Haidee didn't know what to say, but even if she had, she had no time to respond as they quickly found themselves with George, who was talking to Harry, Ron and Hermione.
"Malfoy just docked us all about fifty points," said Harry furiously, and she was glad to see that she was not the only one upset about this coming situation. She looked at Fred, who nodded as George looked at him, making him smile.
"Warrington docked ten from me," she said as she approached, feeling quite down. She was never really one to complain, but the injustice Umbridge was letting ravage the school was unspeakable.
"What for?" asked Hermione as Haidee rested her head against Fred's shoulder. "I can't imagine you were doing anything wrong."
"No, I was studying in the library," she said sadly. "It was for dating Fred," she scoffed petitely. "Ridiculous."
"Yeah, Montague tried to do us during break," said George.
"What do you mean 'tried'?" asked Ron.
"He never managed to get the words out," said Fred, "due to the fact that we forced him head-first into the Vanishing Cabinet on the first floor." Haidee laughed by his side, feeling horrible that she felt no remorse for him at all.
"But you'll get in terrible trouble," Hermione gasped.
"Not until Montague reappears, and that could take weeks, I dunno where we sent him," said Fred, cooly. "Anyway . . . we've decided we don't care about getting in trouble anymore."
"Have you ever?" said Hermione.
"'Course we have," said George. "Never been expelled, have we?"
"Haidee drew a line and we never crossed it," Fred smirked, nudging her playfully.
"We might have put a toe over it occasionally," said George, grinning at Haidee who shook her head teasingly.
"But now?" asked Ron.
"Well, now-" said George
"- what with Dumbledore gone -" said Fred.
"- we reckon a bit of mayhem -" said George.
"- is exactly what our new Headmistress deserves," said Fred.
Haidee knew, now that Fred and George had no intention of staying, that they would not be leaving quietly. She grinned at their side, only imagining the chaos they had prepared.
"You mustn't!" whispered Hermione. "You really mustn't! She'd love a reason to expel you!" She looked to Haidee for support which she did not return.
"You don't get it, Hermione, do you?" said Fred, grinning as he wrapped an arm around Haidee. "We don't care about staying anymore. We'd walk out right now, now that I've got Haidee's blessing," he said, tickling her side with his fingers as he grinned, "but we're determined to do our bit for Dumbledore first. So anyway," Fred checked his watch, "phase one is about to begin. I'd get out of the Great Hall for lunch, if I were you, that way the teachers will see you can't have anything to do with it."
"Haidee, what is he talking about?" Hermione asked, clearly not getting anything out of the twins.
"I have no idea," she said honestly, "but I'm looking forward to it."
"Run along, now," said George, holding a mischievous grin on his lips. The three of them turned away and disappeared from Harry, Ron and Hermione's sight as they headed into the crowd of oncoming students, heading to the Great Hall for lunch.
Haidee grinned as she looked at the twins.
"What's the plan?" she asked excitedly, making the twins grin.
"You seem oddly eager," George commented as Haidee shrugged.
"Well, the schools in shambles under her control and I never really found much of a reason to respect her or like her. On that note, she might actually be the first person I hate," Haidee muttered.
"Snape?" Fred asked.
"Tolerable," she admitted. "I think seeing Professor Umbridge in distress would be the exact way to lighten the school's mood."
"And you want to be a Healer," Fred scoffed with a laugh.
"So what's the plan? What can I do?" she asked, knowing the boys already had something in mind.
"We have a plan and you need to stay out of it," said Fred. "We may be leaving school but you're not. We don't want to give her a reason to punish you."
"But-"
"Everything's already in place, Haidee. Just be prepared to awe at our awesomeness," George smiled. "Might be a good idea if you leave the Great Hall, too. Come running when you hear the first explosion."
"Explosion?"
"Go," said Fred. "I'll see you soon." He gave her a kiss on the cheek and left her, leaving her to walk slowly to the library, as slow as she could without seeming suspicious, waiting for the first explosion.
BOOM!
The floor shook and Haidee smiled, turning around and ran in the direction of the Great Hall. It was not difficult to find the source, as she rounded the corner, she saw pandemonium reign.
