Ch52
Magnus knew something was wrong with his cousin. For the past two nights he had seen dreams of her being tortured by Kronos/Luke and the ass whole with the green hair. Every time he woke up he had the desire to beat the green haired girl for hurting his cousin and he wanted to help bring down Kronos more than ever. Luckily for him today he was leaving to New York. He got up and quickly got dressed and ready for the morning. Sigurd had trained him hard and he could use a few runes and had a few ideas on how to fight Fafnir.
"Are you ready son?" Frey asked as he came in.
He nodded, "Yeah dad I am."
Frey smiled at him, "Great, I'll drop you off with your friends."
"But I thought you couldn't go near Manhattan or interfere with the Greek world?" He asked
Frey chuckled, "True, but a father has a right to defend his son and his realm. Besides I will just be dropping you off," he said with a wink.
"Thanks dad," he said. Frey nodded at him as they exited his house. Outside was his father's chariot pulled by golden bristled boar Gullinbursti and his father's servant Skirnir was in the seat. He waved at Skirnir who bowed at him and greeted him. Skirnir was dressed in elven armor and had a bow and arrow with him.
"Oh Magnus take these," Frey said as he handed him a box, a vial, and a bracelet with some runes on it. "Use the vial to collect Fafnir's blood and the box to collect his heart. Remember your friend the son of Poseidon cannot be submerged in the blood," he said seriously.
"I know dad thanks for telling me," he said.
His father smiled at him, "This bracelet is some armor we made for your friend. It should prevent the blood from touching him."
"Thanks dad," he said as he put the stuff into his bag.
Frey smiled and sighed, "You remind me so much of your mother. She would be proud of the choices you made. Now lets go help your friends, also remember to use the horn I gave you if you need any help," he said with a wink.
He nodded, "I will thanks dad." He still had that old horn his dad gave him for his birthday, he said to use it in case of emergencies and that if he did the forces of Alfheim will help him. We will need all the help we can get. He knew his dad had been kind in his descriptions of the battlefield of Manhattan but he still saw the dreams and knew that his friends were barely holding on.
"Good then lets go," Frey said as they both got into the chariot. "We will have to pick up some people first though." He nodded as his father gave a command and the chariot soon sped off.
There was a bright light and the next thing he knew they were riding through the streets of Brooklyn. The chariot was fast and before he knew it they were in front of a group of people he recognized.
Gunilla, TJ, Mallory, and Blitz were standing weapons drawn at a large Titan and an army of monsters behind him. Magnus felt his eyes widen as he recognized that the Titan was holding Hearthstone who looked like he had been beaten badly.
"What do we have here," his father said as all eyes turned to him.
Gunilla and the others bowed, "Lord Frey we were told to evacuate but these Greek monsters attack us. We explained that we were neutral but he accused the elf Hearthstone of working for the Greeks and attack us."
"Oh really now?" His father said as he stepped out of the chariot. Magnus had never seen his father this upset before. In a flash he was in his combat armor holding a deer antler. "What purpose do you have for harming my subject titan?"
The titan chuckled, "Allow me to introduce myself Norse. I am Prometheus and this elf was got in Manhattan, I am afraid since he can't give me a good answer I must eliminate him."
"I am afraid I cannot allow that," Frey said as he stepped forward. "As ruler of Alfheim elves are under my protection. I must insist that you drop him less you face the consequences."
Prometheus looked at his father and back at him, "I am afraid that I am told to take out any spies and your son in the chariot there if he shows up. Asgard wouldn't want a war after all? You would be breaking ancient laws for interfering."
Magnus gulped as Skirnir stepped in front of him with his bow drawn. His father just stared at the titan, "Oh really? Also, under ancient laws a ruler protects his subjects and a father protects his son. You have harmed my subject who you have in your hands and have threatened subjects of Asgard, by all means I have every right to protect my realm and subjects."
Prometheus looked uneasy and he carefully set Hearthstone down, "I doubt Asgard would go to war over a little misunderstanding, just hand your son over and all will be done."
"I am afraid I cannot do that. As his father I must make sure he is safe," his father said as he turned around. "All of you cover your eyes this will get ugly."
Magnus didn't understand what he meant but he did it anyway. He felt a powerful energy ripple through the area along with a warm heat. When he felt the presence disappear he opened his eyes carefully and saw that Prometheus along with his army were gone. His father stood in front of them, his deer antler bloodied. I forget that although my dad is easy going he is still a god.
He watched as his father cast a healing charm on Hearthstone who got up and thanked his father though he could tell that he looked uncomfortable being with him. He got out of the chariot and greeted everyone. "Dad that was cool," he said, not sure what else to say.
His father smiled, "Don't worry son it was the least I can do for someone who hurt my subjects."
"Lord Frey that was amazing but what will Asgard say?" Gunilla said in a worried tone.
