Chapter 52
No one was sure what was going on. One moment, things were as peaceful as ever in Gamindustri, with only low level monsters anywhere near the cities, and the next moment monsters of all sorts, many of which had never been seen before, were flooding into the cities themselves.
Sitting on her book and looking out at the city, Histoire felt ice flowing through her. She turned to the staff and quickly issued orders to get Basilicom guard and city guard out to try and quell the monster attack. She turned back to look outside and saw to her dismay that the monsters were getting more and more out of control. "This..."
"Look after Planeptune, Histy."
"Uzume?" Histoire asked softly as her friend's words echoed through her head. "...I failed you, I failed Neptune... I failed Uranus, Nepgear and so many more..."
Screwing her eyes shut, Histoire balled her hands into fists. "...I'm so sick of being a failure."
She knew what she needed to do.

"YEEEK!" Chuko, a white mouse that ran a retro game store, yelled in fright as a large bug-like monster appeared in front of her and startled her so badly that she fell to her back. She could only stare in horror as the creature raised its left arm up, a bladed sickle of an appendage, and slashed down. "HELP!" She screamed while screwing her eyes shut.
"LOOK OUT!" A voice yelled out and Chuko found herself being knocked away from the attack. "Are you okay, chu?"
Chuko blinked and opened her eyes. "...You're..?" She thought she recognized him, but she couldn't place it as he was really close to her after tackling her out of the way.
The black and gray mouse got off of her. "We need to get out of here, chu!" The mouse trembled as the creature was suddenly on them. "AAAAH!"
"NO!" Chuko yelled in fear as the blade came down fast and hard.
There was a clanging sound and Chuko blinked in shock as there was another person there. "Sheesh! I was just trying to get some freaking lunch and this happens!" An annoyed female voice spoke up. The person who was standing in front of them was wearing boots, green cargo pants and a black tubetop while having ash-colored skin, green hair and pointed ears while blocking the attack with a pipe.
"Hey, you're that underling who worked for me." The black mouse pointed out.
"Don't call me that, Warechu!" Underling yelled in annoyance as she struggled against the monster. "Don't think of me as some nice person, I ain't doing this to save your ass, I had my lunch ruined by these monsters." She let loose a yell as the monster over-powered her and sent her flying away.
After crashing on her head, Underling, or rather Linda, as that was her real name, grimaced and rubbed the back of her head. "Oww, fuck, I know that I'm getting older, but that hurt!" She looked at the monster in worry as it came towards her. 'Shit, I almost wish those CPU brats killed me than this thing.'
There was a sudden thunderous sound near them and the next thing that anyone knew, the creature suddenly split into two as the top half slowly slid off until it hit the ground and the creature disappeared. Standing just behind where the creature had been was a large, armored person who had a large sword and a cape on. "Heh heh heh, if I allowed monsters to destroy Gamindustri, then any chance I would get to have to get more busty blonde memorabilia would be lost!"
Linda, Warechu and Chuko all sweat-dropped heavily upon hearing that. However, as the large man rushed forward and slashed down several monsters with ease, none of them could deny how effective he was.
"General Affimojas!" A screen popped up in front of Affimojas, revealing a blue robotic ninja. "I am in Lastation."
"Excellent, Steamax!" Affimojas nodded as he removed the head of another monster. "Protect Lady Uni's nation with all you have."
