-Chapter Fifty: The Future-
Rosa watched as Jake and Amy exchanged vows. She watched as they had their first dance as husband and wife. Throughout the ceremony, she was fighting off the tears. Three years, and she was still just as in love with him, as she was back at the Academy. She had dated Pimento, and although he was a good distraction, underneath it all, she was still in love with Jake.
Rosa stood to the side, as Jake and Amy danced on the stage. She watched as Boyle tapped in, and Jake walked out. And walked over to her.
"May I have this dance?" He asked. She smiled and took his hand. They danced in silence, until he spoke up.
"You know, for 16 years, every time I imagined my wedding, it was always with you" He whispered to her
"Don't do this Jake" She whispered
"Sorry" He replied as he spun her.
"Don't tell Boyle, but you are my best friend. I still haven't forgotten you. I never could" He said. She smiled
"Jake. You've just gotten married. Don't put me in this position" She said.
"I just want you to know. I'm sorry. Everything between us. If I could go back and do it again, I would. But I would do it differently" He said
"Do you have any regrets?" She asked. He stopped and looked her straight in the eye.
"Just one" He said. He opened his mouth to reply, but Amy walked over
"Jake, they're ready to cut the cake" She said. Jake smiled at Rosa once more, and walked off with his wife.
Rosa was happy for them, sure. But she was still heart-broken, she watched as the only man she had, and would ever love, kissed, and celebrated with the love of his life.