Frey sighed, "Well it was self defense since he tried to engage you guys and hurt my subject but I doubt I should push my luck. Will you guys go back to Valhalla?"
Gunilla nodded, "Yes, we were ordered to return."
"We can stay and help Magnus still," Blitz said.
Frey nodded, "Fine, I will allow you and Hearthstone to stay with him." His father then turned to face him, "Are you ready Magnus?"
"Yeah I am dad," he said.
He was about to say good bye when he heard footsteps running towards him, "Magnus wait!"
He turned around and to his surprise, he saw Rachel Dare running towards him. "Rachel what are you doing here? How long were you watching?"
Rachel took a few deep breaths, "Oh I saw all of it and closed my eyes don't worry. Listen I need to go to Percy its important," she said with a determined look.
He sighed, "Fine you can come but we are leaving now."
Frey nodded and hugged him, "Good luck son. I'll leave Skirnir and the chariot with you, I doubt I should push my luck by showing myself to your friends."
"I understand dad. What will you do now?" He asked.
Frey smiled at him, "Oh I don't know I may make sure all the sites associated with me are free from these Titans. Don't worry I still have my ship," he said patting his pocket.
"Alright then be careful though," he said. He said goodbye to everyone before he, Hearthstone, Blitz, and Rachel entered the chariot.
"Hold on tight," Skirnir said as the chariot soon took off.
"How are you guys doing?" He signed to Hearth and Blitz.
Hearth nodded, "I am well thanks to your father. More importantly your cousin has been kidnapped."
He sighed, "I know," he signed.
He then turned to Rachel, "What do you need to tell Percy?"
Rachel looked uneasy, "It is kind of personal but its important."
He only nodded as the chariot ripped through the city. The chariot kind of jumped or flew over a bridge, he saw some demigods on it but couldn't recognize them though he heard them sound some sort of alarm. Hearthstone told them where the main encampment was and before long they reached the main camp tent of the demigod army.
The chariot came to a stop and before long Percy and the other demigod counselors got out of the tent. "Hey Percy long time no see," he said waving at his friend.
Percy smiled at him as he and Rachel got out. Percy ran and gave him a big hug, "Thank Gods you are here Magnus Annabeth is gone I'm sorry," he said with sorrow.
"Its alright man we will get her back," he said as he smiled into Percy's green eyes. "Oh I brought Rachel and some help," he said pointing to the chariot Skirnir, Hearth, and Blitz all bowed as Rachel came up to him.
"Percy we need to talk when you can," She said.
"I understand lets all go somewhere private," Percy said.
"HOLD IT!" Clarisse yelled as she grabbed her spear. She took a step in front of him and pointed it at him glaring at him. Now he was used to her glares but this one was different; it was full of pure hatred for him.
"Clarisse what's wrong," He said calmly as he signaled to Skirnir and the others to not interfere.
"Clarisse stop he isn't the spy," Percy said as he got in between them.
"Yeah why would he spy on us," Will Solace said
Silena broke down and that enraged Clarisse more. "You all are blind. He is the spy!"
His eyes widened, spy? She thinks I'm the spy? He was going to answer but noticed that her cabin was behind her with their weapons drawn. I have to play this smoothly and carefully.
"Stop this madness," said a familiar voice. He turned to see Zoe and Thalia walk up. "Magnus isn't a spy Clarisse. I've known him for a while, he hates Luke and would never kidnap or hurt Annabeth," Thalia said.
"Yeah he would never kidnap her or anything," Malcolm said.
Clarisse never took her eyes off of him. They glared at him with anger, "You are all blind. It is obvious what he is doing. He most likely has her locked up in a safe place for Kronos and came back here to spy some more." He noticed Silena look conflicted as if she were close to breaking down.
"Beckendorf," Clarisse said through her gritted teeth. "He was all of our friend and he and countless others are dead because of you," she said as she glared at him angrily. Silena broke down in tears. "Look at what you made her suffer through," Clarisse said coldly as she pointed at Silena.
"Clarisse this is enough you don't even have proof that he is a spy," Percy said.
"Percy Jackson is right. What evidence doth thee have?" Zoe asked.
For a moment Clarisse looked surprised by the question but her resolve came back. "Take off your shirt," she said pointing at him with her spear. "Kronos's spy is communicating with a scythe necklace."
He sighed and took off his shirt. He heard some of the Aphrodite girls and other females giggle while he noticed Percy and Will blush and Zoe and Thalia rolled their eyes completely unaffected. The thing is his father gave him potions that helped develop muscle so he kind of had a leaned toned physique. "There are you happy? This is a necklace I own," he said as he held out his necklace for all to see.
"How do I know that the necklace isn't hiding it. Break it now or else," Clarisse demanded.
