CHAPTER 48: The Grave Of My Cornflakes (Fandoms: None, Deadpool)

Di'gat had a family. He had a mother, a father, two brothers, a wife, and a daughter. He was fired because it was things that happened around him that broke the door, something that was still causing issues.

It wasn't his fault, his family maintained, it was the human who didn't have the decency to die. If the human had died in the desert like humans are wont to do, this never would have happened. Now Daniel, the horrible human name the missing family member was stuck with, was the subject of this year's Memento Mori day.

Fired employees don't get a funeral unlike ones that die other ways, and the only day it was deemed proper to mourn was on this day.

And so a toast was shared, a family missing a member because of a mistake.

"To Di'gat, may no one suffer your fate unjustly."

Across HQ another family was doing the same thing with a different tone. This family was much bigger, in fact it was multiple families gathered under one roof.

Gs'dnf, or Gus as he liked his human name, and his compatriots were lauded as heroes. They lost everything to do good in one universe, to save the human race from the demons.

Yet, with all the good they did, they were fired because of it. Because they broke the disguise to a universe that held beings that weren't much different than them.

To the families, the good they did was enough and on this Memento Mori day they were celebrated.

"To the heroes! May others be inspired!"

Not everyone was with someone today though. High up, in the office of a head supervisor, was Om'uns, the mother of the brothers Un'uns and An'uns. It had been one year since they were fired and the grieving mother was not any better a shape.

Alone, she sipped from a glass, staring out the window over the mass of buildings. Then, a knock at the door.

"May I come in, yodelayheehoo?"

"You may."

Tay'jak stepped into the room, bringing with them a book.

"Why are you here Tay'jak?" Om'uns asked, "You have your own family, you just adopted that one kid Ho'pey found, sorry she likes Hope doesn't she? Go be with your kids, that new one will appreciate it."

"You need it more yodelayheehoo."

They set the book on her desk and sat down in the chair across from her.

"I didn't want to do it yodelayheehoo. I liked their shenanigans yodelayheehoo," They opened the book, "I documented them yodelayheehoo."

She looked down at the book, a picture of her boys sat front and center the day they used the absolute wrong tools to make breakfast.

Only Tay'jak saw her tears.

Those weren't the only employees fired, not by a long shot.

Deadpool was thinking. Not that this was odd in any way, shape, or form, but it was what he was thinking about that the Author's wanted the readers to have insight into.

He was thinking about an instance that happened a few months ago. He had gone into a Dollar General and started a disagreement with the employee so that the employee would be transferred all because 'they drew the short straw.' Why on Earth had the Authors written it so? It's not like Deadpool didn't know what happened to the employee. The employee, Gh'djh, was an experiment. A scapegoat. The unlucky one in a million. A tool. A means to an end. Nothing.

Gh'djh was fired.

Gh'djh was fired because the Authors wanted it to happen and they used Deadpool to do it.

They used him.

And they were [REDACTED] using him now.

"Hey guys! Get your hot [REDACTED] out of your lanterns and the [REDACTED] down here! I just want to talk, you pieces of [REDACTED]!"

Deadpool did not in fact, 'just want to talk'.

"Ok, you got me there, but if you're not coming to me, I'll go to you."

There are many kinds of people in the universes. But, for sake of simplicity, there are three categories that people can rotate to make even more different kinds of people.

The first being if they believe in a god, or The God, or any god at all. Agnostic, or Atheist.

The second would be capability. Would you kill for any reason? Able to Kill, or Unable to Kill.

The third is will power. Do you fear god? Fight god, or Cower in fear.

So, you can have someone who is Atheist, able to kill and doesn't fear god, if there is one. One's like this are Darkiplier, or the Doctor.

Or perhaps and Agnostic that is unwilling to kill and fears god. This is called a Christian. You must be kind because they are trying their best. It is also other religions, and much of the world as a whole. You must be kind to these people too, they are also trying their best. (Seriously Author-san? We're Christians…(Show me one who was either A, willing to kill, and or B, unfearing of God. Besides me when you use very specific language.) Touche.)

Maybe Agnostic with the power to kill a god, yet fears it just the same. The Host falls into this category.

Unfortunately for us, Deadpool is Agnostic, is willing to kill, and doesn't fear god, and I just lost track of him.

Oops, probably shouldn't have gone on that tangent.