"Of course, General!" Steamax straightened up and bowed. "Steamax out!" The screen turned off as Affimojas turned to look at Warechu, Chuko and Linda. "Sir Warechu! Get those civilians out of here!"
"You don't need to tell me twice!" Warechu yelled as he helped usher both Linda and Chuko off the street, past a few buildings and around the corner, only to run into several large lizard-like dog creatures. "AAAAAH!"
"Crap!" Linda yelled and looked behind her, only to see that Affimojas was long gone. "Dammit!"
A suddenly blast of magic hit the center of the dogs, stunning everyone as ice crystals erupted outwards, skewering most of the lizard dogs.
"I won't allow you to hurt my nation or the people in it." Histoire said as she floated down and glared at the dogs.
"H-Hey! Are you sure you're capable of fighting?!" A screen popped up, revealing a member of the Basilicom. "If you got hurt, Lady Nepgear and Lady Neptune would have my head!"
The look of anguish and anger on Histoire's face caused the staff member to pause as tears were building up in Histoire's eyes. "I have sat back and watched CPU after CPU go out and fight and die for our nation. I did nothing as Orange Heart sealed herself away. I refuse to fail her or Purple Heart again!" Her wings suddenly glowed brightly as the wind around her picked up. "I am tired of being helpless! I shall show you what the power of this tome is truly capable of!" She rushed forward and zipped past the lizard creature, before spinning around and zipping past the creature again...
...And again...
...And several more times. Really, it was almost hilarious how fast Histoire was moving before she came to a stop and the creature fell to the ground in pieces before disappearing.
"Lady Histoire!" Affimojas yelled as he rounded the corner. "I wish you had told me that you were taking the field, I would have helped you." He looked and saw Warechu, Linda and Chuko. "Sir Warechu, did I not tell you to take those two civilians out of the danger zone?"
"R-right!" Warechu nodded as he, Chuko and Linda scrambled to their feet.
"Head to the Basilicom if you can't protect yourself." Histoire told them and looked at Affimojas. "Very well, my life is in your hands."
"Well, if something happens to you, who will get me all of those busty blonde figurines?!" Affimojas laughed and turned around as more monsters came rushing out. "Shall we deal with them?"
"Yes." Histoire nodded as magic built up in front of her. "I was always tasked with guiding the CPUs of Planeptune and recording history, but I saw so many CPUs die over the years and I wonder why I have such power if I was never meant to use it."
"Your job is to ensure that the history of Gamindustri is recorded." Affimojas told her as the two went down the streets. "Do not ever feel ashamed for doing your job."
Warechu and Chuko were moving towards the Basilicom while Linda looked at where Affimojas and Histoire were at. "...Feh, no skin off my back." She turned to go after Warechu when she suddenly fell to the ground. "FUCK!" She yelled and gripped at her right leg. "You just HAD to cramp up right now, didn't you?!" She yelled while trying to move her leg.
After what seemed like forever, she looked up as she felt a hand on her shoulder. "Huh?" She blinked in surprise as she saw some security forces. "What are you doing?"
"A talking black rat told us that there was another person back here." The person, a woman, said as she helped Linda to her feet. "Can you walk?"
"My leg's cramped to hell and back, I can't feel my toes right now." Linda admitted, grimacing in pain. "Hey, life sucks, okay?"
"I understand." She nodded and looked at her partner, who walked over, knelt down and picked Linda up and put her over their shoulders in a fireman's carry. "Get her to the Basilicom, okay?"
"Right."
"HEY!" Linda yelled, her face red as she was carried off. "This is embarrassing!"
"Would you rather be dead?"
Linda was silent and decided that it could be worse.

