We made camp in the woods. I perched on one of the mushrooms besides Crosshair. A couple of creatures growled in the surrounding forest. The occasional groan from Cody could be heard
"So I get what makes the other butchers unique. But what's so special about Hunter?" I heard Jesse ask
"He can put up with the other three" Kix joked.
"He wa engineered with heightened senses. A place like the cyber center, Hunter can feel the electromagnetic frequencies from anywhere on the planet." Tech said
"And here I thought we were smart just using a holomap." Jesse said
"You aren't smart in general." Victory rolled her eyes
" maps can be wrong Hunter never is" Tech said.
Cody groaned I looked over at him and Rex.
"Listen up. We have to move out." Rex barked
" Commander Codys in no position to move." Crosshair said stepping down from the mushroom.
"Already called in Evac. Kix will stay with Cody until it arrives. I'm in charge now." I sent him a look and hopped down from the mushroom."And I've got a plan to get into that cyber center."
"If your plans are so good, why did commander Cody have to call us in?" Crosshair said
"You can't talk to Captain Rex like that!" Jesse growled.
"Says who?" Wrecker shouted I sidestepped to avoid getting run over he grabbed Jesse by his throat
"Put him down" Kix shouted.
"Stay out of it."Crosshair. Said shoving Kix
"Hey watch it" Victory growled.
"Uh guys, come on." Tech said I tried to get Wrecker to let Jesse go.
"Wrecker drop him. Now." Hunter barked
"Aww." He slammed Jesse down who knocked me on my ass.
"Fellas, come on! We're all fighting for the same thing, Right? Alright then let's cut the chatter and finish what we started." Hunter said ." Well do it your way Captain. For Commander Cody." Jesse stood slightly hunched a hand around his ribs. I shot him a concerned look and he shrugged me off. Crosshair pulled me to my feet
"Okay let's gear up and move out." Rex said.
We trekked through the forest.
" not our primary target. It's an outpost. Should we take it?" Hunter asked
"Probably easier than going around." I said
"Alright what are your orders? We pick them off from the tree line one-by-one"He said
" Actually I was thinking we'd take a page from your book. Rush them head on" Rex said
" I like your style." Hunter chuckled. We rushed the droids
"Clones" one screamed before I put a blaster bolt in its face. We took the lift up.
"Hey your not authorized." Rex shot the droid who spoke. We destroyed them one by one
"Is it over already?Aw, man!" Wrecker exclaimed.
"Not bad. For a reg." Hunter poked fun.
" all right there it is the cyber center." Rex said
"It looks Ike the cyber center itself has minimal gaurds about 30 droids. Op wait. Wait! I got a massive signal coming in. A whole platoon of droids is headed this way." Tech said
"Someone's noticed our handiwork back at the crash site." Hunter said.
"Yeah. Make sure you keep an eye on those incoming Seperatist forces. I want to know when they reach this outpost." Rex said
"You got it cap." Tech replied
"We've gotta move swiftly." I said
"We'll grab some speeder bikes and flank them from the back." Hunter said
We moved out Crosshair and I we're situated on a ridge.
"Is everyone in position?" Rexs voice echoed through the comms.
"Affirmative," Crosshair replied.
"Cap you wanted to know when those Seperatist forces breached the outpost. Well they're getting there just about now." Tech said.
"Bet I can get more droids then you" I mocked Crosshair.
"Bet" he sassed. I fired at the droids keeping a count. We fired at the incoming droids. I aimed at the tank.
"Crosshair we're gonna need a lift." Hunter said.
"Not gonna be a problem. He replied we crept to the transport whipping out the droids. We took of to the cyber center.
We landed behind them before taking off. We retreated back to the base.
"How many droids" I chuckled
"23" crosshair replied
"Your a little slow vod 26" I smirked.
"Shove it " he chuckled.
