Chapter 53-Dealing with Trauma
Clarke walks into the medical tent. It was dark outside as Clarke looked at Lexa, who was sleeping in bed. "She'll be okay, Clarke," Abby says as she comes over to her daughter. "Did you ever plan on telling me?" Abby asks her daughter. Clarke looks at her.
"How did you find out?" Clarke asks.
"How do you know I couldn't tell?" Abby asks. Clarke raises her eyebrows at her mother. "I came to your room, and you weren't there, and I asked your father and may have walked him into the wall till he told me," Abby says. Clarke laughs.
"Of course I was going to tell you. We have been busy. Lexa said her army would be here in three days. We now have two days," Clarke says.
"We'll win. They'll attack before the army gets her. Most likely early morning, the day after tomorrow. Go sit with Lexa," Abby says. Clarke nods as she goes and sits down by Lexa's bed. Clarke lays her head down and closes her eyes. Luna and Billy were training in the cell room. Billy and Luna's swords clash together as sparks come off from the impact. Billy backs up and swirls his sword in his hand.
"You are a fast learner," Luna says.
"Anya is a good teacher," Billy says. Billy swings his sword at Luna, who moves back. Luna swings his sword at him, and Billy uses his sword to block hers.
"Okay, let's take a break," Luna says. Billy nods as he puts the sword in his sheath. He grabs the canteen and takes a drink. Luna sits down beside him and takes a drink. "What did you tell, Raven?" Luna asks. Billy looks at her and smiles.
"She is with Harper, Octavia, Mia, Claire, and Emma. I think they dragged Emori and Ontari with them. Anya is gods know where. They are having a girl's night, as they called it. I believe Clarke is with Lexa. Do you know why she went into surgery?" Billy asks Luna.
"She'll tell you soon," Luna tells Billy, who nods. "How are you doing?" Luna asks.
"Fine," Billy says to her.
"Billy, you can't hide it forever. Keeping this inside will kill you," Luna says.
"I can't think about that right now. We have to deal with the clanless, and then we have to deal with Mount Weather," Billy says to her.
"You are just like, Lexa," Luna says.
"I'll take that as a compliment," Billy says as he looks at the wall.
"Get some sleep. We have work to do tomorrow," Luna says. Billy nods as he walks away. He walks into his room and takes off his coat, and sets his sword down. He lays down and goes to sleep. Wells sat in his room looking at an old photo of his mother when Ontari came into the room. She looks at him.
"I can leave," Ontari says.
"It's okay," Wells says to her as he puts the picture into a drawer. Ontari sits down in a chair.
"How is your father doing?" Ontari asks.
"He's okay. He's in a room with Jackson checking on him regularly," Wells says to her as he gets off the bed. "You can take the bed," Wells says to her.
"Do you have any weapons?" Ontari asks him. Wells looks at her and lifts his shirt to reveal a knife. He opens the drawer and shows her his handgun.
"It looks like at some point I'll have to learn how to defend myself with your weapons," Wells says.
"Sword or bow?" Ontari asks Wells with a smile.
"Bow," Wells says. Ontari lays down on the bed.
"I'll teach you tomorrow if you agree to sleep on this bed," Ontari says to Wells, who nods as he lays down on the bed. Wells keeps his distance as he goes to sleep. Emma walks into Bellamy's room and sees him taking his shirt off. He turns around when he hears the door shut.
"Hey," Bellamy says.
"Not the worst thing I could have walked in on," Emma says. Bellamy smiles.
"Girls night over?" Bellamy asks.
"Yeah, we had fun," Emma says as she goes over to Bellamy and kisses him. "Now we have all night, and the door is locked," Emma says to Bellamy, who smiles as he kisses her again and lifts her up. Emma wraps her legs around her waist. Bellamy lays her down on the bed and pulls her shirt off before he kisses her again. Billy shoots up in bed with sweat going down his forehead. He could see Raven sleeping. He climbs out of bed and walks outside of Alpha station, and sits down. He sits for about ten minutes when Kane sits down by him.
"Nightmare?" Kane asks.