Someone had set off an enormous creat of enchanted fireworks. Haidee, who stood in amazement, pressed against the wall, watching in awe as the fireworks exploded all around chaotically, had a very good idea of who released them.
Dragons comprised of green and gold sparks soared up and down the corridors, chasing students out of the way, emitting loud fiery blasts and bangs as they went. Catherine wheels five feet in diameter were whizzing lethally through the air, knocking things from the wall, making it rain fiery sparks. Screams and laughs from students could be heard as sparklers chased them around. Sparks were writing swear words in midair on their own accord. Mayhem wreaked havoc over the Great Hall and Entrance Hall, and Haidee watched with a sense of pride at such a brilliant plan.
Filch and Umbridge were transfigured in horror, watching the scene unfold. Fireworks bursting out of control, in all colours in all direction, sparking, firing, banging and screaming. Debris from the fireworks rained down on them as they stared until a Catherine wheel started heading in their direction, screaming a sinister 'wheeeeee' forcing them to dive for safety.
They were both yelling, ducking, trying to fight the fireworks any way that they could and from the corner of her eye, she saw Fred and George behind a door that was concealed behind a tapestry a little way along the corridor. In an instant, she ran for them, ducking and swerving out of the way from fireworks as she did.
"I have no words," she said as she reached them, staring with a massive grin as Umbridge and Filch fuss around the fireworks, helplessly trying to control them.
"Good?" Fred asked and if Haidee's grin could widen any more, it had. When she looked to him, the specific smell of smoke she smelt when making her Armortentia filled her nose.
"Astounding," she corrected. She watched as Umbridge tried to Stun one of the fireworks, only causing it to explode with such force that it blasted a hole in one of the few remaining portraits left in the school.
Just then, Harry appeared beside them, grinning.
"Impressive," Harry said quietly, grinning. "Very impressive . . . you'll put Dr Filibuster out of business, no problem . . . "
"Cheers," whispered George, wiping tears of laughter from his face. "Oh, I hope she tries Vanishing them next . . . they multiply by ten every time you try."
Haidee grinned. "I can help with that," she said, skimming past the boys to plant some mischief.
The boys watched as Haidee found a little corner away from eyesight, and every time a firework whirled past her, she would whisper, "Evanesco," and watch as the firework multiplied by ten.
Umbridge and Filch were too busy worrying about the fireworks ravaging the school to see Haidee, who knew a particular skill set of hiding in the shadows, multiplying the fireworks whenever she could.
The fireworks continued to burn and spread throughout the school that afternoon, causing plenty of disruptions, which the teachers were loving, as every time there was a firework in their classroom, they had the pleasure of alerting Umbridge and she spent her time as Headmistress running around the school after hooligan fireworks that were particularly difficult to eradicate.
Not many people knew it was Fred and George's doing, although most people, especially the teachers, had their suspicions, yet never said a word of it to Umbridge. Fred and George were heroes to the ones who knew, and Haidee was able to make a few sweets in celebration that she brought to the Gryffindor common room as they all celebrated.
The Easter holidays were coming up and Haidee was, indeed, studying every free moment. The daunting realisation that exams were nearing closer and closer every day was suddenly upon her and she had found herself glued to the library every free chance she had.
It was quite distressing to her that in her final months at Hogwarts, she was not able to enter her safe haven, the kitchen, due to the control of Umbridge as much as she would have liked. Especially, in such distressing and unjust times where sitting in the library and studying peacefully would make her liable for Hufflepuff house point deduction, she craved the atmosphere of the kitchen and the ability to bake freely. She was only able to enter and exit the kitchen past hours of the curfew, mostly only in the early hours of the morning meaning her hours in the kitchen had been cut and her already lacking sleep schedule was worsening. Most days she would have to skip entering the kitchen, for she would be too exhausted from studying.
It was an average, miserable day under the control of Umbridge, or so many people thought it was. Fred and George had alerted Haidee of phase two part of their plan. They had not told her what had they were doing, just that it would be done that day.