In another part of the city...
"DOOD!" Pudding yelled as he held up a skull and let loose a massive laser, cutting down several of the smaller monsters in one shot. "Bring it on! I won't let you hurt Master Neptune's home, dood!"
The lizard dogs let out a collective growl and pounced at Pudding, who turned while bouncing and hopping to avoid them. "WAAAAAH!" Pudding's eyes were white and blank while he ran to avoid the monsters. "I hate when I get chased!"
As soon as he was out of the side streets and into a main intersection, Pudding jumped on top of the street lights across the street and pulled out several blades. "Ha ha ha! Prinny raid, dood!" The Prinny threw dozens upon dozens of his blades out at the monsters, stunning and hurting them long enough for several Basilicom soldiers to rush in and finish the job off. "Good work, dood!"
"It's all thanks to you!" One of the younger members said, saluting the Prinny.
"Let's deal with them so Master Neptune can come home to a nice and safe city, dood!" Pudding declared, getting cheers from the others.

In Leanbox...
"HIYAH!" Dogoo Man yelled as he knocked out another monster. "Ha ha ha! As if any of these monsters can match up to my muscles!" He took a moment to strike a pose and flex his muscles, allowing his mighty pectoral muscles to move and jiggle.
The Dogoo Lady with him just swooned in delight as she kicked a monster into another monster, killing both as the first one had been launched with the force of a cannon. "You're so awesome!"
"Ha ha ha!" Dogoo Man laughed as he punched another monster, defeating it instantly. "E-Sha and S-Sha didn't choose us to be her friends for no reason after all! Let's show these vermin what solid muscles can do in the face of their power."
"Right." Dogoo Lady winked as she kicked a manhole cover over to Dogoo Man, who grabbed it and flung it like a Frisbee into and through several monsters. "After all, I doubt that S-Sha, E-Sha or Vert would want to see such a beautiful country be destroyed by a monster infestation."
"Of course!" Dogoo Man nodded as he grabbed one of the lizard dogs by its mouth and pulled the jaw apart so hard that there was a brutal snap before it fell over dead.
"Let's make sure that this city is as safe as possible!" Dogoo Lady yelled at the Leanbox soldiers, who all cheered in agreement.

In Lowee...
Several large bug-like monsters floated into Lowee City, only for a wave of arrows to greet them as they were pelted with arrows, stopping them.
"Do not let the monsters in!" Financier yelled as she directed the Hunters. "We must protect Lowee for Lady Blanc, Lady Rom, Lady Ram and Lady C-Sha!"
"FOR OUR LADIES!" The Hunters all yelled as several with melee weapons rushed forward to fight the monsters.
"I WON'T LET YOU HURT THIS PLACE!" A big, burly man yelled as he slammed a large metal bat into one of the bugs. "For that cute, petite CPU, I won't let you ruin this nation!"
"THAT'S RIGHT!" Another man, a bit more stout and with a beard nodded as he swung a double-headed axe into a few monsters. "The thought of Lady Blanc or her sisters being sad because this nation was damaged is UNACCEPTABLE!"
Gunshots rang out as a lithe woman with a handgun in each hand smirked as two more monsters dropped dead. "After all, if she wasn't the CPU anymore, then we wouldn't have a cute CPU with such a nice butt running things anymore!"
"FOR THE CUTE BOOTY!"
Financier sweat-dropped heavily. 'Well, at least they have motivation.' Still, she hoped that Blanc never found out about this. 'She'd either die of embarrassment, wear a cape to cover her butt up or try to kill someone.'
All of which would be unacceptable.
Financier, after all, liked to sneak peeks of Blanc's butt just as much as anyone in Lowee.

In Lastation...
Steamax cut down several monsters as he ran through the city, making sure to grab young children or the elderly who couldn't get out of the way and move them to safety in the meantime. "Go with the Basilicom staff, they'll protect you." He said to the young girl, who nodded as he landed in front of the Basilicom.
Steamax turned and jumped away, throwing several stars out and taking out several more monsters while Basilicom and military members fought against the creatures to keep them from getting too far into the city. As he bounced from building to building, he stopped as he saw someone fighting a bunch of monsters while surrounded by them. He threw several kunai and shuriken at the monsters as he jumped over them and landed near the person in question. "Are you okay?"
"I'm fine, thanks for asking." The person, who was a woman with short, red hair, red eyes and was wearing a very... Tight outfit that barely covered her very large breasts. "My name's Marvelous AQL," she sighed as she flipped her short sword around, "sheesh, I just HAD to come back to check on everyone when something crazy was going down, huh?"
Steamax nodded as he avoided looking at her. He could already feel himself shorting out just by being around her. If he looked at her for too long, he knew that he would pass out. "Let us go."
"Of course." Marvelous AQL nodded as they lunged at the monsters, going in different directions as they sought to split up the task of dealing with the monsters.
Even if they didn't know each other, neither of them would allow Lastation to fall to the monsters, just like the others in the rest of the nations refused to allow their nations to fall to monsters. Both because they didn't want to lose their homes, but also because they wanted to show their love to their CPU in the only way they could.
I had WAY too much fun with the Lowee part.
Anyway, hope you all liked this quick look into what's going on in Hyper Dimension. Kurome didn't realize that this was going to happen.
...Don't worry, we'll come back, but I'll go back and focus on Nep and the others again.