"I see them all together. My parents and Finn and they were all on that platform, and I pulled the trigger, but I didn't stop. I kept going, and I killed everybody, all of my friends. I can't close my eyes without seeing his face, Kane. Every time I see his face as he looked up at me in his final seconds of life. He wasn't mad or sad. He understood. I saw it in his eyes. I killed my friend, and he didn't care," Billy says. "We still haven't burnt his body," Billy says.
"Maybe we shouldn't," Kane says. Billy looks at him, confused. "I think you need to make peace, and then you need to be the one who burns him," Kane says.
"How do I come to peace with this?" Billy asks Kane.
"First, you talk to the one person you are scared to talk about this with. Your girlfriend, and then you have to find a way to forgive yourself," Kane says. Billy nods as he stands up. He hugs Kane before he heads back inside Alpha station. He walks to his room and walks in to see Raven looking at the door. Her hair was down. Billy walks over to her and sits down by her. "I guess it is about time we talk," Billy says to her. Raven looks at him and nods.
"Yeah," Raven says.
"I need to know how you feel," Billy says to Raven, sighs.
"I love you. I do. I love you so much. But I also loved Finn. Maybe not in the same way anymore, but I still loved him. I understood why you did it. I knew that it had to happen, but when you drove your sword through his heart. It felt like I lost an arm. I don't know what to do now," Raven says. "Since Finn, you have been distant. You train with Luna, take care of camp, and plan for fights. You know Wick didn't even think we were together and if he did. He thought it was a fling. How do you think that made me feel? That is how I feel. I feel like I don't matter," Raven says to Billy in anger with tears going down her eyes. Billy pulls her into a hug, and Raven hugs him back as she cries.
"I'm sorry," Billy says as he hugs her. He holds her tight as he lays her down and holds her as she cries and falls into sleep. Early in the morning Murphy walks outside and sees Octavia outside by herself.
"Blake," Murphy says to her. Octavia looks at him and smiles.
"John," Octavia says. Murphy smiles as she looks at him.
"You want to show me what you can do?" Murphy asks Octavia, who nods as she leads him inside. After their training, Murphy sat beside Octavia with water in his hand. He hands it to Octavia. "How are things with Lincoln?" Murphy asks her.
"We're good. I think he plans on training Harper. Indra has been watching me. I don't know why," Octavia says.
"Maybe she wants to take you in as her second," Murphy says as Octavia hands him the water. "Who knows, maybe one day you'll be able to beat Billy," Murphy says with a smirk.
"Not likely. He's being trained by Luna and was trained by Anya," Octavia says. Murphy smirks as he hands her the water. "You want to do this again later?" Octavia asks Murphy, who nods with a smile. Murphy stands up and helps Octavia up.
"See you later, Blake," Murphy says.
"See you later, John," Octavia says before she walks away. Lincoln walks up to Harper's door and knocks. Harper opens the door and looks at him.
"Lincoln," Harper says.
"I have trained Octavia for a little while, and I believe Indra wants to take over. Did you want to be trained in our way," Lincoln says
"Yeah," Harper says as she comes out. Lincoln leads her outside to the training ring. Billy holds Raven in bed. She moves her head a little bit and looks at him. Billy kisses her.
"I can stay here," Billy says. Raven smiles as she grabs his hand.
"Maybe, once all this is over, we'll have the chance to lay in bed all day," Raven says as she stands up and puts on her boots. Billy puts on his armor and looks at her. He kisses her again.
"Raven, I'm sorry. You are the best thing to ever happen to me, and that will never change. I love you, Raven Reyes, and I will never take you for granted again," Billy says. Raven smiles as Billy kisses her. "By the way, if Wick tries anything. They won't find a body," Billy says.
"You should go talk to Lexa," Raven says. Billy nods. He kisses her, leaves the room, and heads to the medical tent where he sees Lexa awake. She looks at him.
"Time to explain, Lexa," Billy says to her. Lexa explains to Billy what she told Abby the day before.
"Who are you giving it to?" Billy asks. Clarke looks at Lexa and back at Billy.
"You, Billy. I want you to become a nightblood," Lexa says to Billy, who looks at her at her in shock.
Thanks for reading. This nightblood thing does have a purpose, but that will not be for a little while, and this was a good time to set it up. They will be, I think, one more chapter before the fight. I want to know something. Do you guys believe Octavia and Murphy would be a good pairing? I like it, and I want to know what you think.
