No, no body, no crime
But I ain't letting up until the day I die
Edward
As the fire died out, Isa dismissed the room with a wave her hand, leaving just the five of us.
"Wanna explain that, princess?" Marcus asked with a hint of amusement.
Isa shrugged prettily and batted her eyelashes at him. "You don't have to like me, in fact, I rather you didn't. However, I draw the line at plotting to have me murdered after I let it slide the first time and I'm still busting my ass to save yours."
He tipped his head in acceptance with a small chuckle. "Fair enough. I suppose I should go make sure the wives aren't plotting your demise."
Isabella
"You're a saint, Marcus." I beamed at him as he waved and made his way out of the throne room.
I jumped slightly as Edward slid his arms around my waist and buried his face in my neck.
"Plans for the rest of the night?" Major asked as Ang wrapped herself around him.
We were still no closer to figuring out the exact reason behind our mating bond but it was working fine so we felt no need to question it any further.
"You both need to hunt and we need to figure out why Rosalie is sending spies to the castle." Ang answered.
"I'm sorry, what?" the Major asked.
"Oops." Ang shrugged as I glared at her.
"Unfortunately, that was supposed to hold until you went hunting." I started softly. "However, yes. I'm pretty sure I know who they are and after tonight, we shouldn't have anything to worry about."
"Why is that?" Edward asked against my skin.
I lightly traced my fingers over his hands on my stomach as I answered.
"Who would you be more afraid of? Rosalie and Alice or the human who removed and burned the hands of not one but two vampire kings?"
I smiled softly as they both chuckled.
"No, Angela." Edward said with a smile. "We'll go hunting tomorrow night. Tonight, we want to spend with you two."
"It's been a while." Major continued. "We can wait one more night to hunt." He finished as he tightened his hold on her.
I shifted in Edward's hold and let him lift me to follow the Major out of the throne room.
As we made our way to our shared room, Ang and I discussed the potential next story time and the boys silently planned their hunting trip.
Edward
We're going hunting in the morning.
I sent my agreement in response to the Major's thoughts. Together, we rested the girls on the bed and sat on either side of them.
They talked quietly until they fell asleep, leaving Major and I to discuss potential strategies.
I ran my fingers through Isabella's hair as the sun rose and shined over the girls.
They really are the prettiest girls in the world.
I sent my agreement to the Major and watched him run his own fingers through Angela's hair as they fully woke up.
"Good morning." They mumbled together.
"Good morning girls."
After a quiet cuddle, they pulled away from us and made their way to the bathroom.
Thirty minutes later, they made their way over to us.
"We're going hunting when you guys are finished eating." I announced as we headed to the kitchen.
"Good morning girls."
Both girls beamed and bounced happily over to Marcus, kissing each cheek in greeting.
Marcus
"Good morning, Marcus."
I smiled at the stereo response from my favorite humans and waved as their mates said their goodbyes.
I sat at the table and watch them work in tandem to prepare breakfast. Watching them together was a pleasure.
"Oh, Marcus, did you learn anything from the wives last night?" Isa asked as she leaned next to the stove.
I shook my head. "No, princess, it seems their husbands were working by themselves." I answered.
She shared a look with Angela and I hid a smile. I had a feeling, quite a strong one, that they would be doing their own investigation and if they found anything, the wives would be an example for anyone else that wanted to harm Isabella.
What really blew my mind is the fact that even after seeing her weed out other spies and thwart more than one murder plot, vampires, in the castle and out, still insisted on conspiring to kill her. She was well within her rights to handle Aro and Caius with far less respect than she had been and yet she insists on keeping them alive.
"They're important, Marcus. They are not allowed to die."
Edward's voice echoed down the hall as he and the Major made their way into the kitchen. Both girls smiled at them and raced to meet them.
"And why is that?" I questioned.
"Because I said so." Isa giggled as the Major buried his face in her neck.
"Of course, princess. I'm not sure why I asked otherwise." I laughed, happy to see her bright smile.
"They can't die," she started softly, "but that doesn't mean they have to be whole."
I laughed loudly, along with her mates, at her quiet confession. "Of course." I conceded.
As the laughter died down, the girls moved back to the stove and the boys joined me at the table. Together, we watched them finish making their breakfast.
As they joined us at the table, I sat back and watched the four of them interact with each other. Angela snatched pieces of the waffle of Isabella's plate with ease and Isabella giggled as she picked at the eggs in front her despite the interruptions. Edward prodded Angela to eat her own eggs as the Major indulged Isabella's want of the lemonade that was in front of him.
At no point did they lose contact with each other through it all. Edward kept a hand on the back of Isabella's neck while the Major allowed Angela to lean into his side. A quick glance under the table proved all four pairs of legs in a tangle that looked uncomfortable but was soothing to their bond.
"Thank you."
The whispered acceptance from both Edward and the Major, brought my attention back to the two of them. The shared loved between the four of them made me ache for my beloved Sulpicia but I enjoyed being around them. I shrugged as I registered the feeling of awe and nostalgia their bond gave me.
It is always a pleasure to see them together and I hope it lasts until the end of time.
A/N: Another chapter is done! Hopefully this version is better and easier to keep up with.
