't it? And our relationship was never normal to begin with...
"I will," she said as she picked up the key from the box, moving in to kiss him.
But he stopped her, gesturing her to remain in her place.
Huh?!
"And while we're at it," he moved to fish out another similar velvet box from his jacket pocket.
SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT.
No no no no no...
I just moved in god damn it! I can't marry you already!
We are different bu-
He opened to reveal a bracelet with a single charm of a dog.
... No ring?
"Can we also get a dog?"
She almost flat-lined.
"WHAT. ARE YOU SERIOUS ATSUMU?!" she almost shrieked, unable to believe what she was hearing.
"I mean, we don't have to get one today. I was thinking we could go in a few days. There is a dog shelter, and I thought we could totally adopt one," he said, shrugging his shoulders as if it was no big deal at all. "No! Wait! We can go tomorrow, my schedule's totally free, and we can shop for some of the dog food too," he added and flashed a quick smile.
This was going way too fast for her liking, but ever since she loved out of her parents' home, she had wanted to adopt a furry little heart-melting baby.
And now she would do that with Atsumu...
"That's sweet. I like the idea, but do you think we will be able to take care of it?" she asked. She had no idea how to go about this, and this was a lot of information to digest.
"Yea, with dog-walkers and dog-sitters, we can manage," he replied. Clearly he had put some thought into it. She took the bracelet from the box, and nudged him to put on her, which he gladly obliged.
Her heart swelled in happiness, and she moved in again to kiss him, but he stopped her.
AGAIN.
"WHAT NOW ATSUMU?" she shouted at him, feeling completely frustrated with him now.
"Wait, wait, I have one more thing to ask you," and he got up, to fish inside his pocket again, and flourished a suspicious-looking shimmery, round thing.
"Ren-chan, let's get married."
W.H.A.T.
"I'm serious. This is the last step, to our happy future. I planned it all in 3 stages, and this if the last stage. I googled, and that's what other websites say too. And honestly, I can't wait, and I genuinely think we should get married tomorrow, but I'd rather ask you first, just in case you wanted a dress and maybe invite a few non-trash people," he said.
This boy is unreal.
And with that, she couldn't stop laughing.
"You're insane! Atsumu, I agree those are the correct steps, but they don't happen in the same day."
"Yea I know. But I wanted to get married to you. And the other steps seemed important to precede the marriage, so I asked you about them too!"
She chuckled at his idiocy.
He's too cute...
"Fine... I'll marry you."
"Teehee... I knew it," he said, hugging her, "Now let's eat our food quickly, before it gets cold, and christen our bedroom upstairs. I took an exceptionally short shower today."
"Uhuh... yea, got it, stallion," she said, rolling her eyes at the unbelievable
"Well, since I was gonna get some this evening, I decided to save some in the daytime."
She rolled his eyes at him again, and headed towards the beautiful spread on the dining table.
"But Atsumu, we're having a long engagement."
"Wait what?! Why?! Why are we waiting?!"
"Let's be honest," she said, feeling a smile almost spill out. "You're not exactly husband material. You're a permanent boyfriend material. I don't see you becoming Mrs Ren anytime soon."
He let out an indignant gasp at that.
"I can be Mrs Ren if I wanted! I'll show you!"
"Let's just first get through dinner, and talk about other things later on."
"You're so on... I'm definitely going to convince you," he said, wiggling his brows suggestively, as they both tucked themselves into the chair for their dinner date.
A feeling a deja-vu washed over her as she recollected how this was the second time in her life, that she had the weirdest and horniest room tour ever. And again, it was with Atsumu.
They were both completely spent from their evening activities, and it was close to 11 in the night. Their dinner was over quickly, as the couple decided to spend more time relishing their dessert.
And as they were lying on their beds, with their fingers intertwined with one another and their bodies meshed with each other and their duvet, Ren's phone rang.
She picked it up, saw the caller ID and put it on speaker, gesturing Atsumu to be quiet while she took the call.
"Hello? Ren, I'm really sorry to be calling you at this time, but there's been an emergency."
"Hey, Mikasa-san. No, please don't apologise! It's completely alright. But, you sound really tense, is everything ok?"
She glanced worriedly at Atsumu, as he stared back at her phone thoughtfully, a frown gracing his eyebrows, while he started to draw circles on her collarbone.
"I'll explain on the way. Where are you right now?"
"I'm actually at Miya Atsumu's place, which is about 5 mins from the office. Shall I come over?"
"No, I'll pick you up in 20 mins."
"Oh, okay! Do you have his address?"
"Yes, I have his address. Also, please bring an ID with you."
"ID?"
"Well, we're flying to Tokyo tonight."
Tokyo?
She shared another worried glance with him.
"Oh. Okay sure. I'll pack a little bag as well. See you in 20 mins, Mikasa-san."
"See you."
*end of the line*
"Well," she sighed. "I hate to leave right now, but 'Tsumu, I gotta go. Boss called."
"Yea, it's okay. But you know, I've never met Mikasa-san in person. I've only heard about her in bits and pieces about her from Omi-omi."
She looked at him thoughtfully, thinking whether it would be wise to open up to Atsumu about Mikasa-san.
It's Atsumu... He won't let anything that goes on between us, leak out.
"Actually, she might interest you," she said, looking thoughtfully at him.
"Sweetheart," he said, rolling his eyes at her, "I'm getting to marry you. So, unless your real name in Mikasa, I can guarantee that I'm not interested in any Mikasa."
"Awww, but that's not what I meant."
"Then what did you mean?"
"Well, Kiyoomi-kun must have told you, she recently acquired some stakes in MSBY Black Jackals last year, right?" she asked, and nodded in response. "The politics of it all doesn't bother me... yet. I just wanna play the game I love before I get into the semantics of managing and sustaining it," he said.
"Ah, but now you will want to know more about her, I guarantee it. She recently confided about herself, and I was shooketh," she said, conspiratorially, as she waked over to gather her clothes and put them on, one by one.
"Oh, yea? Okay, so spill the tea. Who is this illustrious about the new owner of MSBY Black Jackals that even Omi-Omi keeps harping about?"
"Ushijima -."
"Ushiwaka?!"
"No doofus, let me finish. Her full name is Ushijima Mikasa. She's Wakatoshi-san's cousin, and an equally prominent Ushijima at that. Probably more prominent than Wakatoshi-san, actually."
"Prominent? How prominent? Why is she prominent?"
She kisses his nose and says, "Well, that's for me to know, and for you to eventually find out."
"Hey! It just got interesting! Tell me!" he whined at her retreating back.
"Hahahaha! Told ya, she'll interest you!" she chuckled at him, picking pup her bag and walking out of their now new home.
I'd have to bring over my stuff once I'm back then...
"That's not fair, you sly fox!" he howled from their room, and all she did was laugh.
"Bye 'Tsumu!"
