Friday Night SmackDown was live at the Laredo Entertainment Center from Laredo, Texas. A quick recap airs of the World Heavyweight Championship Chair Match at TLC this past Sunday. Batista won at first after hitting a low blow and a chair shot but Teddy Long nixed that. Long restarted the match and Undertaker won in swift fashion.
Tony Chimel asks us to welcome SmackDown's General Manager Theodore R. Long. Long gets in the ring and says this past Sunday at TLC, the Undertaker successfully defended his World Heavyweight Championship against Batista. Since Batista was unsuccessful, tonight we will determine a new number one contender to face Undertaker for the World Heavyweight Championship.
Batista says, "Hold on," and makes his way to the stage. Batista says the number one contender is right here. Batista says Long robbed him last Sunday and he told him to make it right. This isn't his idea of making it right. Batista gets in the ring and says this is the last time he'll tell him, make it right. There's no one on the roster who'd face him for the spot anyway so this is what Long will do. He'll give him another title shot and make it right. Batista asks if he needs to get a chair. There's no need for a match, he's the number one contender.
Rey Mysterio's music hits and the master of the 619 makes his way out to the stage. Mysterio says Batista said there's no one back there but he's right here. He wants to challenge Batista. Mysterio says you don't need to be 6'5 and jacked up with muscles to be a champion. Batista thinks because he dresses fly that makes him the man. Mysterio asks if Batista thinks he's the man and Mysterio calls him a bully. There's one thing Batista never understood about him because he only saw him as the little guy. Batista never saw what was inside him, he has heart! Mysterio says his conclusion is the best way to get back at him is to make sure he never holds the World Title again. Mysterio calls for the match tonight and Batista looks like he doesn't care.
OOOOOOWHOOOOOO!
The Devil's Wolf plays to a loud pop as the lights change to the sinister, blood red and out comes the Bladewolf with Trish Stratus at his side as always now. They walk down the ramp towards the ring and Bladewolf pauses to push his hood down then take his metallic mask off to reveal the demonic wolf one underneath, He hands the metallic mask to Trish before he enters the ring and grabs a microphone.
Batista is glaring at him, having not forgotten the Spear Bladewolf gave him on RAW. Bladewolf flips his hair back as his theme dies down and he stares at Batista before speaking.
"Nobody...wants to challenge you?" Bladewolf asks before scoffing. "Those are awfully bold ones, but I can't tell if what i'm looking at is a man determined to have his soul ripped out from his chest or I'm looking at a man full of pitiful desperation. Pitiful desperation to become World Heavyweight Champion again. You say there is no one who will challenge you..." He steps closer to Batista. "Well, I'm right here. And need I remind you, I did not get my rematch for the title after my brother cost me it at Extreme Rules."
"Hold on there." Long speaks and the three men in the ring look at him. "Now I like this entire idea. So in tonight's Main Event, it will be Batista vs the Bladewolf vs Rey Mysterio in a Triple Threat match and the winner of that match will face the Undertaker for the World Heavyweight Championship next week on the Christmas Edition of Friday Night SmackDown!"
The crowd popped at this as Bladewolf and Batista stared each other down before they look at Mysterio. The three men exchange looks as SmackDown goes to commercial break...
Later
It was time for the Main Event. The Triple Threat #1 Contender's match where the winner will face the Undertaker next week on SmackDown for the World Heavyweight Championship.
In the arena, Rey Mysterio's theme hits first to cheers and out comes the Master of the 619. Mysterio does his usual entrance, hands a mask to a kid at ringside. He enters the ring and poses on the turnbuckles before he jumps down as his theme dies down.
Batista's theme hits and out comes The Animal who has determination in his eyes in becoming World Heavyweight Champion again, but to do so he needs to beat the Bladewolf and Mysterio tonight. Batista enters the ring, glaring at his former best friend who 'cost' him his World Heavyweight Championship at Bragging Rights when Mysterio broke up a pin between Batista and Undertaker, allowing the Deadman to retain his title.
Batista's theme dies down as they now wait for the brother of the Deadman.
OOOOOOWHOOOOOO!
The Devil's Wolf plays to a loud pop as the lights change to the sinister, blood red and out comes the Bladewolf with Trish Stratus at his side as always now. They walk down the ramp towards the ring and Bladewolf pauses to push his hood down then take his metallic mask off to reveal the demonic wolf one underneath, He hands the metallic mask to Trish before he takes his coat off and hands it to Trish then enters the ring and stares Mysterio and Batista down as his theme dies down.
'Ding! Ding! Ding!'
Batista goes for Bladewolf right away but Bladewolf lifts him up, runs and drives The Animal into the corner and drives his shoulder into Batista's stomach multiple times. Mysterio stays back, not wanting to get in between them and get torn apart in the process. Batista brings his forearms down on Bladewolf's back, but the Demon Wolf shoves his arms off then uppercuts the Animal before bringing his elbow into the side of his head, then he grabs Batista and tosses him out of the ring before whirling around to look at Mysterio.
