Hi to all of you dear readers, if you are still here I imagine you must be really devoted, I'm quite thankful for that.

Now this will be the epilogue of this story, but before that I would like to address the giant elephant in the room; what happened to this story after my one year pause? Why did all go down so badly after that?

There are two main reasons for that. First, this is a story that helped me grow a lot as a writer, I really cringe if I go back to the earliest chapters, they are so bad… the second main reason is the evolution of the show itself; I first designed all my story to be adapted to the presence of maidens and relics, the reveal of the Gods (a really badly done asspull if you ask me) threw all my plans down a river, into a dumpster of shit.

With this I am not trying to put all the blame on the show itself, it is more like I totally lost interest in the show and my writing got worse and worse as my interest went down. There were still good things though, I still think that Gluttony vs Dusk was really cool and would love to see an animation of that (maybe it lacks some details here and there but the skeleton is solid).

Now, a lot of people may have asked themselves why I did kill Ulbert in the end. The primary reason of that was out of spite toward what the show has become; an amass of plot holes created by the latest volumes. The message I wanted to send by killing Ulbert is that they killed any interest in the plot with all those asspulls they did. Adding random OP characters without a reason. Stopping any kind of development of the main characters while continuing to add more and more bland ones. Making what was a secret war for magical powers into a damn world war… RWBY has always been a chill product with 3D girls fighting monsters, no life messages, no overcomplicated plots, just a chill show to have fun with; they took that away and destroyed any kind of interest I had in it with that move.

After I came to despise what the show became, I just couldn't accept to continue writing my story like nothing had happened, and you all saw the result.

I myself admit that this story started with good ideas that were poorly executed, this stuff is probably a bit under an average tier as a fanfic but I'm still grateful for helping me develop as a writer.

If you are still here, I want you to know that I'm really grateful, if I were you, I would have dropped this half way through. If you are asking yourself why it took so much for this to come out, it is because I needed some time to put what I felt into words.

Now passing on Ulbert, he was supposed to be a human with various traumas and mental disorders, on top of being a misanthrope. This should have been the tale of him coming to terms with his paranoias and affection problems. Of course, my skill in writing wasn't good enough to put it into words and making people understand that. I'm really sorry about that since it would have been a really cool thing if done correctly. I tried many times to address this, as you can see, I continuously used various family relationships to try to expand this concept (Mizumi/Ulbert; Gluttony/Dusk; Evil lords/Demiurge). The Evil lords themselves should have been the representation of Ulbert's worst instincts as a misanthrope and mentally scarred person.

Now that I took out everything I had on my mind, I finally present you the epilogue to my first completed story on this website.

PS. I will use one last time my old way, - normal speech "" thoughts.

Epilogue: The man who lived two lives

The man, who was known as Ulbert Alain Odle for the last year and a half, opened his eyes only to be welcomed by whiteness. He felt numb, like really numb, he felt like he couldn't move a single muscle.

The whiteness was almost blinding now that his eyes were adjusting to his new environment "am I dead?" he asked himself. He tried once more to move but the only thing he managed to do was just turn his head lightly to his right.

In that moment his gaze fell on something, or someone to be more specific. A human woman with a white outfit, he couldn't speak so he continued to stare at her even if his vision was slightly blurred. Soon enough the woman's gaze locked with his, a moment of silence passed before she began to scream something he couldn't understand.

Fantastic; now his head felt like it was about to burst open, he passed out soon enough from the pain.

It has been two days since the man formerly known as Ulbert Alain Odle came back from the dead, or what was also called a coma from the doctors. He knew the body he was in well, it was his body as a human after all, the one he used since his birth in this rotten world.

Now he stared in front of him blankly, no emotion visible on his face, the only eye he had left was completely devoid of life.

The doctors said that the train managed to crush almost half of his face, and now he was forced to wear a mask to hide the horrendous monstrosity that was the right side of his face "how fitting… almost ironic…" he said to himself.

The doctors said he would be stuck here for at least one more month, not like he cared, he had nothing to return to.

He clenched his fists, he refused to believe it, all of that… all those emotions… all those events… couldn't have just been a dream… no it has been real; he was sure of it. No matter what other people said, he was sure it has all been real.

He wanted to shape the world in his image, he wanted to crush the pitiful humanity under his foot… and in the end what did this bring him? Pain and suffering, he could have chosen another route, a route of simplicity and peace. But he didn't, it has all been his fault, his children, Mizumi… they all suffered because of him.

A single tear fell from his remaining eye "all of you… please forgive me…" he pleaded internally.

-Ulbert-san.-

He was surprised when someone called him by that name, but there was only one person who would do so, he turned to see a man around his 50es, he wore an officer uniform, he had blue eyes and greying hair. This was the man who saved him from his suicide attempt, he was the reason why he wasn't a blood mark on the train rails right now.

This man lied to the higher ups, he said that Ulbert simply lost balance because of the pushing crowd around him, if his suicide attempt was discovered Ulbert would have to pay an enormous amount for the trouble he caused to public transport after all.

This man made sure to visit him while he was comatose in the hospital, he made sure to continue to pay Ulbert's apartment rent while he was here almost dead. He knew this man well.

-Touch-san…-

The ex-demon greeted the man next to him.

-After six months of coma I was beginning to lose hope, I thought you would never wake up.-

He said, Ulbert nodded "it's not like I wanted to wake up" He thought.

-Tell me, why did you do it?-

The player previously known as Touch Me asked.

-You want the truth Touch-san?... I was tired, so tired of this accursed world, this rotten society that feeds on the less fortunate, the loneliness that tormented my existence since my sister's death. What even was the purpose of living anymore? Why should I work myself to death to feed this decaying society?-

He asked to no one in particular; no one spoke for a few minutes.

