Chapter 52

Calypso slowly walked back into the 's lobby. Partly because the only heels, Miss Dawlish seemed to own were ridiculously high. At this height, she was almost as tall as Theo.

Kind of embarrassing since both her parents were tall as well.

Calypso cleared her throat awkwardly. "I'm here to visit my...fiance"
The Welcome Witch glanced up with her. "And you are?"
"Uhhh, Dawlish's fiance"
"Id?"
Calypso laughed nervously. "That's not necessary is it?"
"Yes, it is"
"I uh, forgot to bring it."
"No ID no entry"

Calypso made a big show of patting her pockets, looking for a nonexistent card. "Will my wand do?", she asked finally.

The lady sighed. "Yes, it will. Give it here"
Thank Salazar Calypso had thought of taking Miss Dawlish's wand- disguised as a fluffy stick back then- and handed it to the lady.

Calypso tapped her foot, a bit louder than she intended since she still hadn't gotten used to the high-platform soles yet. "Done?"

Miss grumpy glared at her, (she's supposed to be welcoming!) "Yes, go right on ahead. Fifth floor, first door on the left"

Damn, they needed better security, not that Calypso was complaining of course.

"Thank you" Calypso sniffed, before switching her attention to not tripping and looking like an idiot as she climbed the steps to Theo's room.

Finally, after many close calls and awkward conversations, she knocked on the bare wooden door in front of her.

Quickly, a healer bustled out. "Ahh. Mrs. Dawlish! Come in yes, ten minutes?"
"Sure…"
The healer nodded and closed the door behind them.

Calypso cleared her throat awkwardly. "Well hello"
Dawlish the auror glared at her. "Hi Calypso"
"How'd you know it was me?" Calypso demanded. Was she really that obvious?

"It was obvious"

Of course, it was.

Calypso raised an eyebrow. "In what way?"
Theo rolled his eyes, "First, you stumbled over the threshold into here. Second, you keep moving your hands in front of your chest. Third-"
"Alright, I get it! I suck at being confident. Now come on, let's get out of here"

"Not so fast."
"WHAT?"
"I never got your answer…"
"To?"

"Will you be my girlfriend?"

In the distance, she could hear yelling in the St. Mungo's lobby.
Calypso took a deep breath in. "If we get out of here alive, I'm all yours"

Theo grinned, "Great, come on" shoved open the door.

"THERE!", someone shouted. "IMPOSTERS!"
"Run!" Theo shouted, pulling her up the stairs, higher into the building.

"Are you crazy?" Calypso screamed. "We need to get out! We can't- oh no no no"

"Yes yes yes" Theo argued, shattering the sun window in front of them. "JUMP!"
"NO!" Calypso shook her head frantically and peered down. It was a thousand feet drop at least if they were lucky.

"GO!" Theo shouted at her through the wind. "They're coming!"

"NO! IF WE JUMP, WE'RE GOING TO-"
"Trust me!" Theo begged. "NOW!"
Calypso glanced back, two security guards were running towards them with their wands out, "IN-"
Calypso jumped.

For a few seconds, she whistled past her ears. The pavement was getting nearer and nearer. Any second now, they would make contact. Calypso squeezed her eyes shut for the impact- it never came.

Instead, she was hovering above the ground.

Suddenly, there was a loud thump beside her.

Theo crashed to the ground just a few feet away and even through the wind, she could hear the unmistakable sound of wood splintering.

"No, no, no" Calypso pushed herself off the ground and ran towards him. The stupid boy had saved her life at the expense of his own. "Theo- come on"

Calypso pressed her ears against his chest, "Please, please"

As a miracle would have it, he had a slight pulse. Wonderful. But he could still die obviously. She needed potions, or better, direct medical attention. Obviously not from though, that would be stupid.

Calypso dug back through her bag she'd hidden but there was nothing helpful inside, she guessed all the potions had either been smashed or rolled out as she landed on the floor, rather brutally she might add...not that she was ungrateful for Theo's sacrifice or anything.

Well, at least she had to know the extent of his injuries first. The last thing she needed was to fuss over him, then realize that he was perfectly fine and just sleeping. (extremely unlikely but…)

Gently, she pressed against his chest and felt around for broken bones- but she may have missed some spots because….yeah

Then she found his stupid cellphone in his robe pocket. Of all the things that would survive the fall, the cellphone did?!

Sighing, she pressed the power button, and miraculously, it turned on. 'Nokia' flashed across the screen for a second before a dial came up.

Calypso thought for a while before calling her own number. With luck, her mum would answer it back at home.

"Beep beep beep", then the waiting screen appeared.

*now disclaimer, I have absolutely no clue how these old cell phones work, I was born in the 21st century.*

Then after a minute, the phone shut down again. "I- that was rude" Calypso muttered to herself and tried again.

"Beep beep beep" and then the waiting screen. "BZZZ BZZZZZ BZZZZ BZZZZ BZZZZZ ring ring ring"

"OH! Mum!"

"Who is this?" a squeaky garbled voice answered.

"Uhhh. Can you please give this to Bellatrix Lestrange"

"Yes of course! I will give to my lady!"

"...thank...you"

A second later, another voice appeared. "Who is this?"
"Hi mum"
"Calypso?", her mum asked skeptically.