Mysterio keeps well away as Bladewolf walks forward, throwing his fists up. Mysterio ducks a right and quickly hits a few lefts and rights before landing a kick to Bladewolf's right knee, then he rebounds off the ropes and leaps at Bladewolf only to be caught by the 10-time World Champion who runs and drives Mysterio into the corner. Bladewolf went to do more damage when Batista runs up and clobber shim from behind and tosses him out of the ring.
Batista turns his attention to Mysterio and bounces his face off the turnbuckle and grinds his knee on his head. Batista punches him down and slides him out of the ring but Mysterio lands on his feet. Mysterio charges into a boot and Batista goes for the Batista Bomb but Mysterio holds the top rope.
Mysterio hits a shoulder thrust and snaps the neck off the top rope. Mysterio hits a springboard dropkick, sending Batista out of the ring.
Mysterio then springboards over the top rope...AND HITS A SEATED SENTON ON BATISTA! Mysterio gets to his feet and turns around into a clothesline from Bladewolf. Bladewolf grabs Mysterio and sends him into the barricade. Bladewolf grabs Batista and tosses him back into the ring, sliding in after him.
Bladewolf grabs Batista from behind and hits a German Suplex. He holds onto Batista as he hits another, then another, then another, then another, then another, then another, then another, then another, then another, then another, then another, then another, then another, then another, then another, then another, then another, then another, then another, then another, then another, then another, then another, then another, then another, then another, then another and then another. He holds on more more time and finishes witha release German Suplex across the ring.
Bladewolf looking dominant here as SmackDown goes to commercial break.
*After the commercial break*
SmackDown comes back from the break to show Bladewolf stomping on Mysterio in the corner, Batista out of the ring and on the floor. Bladewolf keeps the assault on Mysterio up before he stops, grabs Mysterio by the throat and pulls him to his feet before he drives Mysterio into the corner and goes for a hard right but Mysterio ducks and unloads with lefts and rights as best as he can before backing off when Bladewolf went for a boot.
Mysterio backs off when he was suddenly clobbered from behind by Batista who then runs...AND SPEARS BLADEWOLF! Getting payback for Monday Night when Bladewolf speared Batista. Batista turns his attention to Mysterio and clubs his back.
Batista whips Mysterio hard into the corner and Mysterio face plants. Mysterio rolls out of the ring and Batista follows. Batista scoops him up and slams his back into the steel ring post. Batista sends him into the ring and follows. Mysterio comes back with punches and goes for a cross-body block but Batista holds him and hits a backbreaker. Batista stretches him over his knee. Mysterio punches out but runs into a big boot for a near fall.
Mysterio is in the corner so Batista charges but Mysterio moves. Mysterio tries to roll him up but Batista stomps him and chokes him with his foot. Batista then puts his neck on the bottom rope and chokes Mysterio again. Batista hits some punches and sends him into the ropes.
Batista lowers his head and eats a kick. Mysterio goes into the ropes and gets taken out by a huge clothesline for a near fall. Batista hits a huge body slam, picks him up, and repeats the move.
Batista does it a third time and goes to the second rope. Mysterio quickly fights back while Batista is on the second rope and goes for a top rope hurricanrana but Batista holds on to the ropes. Batista jumps off and eats a dropkick!
Both men are down as the fans cheer. Mysterio begins kicking away but Batista hits a knee. Batista sends him into the ropes but Mysterio holds on and back elbows him. Mysterio boots him and hits a springboard seated senton. Mysterio...THEN HITS A WHEELBARROW BULLDOG! HE HOOKS THE LEGS !ONE! TWO! THRE-! BATISTA KICKS OUT AT TWO!
Batista looks dazed as Mysterio dropkicks him in the face. Mysterio hits a springboard leg drop for a near fall. Batista blocks a kick and sends Mysterio into the corner. Batista goes for a powerslam but Mysterio counters...AND HITS A DDT! HE HOOKS THE LEG! ONE! TWO! THRE-! BLADEWOLF BREAKS IT UP!
Bladewolf grabs Mysterio and send shim into the corner, then picks Batista up and send shim into the opposite corner. Bladewolf runs back and fourth, hitting the two with turnbuckle clotheslines before he runs and boots a stumbling Batista in the face, then turns around...AND GRABS MYSTERIO BY THE THROAT! Bladewolf lifts Mysterio up...AND HITS A CHOKESL-! MYSTERIO GOT OUT OF THE HOLD!
Batista bashes Bladewolf aside then runs at Mysterio, but gets tripped up...AND FALLS ON THE ROPES! Mysterio rebounds off the runs, dials it up...AND HITS THE 619! Batista stood and stumbled back. Mysterio springboards...AND HITS THE SEATED SEN-! BATISTA CAUGHT HIM! Batista...HITS THE BATISTA BOMB! Batista gets to his feet and lets out a roar before he was turned around, lifted up...AND HIT WITH THE FURY OF THE WOLF! Bladewolf covers Mysterio! ONE! TWO! THREE! BLADEWOLF WINS!
'Ding! Ding! Ding!'
The Devil's Wolf plays as Bladewolf rolls out the ring and starts heading up the ramp with Trish. Next week, it will be the Bladewolf vs the undertaker for the World Heavyweight Championship! Fans could not wait to see that epic match...
