I'm not sure if this is Murray Gold, but I really like the Dalek them when the Ninth Doctor discovered them on that satellite. You know, with the Latin chant.
The Doctor would no doubt stay behind and defend Mantle. Just look up 12th's speech to the Master and Missy. Enough said.
About Ironwood...I don't know. He would no doubt outsmart the shot out of Salem in some way, but I don't know about Ironwood. I could see the Doctor give him a chance, but if Ironwood shoots the Doctor, yeah he's done. Ironwood will somehow get outsmarted and lose everything. I have faith in the Doctor's abilities.