She was leaving her Arithmancy classroom when she heard a loud explosion sound from not far. Instantly, she saw a few people running in the direction of the sound and normally, she would not be one to follow a large crowd, but with the knowledge that Fred and George were planning a prank that day, she followed, in hopes it would be them.
After rounding a few corners, hearing people laughing and screaming, she saw what had happened. Near Headmistress Umbridge's office, there was a large swamplike, green substance pooling in one of the corridors. It was like a green explosion had occurred. It covered walls, splattering on windows and continued to seep into nearing hallways. Students had to continuously back away as it crept towards them.
Haidee looked around with a small grin on her lips, but there was no Fred or George to be seen. From the other end of the hallway, she had seen Professor Umbridge appear to see the direction that had been caused. She looked utterly mortified, watching as the swamp expanded and students, who had been present the time of the explosion, were covered in the substance.
Angrily, Umbridge turned to find the culprits responsible and Haidee listened to the whispers of the students talking about how brilliant this prank had been.
"It was Fred and George," one said.
"Of course it was, who else would do this?" another replied.
"I saw them running away. Hope they don't get caught."
Haidee smiled widely as she retreated from the scene, hearing shouts and screams coming for Umbridge as she tried to find the twins. That was, however, until they were caught.
She ran down the marble staircase to the Entrance Hall, where other students were heading. She had seen most of the school students assemble in a circle, even Peeves was there watching. Professor Umbridge was already there, a few step before Haidee, looking menacingly pleased and there, in the middle of the floor, stood Fred and George, with the unmistakable look of two people who had just been cornered.
Harry came bounding down the staircase next and he stood next to Haidee as they both watched.
"So!" said Umbridge triumphantly. "So, you think it amusing to turn a school corridor into a swamp, do you?"
"Pretty amusing, yeah," replied Fred, looking at her without the slightest sign of fear. Haidee smiled at his response, wider than she thought she should have.
Then came Filch, brimming with happiness. "I've got the form, Headmistress," he said, almost about to cry with joy. "I've got the forms and I've got the whips waiting . . . oh, let me do it now . . . " he said eagerly.
"Very good, Argus," she said, gazing down at them from her step with a wicked smile. "You two are about to learn what happens to wrongdoers in my school."
"You know what?" said Fred. "I don't think we are." He turned to his twin. "George, I think we've outgrown full-time education."
"Yeah, I've been feeling that way myself," George replied.
"Time to test out talents in the real world, d'you reckon?" asked Fred.
"Definitely," replied George and before Umbridge could utter a word, together, they lifted their wands and shouted, "Accio brooms!"
There was a loud crash from somewhere in the distance. Looking to her left, Harry and herself ducked just in time as their brooms came zooming out of Professor Umbridge's office, still trailing the heavy chains that locked them away in her office. They rattled loudly as the hurled towards their owners, and Haidee watched with pride as they mounted them.
"We won't be seeing you," Fred told Professor Umbridge as he swung his leg over his broom.
"Yeah, don't bother to keep in touch," said George, mounting his.
"If anyone wants to buy a Portable Swamp, as demonstrated upstairs, come to number ninety-three Diagon Alley - Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes!" Fred shouted to the crowd. "Our new premises!"
"Special discounts to Hogwarts students who swear they're going to use the products to get rid of this old bat," said George, pointing at Professor Umbridge.
"Stop them!" Professor Umbridge screamed with all her might and all her rage, but it was too late. Fred sent Haidee a wink and kicked off the ground. The two of them shot fifteen feet into the air, the iron chain dangling dangerously bellow. Fred looked across the hall and the poltergeist bobbing around the crowd.
"Give her hell her us, Peeves."
And Peeves, who Haidee had never seen take an order from a student before, swept his belled hat from his head and sprang into a salute as Fred and George wheeled about to the tumultuous applause from the students and sped out of the open doors.
Haidee cheered with all her might. Clapping and screaming. It was a glorious sight, and although she knew she would be more lonesome, now that Fred and George were gone, she could not have thought of a more appropriate exit for them.