"Yes?"
"WHY DO YOU HAVE A MUGGLE PHONE?"
"Errr. well, we can talk about that-wait! Hang on"

Calypso had just noticed the sun setting ALREADY and muttered her animagus spell quickly before picking up the phone again. "You still their mum?"
"Yes…" her mum said in a tired voice.

"Good! Well, I'm in a kind of...desperate…. situation here and I need you to pick me up"

Her mum sighed through the garbled speakers. "Fine. Where are you? And where's Theo"
"Uhh right here. He might be dead"
"Stupid boy." her mother muttered. "Where are you again?"
Calypso glanced around, but there wasn't a street sign in sight. "Backside of ."

"What are you two doing in ?!" her mum demanded.

"Stuff," Calypso said vaguely. "Please come quick"
"Oh alright…"

When she said that, she meant for her mum to apparate there. Not drive up in a limousine one hour later. By then, Theo's pulse was steadily getting lighter and she just had to sit here doing nothing.

Finally, her mum drove up. "Get in loser"

Calypso rolled her eyes and with difficulty, hauled herself and Theo into the backside.

"Everyone good?"
Calypso nodded.

"Off we go then!" her mother said in an awfully happy voice.

About fifteen minutes into the trip... Calypso was getting awfully anxious. She didn't think she would be able to handle it if Theo died so she resorted to shaking him around.

"Whaaaaat" he grumbled after the one-hundredth poke.

"Theo!" she sad blissfully, leaning forward to hug him. Unfortunately, her mum had better ideas and they were at a stoplight...so she pushed them together into a kiss.

"Fuck Salazar" Calypso muttered under her breath.

Theo groaned and barely opened his eyes. "Please don't"
"Wha-I-" Calypso spluttered incoherently.

Bellatrix grinned back at her. "He has a point. If you cheat on the poor boy, all my wedding plans will be ruined!"
"W-wedding plans? MUM!"
Her mum just shrugged. "Theodore, are you two dating yet?"
Theo grimaced as he sat up. Though that could've just been from the effort and not her mother's words. "Right….she said if we got out of the hospital alive, she would date me"

Calypso cleared her throat. "SHE has a name and SHE is right here as you guys discuss my love life"

"Mmm," Theo said thoughtfully. "So you'll be my girlfriend?"
Calypso sighed. "I guess"

Bellatrix clapped her hands together gleefully, almost giving Calypso a heart attack. "MUM! TWO HANDS ON THE WHEEL!"
"What a killjoy" her mum muttered as she slammed on the breaks, NEARLY avoiding the curb.

Calypso buried her head into her hands. "I'm too young to die"
Her mum glared at her. "Say...what is that you're wearing young lady?"

Calypso glanced down at the LEAST REVEALING clothes she could find in Miss Dawlish's closet. "Er…."
"She's sixteen," Theo said helpfully. Or at least, maybe he was trying to be helpful because her mum's eyebrows shot up in the mirror thingie.

"SIXTEEN?! I thought you were out of Hogwarts"

"I- well I'm not", Calypso had no clue how her mother thought that...Draco was the same age as her and he was treated like an eleven-year-old.

"Whatever, you're getting much too old for school. I need an heir!"
Calypso crossed her arms resolutely across her stomach. "So Theo's my fuck buddy now?"
"When you say it like that...it sounds cruel" her mum sighed. "Think of him as the arranged father of your children"
"No no no! Absolutely not! NO! I'm not marrying him in any way, shape, or form!" then she turned to Theo. "did YOU know about this?!"
"Uhm...no?", he said nervously.

Calypso glared at him as her hand drifted towards the nearest weapon available- a candy jar.

"Woah no need to get violent there...WHERE'S MY WAND?"
Calypso looked at him apologetically. "Snapped. But if it makes you feel any better, mine was snapped too"
"Oh no need to worry about that" her mum cut off. "The Dark Lord's just kidnapped Ollivander and he's staying in our house for now. You two can get a new wand then...maybe if you earn it!"
"Earn...it?"

"Yup! I do love watching people get tortured…"
"You want to torture us?!"
Her mum glared at her through the rearview window. "No silly. I want you to torture Ollivander"

"WHAT?!"
Her mum shrugged. "Or Theodore could do it"
Calypso glanced over at Theo and could see his jaw clench at being called 'Theodore'.

"Can't you do it?" Calypso whined.

"I would love too but you or Theodore need the practive. Besides, I know he can do it!", Bellatrix said encouragingly.

"What why?"
"He's been in charge of torturing the misbehaviors already!"
"And you didn't tell me?" Calypso hissed at Theo.

Theo merely shrugged. "What you didn't know won't hurt you"
"Uh huh. And have they been torturing you back then?"
"No...why?"
Calypso narrowed her eyes. "The healer said you'd been tortured several times over the past few days"
Through the corner of her eye, she could see her mum discreetly making a slight face of sympathy. "Those didn't come from the prisoners dear. They were from his father"
"WHAT?!" Calypso demanded, nearly jumping out of the car. She knew was a slight maniac and violent but she never knew he'd dare to touch Theo. "WAS THAT IMPORTANT ENOUGH TO TELL ME?" She screeched at Theo.

He glanced down. "I didn't want you to worry"
Calypso glared at him but felt her expression soften. "Tell me things sometimes...please?"
He said nothing but it wasn't a direct no so she sat back down.

The rest of the car ride was silent with her mum gritting her teeth from time to time and intervals of Theo taking in deep breaths.