Well I can't to that. "Sorry but its kind of a family heirloom," he said He then did a quick prayer to his father and forced himself to think calm thoughts. "Listen Clarisse and everyone," he said as he felt the calmness reverberate throughout the area. "I know you mean well Clarisse but I am not the spy. I don't know who is the spy but I am sure they have their reasons. If they come forward then and confess now I am sure we will all forgive that person." He noticed a lot of people were nodding though Silena remained calm, their eyes met and an idea came to him. "Silena do you have anything to say?"
"How dare you speak to her!" Clarisse yelled as she gripped her spear and was about to lunge at him when Silena came up.
"WAIT!" She yelled with a pained look on her face. Everyone turned to her as she slowly took out a necklace with a scythe on it, everyone remained silent at the sight of the necklace. "He isn't the spy I am," she said in a soft tone. Her face was calm but he could tell that she was close to tears.
"Luke, he made do it. He said I would be saving lives," she said as tears fell down her cheeks. "He promised no one would get hurt and that he would spare Charlie but he didn't'," she said as she broke down.
Everyone stared at her in shock and disbelief. For a while no one said anything until Clarisse dropped her spear and went over to give her a hug. "Its ok Silena I am here," she said as she glared at everyone as if daring to say the word traitor. "You don't have to do it anymore we won't judge you, right?" She asked glaring at everyone.
Percy cleared his throat, "Yeah, we will forgive you if you help us out from now on." Percy looked at everyone and they all slowly nodded and offered their support. Silena only nodded who gave the necklace to Clarisse who threw it to the ground and smashed it with her spear.
"Kronos will pay for this!" She roared. Her siblings roared in support.
The two his surprise Clarisse when up to him and extended a hand. "Sorry for accusing you Chase."
He put his shirt back on and shook the hand, "No problem now lets do this."
"Oh who are your friends?" Connor Stoll asked as he pointed to the chariot.
"Oh um they are friends of my dad. Its complicated but I can't say too much sorry," he said.
"Alright everyone lets go I have things to talk about with Magnus and Rachel then we will have a meeting," Percy said as everyone nodded. Clarisse wen to comfort Silnea and the other campers went to do their things. Thalia and Zoe waited outside the tent as he followed Rachel into the tent along with Hearthstone, Blitz, and Skirnir.
When they got into the tent they all had things to talk about. Rachel talked about the dreams she was having and that Percy technically isn't the hero of the story. Percy talked about how they are about to be overwhelmed and that Annabeth had been kidnapped a few days ago but they are spreading their resources thin now as they wait for the Olympians to get back. He also talked about how he sat on his dad's throne and convinced him to help Olympus.
He also talked about his time with his father and how he learned a few runes and how to fight Fafnir. "Here is Balmung," he said as he handed Percy the necklace.
Percy took the necklace and activated it and reacted in surprise as it transformed into a long sword. "Wow this is cool dude."
"It comes with armor too," he said as he handed Percy the bracelet. Percy activated the bracelet and was suddenly in plated armor.
"Wow this is cool," Percy said as he walked around in it and swung Balmung around. "He talks too!"
"Indeed he does," Skirnir said. "That sword was reforged to help take out Fafnir. The dragon is not something to be taken lightly.
"I know," Percy said with a sigh as he deactivated the sword and armor. "But I feel he will be coming soon."
Skirnir then turned to face him, "If you need more fighters just use the horn your father gave you. It should help you gain some help in these tough times."
"I will thanks. But what does it do exactly?" He asked.
Skirnir sighed, "The horn your father gave you is infused with his power. It can disarm an entire army and it will open the gates of Alfheim to assist you."
"Sounds cool. I'll see when I can use it," he said as he thanked the elf.
"Ok then I say we call a meeting with everyone else," Percy said.
He and Rachel nodded as they called everyone in. He sat next to Thalia and Zoe who he thanked for standing up for him. Everyone was eying him and his other friends who sat behind him curiously but overall the mood was good despite the fact that they were in a war.
"Alright everyone thank you for coming we have some things that we need to discuss," Percy said.
"Yeah but we want to know what exactly did Magnus get and are his friends elves and a dwarf?" Connor Stoll asked.
He cleared his throat, "Yes, yes they are. But that's not the point, the point is that we will soon have a big dam problem," he heard Percy and Thalia chuckle at their inside joke.
"Yeah we will soon have to fight a big dam dragon," Percy said, he had to snicker at that.
"A dragon are you serious?" Will Solace asked.
Percy nodded, "Yeah but don't worry Magnus helped me get a weapon that can kill it." Percy then activated Balmung."
Everyone stared in awe at the sword. "That doesn't look like a Greek sword," Clarisse said as she looked at the sword.
"Its like a knight sword," Connor said as he looked at it. "Are you guys going to LARP or something?"
Percy gripped the blade and a blue aura lightly appeared around it, "No we will slay the dragon that is helping Kronos."
There were nods as people stared at the sword in wonder. However, their meeting was interrupted by the sound of a roar that sent chills down his and everyone's spine. It was the sound of a large dragon.
"Everyone get to your positions now," Percy yelled and everyone began to scramble.