-You know, I may be a little too optimistic sometimes… but I am well aware that the world can't get rid of evil, no one can do it, no matter how powerful you are, you can't change the nature of people. I became a police officer so that I could eliminate the lesser evil while hoping that my actions would inspire more to do the same. After so many years, I myself realize that it was a foolish fantasy. But there is still hope in this world. You must just find yours; mine is my family, my children. Sometimes you just have to create your own happiness.-

Said the police officer. The image of a little fox faunus crossed Ulbert's mind "something to live for eh?... I had it, and I lost it twice by now…" he thought.

-I know we never got along in the game; but that was just that, a game, this is the real life, let me help you. I can get you a job in my police station, nothing glorious, just something to live with. From there you will start your new life."

The ex-paladin continued offering his hand to the ex-demon.

-What do you say?-

He asked. Ulbert watched his offered hand "can I really do it? Can I really try again? I already lived two lives, in the end they brought nothing but pain to me… but still what else can I do?" he thought "Mizumi, sister… you are both gone, but I know that you would want me to take that hand anyway… that was just the type of person you were. So be it then!" he finally came to his decision and took his guildmate's hand.

-Thank you… Touch-san.-

He said warmly, the man smiled at him.

"Maybe this will be the right one? Who knows? But I must continue to try… I want to reach it… that happiness I always desired" those were the final thought of Ulbert Alain Odle before he left behind his second life and entered his third. Who knows, maybe third time will be the charm.

{New World}

{Great Underground Tomb of Nazarick}

In the throne room of the Great Underground Tomb of Nazarick an audience between the Sorcerer King and a mysterious demon was taking place.

The demon was a being around level 80, the strongest being they met in this world apart from the unknown party who attacked Shalltear. Said demon had the appearance of a young woman with pale skin and long night black hair, she was bowing before the throne.

On the throne sat the Sorcerer King, an undead with the appearance of a skeleton, he gestured for the demon to rise.

-The Supreme Being is allowing you to stand, be thankful.-

Said Albedo in a cold tone, the female demon stood up.

-I must admit, I was surprised to hear someone could discover the location of this place. I was even more surprised to hear that that someone claimed to know me alongside one of my old friends.-

The Sorcerer King said in an emotionless but intimidating tone.

-Forgive my distrust of you but I already had experienced the situation in which someone tried to gain something from me by claiming to know one of my friends, and then all turned out to be a lie. Needless to say, it didn't end well for that party. But I digress; please allow me to welcome you to Nazarick, state why you are seeking an audience with me.-

Continued the skeleton, the demon nodded as a flash of excitement passed through her eyes.

-I thank you for granting me this audience Supreme Being of Death Momonga-sama, or is it Ainz Ooal Gown-sama now?-

Asked the demon, many in the room tensed at the use of the skeleton's original name. The skeleton himself seemed intrigued by it.

-Who are you?-

He asked.

-My name is Amber Lightfall my Lord, I am the chosen Apostle of the Supreme Being of Calamity Ulbert Alain Odle-sama.-

Her words caused the beings in the room to grow tense. No one seemed to expect that, many of the beings in the room now had their full attention on the female demon known as Amber.

-You know that name, it is a very hard information to gain outside of Nazarick, forgive again my distrust but could you describe him to me?-

The King asked, the red dots in his eyes sockets now shined with somethings resembling desire.

-Of course my Lord, Ulbert-sama has the appearance of a bipedal humanoid goat with greyish fur, his fingers are razor sharp claws, he has elegant horns adoring his head and he always carry a golden mask hiding his face's right side.-

Amber explained, Ainz clapped his hands together.

-Wonderful! Wonderful! I believe you! I knew some of my friends were still around! What a joyous day this is! Come on, do not waste anymore time, bring me to him!-

The skeleton said in excitement, many inhabitants of the Tomb seemed surprised by that positive outburst.

-My Lord… Lord Ulbert… has disappeared a long time ago.-

Said Amber, all joy seemed to disappear from the Skeleton as his gaze focussed on the demon once more.

-What do you mean? Explain yourself!-

He commanded, his tone now very firm and hard.

-Yes my Lord; Ulbert-sama came to this world many thousands of years ago, he conquered the whole world bringing humanity to the brink of extinction. During the last phase of the war, him and his vassals clashed with the beings known as the God of Light and the God of Darkness, the battle resulted in both gods' demise but from that day I never saw my Lord ever again. If it wasn't for the fact that I still can feel my Lord's blessing on me I would say he was dead too.-

She explained, her tone sad. Silence descended in the throne room for some minutes before the Undead spoke again.

-I see… what happened after that?-

He asked.

-After my Lord's disappearance I continued to lead the Faunus, a race that does no longer exist; they are the progenitors of many demi-human races like the beastmen. I still tried to complete my Lord's last order, wipe out all of humanity, but something happened before I could do so. As I said before the gods died, but they weren't completely gone, their power was still there. And it was only a matter of time before that power would become aware of its own existence. From what remained of the two gods a new being was born; he was called the Dragon Emperor, progenitor of the current Dragon Lords.-

She said, a flash of realization passed through Albedo's eyes.

-The might of the Dragon Emperor forced us to retreat and hide as he took control over the planet populating it with various races never seen before. So we waited and waited until one day the Dragon Emperor fell but at the same time other beings came, not as powerful as the Dragon Emperor but still stronger than me, we awaited many centuries hoping for our Lord's return and then I received news of the rise of the Sorcerer King Ainz Ooal Gown, a name I knew well.-

Amber concluded her story. Silence returned to the room as everyone elaborated the new information.

-Very well then, Amber Lightfall, considering all you said, I would like you to join me and the Sorcerous Kingdom. Together I promise you, we will find Ulbert.-

The Sorcerer King proclaimed.
